Hello all!. I took off a few months to focus on school and...I graduated! I am so incredibly happy that I have finally finished school for now, I say now because I may want to continue it in the future and focus on a master's but I am taking a well deserved break. I was planning on updating sooner but after graduation my fur baby's health rapidly declined and they had to cross the rainbow bridge. It still hurts everyday but I hold on to the hope that one day I'll see them at the meadow waiting for me...I think they held on until I graduated so I could say goodbye. Anyways I hope to update a lot more now that I have a bit more free time but I am also taking some time to grieve.

Ok you can do this. Just point and shoot. That's all you have to do. You've done this before, usually at demons trying to kill you but it's easy.

She took a deep breath repositioning the weapon in her clammy hands for the fifth time focusing on the animal grazing on the dying greenery. A tremor ran through her body causing the bow to shake and she let go, shutting her eyes closed.

I'm sorry she gave a silent apology to the animal hoping it was going to be a quick death.

SWISH the arrow hummed making its way to its intended target and then a thunk. The arrow clattered and she opened an eye tentatively expecting the deer to be on its side. But she had expected too much.

The arrow lay pathetically on the ground not even close to the deer. Well that did not go at all how she was hoping for. The deer hadn't even moved and it watched her warily continuing to munch down on the limited food. She took a step forward, her foot crunching on the leaves beneath her. That seemed to finally threaten the deer and it sprung away.

Crunch crunch crunch the sounds of its hooves beating against the leaves slowly faded and Kagome sighed dejectedly picking up the scattered arrow. This was the third time she had missed. Why didn't anyone tell her how hard it was to hunt?! Ginta, Hakkaku and Ayame were waiting nearby and Kouga would be home any day now. The three of them had offered her advice on how to hunt but somehow sinking her teeth into an animal's neck and throat to kill it didn't sound appetizing at all and she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at the suggestion err tip. Even if she somehow managed to get close enough to a deer, which she doubted, there was absolutely no way she was going to bite it. They had also offered another tip. Slash the neck with their claws which was also a problem. Kagome only had human nails so that suggestion went out the window.

"Why do you even want to hunt? We have enough food and I'm sure kouga's gonna bring something." Ayame had asked her as she examined her copper hair plucking away at the dead ends.

"Well…there is... You uh told me that wolves feed each other as part of courting right?"

Ayame's eyes rounded and a devilish grin spread across her face.

"You wanna feed Kouga huh?"

"Y-yea I guess." she admitted, "I want to show him I can also bring in food…he always does it."

"Well you know you don't have to feed kouga he's happy doing it for ya but I can always hunt for the food and pretend you caught it." Ayame had offered.

"No! I have to do this myself. I have to prove it." And that was the end of their conversation. Ayame had somehow enlisted the help of Ginta and Hakkuku who were immediately on board with helping out Kagome with her task. She had, of course, set boundaries with them. They couldn't help her out unless she specifically asked for it and they could not give her advice.

This was a first for her. Well not a first, she had hunted in the past but it was very small animals. It was never a deer or boar and it was a long long time ago plus the fact that she also hated hunting, another thing she missed about modern life, pre-packaged meat . She felt bad that it was always Kouga bringing her food. Doing stuff for her. Even with Inuyasha he would always bring them some meat or gather the necessities but their work had split a bit more evenly. This time things would be different and she also wanted to court him and show him she was capable of doing things for herself and for them. So here she was in this cold forest trying to find him food but it was not going as planned and time was running out.

It had been hours since she spotted a deer and she had a feeling that this had been her last chance at getting anything. The sun was close to setting and she sighed dejectedly again putting the arrow back in her quiver.

Well I guess it's time to look at the traps I made.

That had been the one smart thing she had thought of. Setting traps before she tried to hunt.

Luck.

She chewed on her lip nervously as she pulled out a dead rabbit from the trap.

Oh god oh god.

Even though it looked very fluffy and big it was small, far too small to share but she couldn't help but feel a small sense of pride flow through her. She had actually caught something!

She carefully wrapped the rabbit in a cloth and swung it around her back, making her way to the trio proudly lifting the sack in the air and they whooped, congratulating her.

"Way to go sis!" Hakkaku cheered, hugging her.

"That's it? Where's the other one? It's kinda sma- ow!" Ginta rubbed his side from Ayame's elbow.

"Oops" she replied, side eyeing him.

"I-I couldn't catch anything else." her smile and her pride faltered.

"Hey it's not a big deal, he's gonna love it." ayame patted her arm.

"You think he will?" She chewed on her bottom lip nervously.

They all nodded, "'course he will sis. The fact that you're makin' an effort for him will make him appreciate it." Ginta said.

She nodded slowly, her brows furrowed before accepting their praise and assurance.

She screwed up. She didn't know if she should have cooked the meat or not, but she did, hoping they could share. What she didn't account for was that the rabbit appeared bigger than it was because of its fur and that once she cooked the meat it had shrunk further into a measly piece. There was no way they could share unless she and him only ate a few bites.

If I cut them into very tiny pieces we can probably have five bites each…

She poked at the cooked meat with chopsticks.

Maybe he won't be here tonight. Maybe he'll be ba-

"Kagome."

She felt his presence before hearing him and she turned, forcing a strained smile. His smile curled into a frown. She looked upset but he didn't think it was about his presence.

"What's wrong?"
"Oh um nothing. Nothing." she had changed her mind. There was no way in hell she could give him this thing. She pushed the plate away, hoping her embarrassment wasn't too apparent.

"What are you hiding?"
"Nothing!"

"What is it?"

Her neck flushed up to her ears.

"How was your trip?"

She hoped that this would change the topic but nothing was ever this easy with this stubborn stubborn man. Correction. Her stubborn stubborn man.

"It was fine." he cocked an eyebrow, "I'm hungry. I was gonna eat with everyone but for some reason…Ginta, Hakkaku and Ayame refused to share." he eyed her curiously. They were all up to something and when he had asked they all giggled and looked at each other like children.

"Oh is that so?" she nervously laughed. Those three traitors had set her up to fail!

"In fact they insisted I go find you first. They seemed to think you could help me."

"Well…the thing is…" why was this so embarrassing? "I…um went hunting today." It was meant to be a statement but it came out as a question.

"And you caught something?" his voice grew in excitement and she winced knowing she was just about to let him down.

"I would hardly call it hunting…but I caught something? I got this." she finally presented the small and pathetic dish " I was trying to hunt for the both of us. But I couldn't get anything bigger. I'm sorry." she looked down at the "dish" with dismay, refusing to make eye contact. Her shame filled the room and he frowned.

He bent down, squatting to her eye level and brushed her hair away from her face, "why did you hunt today? You didn't have to do that, everyone here is capable of do-"

"Because I know that's how you…court or date here and I wanted to do the same for you. And I knew you would be coming back soon. I wanted to surprise you." she looked down dejectedly even more.

"Kagome look at me." he said tilting her chin to meet him, "I love that you did this for me. I appreciate it."

"Really?"

"Yes, you were thinking about me and you did surprise me. And I am hungry. Are you?"

"A little but this won't fill you!"

"That's okay. We can share it."

"That was delicious."

"And small." she added bitterly.

"It was perfect Kagome."

"Did you care that I cooked it?"
He shook his head, "not if we can both eat it. It's not my preference but I can eat cooked food." His hand rubbed her arm "kagome?"

"Hmm?" she lifted her neck up from his chest to look at him.

"I missed you."

"I missed you too. I found it…hard to sleep." she admitted. Ever since they had started sleeping next to each other, Kagome found it easy to go to bed plus she missed his body heat she was thankful he was basically a furnace.

"It was hard for me too," he chuckled, "I tried to get back as soon as I could but there were other matters I had to take care of. I just wanted to be home." With you. But the elders liked to talk a lot and no matter how much he tried to politely hurry up the conversation they insisted on going over other matters. And one of those matters he had to get permission for. So he had to be polite and wait for their answer.

"Wow and I thought you were trying to get away from me." she teased and his low chuckle made her giggle.

"Hm only a little bit." he leaned in brushing his lips against hers and she quickly reciprocated, leaning into him and shifting so her hands were on the floor. He groaned when she nipped his lip and then his tongue. He grabbed her, pulling her onto him so she was straddling him.

"Kagome." he groaned against her mouth and she pulled away, grinding herself on him. He grunted and pushed against her.

She let out a small whimper, steadying herself by placing her hands on his chest and continuing to grind herself against it.

"Kagome." he warned. He had only so much self restraint left.

She kissed him again and then got off of him and he relaxed, only briefly until she started reaching for his loincloth.

"Kagome." he warned again, grabbing her wrist. She gave him a look and he let go as she finally pulled it down and he sprung out.

Oh.

Heat pooled in her core and her breath hitched. She knew that it was going to be big but she did not imagine it to be quite so girthy.

She bit her lip, heart pounding in her chest. She had done this once with Inuyasha and while it had been fine for the most part she did not particularly enjoy it and they had never tried it again. But this felt different. While Inuyasha had by no means been small Koga was definitely bigger and she felt like she was entirely in new territory.

"It's okay. You don't have to do anything." he said, his voice hoarse. He sensed her uncertainty and he would never force her to do something she didn't want to do.

He about died when she bent down and grasped it and started giving gentle and soft kisses around the tip. Slowly her tongue darted out lapping up at the droplets forming on the tip. He couldn't help but groan and buck his hips towards her.

"Fuck."

"Sorry did I-"

"Don't apologize. Ever" his voice strained, "it felt good."

This gave her the boost of confidence that she needed and she started working her other hand on it.

"Kouga?"

"Mmm?" His voice was coated with sleepiness as gently rubbed circles across her waist.

"Did…was it good for you?"

He let out a contempt hum of approval, brushing his lips against her forehead.

"It was amazing but you didn't have to."

"I wanted to. I wanted to make up for the lack of food today and I really really missed you."

He chortled, pressing another kiss to her head "I missed you too. Does that mean it's my turn to show you how much I missed you."

She playfully smacked his chest, "It's really late and you're tired."

He sighed against her pulling her closer and resting his chin above her head, "I am. You really drained me." he said, his voice blurring with sleep. And just like that he was out cold and she laughed quietly to herself drifting off to bed.

I will hopefully be back soon!
