Decided to do this oneshot drabble AU with aging Dipper up as I have plenty of Lincoln Loud and Dawn from Total Drama stories on my fanfiction account. Basically if Dipper was the older sibling and not a teen and Wendy's age; I figure that he would be more mature but still obsessed with the supernatural. Him and Wendy would not be him trying to awkwardly trying not to embarrass himself as he tries to impress the older cool teen girl that he is crushing on as a younger kid. Wendy could even be the one crushing on him since the younger her thought that he was cute when he and Mabel time travelled.
"...Today is the day that I Dipper Pines have come up with the perfect solution to tackle if you are faced with a Dream Hipster... The author of this journal would surely be impressed if he would ever learn about this..." smirked 15 year old Dipper Pines in the Mystery Shack in Gravity Falls. Coming across this town of weirdness that the residents seemed to be blind towards; including his con artist Gruncle Stan who his parents sent him to stay with for the summer with his kid sister Mabel.
They get a summer in this strange little town with him to stay and he gets a couple of unpaid employees. Especially since he was the same age as his teen cashier.
"Got another of your solutions to something else in your journal?" Wendy Corduroy asked with a smile from behind the register and seeing Dipper sitting down on his notebook putting down his research on this topic; the boy having his vest, Mystery Shack hat and the shirt he was wearing off his favourite paranormal research TV show. Technically speaking Dipper was supposed to help Wendy manning the register on Stan's orders but not much business at the moment and so he just had to be in the area to help with any problem or customer that shows up.
"You bet... Let's see the others in my class mock me for chasing the supernatural now..." Dipper then replied with a grin and Wendy raised an eyebrow.
"Sounds like you had a whole bunch of idiot losers in your class... Their loss if they don't see how great you are..." Wendy told him as he looked her way.
"Thanks from like the coolest girl I ever knew... Seriously; I don't know how Robbie could treat you like that... His loss..." Dipper then said as Wendy's cheeks turned red from his compliment. Wendy remembering how her and her friend group began inviting Dipper to hang out with them more and how he comforted her after how bad things worked out between her and Robbie; took her for a bite his treat...
Mabel however grinned from the door; Wendy was so crushing on Dipper... She loved her big brother but he was being clueless about Wendy's crush on him; too focused on the mysteries of the town...
Good thing that he had a little sister to help him out...
Sneaking away to Dipper's room and getting the journal with the number 3 in the middle of the six fingered hand. She then sneaked back to where the souvenirs were being sold and made sure that they didn't see her as she then went and placed the journal on the counter.
She then made her way back to the door; she watched as Wendy ended up noticing the journal being taken aback; "Uh Dipper... Isn't this your journal?" Wendy asked as Dipper blinked and noticed the journal in her hands.
"What? I thought that I left it in my room... Mum is always saying that I get too focused on my stuff that I forget about little details... If I lost this... Thanks so much Wendy; you're the best..." Dipper said with a smile and Wendy's face was a hundred percent red at the moment and Mabel gave herself a mental high five.
Going out the door but then noticing Wendy's friends by the window looking like they were hiding; "We saw what you did while we were spying..." Thompson said before being elbowed in the rib by one of them and Mabel blinked a bit scared. If Dipper found out...
However Tambry smirked and gave out a hand; "How about you be partners in crime and getting them together?" Tambry asked and Mabel couldn't agree quick enough.
