The sprawling metropolis of Tokyo-3 was a stark contrast to the serene landscapes Tails was used to. Towering skyscrapers pierced the sky, and the angular, geometric architecture of the city seemed almost alien. Yet, nestled among the concrete giants, he found himself in a strangely familiar, if somewhat imposing, place – the headquarters of NERV.

Tails, his twin tails swinging gently, looked up at the imposing figure of Misato Katsuragi. Her purple hair was pulled back in its usual style, but today something was different. A massive steel collar encircled her neck, a thick chain dangling from it, further emphasizing its gargantuan size. It was an unsettling sight, yet Misato's grin was as warm and welcoming as ever. Beside her stood a man with long, dark hair and piercing eyes, his black armor and sword adding to his imposing presence - Ashram, the Black Knight of Marmo.

"Hey, it's you guys!" Tails chirped, his voice filled with genuine excitement.

Misato chuckled, a slightly strained sound given the weight of the collar, "Yep. It's us, Tails."

Ashram nodded, his gaze intense yet kind, "Hey there, Tails. Shinji Ikari told me about you. He said you were quite the inventor."

Before Tails could respond, Misato and Ashram enveloped him in a warm group hug, a reassuring gesture that sent a wave of comfort through the little fox. Tails giggled, enjoying the unexpected affection.

"Come on, let me show you NERV HQ," Misato said, her hand resting on Tails's head. "We've got some friends we think you'll like."

They walked together, Misato's heavy collar jingling softly with each step, Ashram's imposing figure a reassuring presence. As they approached the main entrance of NERV HQ, Tails's eyes widened. It was a hive of activity. People in NERV uniforms bustled about, and among them were groups of hardened-looking soldiers in Marmo armor. They were talking, gesturing, and working seamlessly together.

"That's NERV HQ," Misato announced proudly, a bit of her usual, playful tone back. "Pretty impressive, huh?"

"Yeah, it's amazing!" Tails exclaimed, his eyes darting around, taking it all in.

Suddenly, a chill wind seemed to whip through the air, and an unsettling darkness descended. From the shadows, a figure emerged – tall and menacing, cloaked in black, with piercing red eyes that glowed ominously. The figure's presence filled the air with a palpable sense of dread.

"I have come for Tails," the figure rasped, his voice deep and echoing like the depths of a cavern.

Panic rippled through the crowd. Marmo soldiers drew swords, NERV personnel scrambled for their weapons.

"The enemy!" a Marmo soldier shouted, his voice tight with alarm. "A black-hooded man!"

Misato gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in shock. "Oh dear god," she whispered, her eyes fixed on the figure. The playfulness was gone, replaced by a steely determination.

Ashram reacted instantly. His black gauntlet shot to the hilt of his sword, Soul Crusher, and the blade shimmered into existence. He stepped in front of Tails, positioning himself as a formidable barrier. Misato drew her pistol, a standard-issue NERV firearm, and took a defensive stance beside him.

"Don't worry, Tails," Ashram said, his voice low and reassuring. "We won't let him touch you."

Misato nodded, her expression grim. "We've got you covered."

The battle was swift and brutal. Ashram launched forward, his movements a blur of black steel, clashing with the cloaked figure whose attacks were just as swift. Misato fired her pistol, peppering the figure with bullets that seemed to have little effect. Marmo soldiers let loose volleys of arrows, and NERV personnel fired their own weaponry, filling the air with the sounds of battle.

Just as it seemed the mysterious figure would overwhelm them, a new presence joined the fight. Pirotess, a regal warrior with long blonde hair and a determined gaze, and a group of dark elves emerged from the shadows, swords drawn and ready to fight. Their movements were fluid and precise, a stark contrast to the figure's chaotic attacks.

"Surrender now!" Pirotess commanded, her voice ringing with authority as she pointed her sword at the figure.

The combined might of the Marmo soldiers, NERV personnel, and the dark elves began to push the cloaked figure back. The figure was surrounded.

"I'll be back for Tails!" the figure hissed, a chilling promise in its guttural voice. "I'll have my revenge!" And with that, the figure vanished as quickly as it had appeared, leaving behind an eerie silence.

A cheer rose from the combined forces. The sense of victory filled the air, and the tension began to dissipate.

Pirotess approached Tails, her expression softening. "You are safe now, little one," she said, a hint of warmth in her tone.

Ashram sheathed his sword, his gaze still watchful. "Yes, that black hooded man attacked us, but they will be back," he stated.

Misato knelt beside Tails, her hand gently patting his head. "I hope you're alright, Tails. Things get a little crazy around here sometimes, it's like that since the second impact."

"We will keep you safe, Tails." Ashram said, a rare smile gracing his lips.

And in that moment, surrounded by his new protectors, Tails felt a sense of belonging he hadn't anticipated. He giggled, the sound echoing through the cavernous space, and Misato, Ashram, and Pirotess joined in, their laughter a testament to the unlikely bond they had formed, a powerful friendship forged in the face of a dark and mysterious threat. The threat was defeated for now, but they all knew, in their hearts, that it was a battle they might face again. Until then, they would look out for each other and keep Tails safe, as was their solemn vow.
