Down in Hell, at the famous Hazbin Hotel... Emily was running on like... maybe an hour of sleep for the week... and her twelfth gallon of Coffee.
"You okay, Kid?" Husk asked.
Emily took her head off the bar, so many bags under her eyes that she looked ready to board a month long vacation. She looked at the cat wearing the white suit with a glowing halo above his head.
"Redeeming sinners ain't easy Husk, but someone has to do it." Emily said, raising a mug with the words 'Holy Hell' on it, "Had to break out my favorite mug... I want to go to bed."
"Well, you can rest if you want." Husk said, "You've redeemed every sinner in the hotel this week, and I really am only here right now to keep you from drinking yourself stupid."
"... Bold of you to assume I haven't done that already." Emily said, quirking an eyebrow. "But hey, if you want to close the bar and head back to the others in heaven, I'll close the hotel for a few days. Not like anything is going to happen if I do."
The doors of the hotel suddenly opened, making Emily and Husk turn and see Sera, who looked very panicked.
"Emily, I need you to-" Sera stopped when she saw what Emily was wearing.
It was not her usual suit and tie attire... she was wearing a single sweater, that was so big it went to her knees, and nothing else.
"What are you wearing?" Sera asked, feeling very awkward.
'She never looked like that in heaven.' Sera thought.
"Just be glad that I decided to put panties on under it." Emily said, drinking more coffee, "What's the matter?"
"Lucifer... he's... he's in the hospital." Sera said.
Emily's eyes went wide, dropping her coffee mug.
"What!?" She screamed.
"I need you to come with me to Heaven." Sera said.
"H-H-Heaven?" Emily asked.
Last time she thought about heaven was 20 years ago.
"Husk, get everything closed down." Emily said, snapping her fingers.
The snap made her clothes change to the attire she started wearing a few months ago. It was a lot like Lucifer's outfit, except instead of the red, she opted for Black. She adjusted her hat and fixed her mug before setting it down in the bar counter.
"I have to tell Vel that I'll have to rain check our outing tonight." Emily said, pulling out her phone.
She dialed Velvette's number. She put her phone to her ear and waited for Velvette to pick up. Thankfully, it took no time at all for Velvette to pick up.
"Hey, Emmy, how's my favorite Fallen angel doing?" Velvette asked.
"Not in a great mood! In a very bad and anxious mood!" Emily said over the phone.
"What's wrong?" Velvette asked.
Emily heard the sound of wing coming out on the other side of the phone.
"Do I have to fly over there and fuck someone up? I'll do it!"
"No. I appreciate it, I don't need you to do that. It's... about dad." Emily said, "I'm going to have to cancel our plans for tonight."
"Cancel girl's night? It must be really important." Velvette said.
"Yeah, I need to go to heaven to see him." Emily said.
"Hey, you do what you gotta do." Velvette said, "Try and stay safe, if something happened to the Prince of Pride up there, then who knows what else is there."
"I don't even want it imagine that but I'm gonna make sure nothing else happens." Emily said.
"Alright, stay safe." Velvette said, before making kissing noises, "Kisses darling."
"Ugh." Emily said, hearing a laugh on the other end before hanging up, "Alright, Husk, everything closed up?"
"Just about, kid. We ready to head up to the clouds." Husk said with a nod, adjusting his tie.
"I must warn you before we leave." Sera said, "... It was not a good sight. There... is a lot of destruction. At least one building has been leveled, another under heavy repairs. Whatever caused this... we don't know if it's still there."
"There or not, nothing is going to stop me from seeing dad. And if whatever hurt him is STILL in heaven, I'll make it part with my foot in its ass!" Emily said with a glare.
'Even 15 years later, I'm not used to hearing that type of language come from her.' Sera thought.
Sera opened a portal to heaven above them, allowing the three of them to fly into it.
'Okay, Em, no issue, you've only been gone from heaven for 20 years, no big deEEEEEE-That's a building collapsed, what the fuck happened!?' Emily thought.
Husk was also in shock, nearly losing his hat as he and Emily came to a halt mid air to stare at the damages.
"I've... only been in hell for an hour, adjusting his hat." Husk said, "What happened since I left?"
"Nobody knows for sure. All we know is that it started with the clouds turning gray like a storm was forming." Sera said to them.
"We can worry about that later... I need to see dad." Emily said.
"He's in the hospital, follow me." Sera said as she flew to the place.
They arrived at the hospital, located inside of the home of the archangels. Emily rushed inside, before Husk and Sera could catch up. She burst through the door and saw Lucifer in a bed, with a blood bag attached to him and most of his body wrapped up.
"Dad!" Emily said, rushing over to the unconscious Archangel, "Oh my... what the fuck happened!?"
"We don't know." Raphael said, walking over to Emily, "Whatever did this... only he knows, and sadly, we can't ask him."
Before Emily could say something, the sound of bird feet running on the floor could be heard coming closer.
"Here she comes." Emily said, moving away from the bed.
The door was kicked open.
"Grandpa!" Lucy yelled, rushing over to the bed as Charlie and Vaggie walked in behind her.
Though her face didn't say it, you could tell Charlie was very scared, as she was gripping her staff so much that it threatened to break. Vaggie held Charlie's arm to try and comfort her.
"Who did this?" Lucy asked, "WHO DID THIS!?"
She reached to her hips and took her custom 44 magnums out of their holster.
One had a black handle, with a red chamber and barrel with a small red pentagram weapon charm attached to it, while the word Morningstar was engraved on the barrel in a Heavy Metal Font.
The other one had a white handle, with a gold chamber and barrel with a small gold cross weapon charm attached to it, with Morningstar engraved on the barrel in a fancy cursive font.
Inside both was bullets made out of angelic steel. She commissioned them from Carmilla Carmine.
"I'll flip heaven and hell upside down and put a few holes in them!" Lucy yelled, her tail swinging behind her.
"Princess Lucille, are you mad?!" Sera asked in shock.
"YES! I am VERY MAD!" Lucy shouted at Sera. "And anyone that wants to stop me will get filled with lead!"
"Lucy, on that we can agree, but let's not do this in a hospital please." Vaggie said to her daughter.
Lucy took a few deep breaths and put her guns back in their holsters. Lucy was a very big "Grandpa's Girl" and seeing him like this hurt her... a lot.
"What's grandpa's condition? When will we wake up?" Lucy asked, turning to Raphael.
"I... I don't know." Raphael said, shaking his head. "This... whoever or whatever attacked him wasn't just trying to maim him, they were trying to kill him. They only seemed to underestimate his durability, which is why he wasn't killed."
"But he might be scarred, that one in his face is real nasty." Vaggie said, seeing the claw marks in Lucifer's face.
"This will fade mostly but he will have scars. Proof that whatever did this was powerful." Raphael said, striking his chin. "But what in Heaven, Hell, and Earth could be so powerful to do this?"
"Who knows." Emily said, "But clearly this wasn't a random attack, no one is dumb enough to attack dad without wanting something."
"But what could they want after reducing him to this and destroying an entire building?" Charlie asked.
"There's no telling." Raphael said.
"But we will be investigating it. Who ever did this will be brought to justice." Sera said.
"Good." Emily said, "Because whoever did this is looking for a fight."
'A fight? This seems more like an act of war.' Husk thought, feeling the anger and tension in the room.
"Sera, call the council, we need to make sure everyone knows what is going on." Raphael said to the 2nd highest ranking angel.
"Right away, sir." Sera said before leaving the hospital through the window, flying off.
