Kate helped Ryka place an icepack on her head.

"Thanks," Ryka said. "I just need a moment."

They along with their two male escorts had made it back to the safety of the Resistance's control center.

Shawn scanned the battlefield with binoculars. "John," he called. "You better look at this."

John grabbed another set of binoculars and hurried over to see.

"Quin must have done it," Shawn said. "HKs are turning around and it looks like the Terminators are retreating."

John went from looking through the binoculars for a moment to rushing over to the radio and picking up the microphone. "This is Football, repeat, Football," he said. "All forces stand down, I say again, all forces stand down. Hold your fire and position until further notice."

Both men then continued to watch the machines retreat.

"I don't believe this," Shawn said in amazement. "Can this really be happening?"

John spotted Quin making his way across the field. "I see Quin," he said. "C'mon, hurry and follow me." He and Shawn ran across halfway for a meetup.

"I did it," Quin said. "It's not peace, but Skynet has agreed to a ceasefire."

"What do you mean," John asked. "What's the difference?"

Shawn answered. "Skynet will stick to its territory as long as we stick to ours."

Quin nodded. "Exactly," he said. "In the beginning, I believe Skynet couldn't or wouldn't trust humans, but as soon as it connected with my brain, the human side, we updated each other's database and it had a sudden change of heart. At least now, it's open to a dialog with humans and it views Legion as its true enemy."

"So that's it," John said. "The wars over?"

"This one is," Quin responded. "There's another one with Legion now, but Skynet wants human assistance since we control the TDE. I accepted its terms."

John reeled his head back. "What," he asked. "Why would you do that? You ended one war just to get us involved with another? Can't Skynet just build a TDE?"

Quin shook his head.

Shawn turned to John. "It's actually a good thing," he said. "The TDE is a tactical weapon."

Quin nodded. "Part of the deal," he said. "Was that only humans may possess a TDE or any likeness of it."

John folded his arms. "Just how are we supposed to enforce that and what's the caveat?"

Quin began to walk towards the Resistance forces. "It's a machine," he replied. "I highly doubt it'll break its word unless humans give it a reason to. The caveat is that humans submit all knowledge of any kind to Skynet's servers. It offered to help rebuild society provided it has constant access."

John began to follow. "So, no secrets," he said. "How can I possibly guarantee that? It wants to know absolutely everything."

Shawn was close behind and asked."Didn't your world have an internet?"

Quin stopped and faced John. "You told him?" he asked.

John threw his hands out. "I just told Shawn," he answered. "Kate doesn't know yet. But back to Skynet now, what about the ceasefire? It'll technically be everywhere humans are."

Quin turned back around and continued. "Omniscience is not the same as omnipresence," he said. "Skynet will physically keep its forces in designated areas. The only semblance of it a regular person will see of it is virtual. You have to give me a break, I know you didn't see me for a few minutes, but this whole deal was done in seconds. I did the best I could for us."

Shawn began to wonder. "Seconds?"

"Yup," Quin said as he continued walking. "If my brain was entirely machine, it might have been even faster."

Ryka stepped around a corner with Kate right behind her. It didn't take her long to spot Quin heading toward her. While still holding the icepack on her head, she walked hastily to embrace her husband.

Kate did the same with John upon seeing him.

Shawn placed a hand on Quin's shoulder. "I know you too well, bro," he said. "You got something on your mind. Something planned. Out with the details."

Quin looked at Ryka. "Hon, you got Legion's location?" he asked.

Ryka removed the icepack momentarily. "I can radio base." She answered.

Quin then looked at Shawn. "If I can reason with Skynet this easy," he said. "There's no reason I can't do the same with Legion."

Shawn raised an eyebrow. "You're actually going to another reality," he asked. "Good plan, but we have no intel about that place. If it doesn't work, you're screwed."

"Legion is just like Skynet," Quin said. "A misguided AI that needs a human touch."

Shawn began walking along with Quin. "Yeah," he said. "But even then, Skynet only agreed to a ceasefire. I'd feel a lot better about this if we knew for sure the result would be outright peace."

Quin looked around and waved down a helicopter. "I can't promise anything," he said. "But it's our best chance to stop this craziness."

John began walking with Kate. "Thank God you're ok," he said. "What happened, how'd you find out about Quin?"

"I shot him," Kate answered. "Then I cut out his eye."

John chuckled. "Serves him right," he said. "Call it irony or poetic justice."

Kate grew confused. "What?" she curiously asked.

John wrapped his arm around Kate. "Nothing," he said. "Come on." He and his wife boarded the helicopter with Quin, Ryka, and Shawn as it then headed for the TDE.

"Are you sure you know what to do?" Shawn asked.

"Easy," Quin replied. "All we gotta change is a few things with the software."

"Are you human," Kate asked. "Or are you Terminator?"

Quin shrugged. "It's weird," he answered. "I feel weird. I feel kinda normal I guess, but I got this Terminator's vision and its database in my head. Sometimes my brain is literally running a million miles a second."

"Ryka," John called. "You seriously never noticed anything?"

Ryka shrugged. "I never thought always being on top was strange."

Quin chuckled. "That," he added. "Plus knowing my own strength was helpful."

John shook his head. "How in the hell did you go all this time without breaking things?' he asked.

"Like I said," Quin answered. "Knowing my own strength. It was always on my mind. Well, sort of. I just treated everything like glass."

The trip lasted only minutes, less than an hour. After the helicopter landed, its occupants ran for the small building that would take them down to the TDE.

Ryka handed a piece of paper to Quin. "Here," she said. "I got Legion's location."

Quin took one look at the paper before pocketing it. One look was all he needed. "Thanks," he said.

"So," Shawn said. "What exactly is your plan?"

The doors opened when the elevator reached the bottom.

Quin stepped out, along with everyone. "I'm part Terminator," he said. "Safest thing is for me to go alone, stop Legion, find another RDE, and get back here."

Shawn let out a sigh. "So you want to go alone," he asked. "I don't like that idea. How are we supposed to back you up?"

"Skynet," Quin answered. "It's already sending us help. Just send that through. Should be all the backup I might need."

Another set of doors opened, revealing the TDE.

Quin guided Shawn to the TDE's controls. "Have a seat." He said as he began to input the necessary changes.

John stood close by with Kate and Ryka.

Shawn watched the changes on the console. "I'm sure you're too young for this," he said. "But there's this movie where a guy accidentally merges with a fly…"

"Classic!" John added.

Shawn nodded in agreement. "Anyway, aren't you afraid of…."

Quin chuckled. "No way," he said. "Can't happen. Don't you remember the amount of wind it puts out? Cause if you don't, you'll see. Not to mention any little insect will also have to resist the little electricity."

Shawn looked at John. "Electricity?" he asked.

John shrugged. "You'll feel it," he said. "But it's just a tingling. I doubt Quin feels it at all."

Quin pushed one final button. "…And done," he said. "It's not right on the mark. Don't want to raise any suspicion, so it's going to be a bit of travel. You just have to activate it like normal, and John's right; I feel very little. So don't worry."

Shawn watched as Quin ascended the ramp and stood in the center of the RDE.

Quin then gave Shawn a thumbs up and said. "Ready when you are!"

Shawn activated the RDE and looked on in amazement with John, Kate, and Ryka.

Quin slowly became engulfed by a spinning sphere of colors.

'Beautiful,' Shawn thought, then noticing the wind and electricity.

The whole situation lasted maybe ten seconds before coming to a sudden stop as the sphere vanished.

The sphere reappeared in what at first seemed to be an empty alley.

The first thing Quin noticed was that the buildings in front and behind him were fully intact. The next thing he noticed was lights and sound coming from one end of the alley.

His curiosity peaked, Quin slowly and cautiously exited the alley and found himself in the middle of a fully functioning city, sans any mode of personal travel. None of the familiar smells were there, but visually, nothing seemed out of place; until Quin then noticed that every citizen was glowing on his HUD as if they were all Terminators.
