Chapter 6: Hunting Season (Part 2)

"Hello, pal. Wake up!"

The young policeman slowly opened his eyes and noticed how he had fallen asleep in his chair while investigating. The first thing he saw was the person who had woken him up. His mentor and partner Miranda.

"Good morning. I see you were here all night investigating. Here, I brought you a cappuccino so you can wake up well" The lobster woman gave him a plastic cup with the hot drink. He decided to drink it and noticed how the rest of the guppies continued with the investigation.

"Hmmmm….Does it bother you that my friends have come to help in the investigation? I mean, it's not allowed by protocol and..." Gil asked his partner until she interrupted him.

"I know…..But Anderson allowed it... as an exceptional case. I must admit that your friends have made good progress. I have even received reports from the CoralReefy Police Department. It won't be long before we discover Molly's possible whereabouts" Miranda answered him. Those words sounded like good news to the blue haired boy.

"Do you know something? Bubble Guppies can do amazing things when they put their minds to it" Gil smiled proudly for his group of friends.

"I have no doubt about that, mate" Miranda agreed. Before the police couple could discuss the case, the guppy received a call at that precise moment. Gil did not take long to answer the call received.

"Huh? Hello?" He greeted the person who called him.

"Hi, pretty boy!"

"Oh! Darcy?! Is it you?" Gil asked surprisedly when he identified the voice.

"Of course it's me!"

"What a surprise. And what is the call for? You're not usually like that" He asked curiously.

"Hmmm….I was informed what happened to your fiancée...I don't usually say this but...I'm really sorry. But I'm not calling you just to feel sorry for you. I want to inform you that we have escalated this case" Darcy told him on the other side of the phone.

"What do you mean by that?" Gil was confused.

"I mean, investigators have raised the alert on Molly's disappearance. Now the other police departments in towns near BubbleTucky have joined the search. Alex is leading patrols in and around GrayStone City. Todd is working with cyber agents to find something in surveillance cameras and drones. And I and my SWAT teams are conducting raids in areas where there are kidnapping gangs or members of human trafficking gangs. We are analyzing any detail in depth, even if it is minimal. Thanks Anderson and a couple of guys who must be friends of yours who sent me part of the research" Darcy explained about her job with the rest of agents. Gil guessed that those two friends were Nonny and Urchin who were still using computers. Without a doubt, he was surprised by all the help received. Not only from his guppy friends, but he also had the help of his friends and colleagues from the police department. Whether they are from BubbleTucky or from other nearby areas. There really were a lot of people involved in the search for the leader of the Bubble Guppies.

"Thank you so much for all you are doing for me. Thanks for the help, Darcy"Gil said with gratitude.

"It's nothing...just...it's part of the job" She said nervously. She really felt weird when she was nice or friendly. "Ahem ... .Thank me when we find her. I have to go, we'll raid other possible hideouts. I'll give you news if we find anything. Take care, Gil"

"OK. See you later, Darcy" The call had ended. Immediately, he decided to resume his work. It was time to analyze the latest information that had been found. The answers were closer than expected. It is only a matter of conducting a detailed study. Hopes of finding her increased. But there was an important question: Will they find her alive?

We return to the sinister forest, where Molly was lucky enough to meet a new survivor of Blake's inhuman hunt, named Delilah. Although they didn't know each other very well, an alliance in desperate times sounded like the most reliable option to get out of there alive. Although it doesn't sound logical, both decide to walk slowly in order to detect the traps in time and avoid any fatal injury. They were both silent, always on the lookout for traps or Blake himself who might be lurking nearby. Despite the unfavorable atmosphere, Molly decided to strike up a chat with her.

"Huh…Mmmm…Delilah, right? Hey... I don't know if it's very appropriate but... how did you end up here?" Molly asked her quietly.

"Hmmmm….Well, I guess it was an unremarkable story. I went to buy some things in the middle of the night. I felt like someone was following me, but since I couldn't see anyone, I decided to ignore it...(sigh) Serious mistake. Right at that moment...WHACK!...I felt like someone hit me hard on the head and I fell unconscious...Then I woke up in Blake's cabin...he told me the typical phrase he says to all his victims and...since then I'm still here, trying to survive alone in the traps of that maniac...And what about you, Molly?" Delilah explained her story.

"In my case...I was going to CoralReefy when one of my car's tires blew out. I was left in the middle of the road with no sign and no extra tire. Then, a county policeman showed up to "help" me...I didn't know that guy turned out to be Blake in disguise. He tricked me into the trunk of his car and... WHACK! He hit me on the head and I fell unconscious…" Molly told her until she got interrupted.

"And the story repeats itself with you….And here we are….It's funny...I come from Graystone City..." She said it.

"I´m from Bubbletucky" The guppy replied.

"Distant neighbors, that's what I see..." The lobster woman commented. They both continued on their way in silence. The new girl didn't look very talkative.

"And...how long have you been...here?" Molly asked with curiosity.

"I dunno…..I lost count of the days from the third day. Here I feel that the days are longer...You know...avoiding traps and Blake" Delilah answered quietly.

"And you think someone is looking for you?" The pink haired girl asked innocently. That question was not to the liking of her new partner.

"Hmmm…Nope" She just replied like this.

"What? Not even a dad? Or mom? Sibling? Any friend or….?" Molly asked surprisedly. Her new ally just rolled her eyes.

"Parents? They never care. I don't have brothers or sisters... And friends? So that? They are a waste of time" Delilah commented with a bitter tone.

"How? Do you really have no one?" The guppy girl asked shocked.

"What about you?" She asked directly.

"My parents...My sister...My friends...And even my fiancé...I'm sure they must be looking for me right now" Molly said touching her own chest.

"Do you really trust them that much? Bah... that's absurd" She crossed her arms.

"Why do you say that?" Our leader guppy asked surprised.

"Trusting others is the worst thing you can do. Listen, girl, in all these years I've managed to get along perfectly with my life alone. I have only trusted three people: Me, Myself and I. I never needed anyone. No one was there for me and the truth... I never needed anyone other than myself" Delilah explained her own confidence.

"But... Why are we working together if you say you don't need anyone else?" Molly raised an eyebrow.

"Do you think I saved you because I needed your help? Don't make me laugh...I only did it because I felt sorry for you. That's all...(sigh) We can stop talking about nonsense and find a way out of this place" The lobster woman wanted to put an end to the awkward conversation.

"Y…Yeah…Let's be very careful" The young adult guppy said quietly. Not wanting to talk anymore, both continued their journey in silence. It's going to be a long day for both of them.

Elsewhere in the woods, we see the infamous people hunter Blake stalking every corner of the woods with his always-loaded hunting rifle.

"Come on, pinkie, get out of wherever you are! I promise a quick death! I know you are close!" Blake said as he slowly made his way through the woods. As he was walking, he saw how a bush moved. He just smiled and pointed his rifle at that bush "Gotcha, pinkie!" BANG! He fired and many birds flew away from the shock of the shot. He just walked over to the bush and saw a body "Oh!...Great….It was just a silly bunny. Well...at least I'll have rabbit for the soup" He said disappointed that he hadn't finished off his main prey. At that moment, a call came through his cell phone.

RING! RING!

"(sigh) Great….." Blake decided to take out his cell phone to answer the call "Ahem…Greetings"

"Well, Mr. Blake? Have you captured my target yet?"

"Oh! Hi, Miss Cadaverini….I have the pinkie girl in my hands…." He said with a confident tone of voice.

"And is she already dead?"

"W…Well….Let's say she's playing one of my deadly games" Blake confused nervously.

"WHAT?! STUPID GOOD FOR NOTHING HITMAN! I PAY YOU TO KILL HER?!"

"Hold it there, cowgirl. You remember our agreement: "I can use the method that I want". Well, my favorite method is to play hunter and hunt with my victims. And I can assure you that one hundred percent of my victims do not survive. And believe me, I love that part of my job" The hunter explained to her his modus operandi.

"Hmpt…..Well you know? It's time to change the deal. Pay attention...Execute her immediately...and not only that...I want you to record it and send me that video. Oh...and when you kill her, do it slowly. She deserves to suffer slowly. And I know you love those kinds of executions"

"Yes I know... but let me enjoy the hunt..." He tried to tell her.

"Do it and I promise...Double the initial price!"

"Wow... you're crazy! It's too much money. With that money I could retire for life... Hehehe... I accept... I love sadism and money equally. Very well, Miss Cadaverini, we have a deal" Immediately, he ended the call. He decided to reload his hunting rifle and laughed like mad "Oh pinkieeeeee! The fun has just begun!"

We returned to the girls who were lost in the forest. The atmosphere was tense and chilling with that fog and wet trees from a drizzle. They watched every step they took to avoid hidden traps in the forest. Molly managed to meet Delilah, although she realized that she was not a very social person. She assumes that it is because of her independence from others and in turn her distrust of others. Still, she seemed like someone who could be trusted in those dire circumstances.

"Have you thought that we could be walking in circles?" Molly commented her idea to her partner.

"Now that you mention it...I've seen the same disarmed trap like twice...Hmmmm we must find another point to reorganize our route. Let's take some other path" Delilah pointed to another way. They both began to walk slowly, just at that moment... The lobster woman tripped over a thick root and made her fall to a false floor "Ahhhhh!"

"Delilah!" Molly screamed. Her companion managed to hold on to the shore to save herself from certain death, because she discovered that it was a trap. The floor had a fake floor to make it fall into a pit with sharp stakes. Luckily, the well was deep and just barely, she was not injured. But she didn't know how much longer she could hold out.

"Grrrrr…..Molly….Get out of here! Leave me here alone!" Delilah ordered seriously.

"Are you crazy? I'm not going to leave you alone" Molly decided to extend her hand to help her to get up.

"Get out of here! This trap must have attracted Blake... And he will kill us both! So get out now!" She insisted that she must let her die.

"Don't be stubborn! Take my hand now! I have you!" She refused to let her die. She took her hand and used all of her strength to pull her out of the deadly pit. The girl simply accepted her help and the guppy managed to get her out of danger. Immediately, they decided to sneak behind a bush and fell silent. A few seconds later, Blake appeared with two hunting knives in his hands and carefully approached the active trap. Both girls looked nervous and tried to keep their heavy breaths from making noise.

"Hmmmm…..This trap...has been activated recently...Hehehe...I know she´s here...I can feel it" Blake said evilly. They knew that he could find them soon. So Molly decided to take a stone carefully and threw it towards another bush causing a noise that caught the attention of the murderer "Huh? Hehehe….Here´s Blake!" The assassin lunged into the bush, intending to plunge his knives into his prey. But he only managed to stick the knives into an old log. He simply took the weapons back from him, disappointed that he had been wrong "I know you're close, Molly! I'll find you!" Saying that furiously, Blake ran off to continue looking for her elsewhere. When the footsteps were no longer heard, they could breathe easy again.

"(Phew) That was close…." Molly said, relieved.

"Ugh….Yeah…" Delilah said quietly "So…You…You saved me…."

"Of course...I would never leave you alone" The pink-haired girl said confidently.

"But why? Why did you risk your life to save a stranger like me?" Delilah asked confusedly.

"It was the right thing. Also, it's what Bubble Guppies do: Help others" The guppy said with a small smile.

"Hmmm….Either you are very good-natured, or you are an idiot. I confess that if I had been in your place... I would have left" Delilah shared her point.

"What? Would you really let me die if I need your help?" Molly said surprisedly.

"Hmtp please…..I've already told you before. I only care about living my life...the lives of others are irrelevant to me" The lobster woman commented

"Are you telling me that's how you thank me after saving your life?" Molly asked a bit bothered.

"I never asked you to save my life to begin with!" She crossed her arms "Only stupid people trust others. Friends? Companions? They only serve to develop stupid feelings that limit us...And if you think that because you saved my life we are friends...Then you are stupid...You know something, Molly? I saved your life...and you just saved my life...we already paid the debt..." She decided to turn her back on her.

"Delilah, what the hell are you doing?! We must be together to survive against Blake" Molly tried to convince her to reconsider.

"Do you know something? I've always been better off doing things alone. Besides, having you would only slow me down and make me easy prey. Goodbye Molly...I hope you see your loved ones again..." Delilah said before quickly fleeing the scene, disappearing into the mist.

"Wait! Delilah! Delilah!...Oh!" She covered her mouth realizing she shouldn't make loud noises due to the danger she was exposed to. Molly just sighed and decided to take a different path than her mate...or so she thought. She didn't understand Delilah's strange behavior. It was like she was damaged, so damaged that she can't trust anyone. Molly decided not to sit still and get out of there immediately. She didn't want to run into Blake again.

We return to the headquarters of the BubbleTucky Police Department. Where the guppies and some agents continued in the investigation without ceasing. They had accumulated more than 24 hours and still did not plan to stop. Some guppies exchanged turns eating, resting and sometimes sleeping. The hard work finally paid off when someone called out to everyone to stop what they were doing to pay attention.

"Attention everyone, we have finally found something important" It was Nonny with Urchin. The other guppies and agents decided to pay attention "Very good. After receiving a lot of vital information from the other police departments and after the analysis of the information from the traffic police we have managed to arrive at the following data. Molly went missing at 9am yesterday, approximately 12 miles from BubbleTucky on the highway that connects to CoralReefy. We found tire tracks near Molly's car that don't match her car. And they have the same amount of creation time. Obviously, a strange vehicle is involved" Nonny explained the details. Urchin decided to continue with the same line of analysis as his friend.

"Thanks to access to the police department's criminal database, we have come to the conclusion that a certain person could be connected: Blake, known as the people hunter. There's still information about him that we can't access because of the confidentiality of the system, but what we can find out is that most of his attacks have occurred near points where Molly disappeared. We do not rule out the possibility that Molly has been kidnapped by...Blake" Urchin said seriously. But inside, he was scared like all the other Bubble Guppies.

"It just can't be! Was Molly...killed by Blake?!" Oona asked scaredly.

"I couldn't answer that question" Nonny answered quietly. He was the best at hiding his concern. He seemed to have his usual expression, but that was just a facade so as not to show his true concern.

"Blake the hunter is a serial killer who has attacked the cities of Graystone and CoralReefy for years. We do not know the real number of victims, the calculations indicate about 24 victims. The bodies have never been found. But... most of the disappearances have occurred on that same highway..." One of the agents explained a bit about the killer´s record.

"I swear if that guy did something to Molly...I will… !" Deema clenched her fists in annoyance.

"She is in mortal danger! What are we going to do?" Zooli asked worriedly.

"There is no time to lose. Miranda, set up a patrol on the side of the freeway in BubbleTucky and call the CoralReefy Police Department and had them close the freeway. We will lead a rescue squad immediately. Call Darcy to send SWAT agents to the three main points" Gil said seriously as he put on a bulletproof vest and readied his police pistol.

"We'll go with you, man" Goby said bravely.

"Guppies, you all stay here. I don't want any of you to get hurt or worse. This is a delicate professional situation. Stay here and you can use the radio to contact me. You guys are going to be more useful to me here" Gil said seriously.

"That is very dangerous" Oona commented worriedly.

"That's what we were trained for. Besides, I'll take care of Gil. Don't worry guys. We'll bring Molly back safe and sound" Miranda said before she notes that her colleague had rushed out of the police station and took one of the police motorcycles without warning.

"GIL!" All the guppies and some officers shouted surprisedly

"I can't waste any more time! Molly's life is in danger! If Blake does something to her...I won't forgive myself for the rest of my life!" Without wasting any more time, Gil begins to drive the police motorcycle at full speed with the sirens on in order to avoid traffic without stopping. He couldn't afford to waste any more time. Every second was precious and he could determine the life or death of his beloved fiancée. If he wanted to secure his future with her, he had to act NOW!

While this was happening, we return to the forest where Molly was now on her own because the mysterious girl Delilah had decided to go without her. The pink haired guppy didn't have time to complain about the other girl, every second was important if she wanted to survive Blake's macabre game. Every movement and every sound was key to avoiding the deadly traps or even Blake himself. The forest was littered with bear traps, false floors with stakes in the bottom, many of the traps looked like they were inspired by the traps used in the bloody Vietnam War. That information was not coincidental. Molly only had one idea in her mind: Get out of that forest by whatever means possible. Thanks to her skills and some advice that Delilah gave her, she managed to avoid all the traps that appeared to her. At a certain moment, she heard slow footsteps near her. At that tense moment, Molly only thought of fighting using her combat skills. But when she was about to hit that person.

"Hey! Calm down! It´s just me" It was a female voice.

"Huh?! Delilah?...Oh! Hmmmm….What a coincidence. What are you doing here?" Molly crossed her arms.

"Hi Molly, I…well…I was thinking about what we were talking about and well…I…you know? Nobody had cared about me until I met you. I basically grew up alone and grew up alone... I never knew what it felt like to have someone by my side. And that's why when I felt an ounce of kindness towards myself... I acted weird. I've always believed that everyone is selfish... But you're not like that... You were able to help a stranger... when you could just leave me to my own devices... I don't know how or why you are like this... .But I must admit that you are an exceptional person...you are even a better person than me" Delilah explained with difficulty. It was hard for her to talk about feelings.

"Well... I understand that you don't trust everyone... After all, you haven't been able to trust anyone in your whole life... But you know? I don't consider you a horrible person... I remind you that you saved my life before, right? That tells me you're not as selfish as you seem" Molly said kindly.

"You're just saying that so I don't feel so bad" Delilah rolled her eyes.

"No, I'm serious. In fact...you remind me of a friend of mine. She used to be someone like you. She appeared to be very rude, lonely with no friends and trouble trusting others due to past traumas. But, when she joined my group of friends, she began to change for the better. Now, she's a different girl than she was before. And I know that you are not very different from her... You know? When we get through this, I can introduce you to my friend. She could help you a lot. Especially since she went through the same thing as you" Molly explained her experience with a certain member of the Bubble Guppies.

"That girl seems to be cool...what's her name?" The lobster girl asked curiously.

"Her name is Zooli" Molly answered with a smile.

"Her name is very cool. I would be interested in meeting her if you say that she is similar to me" Delilah said intrigued.

"I bet you two would be good friends" The pink-haired guppy said before she noticed something strange with her new partner "Huh? Is something wro…?" She asked before she got interrupted.

"CAREFUL! DOWN!" Delilah grabbed Molly and they both hit the ground in time.

BANG!

"GRRRR I ALMOST HIT HER!" It was Blake with his hunting rifle a few feet away from them.

"It's Blake!" Molly screamed with fear.

"Look who we have here...My dear pinkie girl...And...Oh surprise! Another living victim? I thought I had killed you a few days ago" Blake was surprised to see Delilah.

"Yeah, I almost died from one of your damn traps" She decided to remove the bandage covering her eye to reveal something disturbing. She did NOT have that eye. This surprised both Molly and Blake. The pink haired girl almost vomited.

"Wow...You turned out to be a tougher prey to kill, huh? Well... bad luck for you two, because you both will die today" The evil killer prepared his hunter rifle to shoot them. Molly could only back away very slowly. But her new friend had a brilliant but dangerous idea. She managed to kick up some dirt so the dust fell into the serial killer's eyes "GRRRAAAAAHHH!" Due to the irritation in his eyes, he did not see well and shot at another place, avoiding the death of one of the girls.

"RUN!" Delilah yelled before running off to join Molly. Both quickly left the killer's sights. Unfortunately, the distraction did not last long. Blake managed to wipe his eyes a little and that only made him angrier.

"None of you will leave this forest! YOU LISTENED, DAMN B*TCHES!" He yelled furiously before reloading his hunting rifle and started shooting near them. Luckily, they were fast and agile, as well as taking advantage of the fact that the assassin's aim was erratic thanks to the irritation in his eyes. Several seconds of intense chasing later, both girls managed to get to temporary safety.

"We won't last long. Blake is close and there are still traps nearby. We will not get out of this" Delilah commented worriedly.

"Of course we will. We just have to move on fast. Trust me this time" Molly encouraged her.

"Come on…..Follow me…." Both took a different path. Delilah was a little faster. The shots were heard getting closer and closer. On that run, Molly unfortunately tripped over a rope trap in her path and fell to the ground.

"Ahhhhh! Delilah!" Molly was trying to get up, but a bullet passed at her side, narrowly missing her. She lost sight of her partner. Delilah was no longer in sight. Molly looked back as she was on the ground and saw Blake approaching with his rifle ready to fire.

"Just the prey she wanted...Too bad for you...I see the other girl left you to your own devices...I'm not judging her, she did the smart thing...Anyway, it's your end...Molly Gentilella" Blake readied the rifle to aim at his quarry's chest. Molly could only accept her fate. There was no escape. But before she could react, a loud sound was heard from the bushes. A mysterious figure appeared in front of Molly and violently lunged at Blake.

"GET AWAY FROM HER!"

"DELILAH?!" Molly cried out in surprise. She was Delilah herself, fighting hand to hand against Blake. In the scuffle, the lobster woman plunged a sharp metal object into the assassin's shoulder.

"GRRRRUUUUAAAAAHHHHH!" Blake screamed in pain.

"Molly, get out of here! I'll take care of this bastard!" Delilah screamed out loud.

"I'm not going to leave without you!" Molly insisted on her idea.

"Molly, just tell me one thing...Are we friends?" She asked her while she was fighting. The pink-haired guppy was silent for a few seconds before giving her answer.

"Y…Yeah…We´re friends" Molly said with security.

"...In that case...I can...go in peace...Molly, get out of here now. Your family...Your friends...Your fiancé...They all want to see you alive...Just...go away...Let me do my one selfless act... ..We both know that only two things can happen: either only you get out alive or we both die...Molly...Go now...Please" The lobster girl told her while she was fighting. Molly didn't want to leave her alone. Tears welled up in her eyes. She was about to fight until she saw how Blake managed to inflict some wounds on her with his hunting knives "AAAAGHHHHH NOW! GET OUT!"

"D..D..Delilah…." Molly, seeing that she couldn't do anything for her anymore, decided to leave quickly. That way, Delilah's sacrifice wouldn't be in vain. The lobster woman fell to the ground on her knees with severe cuts on her body. She coughed and spat out blood. When she raised her head, she could only see Blake pointing his rifle at her head.

"You were strong...but not strong enough...Do you have any last words?" Blake asked with an evil smile.

"Hehehe….Do you know something, stupid? I no longer care about dying. Finally, I did something good after all...I'll be able to go in peace...But you? Hehehe...Molly...she...will avenge my death..." Delilah finally gave her last smile "Go to hell, Blake!"

BANG! That was the last sound Molly heard as she ran. She stopped for a few seconds and didn't look back. It was not necessary to think much to know what happened behind. She just closed her eyes and her tears ran from her eyes. Although they didn't know each other well, she sacrificed her own life to save her. Delilah had finally cared for someone other than herself. In a way, she achieved redemption for her. Molly, wanting to value her sacrifice, decided to get out of there immediately. She died so that she could escape Blake's clutches. Molly wanted to make sure the killer paid for her crimes, though that would be a topic for another time. She must get out alive first.

A few minutes later, Molly felt tired. And no more shots were heard. It seems that there was already a lot of distance between them. Unfortunately, our protagonist fell into another killer's trap. She touched a thin transparent thread and an arrow shot out and wounded our guppy's tail.

"Ahh..Ahhhh!" Molly held back her cry of pain to avoid drawing Blake's attention. She, with all her pain, managed to get the arrow out of her tail and decided to continue walking more carefully. Now she started to walk slowly because of the pain and was slowly losing blood. It wasn't much of a loss luckily, but little by little it could be something dangerous. Those minutes felt like hours. Hopes of getting out there alive were dwindling.

"(I can't die...I can't die...At least not now...And not like this...My family...my friends...I don't want to fail them... I want...my future...my future with Gilly...And for that...I won't die here! I WILL NOT DIE!)" Molly's willpower seemed unbreakable. She used all that mental strength to surpass her physical limits. And because of that, she managed to move more despite the pain. She couldn't let her hopes and dreams die just for some bastard she wants to kill for pleasure. She didn't want Delilah to die in vain. It seems that that willpower managed to bear fruit. Molly managed to see something in the distance. A few meters from her, she saw the highway! The road to civilization was already close.

"I...I...I...I made it! I finally did it! I came out of the woods! I just...I need a vehicle...to pass by...I...I made it" Molly said with some tears. Victory was close...until…

"Congratulations, pinkie! You are the only person who made it this far...but...what a shame...You swam and swam until you drown on the shore...That's how it feels...You were about to get out of this alive... and all for a bullet to end all this" It was Blake who had his rifle ready to fire. Molly stayed put, but she managed to perform a legendary maneuver. She took the arrow in his hand, turned quickly to get away from the scope for a few seconds and shot the arrow right into the assassin's hand so that he dropped the weapon. Though the arrow missed her hand, she managed to scratch enough of it for him to drop his hunting rifle. And just at that moment, Molly ran up to him and kicked him hard in the face "GRAAAAHHHHH!"

"This ends here and now, Blake!" Molly shouted at him.

"Hmmm….Interesting words...Hehehe...This will be fun...Alright, you will join your dead friend and all my previous victims!" Blake smiled macabrely before something broke loose in the distances of BubbleTucky.

Molly vs. Blake the hunter! Literally a battle to the death! All of Blake's attacks were intended to inflict fatal injuries. He wasn't holding back at all, but that didn't matter to Molly. She knew that his self-defense training would be necessary for life and death circumstances. And this was precisely that situation. She clung to her life, and because of that, she didn't hold back in the fight. She managed to hit him hard with his fighting technique. Blake was quite resilient and managed to block and dodge various attacks amazingly. Everything seemed that he possessed some military training. That's why he was very resistant. He intended to cheat by pulling out his two hunting knives, but Molly made an amazing move. She with one of her hands threw one of his knives to the ground. And with her other hand, she took the other knife from him, but this time, she plunged it into his shoulder. Right on the spot where Delilah hurt him earlier.

"AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHH!" He screamed in pain. That scream was loud and horrible. One could say that it was even terrifying. He, in a frenzy of rage, fought back, jabbing his elbow into Molly's stomach. And without giving her time to react, he thrashed her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground with her nose and mouth bleeding. She tried to get up by herself "YOU WILL NOT MAKE MOCK OF ME ANYMORE!" Shouting that, he gave a strong kick to his victim's stomach.

"AAAAAHHHHH!" That beating turned out to be painful for her. Molly fell backwards to the ground. She looked up and saw how Blake was furious. He constantly touched his shoulder that did not stop bleeding a lot. He did not dare to remove the stuck knife for fear that he would suffer a further injury.

"You are one lucky bitch. No victim had managed to hurt me as much as you. But you know something? You have made me so angry... that I will have to give you a slow and painful death…" Blake said with a deranged tone. He decided to take out a hunting pistol that used thick ammunition. Molly no longer had enough strength to fight any longer.

"Why...Why...Why do you kill people...for simple pleasure? No...it doesn't make sense" Molly said tiredly and weakedly.

"Are you a stupid girl or what? I'm a serial killer...I enjoy murder...I love to see the blood of my victims running down my hands...That adrenaline rush is exciting!...But...you know? ...As you are going to die now...I will tell you a little secret..." Blake explained macabrely before preparing his pistol ready to fill Molly with bullets "I'm not only a serial killer... I'm also a hitman... And many of my victims were targets of my contracts... And... Well... I'll tell you a little secret... A friend of yours... hired me to kill you!"

"N…N…No! It isn't true! It's not possible...You're just a...psycho killer who kills for no reason..." Molly was very weak. She was about to cry.

"That's where you're wrong...I only have two motives for killing people. Number one: For pleasure. And number two: For money. People pay me well to get rid of their targets. And you know, Molly Gentilella...you are one of my targets. Someone will pay me a lot of money for your life..." The killer explained his motivations.

"Who...Who hired you...to kill me?" Molly asked weakly.

"Oh my sweet little pinkie...It is not professional to reveal the names of my clients to my targets...and even less on their deathbed...That's right, you will die without knowing who your real murderer is...so...bye, Molly Gentilella!" Blake pointed his gun at Molly. Those tense seconds felt like forever. The poor girl could no longer do anything. Everything she fought for was in vain. Her only option is death. Or at least, that's what we all believed.

"Put the gun down slowly, Blake! NOW!"

"Huh?!" Molly and Blake were shocked at the same time. The contract killer just turned his head slowly and saw who was threatening him. He was a police officer with his gun pointed at the killer.

"I'm not going to repeat it again, Blake...LOW...THE...GUN!"

"G..G…Gilly" Molly managed a small smile when she saw that it was her fiancé, Gil Gordon. He was in his police officer uniform with some changes. He had a bulletproof vest as if he was in a special operation.

"Don't do anything stupid, Blake. The whole area is surrounded by police. Surrender now, and no one will get hurt...If you surrender peacefully, I'll try to keep you from being sentenced to death, which is what you really deserve..." Gil said bravely with his weapon ready to shoot if the killer wanted to be aggressive. It all seemed like it was over, but Blake could only laugh maniacally.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I AM BLAKE THE HUNTER...I NEVER LEAVE A VICTIM ALIVE...IF I DO, MY WORK WILL LOSE ALL MEANING. I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY F*CKING LIFE. ALL THAT MATTERS IS MY REPUTATION...AND MY RECORD...I WON'T LEAVE ANY END OPEN...I MEAN, NO VICTIMS ALIVE!" The hitman lost his mind and without shaking his hand, pointed his gun at Molly.

"NOOO!" Gil shouted loudly.

"GOODBYE, MOLLY GENTILELLA!"

BANG!

"AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHH!" That horrible scream came from Blake. He noticed how his chest began to bleed. He couldn't pull the trigger because he had been shot in the chest by him. He watched as the shot came from Gil's gun. His strength was weakening, but he still tried to use his weapon to kill the policeman. For that moment of adrenaline and defense, Gil had no more options to fire more shots at Blake's chest. Approximately, he received five shots to the chest. The assassin couldn't take it anymore and dropped the weapon as he fell to the ground and a pool of blood appeared around his body. Gil approached the murderer's body with his weapon ready. When he got closer, Blake the people hunter had passed away. Honestly, Gil wasted no time in seeing more of Blake's deceased body. Gil immediately ran over to Molly. He crouched down so he could see her face to face.

"Molly….Molly….Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

"Gilly….I´m…fine ... .Do you….?" She wanted to ask something obviously. But he covered her mouth with a finger tenderly.

"I know...But...I did it out of my obligation as a police officer...And also...I did it for you, Molly..." Gil tried to explain to her his own actions.

"At least….Finally the deaths of several innocents have been avenged" The pink-haired guppy said while she was closing her eyes slowly.

"Molly! Molly! Please... hold on a little longer... Help is coming! Resist!" Those were the last words from Gil that Molly managed to hear before everything blurred and she closed her eyes for a long time.

Some time later, Molly began to slowly open her eyes. The first thing she saw was the annoying white light that bothered her eyes. When the environment stopped being blurry for her, she discovered that she was in a hospital. Surprisingly, she recognized that it was the hospital that she had been to other times due to previous incidents. Finally, a nurse approached her.

"You finally woke up, Molly. You had everyone worried" It was a lobster woman in a nurse's uniform.

"Ugh….Mmmm…Hmmmm….Where I am?" Molly asked tiredly.

"At BubbleTucky General Hospital...You really got lucky. You had cuts on your body, noticeable blood loss, and a couple of broken ribs. Luckily, it's been quite a while since you were declared out of danger. You only need to be in bed for a few weeks and you'll walk out of here as good as new" The nurse explained to her about her health situation. That was a slight relief for Molly. Finally she felt like a nightmare had come to an end "I'm going to tell your visitors that they can come to see you now. Your family and friends were very worried" The nurse was ready to leave before Molly interrupted for a moment.

"One question….What is your name?" Molly asked curiously.

"Hehehe…My name is Donna. It's nice to meet you, Molly….I´ll be back" She smiled before she left the place. For some strange reason, she felt that the name was familiar. Though she wasn't sure where she had heard it from. Curiously, we as readers know from where. As Molly waited for a visit from her loved ones, she looked up at the window of her hospital room where she could see the clouds in the sky. The girl could only smile at the sky as she shed a tear in one of her eyes.

"Thank you, Delilah"

What a chapter full of strong emotions and a certain dose of violence (I decided to give it the M category for a reason) It really was a story full of danger and drama. Let's hope that this event does not bring very serious consequences.

I hope you liked the chapter. Leave your reviews that I am always aware of them. There is not much to comment on, so we will simply answer the reviews of the previous chapter.

mermaidf: Hi, my friend! I understand that Delilah can generate mistrust at first due to her mysterious attitude and her appearance in an unfavorable scenario... But this chapter shows her true nature.

SuperSonichero18: Hello there! Congratulations on your 18th birthday! I know I'm a little late but better late than never. I hope you enjoyed that day and that you have many more years to come! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

PrimroseRaspberry: Hi! I didn't really know that story until you mentioned it in the review. I guess it was a strange coincidence hehehe. And I can really assure you that Adult Years will be more intense than Teen Years without giving too many spoilers. It was really sweet that Gil got some help from the other Bubble Guppies (it might have ended up as one of my alternate stories otherwise). And I hope you liked the relationship that Molly and Delilah developed. I admit that maybe it wasn't much, but that was intentional. Well, not always people who meet have a good ending. I hope that despite that, you enjoyed this chapter.

Zakirmatron: Hi there, friend! I'm glad to see you once again. Don't worry if you've missed some chapters. I just hope you don't miss some of them because you might like them hehehe. Thank you very much for your comments, it really makes me happy to know that I am doing a good job. I appreciate both compliments and constructive criticism.

Guest: Hello! This story was definitely intense. And that is only one among several plots that will appear. We saw a bit about Blake and I know that even though he's dead, we'll hear more about him later.

This time, there will be no post-chapter because... It's already a bit late and I want to rest for today. Here ReaderandWriter9000 says goodbye, and see you very soon in another chapter of Adult Years! Always stay tuned!
