For Brooklyn, Elisa allowed him to stay one more night at her place since even though he had his memories back, Goliath declared he couldn't go out on patrols for quite a while.
The young gargoyle at the moment was rather out of it, having hugged himself for a while on the couch, a bead of sweat on his head from having heard about Thailog using him in his dirty deeds, and even killing humans. Brooklyn swallowed, staring at his talons, knowing these killed possible innocent lives. His eyes stung with some tears until Hudson came over after landing, a hand on his shoulder, making Brooklyn jump, turning around with fear in his face at the sight of Hudson.
"Is time to go home, lad. Are you ready to?" He asked gently, seeing Brooklyn's eyes rather red but Brooklyn rubbed them weakly, sniffling and nodding.
"Y-Yeah. I don't want to keep Elisa from her job anymore." He croaked, standing up weakly, Elisa looking concerned for him.
"Are you sure you can glide home? You haven't used your wings in a while." She said. Brooklyn flapped his wings, which were a little stiff but he really wanted to stretch them again. "I know, but I want to exercise them again."
Goliath looked rather proud of his second but was still worried for how timid and soft Brooklyn's voice had been but could understand since his own clone had been the one to pretty much 'rape' his second's mind while he had no memories. He vowed now after all that he would never consider Thailog as a son. He was a demon spawn version of him, nothing more. Brooklyn now Goliath was seeing as his real son.
"We'll give you all the support you need Brooklyn, into getting used to being yourself again, we promise." Goliath said soothingly. Brooklyn flinched from how eerily it sounded like Thailog. The young gargoyle looking up at his leader in fright but nodded again.
Brooklyn and Elisa both hugged one another goodbye, and that Elisa said she would see him again real soon as Brook was led to the window. Hudson took hold of Brooklyn's hand who looked nervously out the window, eyes darting back and forth for signs of that black demon gargoyle. His body shook but enjoyed the breeze flowing against his wings.
Hudson smiled encouragingly at the younger one. "Come on, lad. I'll be right here."
Taking heavy breaths, Brooklyn raised his wings, and eventually jumping from the window, Hudson gliding alongside him. Brooklyn had his eyes squeezed shut but didn't feel himself falling so much. Peeking his eyes open, Brooklyn realized the wind currents were actually lifting him into the air, a small smile of relief on his face, having missed gliding when not suffering amnesia. He knew he didn't want to have amnesia ever again.
At first, Brooklyn nearly stumbled in the air halfway home to the clock tower, but was supported by Goliath and Hudson, feeling grateful he wasn't gliding alone but then saw the clock tower getting closer, his ears pinned back, dreading when he had to face his brothers. What if he hurt Lex while in his amnesia state? Did he harm Goliath? Or Broadway? His stomach filled with bile just thinking about that.
Soon, the three of them managed to land onto the parapets of the clock tower, Brooklyn's legs feeling like jelly upon landing since he was still getting used to his current memories again. Hudson helped him limp inside, hearing Bronx bark and making Brooklyn tense up, seeing the gar dog he now remembered. Hudson rubbed his arm. "Don't be afraid of Bronx, ye still remember him, right?"
Brooklyn nodded, allowing himself to hold out his hand for Bronx, who instantly went up, knowing now that his Red Master was back to normal, woofing comfortingly before nuzzling his head underneath Brooklyn's hand. The warmth of Bronx's skin made Brooklyn feel a little lighter, also looking around the clock tower. This was his home. He remembered now. He heard more voices coming from the clock tower entrance, which made Brooklyn tense up.
Broadway and Lexington appeared, both of them looking excited but apprehensive. Brooklyn stayed close to Hudson as the green gargoyle walked on all fours up to his older brother, uncertainty in his gaze. "Hey, it's just us, bro. You remember?"
The red gargoyle swallowed, but gave a tired looking smile with another nod as Lexington offered a hug, taking Brooklyn's hand carefully. Brooklyn shuddered at first from his touch but accepted, eventually hugging his younger brother. He knew he needed this after so long under Thailog's power.
Tears fell even more down his face as his voice came as a shaky whisper. "I'm sorry if I had hurt you at all." He croaked, Lexington shrugging with his own saddened smile. "No big deal now, bro. You're back with us now. Come on."
Broadway and Lexington both guided Brooklyn back into their home where he really belonged, having gotten a spare bed for him to rest on during his final recovery time, having placed it near the tv. Brooklyn looked about at his familiar surroundings, his happiness growing a little further, hoping he would never have amnesia ever again.
Hudson turned to Broadway while Lexington helped Brooklyn sit down on the chair. "Will you make some soup for the lad? He'll need a proper meal to help him recover mentally."
Broadway nodded. "Of course." He would do anything to make sure his brothers ate right, going to the kitchen area instantly to make soup.
"Do you want to eat?" Goliath asked Brooklyn gently, trying not to be as intimidating as possible, though with his looks and demeanor, he could almost be like Thailog at times.
Brooklyn looked up at his leader but his vision flickered into seeing Thailog in Goliath's place again, swallowing thickly and shaking his head. "Don't… feel like it…" He croaked.
Despite being back to normal again, Brooklyn just couldn't get Thailog out of his head now being told about it, but eventually had another question, one he dreaded asking. "Did I… hurt you or anybody else besides humans?" He asked in a choked voice, imagining a demented version of himself slaughtering humans to please a dark twin of his leader.
The lavender gargoyle had a hand on his chest when remembering the version of his second named Ravage having given him those. "Yes… We tried getting you back before you and Thailog attacked Xanatos. But then…" Goliath's words eventually failed him, not wanting to say it anymore, making Brooklyn's tears come again, holding his legs close to him.
"You-you should stay away from me then! If I hurt you then I'm dangerous!" Brooklyn exclaimed out of his frightened nerves, Goliath trying to comfort him by putting his hand on his shoulder but Brooklyn jerked out of it. "No! I'll get you hurt if you touch me!" He sobbed, quickly getting up and running over to a far corner of the clock tower, holding himself, hoping none of his clan, especially Goliath, would come over to him.
Goliath stared at what happened, not realizing how much it had affected Brooklyn even if he couldn't remember, wanting to snap Brooklyn out of the mindset he was currently in, but figured it could be best if he left the younger one alone for now.
Bronx woofed softly again, trotting over to Brooklyn's side. Even if his master kept saying he was dangerous, that didn't stop Bronx from wanting to cuddle with Brooklyn. Brooklyn tensed from the feeling of the gar dog nuzzling him but eventually leaned into it, willing to accept Bronx into his circle for the moment since Bronx didn't judge him like the others.
Lexington watched this interaction from afar, feeling heartbroken at the thought of his red brother labeling himself as dangerous, wondering if Brooklyn would ever be his normal confident self ever again. Brooklyn kept hugging Bronx, gritting his teeth as constant visions of Thailog hit him along with his evil laugh echoing in his mind, wanting this hurt and pain to stop.
