Maruna did not like when he smiled nor did she like the way he smiled. She kept trying not to judgemental but there was something highly unnatural about that smile of his. The way his gums strayed up far too high and the way his teeth curved up down from his red gums like a rabid weasel towering down at his prey.

This was beyond an overbite, this was a majorly defective deformity and no matter how she tried to look at this terrifying vision of a man, she couldn't shake the feeling that something was horribly wrong not just with his smile and his overall face but the very situation she had put herself in.

This was a mistake. I can see that now. I shouldn't have done this. I shouldn't have come here. Why did I have to be such an idiot? I just had to pick a resort that was out in bum fuck of nowhere! Yep that's me but hey if I die no one will come looking for me. After all I'm not important enough, I'm just another foster kid, just another orphan that was straining on the population anyway. I'll get a little section in the obituary and that will be it. I'm done for, goodbye cruel world, it was nice knowing you. What am I kidding? It wasn't all that nice, it wasn't horrible but still I felt like I was just trudging through a listless and empty existence.

I was never living to begin with so who know maybe dying will be better for me.

from the moment I've opened my eyes I've always felt like I was on a different frequency than everyone else. I've felt like people were speaking a different language than my own and thr I couldn't understand a word of what anyone was saying to me. Hey! I ought to write that down. I hope This Mr. Olivier can provide me with some sort of pen and paper.

Maruna soon forgot her gloom and doom as she was introduced to her new room. It was huge, the four poster bed was absolutely massive, bed curtains were fluer de lis green and the floor was lined with at least 20 different oriental rugs.

"Wow...this is just...Wow...its sooo freaking big. It's like the size of apartment. I mean I feel like I'm at the top suite of a fancy hotel. And you decorated!

I Mean come on, Look at the bed...Like Whoa...Its super huge. Is that silk sheets? Damn! This is nice! Its gotta a fireplace! You could roast a whole fucking pig in there. Oh excuse me...I didn't mean to say that."

"No, It's quite alright. Oh ooooh No you shouldn't touch thaaat!

That is naaat a mere decoration. Stupid girl!" He growled rather hissingly.

Maruna reached out, stretching her one hand out to touch the cobwebs with her fingertips, the look of enchantment so intense that it almost appeared that she was in a trance.

"What's wrong?"

She inquired rather dreamily.

"That's not a decoration...It's real!"

Before Maruna could react a black widow spider descended down on the tip of her finger.

Mr. Olivier expected her to scream and wave her arms around like a windmill but instead she stared at the spider, noticing the red mark on its back, then gently placing her finger on the bed frame to which the spider miraculously took the opportunity to mount the bed post and creep up slowly out of sight.

"Oh so the spider is real too. Niiice! That's actually pretty cool you have actual spiders in your resort, gives it a real authentic feel to it ya know.

Anyway, no harm done, no doubt she's all nestled up on the bed canopy. You know despite their deadly bite, only 6 people a year actually die from them and that's normally with older people that live insolation or people that live in the wilderness without medical care.

Black widows are actually quite standoffish, they only use that deadly bite when it's absolutely necessary. People live with them in the walls, under their beds, undusted corners, unseen nooks and cranies, and even cracks in the wall, they really don't bother anyone. They keep to themselves so much some people don't even know they are there. So there's nothing to be afraid of really".

Maruna smacks the dust off her hands with a few swift claps.

Mr. Olivier is astounded by her calm demeanor around the spider.

"You are quite a marvel aren't you Miss Fipple? I am surprised thaat you are sooo calm around such a creature and did you say that was a female? Yoou mooost really be knowledgeable regarding the subject oooov spiders if you know thee deeiference between the sexes".

"I was the weird emo orphan girl that probably would have put her tarantula on a leash if I could."

"Youuuu haaad a pet I see".

"A pet tarantula, yep. Winifred was her name until somebody left her enclosure open. I never knew what happened to her, I suppose someone must have accidently stepped on her. Heck probably somebody did it on purpose. I lived with some pretty shitty people in the past. It makes me shudder that anyone would harm such a vulnerable creature on purpose. Oh well that's all in the past now. It sucks but nothing I can do about it now".

Maruna wipes the dust off on her tight jeggings and then sighs, falling onto the bed happily.

"Strange gurl, a varry strange gurl indeed".

Mr. Olivier mumblesd as he trumbles out of her room.

Mr. Olivier pulls out a slightly cracked silver watch and peers at the time.

"Allll This effort for...freeesh blood. I could veenture down to to the villaage but they always taste of rusty shillings. Jooost Wait...wait for your moment. Leet her adjust, then I can striiike and feeed.

I sooo dooo enjoy when they have that look of stolen innocence, that fase of utter betrayal, so hurrt and so bewildered by the troooth. She will look at me like a lamb who knows not of their slaughter!

She haaas no family to look for her and no friends to come to her aid. If I had soul in which to feel I would weep for her but no one will weep for her not even when her varry blood is spilt.

I waaander how she will taste.

Oh I'm sure she Is untouched by any man, so her life flow shall be eeeven sweeter! Oh what's even sweeeeter is she doesn't even know whoo I am, she doosen't eeeven know whaaat I'm capable of nor of eeeven what I am. Yet tonight I will eat well and I will watch her corpse rooooot in thaaaat bed! I can hardly contain myself. Oooh I can hardly wait!"

Mr. Olivier puts a little skip into his step as he slides down the hallway away from her room.
