It was a nice sunny day in Minnesota, Piper and her dad were having a relaxing holiday and enjoying themselves that summer.

"Piper?" asked her father.

"Yes, Dad." replied Piper.

"I have been thinking long and hard about this but I have decided to... send you to boarding school."

"What?! No!"

"Piper, honey-"

"Don't 'honey' me! I am not going to boarding school!"

"Piper, listen-"

"No, I am not! Why would you do this to me?!"

"Piper, let me finish-"

"No! I hate you! I hate you so much!"

Piper ran out from the hotel room they were in and ran as fast as her legs could take her, she stopped running when she knew that no one could spot her but she knew she had to stop somewhere. She looked around and saw a convenience store called 'Coffee Mug Restaurant'. Piper knowing that she didn't have much of a choice; entered the restaurant. She found a seat and then sat down.

"You seem a little young to be sitting around by yourself." said a man.

"Oh, my dad is just filling some petrol. He'll be in soon."

"Ahh, yes. Your father... Tristan McLean?" said the man, holding a picture.

"Uhh..."

"You know, your father is a great actor and has a lot of money... how much do you think he'll be willing to pay for his only child?"

Piper was not an idiot, she knew what was going on, so she sprinted out of her seat and ran again. However, the man was fast and strong and managed to catch her with ease and lifted her off the ground, forcing her to obey him. She screamed desperately, but no one heard her.

"Stop screaming, girl!" ordered the man and kept his hand over her mouth.

"Oi!" shouted a woman.

The man turned around to see a brunette woman carrying a gun.

"Didn't your mama ever teach you not to hurt kids. Put the girl down or I'll shoot." said the woman.

"Lily!" said the man. "Let's be reasonable here..."

"I said put the girl down, Walter. You have five seconds to let her go or I'll shoot and you know I'm not messing around here."

"Lily let's-"

"Five."

"Lily!"

"Four."

"She's very famous you know-"

"Three."

"We can share the money and live a happy life-"

"Two."

"Fine!"

The man put Piper down and ran away.

"Thank you so much." thanked Piper.

"Eh, no need. It's okay."

"No, no! You saved my life!"

"It's really no need. I suggest you go home now."

"Actually... me and my dad are not on the best terms right now..."

"Oh... fine, come to my place."

Lily took Piper to her trailer home and they sat down.

"Know it's nothin' you rich kids can't handle but I'm proud of it." said Lily.

"No- no! It's... okay." replied Piper, looking at the state of the trailer.

"Want somethin' to eat?"

"No, it's okay. I ate earlier."

"So... rich dad?"

"Yeah..."

"You kinda remind me of myself. Me and my dad never got along very well."

"Neither does mine... he never pays any attention towards me."

"Exactly! He only wants what he wishes for me because it's the 'best' option. It was as if I was invisible."

"Precisely! He wants to send me to boarding school."

"I would have been killed for boarding school, got me away from my sick dad and mom."

"Oh, I don't hate my dad, he just... doesn't understand..."

"Well my parents abandoned me and left me to rot, I moved in with my boyfriend and then he forced me to help him in a robbery and then my life went crumbling down even worse after that. I changed my name and moved here."

"So your name's not Lily?"

"Oh, it is. I go by Starla here but no one knows that I'm really Lily. Lily Page died and it was that idiot Walter that helped me escape."

"Wow that... sucks."

"Yeah, life could've been worse for you. Walter must have known that your dad cares for you in order to ask for a ransom."

"Yeah, I guess so..."

"See? Life's not whole bad."

"I guess it isn't..."

"You have a dad who cherishes you. My parents aren't even my real ones."

"You're... adopted?"

"Yeah, foster care. They adopted me but... things didn't work well."

"Have you ever found your real parents?"

Lily stayed quiet for a bit and then replied, "Nah. They left me, why should I look for them? Left me to rot in the middle of the woods..."

"I'm so sorry..." replied Piper.

"It's okay. I'm just... trying to bring my life back together."

"Do you miss them?"

"Excuse me?"

"Do you miss your real parents? It must be hard not knowing why they left."

"Well, when I was about your age I wore this necklace around my neck, it was the last thing that reminded me of my real mother."

"Do you still wear it?"

"Not much anymore... I've learnt that she won't be coming to find me..."

"Mhmm..."

"Anyway, I have a small errant to run. I'll be back."

Lily left the trailer and Piper was left to think about what just happened. She decided to clear her head after a while of thinking about what she did to her father and went into a different room. Here however seemed... different. There was an investigator's board (made out of only cardboard and ribbons) there and several pictures of... fairy tale characters?

"What is this?" asked Piper and tried to look a bit further.

There were not just fairy tale pictures but also human pictures. Piper had no idea who it was as she didn't really know her stories that well but it was a black-haired woman that looked so beautiful and she was with animals and she was connected to a handsome man who looked like a hunter. Though they seemed like heroes, they were marked with an 'x'. There was also a blonde young girl in a jacket'private investigator' and there were ribbons connecting to the two fairy tale characters. There was also a sticky note with a name on it but before Piper could read it, Lily returned.

"Hey!" shouted Lily, furious.

"Sorry, Lily. I had no-" gasped Piper, scared.

"Get out!"

"What?"

"You heard me. Leave!"

"Lily-"

"I still have a gun! I am not afraid to shoot!"

Piper was scared now and so she pushed past Lily and ran out of the house and away. She suddenly clashed into a man.

"Piper!" gasped her father. "Oh! You've been gone for so long! I missed you so much!"

However, her father saw a look of fear and sadness on Piper's face.

"What happened?" asked her father.

"You were right, dad. I will go to that boarding school, it may be for the better."

"Well I'm glad you're in," smiled her father. "Oh, you'll love it!"

"I'm sure I will..."

"I know you will! It is such a great place! It's called 'Wilderness School' and it will be amazing!"
