A/N: I do not own any character references by JK Rowling in the Harry Potter series or agree with her comments. This story is a product of my pure imagination.

All the writers keep writing what they write
Somewhere, another pretty vein just dies
I've got the scars from tomorrow, and I wish you could see
That you're the antidote to everything except for me
A constellation of tears on your lashes
Burn everything you love
Then burn the ashes
In the end, everything collides.
My childhood spat back out the monster that you see

~ My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark by Fall Out Boy

a/n: Welcome back to the Enchanted world. It is midnight in London on the 30th of January, a certain character's birthday in the Harry Potter world. So, I felt it was only fitting that I posted the chapter today. Enjoy!

Deep in the corridors of the British Ministry of Magic, in the heart of the Department of Mysteries, lay the Time Room, which suddenly shimmered with a blinding light. A vortex of energy twisted violently in the middle of the long rectangular chamber, scattering the sparkling light on the clocks that filled the room on every wall.

As the light faded, a young woman was in the centre of the vortex. Her long auburn hair and dark robes whipped wildly around her as she slowly came down to the ground. Once her feet hit the ground with a soft thud that echoed through the quiet chamber, she stumbled, regaining her footing. Taking a breath, the woman took in the room around her. The room was eerily silent for a moment, then as she took a second breath, the clocks ticking returned.

The peace was quickly interrupted when a red light filled the chamber, and the glow of a warning light pulsed in rhythm with a deafening sound of alarm. The woman gasped, and panic surged as she ran toward the door, her robes billowing behind her. As she reached for the handle, the door vanished.

"Shite!" she muttered under her breath, spinning around frantically, scanning the room for another exit.

Before she could search for a second door, figures began apparating into the room, one after another, their robes dark and nearly identical to hers. Their faces were obscured by their hoods as they immediately raised their wands, and the room buzzed with the surge of magic. She dove to the ground, and stunning spells streaked over her head.

"Wait!" she yelled, covering her head with her arms. "I'm Unspeakable 53!"

The spells stopped one by one, and the energy in the room dissipated with a soft fizzle as one of the Unspeakables stepped forward, his wand trained on her. "Stop! Hold your fire!" he barked to the others.

Peeking up from the ground, the woman rose to her knees, trying to catch her breath. Pulling her hood up to cover her hair, she stood, brushing off her robes.

"Repeat your designation," The male Unspeakable that had addressed the others ordered, his tone stern.

"I am Unspeakable 53," she said, trying to keep her voice steadier than the tremors in her hands.

The air shimmered behind her in her peripheral vision as another door appeared, opening to admit a tall, dark-skinned man with an immediately commanding presence. He strode into the room with two others, wands at the ready, following. His deep purple robes showed his significance in the room as he smiled at her.

"I demand to speak to the Minister of Magic," she stated.

"At your service, ma'am," he said in a deep, calm voice, "I am Kingsley Shacklebolt, the Minister of Magic."

She gasped as she recognized him, "Kingsley Shacklebolt? The Ravenclaw Prefect?"

Kingsley hesitated, "One and the same, who am I speaking to?"

She stood up, swallowing hard, "I must speak with Auror Potter. Immediately."

Kingsley stared at her, "Auror Potter is already on his way. I must ask again. Who are you? To my knowledge, Unspeakable 53 no longer exists."

The woman felt her heart sink, but she steeled herself as the door reopened, revealing a tall, dark-haired man. When she saw his sharper features, shadowed with confusion, she nearly yelled his name. When their eyes met, the woman froze, her breath catching in her throat realizing that the person in front of her was not the same person she expected.

"It worked," she whispered as her knees buckled beneath her, "The spell worked."

The dark-haired man frowned as she did the math in her head. He had to be nearly twenty-nine years of age if her calculations were correct. If Kingsley demanded a presence as he entered the room, Auror Potter demanded attention and had it.

Glancing at Kingsley, Auror Potter stated, "Minister, report."

The Minister looked away from her to Auror Potter. "Head Auror Potter, there was a disturbance in the magic of the Time Room. The Unspeakables alerted me per protocol, and I immediately notified you. Sorry to pull you away from home at this hour. Upon my arrival, this woman was present. She wore outdated robes and identified herself as Unspeakable 53, which is… impossible."

Auror Potter's gaze left her and snapped to Kingsley, "Why is that impossible?"

Another Unspeakable stepped forward, removing his hood and making Auror Potter frown. "Theo?"

'Theo' glanced in her direction and then back to Auror Potter. "Because Unspeakable 53 is a retired designation," Theo told him, "Unspeakable 53 is no longer with us."

The woman stood as she kept her eyes on Auror Potter. "Is it the 3rd of May 2009, at 7:11 a.m.?" she asked.

Auror Potter's eyes met hers. "It's now 7," he said, looking at his old, beaten-up watch. "7:32, but yes. You seem to know who I am. Could you tell me who you are?"

The woman swallowed hard, never breaking eye contact. Slowly, she reached up and pulled back her hood, revealing her face. Her emerald eyes glistened with tears as she spoke, "I am from the 15th of November 1980. I am Unspeakable 53, also known as Lily Potter. Hello Harry."

Harry's breath caught in his throat as his legs gave out. If Kingsley hadn't caught him, he would have dropped to his knees, the same as she, as he stared at her in disbelief.

"Mum," he whispered, his voice breaking.

Tears streamed down Lily's face as she stared at her fully grown son, who she had last seen as only a two-month-old baby.

"Mrs. Potter," Kingsley said as he stepped forward as Harry regained his feet. "Lily, if you may. I know you say you are who you are, but time travel is impossible to cover twenty-eight years into the future."

Lily smiled, "Oh, it is. I'm here as proof as so. It was my project in the Time Room during my Mastery. I combined muggle and magical with the Fibonacci sequence and numerology, runes, and spell work. As well as my personal time turner, it brought me here on the 3rd of May 2009, at 7:11 am, for seven days."

"Seven days," Harry stated.

Lily looked at him, "Seven days."

Lily's stomach grumbled as she sat in the Department of Mysteries office she was in. She had been sitting in this room for what seemed like hours, her wand confiscated from her, and she had been left alone. With a sigh, she stood up, looking around the person's office she was currently in. On their desk was a frame, and within it was the Unspeakable from earlier that Harry had identified as Theo, who had a man behind him gazing down at him, obviously in love, with red hair which reminded her of Fabian Prewett the Head Boy in her second year, who was now in the Order of the Phoenix with her and James.

Smiling to herself as she realized that same-sex marriage was possible all these years later, she hoped that Sirius and Remus finally had their happily ever after.

"That is my husband."

Lily looked up at the Unspeakable named Theo, "Is it related to the Prewetts?"

Theo smiled, "If I remember correctly, that is his mother's maiden name."

Lily nodded, "I see the resemblance. Hello Theo."

Theo held his hand out to her, "Theo Nott, it's a pleasure, ma'am."

Lily shook it, "So, I'm assuming I am on lockdown here?"

Theo walked around and sat down at his desk. "Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry, but per protocol," he said, sighed, and then chuckled. "Honestly, there is no protocol for this. I'm not sure what is going to happen."

Lily nodded as she sat down, "So... you know my son?"

Theo laughed, "Who doesn't? I'll let him tell you when they decide what to do, but Mrs. Potter, your son is... amazing."

Lily took a magazine he handed her to see Harry on the cover with a curly-haired woman. The headline was "The Potters and their Legacy: How they are changing the wizarding world."

"Look, if you came from where you say you did, it worked, Lily," Theo told her as she looked up at him. "Your sacrifice worked. It saved Harry, and it saved our world."

Lily swallowed hard.

"Are you hungry?" Theo asked, "I can have food sent in for us."

"No need."

Theo and Lily both turned to see the curly-haired woman standing beside Harry on the magazine cover, who was now standing in his office. Theo stood up, grinning as he walked over and hugged her, "Hermione! I'm glad to see you."

The woman grinned as she hugged him back, "Well if you weren't a stranger and would come around to dinner more often, we'd see each other more."

"Blame Charlie," Theo told her, "How'd you get down here?"

Hermione laughed, "Theo, you seem to forget I broke into this Department at 16. Being a department head and wife of the head auror has its advantages."

Lily cleared her throat, "Harry is Head Auror at only 29?"

Hermione smiled, "Harry has been Head Auror since he was 26. Hello Lily. I know this must be... weird for you."

Lily stood up and looked at the slightly shorter woman. "I assume you are my daughter-in-law."

Hermione nodded as she held out her hand, "Hermione Potter."

Lily swallowed as she shook her hand, "Pleasure to meet you."

Hermione leaned on Theo's desk, "So I overheard them discussing the situation when I came in. They are discussing what to do with you for the next seven days. You cannot know too much about the future, blah blah blah, but what they don't know is that I know that once time is changed, it is fixed in that way. What happened in the past has already happened. I am still Harry's wife. Everything that happened in my past has already happened, and you being here hasn't changed anything because," Hermione threw something onto the desk, "You always were going to be here."

Lily took the muggle notebook, "You have my notebook." Opening her robes, she pulled out a newer version of the same notebook, "Have you read it?"

"No," Hermione told her, "Because look at the note on the front."

Lily looked at the cover. "This is not to be read until 10 May 2009. How did you uncover my code?"

Hermione grinned, "I solemnly swear I am up to no good. It isn't a great password for someone who knows the Marauders."

Lily chuckled as she shook her head, "James always thought it was clever, but I knew it was a safe bet if something did indeed happen to us." Lily ran her fingers over the aged notebook.

"So," Lily said, looking up at Hermione, "have you known about my journal for a while?"

"Like I said, I never read it, but years ago, I found it when Harry and I were going through the Potter vaults and found it. Once we got married, we went back through the vaults, and I saw it again. I locked it in my office until today," Hermione told her. "Why not open it today?"

"I'm assuming I write something for Harry in it upon my leaving," Lily told her, "So my being here didn't mess anything up in the timeline?"

"Well, you came to the Unspeakables, and Kingsley, Harry, and myself are the only others that know you are here. Nothing has changed because you always go back to the past," Hermione told her, "When Harry and I time travelled-"

Theo threw his arms up, "Because, of course, you did. What didn't you three do?! Was it your third year?"

Hermione grinned at him, "How do you think I got to all my classes?"

Lily looked at her, "How many classes did you take in your third year?"

Hermione smiled, "All of them. Only dropped one that whole year when I had my nervous breakdown and lost it a bit."

Theo snorted, "I heard about you throwing the diva fit on Trelawney."

Hermione huffed, "Divination is such a woolly subject and wasn't worth my time."

"Unless you are Luna," Theo stated.

Hermione looked at him, "Not even Luna took Divination." Hermione stood up and sat down next to Lily, "You didn't mess anything up because you were always meant to be here at this moment. The timeline is intact because you've always done this. We are just catching up on your actions. You being here now doesn't change anything. It just… completes it."

Lily nodded as she ran her hands over her face, "When I came up with the spell and the theory behind it. I honestly thought I could blend in and no one would know I existed. Now I have seven days here with my son, who is alive."

Hermione reached out and took Lily's hand. "Alive and happy because of you. This is your way of seeing what your choices did for the world, the world that you helped to create. Knowing that everything you and James did was not in vain."

Lily swallowed and squeezed her hand, "I will take this blessing of time with Harry and you." Glancing at the magazine, Lily bit her lip, "He looks so much like James."

"But with your eyes. He's heard it before," Hermione told her with a smile.

Before Lily could respond, the door opened, and Harry stepped inside. "Fucking bureaucrats," he mumbled under his breath as his eyes locked onto hers.

Harry pulled a paper bag out from behind his back, "I thought you might be hungry," he said as he hesitated, "Mum."

Lily stared at him up close, her eyes filling with tears as she stood and stepped before him. "Harry," she breathed out, "My baby."

Harry closed the distance between them and wrapped his arms around her, "You're not dreaming. I'm here, you're here, and it worked. He's gone, Mum."

Lily clung to his robes as she sobbed, realizing her sacrifice. The blood magic and the old protection spells she had been researching deep in the ministry's vaults worked, and her life was on a countdown. "I'm so proud of you," Lily told him.

Harry chuckled, "You don't know anything I've done yet."

Lily looked up at him, "Head Auror at 26? They don't award that to just anyone, Harry."

Harry pulled her close, and Lily laid her head on her son's chest, hearing the strong heartbeat telling her everything was worth it.

"So… wonderful reunion. Any clue if she can leave?" Theo asked.

Harry sighed, "I tried the Hermione argument that we went into the past, and what we changed had already been changed. We didn't know it at the time. All events happened concurrently."

"Did you really say that?" Hermione asked him.

Harry grinned, "After all these years, My love, some things have to rub off on me."

"Oh, your mother is here!" Theo said, scandalized. "Don't make those freaky eyes at each other, you two. That is disgusting!"

Hermione blushed, looking away towards the ceiling as Harry scratched the back of his neck. "Anyway, they said as long as she remains with us at our house, she can leave the Ministry."

Lily's heart raced, "You mean I get to come to your home?"

Harry nodded, "There are some people I can't wait for you to see. Eat, and then we will meet with the Minister."

Kingsley paced the length of his office as Lily sat in his office with Harry and Hermione. Tenting his hands at his chin, he sighed, looking at them, "Let me be perfectly clear," he began, his deep voice carrying throughout his office, "Lily Potter cannot leave your home. Not even to visit Diagon Alley or step outside the wards of your compound. She is not to know more about the future than what we deem safe, what I would deem safe. Is that understood?"

Lily watched Harry and Hermione exchange a glance before nodding.

"Understood," Hermione said.

"Good." Kingsley turned to Lily, "Mrs. Potter, you are a time anomaly. Whatever experiment you did to bring you here is beyond our understanding, but it's also imperative that your presence does not jeopardize our world. Do I have word that you will remain within the boundaries of the Potter compound and that you will not use any knowledge of the future to alter its course in any way?"

"You have my word, Minister," Lily told him.

Kingsley stared at her, then nodded, "Now, I've made arrangements for you to use my floo. Harry, Hermione, I trust you know what to do from here."

Lily stood after Harry, and Hermione did.

"Thank you, Kingsley," Harry said, shaking the Minister's hand.

"Don't make me regret this, Potter. If this happened to anyone else, you know she'd be locked up here in the Ministry in hiding," Kingsley told him.

"I know, sir. I appreciate it." Harry told him.

"I've put in for leave for both of you," Kingsley told them. "Make sure she is back on time."

"Thank you, Kings," Hermione told him, walking over to the floo, "See you on Saturday for dinner?"

Harry looked at Hermione. "You go first and reset the wards. Mum, our floo address is Prongslet's Castle, " he told her as Hermione left.

Lily raised an eyebrow, then laughed, shaking her head, "Such a Sirius thing."

Harry laughed, "His place is Padfoot's Place."

"Of course it is," Lily said, shaking her head as she stepped into the flames, "Prongslet's Castle."

When Lily stumbled out of the floo into a cozy receiving room, and immediately felt a sense of warmth and comfort. The room was decorated in pale green, and family photos scattered along the walls as much as the toys did. It wasn't a grand mansion but a home.

"Welcome to our home," Hermione said, bending down to scoop up toys scattered along the floor. "I'm sorry about the mess. When I got word, I rushed to the Ministry and didn't tidy up after the boys were off this morning."

Lily wandered over to the wall adorned with photos, her eyes catching on one in particular. It showed Harry and Hermione in bunny ears with two children. A baby in Harry's arms looked so much like himself with a head of black curly hair, and Hermione's arms were around a boy around Hogwarts age with bright blue hair and hazel eyes. She froze, "You have kids?"

Hermione glanced at Harry, who had just stepped through the floor.

Harry walked over to Lily, "Two sons. Teddy is eleven and is about to start his first year at Hogwarts. Jamie is nine months old."

Lily touched the edge of the photo frame, "He looks so familiar."

Harry sighed, "Because he's Remus' son, by blood. He is also part Black through Sirius' cousin Andromeda's daughter."

Lily turned and looked at him, "So Remus…"

"Is gone." Harry nodded. "We will talk about it later tonight. I don't want to overwhelm you. I know you have questions. Plus… we will be interrupted if I know anything about my mother-in-law. She is like clockwork."

Hermione glanced out the window, "And here she is."

Lily watched Hermione leave the room and heard a woman greet her.

"Thanks, Mum," Hermione said as a baby squealed. "Hello, my darling. Were you good for Nana?"

"Always, the little rascal is so much like his Papa," a woman said. "You might want to check his nappy, however. The journey across the yard was too much for his belly."

Harry chuckled, "He's a pooping machine," he said as he left the room, and Lily slowly followed him.

Leaning against the kitchen doorframe, Lily watched Harry walk over to Hermione. "I heard the Stinky Monster struck again."

"Oh, this one is all for you," Hermione said, handing him to Harry.

"Let's go get you cleaned up, little man," Harry said, rubbing his beard against the baby's face, which made him giggle as he left the room.

Hermione's mother's eyes met Lily's, and she frowned before looking at Hermione, "And this is?"

Hermione shook her head, "I'll explain later. Thanks for bringing Jamie. Is Orion home with Dad?"

"Yes," her mother said, still staring at Lily. "Do you want to come over for dinner tonight?"

Hermione said, "Thanks, but Harry and I are staying in tonight."

"All right. Let me know if you change your mind," she said, waving at Lily before she left.

As Hermione shut the door, Lily looked at her, "Why don't you want your Dad to know?"

"I do," Hermione said, running her hand through her hair, "But Dad… can be a bit much. He has meetings tomorrow, and I need him to be able to pay attention to that. He is a bit of an… overactive puppy, people have compared him to. I'll officially introduce you three tomorrow afternoon."

Before Lily could respond, Harry returned carrying Jamie, who smiled at Lily.

"Mum," Harry said softly, "I'd like to introduce you to someone. Mum, meet Jamie Sirius Daniel Potter."

Lily's eyes filled with tears as she reached out and touched Jamie's tiny hand, taking in his hazel eyes, so much like her husband's. "Jamie…" she whispered, her voice breaking, "Oh, your father would love this."

Harry smiled, "We have your portraits, you know. The boys know you. They talk to you all the time. Dad gets Teddy into more trouble than even his friends do."

Lily laughed, wiping her tears, "Why am I not surprised?"

"Mum!? Dad?!"

"In the kitchen!" Harry yelled as he looked at his mother, "Quidditch is over."

A tall, lanky boy ran into the room, nearly sliding on the floor, stumbling as he ran into the wall, "Hey Grandmum, Dad…." He trailed off, looking at her again, "Bloody hell!"

"Teddy!" Harry scolded as Hermione put her hand on her face with a laugh.

"How is Grandmum here?" Teddy asked, staring at her.

"Remember how I had a time-turner in my third year? It turns out Grandmum experimented with one in the past and is here with us for a week, but Teddy, we can't tell anyone. Not even Victoire," Hermione warned him.

Teddy's hair flashed from black to brown before turning blue as he turned to Harry and Hermione, "So this means I don't have to do my homework, right?"

Hermione looked at him, "And who is your mum? All you must do is read tonight. You can wait until bed."

"It was worth a try. Wait! Does Papa know?" Teddy asked.

"We are waiting until tomorrow to tell him," Harry told him, "He has a Wizengamot meeting tomorrow that he must attend and… well, you know Papa. He's easily excited."

Teddy gave them a look that reminded Lily so much of Remus. "You know he's going to be mad, right?"

"He will understand," Hermione stressed. "Now, let's go into the sitting room. I think Grandmum has some questions, and I'm sure you'd love to help us with our stories."

Teddy took Lily's hand, "Come on, Grandmum!"

Lily laughed, letting him pull her through a hallway to a pale blue room with larger couches. Above the fireplace hearth were portraits of James' parents.

Euphemia gasped, "Lily!"

"Mum Potter," Lily said as she walked over to her, "Oh, how I miss you."

"How are you here?" Fleamont asked.

"I experimented with a time-turner and told no one."

Lily turned to see herself in a portrait next to James, "James, honey."

"It worked… God, Lils. I can't believe it worked," James said in awe. "You said it did, but to see you here."

Lily grinned, "Of course it did."

Hermione sat on the couch, and Harry sat beside her after putting Jamie into his playpen.

"Lils, just try to remain calm as they tell their story," James stated.

Lily looked at him in his portrait, "It's not as happy as I hope, is it?"

"No, but look at them now," James told her.

Lily turned to see Hermione holding Harry's hand, "Start from the beginning."

"It all started when Voldemort killed you and Dad in Godric's Hollow," Harry told her.

"And my spell worked. You survived, I didn't. What happened to Voldemort?" Lily asked as she sat down.

"The killing curse rebounded. It hit me but rebounded to him. He didn't die, however. He just lost his body. I survived, but I was left with a scar," Harry said, pulling his hair back to reveal the faded scar, "A cursed scar."

Lily bit her lip, "But you were only a baby. He tried to kill a baby?"

Harry nodded, "Hagrid came and rescued me that night, on Dumbledore's orders, and brought me to Hogwarts to be checked out."

Lily stared at him, "When we died, Sirius raised you, correct?"

"No," Harry said, "The day the two of you died, you were betrayed. Sirius went after that person, and they one-upped him, killed many muggles, and faked his death. Sirius didn't even get a trial. The Ministry had him arrested and put into Azkaban."

Lily gasped as she sat on the opposite couch, "So Remus? Alice and Frank?"

"Remus was not allowed. For reasons you know, Alice and Frank are currently in St. Mungo's for the rest of their lives," Harry informed her, "After what happened to us, Death Eaters attacked the Longbottoms and drove them to insanity with the Cruciatus."

Lily shook her head, "Please, not Neville."

"Neville is one of our best friends. He is the Herbology professor at Hogwarts. He is fine," Harry told her.

"Thank heavens," Lily said, wiping her eyes, "But then who raised you?"

Harry glanced at Hermione, then breathed, "Aunt Petunia."

Lily's breath caught in her throat as her heart dropped, "That fucking manipulative bastard! I told you, James, that Dumbledore was a conniving bastard! This was all Dumbledore's doing, wasn't it?"

Hermione's eyes flashed, and Lily could feel the magic coming off her, "He left Harry in a basket on their doorstep. A newly orphaned one-year-old baby, in the cold night on a fucking doorstep. They didn't find him until the morning. We are lucky that Harry still has his fingers and toes. They brought him into their home and hid him until he was eleven. He went to school, but they were awful to him, Lily."

"They weren't kind," Harry admitted, "But it's okay, Mum. I survived. When I got my letter, it made it even more significant to me. I could escape them."

Hermione touched Harry's knee, "Thanks to Hagrid's perseverance."

"That's when I started living, Mum. I learned about you, Dad, and magic. I met my best friends, Hermione, of course, and Ron," Harry told her, "Neville too."

"Ron… where do I know that name from? Gideon and Fabrian's new nephew, that's his name," Lily said, looking at Hermione, "Just like Charlie in Theo's office."

"The Weasleys, yes. Our second family," Harry told her, pointing to the many pictures with redheads with them.

"Ron, Hermione, and I had many adventures during our Hogwarts years," Harry told her. "Well, it was more like trouble, and Hermione," Harry said, looking at her warmly, "saved my life more times than I could count."

Hermione blushed, "I couldn't have saved your life if you hadn't saved me from the troll first."

"Troll?" Lily asked, surprised.

"You see, our first year, our Defence professor had Voldemort living as a parasite in the back of his head, and he let a troll into Hogwarts to try to steal the Philosopher Stone to give Voldemort a longer life," Harry told her, "Hermione got trapped in the bathroom with it and I… well I ended up jumping on its back to distract it and Ron used the only spell we knew to knock it out," Harry explained.

"What did Minnie call it, 'Pure dumb luck?' were her words?" James asked.

"Yeah," Harry said as Lily looked at him in disbelief, "That's when we all became friends. Thanks to a Troll on Halloween."

"Wait, wait… you battled a troll at Hogwarts on Halloween?! At eleven?" Lily asked.

"And made Seeker before that already!" James said, proud.

"Hold on a godforsaken second," Lily said, holding her chest, "You were on the Quidditch team in your first year?"

"Yes, seeker. Youngest seeker in over a century," James said proudly from his portrait.

"Who in their right mind let you try out!?" Lily asked.

"Well, I didn't try out. A bully took Neville's Remembrall and flew up in the air with it. After being bullied all my life, I hated bullies, so I went up to get it. Flying was easy, natural even," Harry explained, "McGonagall saw me catch it in midair and not fall off my broom, then took me to see the Quidditch captain."

Lily ran her hand over her face, "You were a Gryffindor."

"We both are," Hermione told her.

"Minnie loves her Quidditch," James said proudly.

"Are you all right?"

Lily looked up from her sleeping grandson in her arms to her daughter-in-law, "It's just a lot."

Hermione nodded, "It was to live through, too. I ended up writing books about our stories. If you have time, read the first two before you leave."

Lily grinned, "What happened to keeping the future a secret?"

"I know that you aren't going to change anything that happens so that nothing happens to him," Hermione told him. "You and James knew it was a possibility, and like me, you would give up your life no matter the cost to keep your child alive. Even if you go back and tell James, he will also keep it a secret."

Lily looked down at her sleeping grandson and said, "You mentioned using a time-turner in your third year with Harry. Your third year was bad, wasn't it?"

Hermione smiled, "It was one of our best years. Voldemort didn't bother Harry that year, and Harry and I saved my father. We didn't know he was my father then, of course." Hermione gently took Jamie and set him in his crib, "You see, I grew up as a muggle. When I got my letter, suddenly a whole world opened up to me, just like it did to you, but I didn't have a Snape to help me understand."

Lily frowned, "You know about Snape?"

Hermione nodded, "I was born in September, so I got my letter 11 months before starting Hogwarts. I read all the first-year books before Christmas, made my parents take me back to Diagon Alley, and found so many books. I learned about Harry's story and how a Muggleborn like myself changed the magical world. Harry likes to joke that when he started Hogwarts, I knew more about him than he did, and that never changed."

Lily smiled, "I think he is right."

Hermione looked at her watch. "I think you've had a long day. Would you like to join us for some evening television or head to bed?"

Lily yawned, "I'm not sure I will be able to sleep, but I think I should try."

Hermione pulled out her wand, "Expecto Patronaum." From her wand, a doe appeared. "Harry, honey, your mum is heading to bed. Come tell her goodnight."

"You can cast a Patronus?" Lily asked, surprised. "That is hard for most wizards."

Hermione blushed, "Since our fifth year, Lupin taught Harry to cast it in our third year. You see, Sirius escaped from Azkaban, and then the Ministry thought it would be smart to send the dementors to Hogwarts in case they came to harm Harry. They thought Sirius was working with the Death Eaters and betrayed you."

"Because of his family," Lily stated.

"Exactly, the problem is, with the horrors of Harry's past, he felt the pull of the dementors more than most. For me, it was like I was so sad and sick to my stomach. To Harry, just them being nearby sent him into convulsions. Thankfully, Remus was on the train when we first experienced them," Hermione explained.

"How did Dumbledore… that man, I'm going to have a word with him," Lily told her.

"He's dead since our sixth year. Another story, for another day," Harry told her as he entered Jamie's nursery, "You are ready for bed? Hermione put some of her clothes in the guest room for you, overlooking our garden."

"Hermione said you can cast a patronus, too," Lily said.

"You may recognize it," Harry said as he cast his, and Prongs appeared before Lily.

"James," Lily whispered as she held her hand out, and Prongs nuzzled her.

"You and Dad have always protected me, even if you aren't actually here," Harry told her as the buck disappeared. "Let me show you to your room. Tomorrow is going to be a big day."

"I finally get to meet your father, who has to be someone significant because James looks like he wants to tell me whenever you mention him," Lily said, following them downstairs.

a/n: She's back! Not to stay like Sirius, sadly. She will return to the past. This story will be seven chapters, one for each day that Lily will be in the future. Some chapters will be short, some long. Definitely not Enchanted length. Enjoy, and let me know what you all think and maybe what you'd like to see from Lily in the future. All but the final chapter have been written, and I am interested to see what you all think. This will be an update every other week, starting with chapter two on February 15th. I will be back on Saturdays from there.

Preview of Chapter Two: Dream On

The smell of breakfast greeted Lily as she stepped into the kitchen. Teddy was sitting at the kitchen island, munching on an apple as he flipped through what appeared to be a comic book. Hermione stood at the countertop, slicing vegetables, and Harry stood wearing a casual shirt and jeans and operating the stove with what appeared to be practiced ease.

"Do I have to go to school today?" Teddy asked.

"Yes, Teddy," Hermione replied as she scraped the cut peppers into a bowl for Harry, who leaned down to kiss her. She smiled at him and touched his cheek before turning to Teddy, "How about this. You go to school today and tomorrow, and then we'll let you take Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off, AS LONG," she emphasized, "As long as you don't have any tests or important projects on those days. It's towards the end of the year. Every day is important."

"Deal!" Teddy grinned as he threw his apple toward the rubbish bin, "So, is Papa coming over today?"

"Yes," Hermione replied, "I told Grandmum Juliet to bring him over this afternoon once he's done with his meetings. He usually finishes around the time you get home from school."

Lily smiled, watching the morning's easy rhythm. It felt warm and natural as if they were doing this daily.

"Good morning," she finally said as she stepped into the kitchen.

Harry turned, smiling. "I was about to come up and check on you. Would you like an omelet?"

Lily nodded as she sat down next to Teddy, reaching for an apple from the bowl in the center of the island, "I'm not picky. Whatever you are making works for me."

Harry handed Teddy a plate, "Eat up, then I'll take you to school."

She turned to Teddy, "Where do you go to school?"

"The Lily Potter School for Magical Beings," Teddy said proudly.
