Greetings to all, dear readers. Welcome back to another exciting chapter of this great story. After having seen a somewhat dark episode, I think we deserve a more cute, tender episode with a certain dose of sugar. That's right, it's time to see a chapter with a romantic theme. I bet you're wondering what it will be about. So I prefer to remove your doubts, starting with this chapter.
Without taking any more time, let's get started with this.

Chapter 33: A Unique Proposal
We'll start with this note: True Love is not easy to find. We may have many or few partners in our love life. However, only one person turns out to be true love. That person capable of changing your vision regarding life and making you change for the better. A person who is difficult to find, but who is worth giving everything for. That is the case of the couple in this story: Zooli and Urchin. They both had complicated lives before they met. Disappointments after disappointments in their social relationships. However, the day they met, something special was born between them. From a healthy friendship to a very adorable and solid romantic relationship. Just as their best friends took the big step, it is time for them to do the same. However, let's say that they would start that step in a slightly different way.
We will focus on the daily life of one of our protagonists. It seems that after having witnessed the weddings of loved ones and examining herself, she had considered making a key decision in her life. In fact, we see how she is starting to...practice in her room.
"Alright...here I go again...(sigh) Urchin Lee-Rivers...You are the most special boy I have ever met. You are very special to me and you are the man I wish to share the rest of my life with...Urchin...Will you...Will you marry me?" Zooli said in a way that seemed self-assured
"Arf Arf! Wof Wof!" It was her beloved dog Coco who was paying attention to her owner.
"Ugh you're right. I need more confidence. Maybe be more romantic and sweet in my voice...yuck maybe be more cheesy...Hmmmmm how about 10 more practices?" She talked with herself and with her pets.
"Meoww…" Mr. Scallywag meowed.
"What? Of course not. I'm not just going to say that and be done with it. It must be something special…" The dark purple-haired guppy commented.
"Arf Arf Arf!"
"Well, maybe I feel a little nervous...But I think I just need to relax a little" Zooli answered.
"Meowww"
"Really? Now? You only live to eat, lazy kitty. Okay, I'll feed you" Zooli decided to feed her pet.
"Hey, Zooli...Is everything okay?" Her aunt Khloe came to say hello and check on her.
"Oh yeah yeah….I'm okay" Her niece answered.
"I'm glad. Just look at the time. I hope you're not late for your training" Her aunt reminded her.
"Oh gosh! I'm late for the gym. I'm going out with the girls tonight. See you later, auntie!" Zooli noticed that she was late for her commitments and decided to leave quickly.
That day Zooli was on one of her days off. That is, she was not working at the wildlife sanctuary. Her daily routine included going to the gym. She used to do her sessions to improve her physical figure, her health and her physical condition. We can see her lifting weights of an appropriate weight and doing her exercises.
"(Hmmm…I still feel nervous. What's wrong with you, Zooli? You're not like that. I've always been self-assured... Why do I feel so strange?)" Zooli thought as she conducted her sessions.
"Great job, Brooks...Although I notice you're distracted...You did some slower sessions than usual" Zooli's gym instructor appeared. She was a large female white shark in sportswear and with a very defined physique with muscles and a firm abdomen.
"Oh, hello instructor Greta!" Zooli greeted her.
"Just tell me Greta, honey. Tell me, what's wrong?" Greta asked with a smile.
"Oh well...I don't want to take up too much of your time…" The guppy said nervously.
"Don't worry about it, Zooli. You don't have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable" The white shark said calmly.
"I can ask you just one question: What do you think about the idea that we girls are the ones proposing to guys?" She asked curiously. Greta was thinking.
"Hmmmmm, I think people find that idea weird. But if you want my opinion: I don't see any problem with it. We girls can show initiative. It means that we want something serious with that guy. So I don't think it's wrong at all. And why does that question come up?" Greta smiled a bit.
"Oh hmmm…Nothing. It was just a random thought... I'll continue with my routine" Zooli lied a bit.
"Hehehe okay okay. I will give you time to follow the routine. I will be analyzing your data and updating your routine and diet" Greta said before walking away and leaving the guppy to train on her own. The shark girl watched as she trained very hard "Hmmm….The girl taking the initiative... Hmmmm why can't I do it with my guy?"
After her training session and other activities, Zooli finally met up with her best friends: Molly, Deema and Oona. It was a girls' night out. The three of them met up at a quiet restaurant where they ordered drinks, fries and various fast foods. The girls were looking forward to this reunion because finally one of them had returned to the city after an exciting trip.
"I'm glad you're back, friend" Molly said happily.
"Did you enjoy your trip to Japan? Tell us how your honeymoon was?" Deema asked.
"It was very beautiful. The hotel was very close to nature. Far from the city. We saw many forests, trees, plants and animals. We enjoyed traditional fairs and of course... All of that accompanied by the new Mr. Pirruccello" Oona said she was very happy about her trip and her new husband.
"And tell me, did you have fun with your husband?" Deema asked curiously.
"Of course. We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We enjoyed natural saunas, fairs, meals, hiking,..." Oona answered innocently.
"I don't mean that kind of "fun", my friend" Deema smiled mischievously.
"D-Deema….Don't ask those things" Molly scolded with her red face.
"S-S-She's right! Private thing" Oona covered her pink face.
"I just wanted to know if you applied my advice" The blonde girl said funnily.
"Well, but it's a personal matter, Deema" The Asian guppy calmed herself a bit. The three of them gave a few laughs. However, they noticed that the fourth girl remained silent.
"Everything's okay, Zooli? You haven't talked much since we got here" Molly asked, a bit worried.
"Yes, I thought you might say some sarcastic comment or give your opinion on what I just asked" Deema added.
"Oh well...It's nothing, girls...I've just been thinking about something..." Zooli said trying not to show how distracted she was.
"Seriously...What is it about?" The pink-haired guppy asked.
"It's not a big deal, really. Today we came to welcome Oona back from her trip" The dark-skinned guppy tried to divert attention.
"Come on, Zooli. Tell us what's going on? That's what friends are for" Oona convinced her to talk about her thoughts. Zooli thought about it for several seconds until she finally decided to talk about it.
"Okay, girls...The thing is, I...I was thinking about something big...I think seeing you girls get married...made me think about what I want. I think I'm ready for that big step" Zooli explained her new thoughts.
"Awwwww that's so cute. I think Urchin would be very happy to marry you, friend" Deema said with a smile.
"It will be a matter of time before Urchin proposes to you soon" Molly commented.
"Girls…I think you are not understanding my point…." At that moment, Zooli decided to show the girls something. It was a little wine-colored box and she opened it, revealing a beautiful engagement ring with a small diamond.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The three girls screamed loudly with excitement.
"Okay okay let's relax a little. Are you thinking of doing what I'm thinking?" Deema relaxed a little to ask a few questions
"That's right. This time, I want to be the one to ask him to marry me" Zooli smiled proudly.
"That sounds great. Now that's what I call having initiative" Molly supported her plan.
"I admit it feels...weird. I thought only the man could propose" Oona admitted.
"Well, I think it's not bad. If Goby hadn't proposed to me at the time, I would have done it. Things change and I think Zooli can do it without problems" Deema commented.
"Thanks for the support, girls. Still, I'm a little nervous. First, how do I tell him? How do I propose? What if he says no?" The dark purple-haired guppy asked with some nerves.
"Hehehe I never thought I'd see this: Zooli being nervous about romance matters" Deema chuckled a bit.
"This is serious, Deema!" Zooli blushed a bit.
"Don't worry about it. You just have to prepare a special moment to be alone with him. Besides, I'm sure he'll accept your proposal. He loves you too much" Oona advised her best friend.
"You just have to be yourself and be honest with him about your intentions. I'm pretty sure he'll be very happy with your proposal. After all, he fell in love with you for being the way you are, right?" Molly added.
"Thanks, girls. I actually have a plan. But I need some recommendations…" Zooli decided to share her plan to make her proposal a reality with her best friends. She knew more than anyone that she had to prepare something unique for her boyfriend.
Shortly after, Zooli started with her plan. She knew she had to prepare something to give her boyfriend the big news. So she decided to invite him on a unique date. Where would our girl take her boyfriend? A fancy restaurant? To the beach? Well, she decided to take him to a unique place where they could both enjoy nature. A passion that they both loved. It was a forest a little far from the city where the entrance fee was paid to enter the park with the advantage that they would have privacy. They reserved their tickets and prepared a different picnic day. Zooli used a large dark blue all-terrain car. A very comfortable car for her and her physically disabled boyfriend. They both arrived at the park and the girl prepared things for their picnic.
"Wow…..This place is beautiful. Just look at those mountains, trees everywhere, the blue sky and birds singing" Urchin said in wonder at the place.
"And wait until it gets dark. Here we can see the sun setting. The view is always beautiful" Zooli added.
"These are definitely the quotes I love. Are you ready to take the tour?" The guppy in a wheelchair asked her.
"Of course, Urchin…" The girl said that before taking the wheelchair and began to take him calmly along the paths.
"Hehe….You know I can move around on my own just with the chair, right? I mean, it's more modern" Urchin asked her.
"I know, but I want us both to go at the same pace and speed. Did you bring your camera?" Zooli asked him.
"I never go out without it on this kind of trips" The young man showed her his professional camera.
"Perfect. I'm sure we'll need lots of photos" The young Brooks commented before they started with their calm trip.
So Zooli took her boyfriend in a wheelchair through the forest trails. One of the unique things about this national park is that there were many special trails for people with physical disabilities. Which was great for Urchin, so he would have no problem enjoying nature without worrying about accessibility. They both took their time to enjoy the nature trails, the trees, flowers and of course, lots of animal life. Now we know why Urchin brought his camera.
"Zooli, look!" Urchin got his camera ready and asked his girlfriend not to move or make any noise. And click! He took a very beautiful photo of a striking woodpecker. That place was well known for the high presence of birds, both from that region and migratory birds. Zooli helped him take more photos of other birds like sparrows, swallows, more small birds and they were lucky to find a falcon. And if the birds were not enough, they also came across small animals like squirrels (lots of squirrels), hares and rabbits, raccoons (a bit naughty), marmots, they even came across a skunk (which they kept their distance from so as not to suffer from the bad smell). There was a river nearby where they could only observe from a distance due to the presence of other animals like otters and beavers. That did not stop them from taking pictures of the animals.
"There are too many animals here. These photos are perfect for the blog and work" Urchin said excitedly. They were safe on the trails. In fact, they were surprised by the presence of a huge animal that passed near the river.
"Woah!" Zooli and her boyfriend were shocked to see a very large brown bear near the river and swimming across it. They were lucky to be at a safe distance and the bear never saw them "Hehehe I have its photo"
"How lucky we were to take that photo" Urchin commented. They both continued along the trails and in another area they found a pair of deer showing affection. A male with his female. Urchin photographed the pair of deer. Zooli decided to sit on the fence of the trail to rest a little after walking and pushing Urchin for a long time. What she didn't realize was that Urchin took a photo of her.
"Huh? Urchin! Why did you do that? I wasn't ready. I must have looked awful in the photo" Zooli blushed a lot and she was very ashamed.
"Do you doubt my abilities as a photographer? Come here" Urchin showed the photo to his partner and she was surprised. Although she didn't realize it, the boy managed to wait for the perfect moment to capture the best angle.
"W-W-What?! H-How?! How do I look so...beautiful? I didn't even pose or I was prepared" She asked surprisedly. The photo was of her sitting on the fence looking out at the horizon with the blue sky and mountains behind her.
"I am very detail-oriented and somewhat fussy. I know how to calculate the perfect moment to take a good photo without my subject noticing. That's how I was able to photograph some animals. Although... you are quite cute and always look pretty in my photos" Urchin explained to her. Although he blushed when he said that last thing
"Hehe enough Urchin. So much flattery and sweetness is going to give me a sugar rush...How cheesy" Zooli said funnily, trying to hide her blush.
"Hehehe I'm a photographer and journalist...I always have to tell the truth" Urchin answered nervously. Zooli smiled at him and they both decided to continue with the tour.
A short while later, they went to watch the sunset together to admire the orange sky. It seems that they decided to have the picnic a little late to admire the beautiful view. However, Zooli had another plan in mind. She told Urchin that she had a surprise for him. So she used a blindfold to cover his eyes and took him in his wheelchair to the place she had planned.
"Euhh...Zooli...Do you think it's a good time for me to tell you that I never liked the idea of covering my eyes without knowing where we're going?" Urchin admitted with nervousness.
"Trust me, Urchin...You're going to like what I'm about to show you" Zooli said before removing the blindfold from her boyfriend's eyes and showing him something wonderful.
"Wow…." It was an open area in the night forest. The clear sky was full of stars and a sheet on the ground so they could both lie down in the middle of nature. Urchin managed to get out of his wheelchair and settled in. Zooli sat down next to him. They were both greeted by fireflies that gave them light in addition to the wireless lamp.
"What do you think?" Zooli asked him.
"It's...It's...Wow...It's so beautiful...The stars, the fireflies, the sounds of the night...It's incredible" The boy was amazed by the place.
"I'm glad you like it. I consider it a natural romantic place" The girl sat close to him and put on some relaxing and romantic music so they could both enjoy a romantic evening outdoors. She poured two glasses of wine for both of them.
"(sigh) It's very nice. I didn't think you were very romantic" Urchin commented.
"I think... I think that love changes people... Besides, it's just you and me... You know very well that I don't like romance or public displays of affection... But when we're alone, I feel confident... And very calm... As if with you it's worth showing those feelings that I don't usually show" Zooli said with sincerity. That surprised her boyfriend.
"Well, I like that side of you. I also like that confident and strong side. I just like you the way you are" The boy admitted.
"Hehe you always try to make me blush, don't you?" She chuckled a bit.
"Maybe. I'm just being honest with you" Urchin answered. They both remained silent for a few seconds as they watched the stars and the fireflies. The only sounds that could be heard were the night sounds of nature and the soft music she had prepared. During this time, the girl hesitated a little if she should tell him what she wanted to tell him. After taking a short, deep breath, she decided to gather her courage and proceeded with her plan.
"Urchin…"
"Huh? Yeah, Zooli"
"You know, Urchin...I didn't just bring you here as one of our many dates. Today is a special day for me...Look...You know that in the past I repudiated the idea of falling in love with a boy because I thought it would bring me pain because of some disappointment. But when I met you, something strange was born in me. I thought that you would only be a great friend. But...as we got to know each other better...and according to many situations...They made me see that I felt something more for you than a simple friendship. I fell in love with you...And since then we had a good relationship based on trust, respect and communication...Something that I thought was impossible in a relationship...Urchin, you made me believe in love again. And as a consequence of all that...I wish to go further and continue experiencing that love that you made me feel" Zooli said gaining confidence in herself and got a little closer to her boy.
"Z-Zooli…" Urchin was confused and he noticed how she settled on her knees in front of him.
"I never thought I would do something like this. But you are the kind of man I want in my life. I am a strong woman, but deep down there is always sensitivity and weakness that only you know how to calm and comfort me. Only you know how to make me feel loved and respected...I want you to accompany me on this path of life that I want to take... Urchin Lee-Rivers..." Zooli took a deep breath and pulled out her ace up her sleeve. A small wine-colored box. And she opened it in front of her boyfriend, showing him a ring with a small diamond "...Will you marry me? Will you be my husband?" Finally, Zooli confessed her love to her boyfriend. The boy didn't know how to react. His face turned completely red and he became very nervous.
"Z-Z-Z-Zooli…..I...I...Well...I thought I should be the one to propose to you. I mean, I've been thinking about it but I wasn't planning on doing it anytime soon...But...Ohhh Mmmmmm…." Urchin commented with a red face.
"I know... You think it should be you... But... If I'm proposing it to you it's because I really want to have something more serious with you... It's like my greatest proof of love or something like that... I also think that I feel ready... The only thing missing is for you to be ready too... So, what's your answer?" Zooli was sincere and wanted a response from him. What she didn't expect was that her boyfriend started to sob.
"I….I…I….You don't know what this means to me...I...I never thought I could have this...I never thought someone would love me because of my conditions or the wrong ideas they taught me...I never thought I could be loved...I...I...sniff...I accept, Zooli...I accept to marry you" Urchin wiped his tears with one hand and with the other he extended his hand for his beloved girl to put the engagement ring on. Zooli put it on his finger and immediately hugged him to comfort him. However, the sobbing stopped and there was only happiness. Urchin decided to take her face and gave her a romantic kiss on the lips. They both kissed and hugged each other. Although by accident, Zooli laid him down on the ground and was on top of Urchin. They both looked into each other's eyes with much love.
"Ohhh hehe….I'm sorry...I got carried away" Zooli apologized.
"Don't worry...We are alone after all" Urchin smiled a bit.
"Hmmmm…..You know...it's been a while since I showed you physical affection...We can take advantage" Zooli smirked a bit.
"Okay...Where is the Zooli that I know?" Urchin asked with a blush in his face.
"You should take advantage. It's a limited time offer. You're not always going to have your future wife being very romantic" Zooli mocked a bit. The boy simply hugged her waist and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. And Zooli played along. Both began a tender and quiet session of kisses and delicate caresses. Only the moon, the stars and the fireflies were witnesses to the displays of affection of this special couple. This couple did not usually make this type of display of affection, but since it was a unique moment, they took advantage of the privacy. This will be the next couple to take that long-awaited and desired step. They had found that happiness in their mutual love and were ready to commit and start a family together. And just as the previous couples had some difficulties getting married, they would also go through something similar. But no matter what happens, Zooli and Urchin will do their best to stay together for the rest of their lives.
Oh yeah! We deserved a little more romance and cheesiness after the darkness of the last episode. (Hey, I can be romantic and cruel at the same time as a writer hehe) Finally, our last couple has gotten engaged and the preparations to get married begin. How do you think the ceremony will be? Will they face any obstacles before the wedding? How do you think the wedding will be? Those questions will be answered in this new and interesting arc.
Please leave your reviews about this chapter and your expectations. I will proceed to respond to the reviews of the previous chapter.
GojiRaptor06: Hi, friend! The previous episode was perfect for giving screen time to Mia, who is a good character with potential. Also, the topic of that episode was very serious and it is a topic that needs to be talked about and solutions should be found to stop bullying and the loss of more innocent lives due to school shootings.
PrimroseRaspberry: Hello! When I said the episode was dark, I wasn't joking. Unfortunately, it's something that has been and continues to happen in several educational centers, especially in the United States. Markus is a latent threat and don't be surprised that he sympathizes with the same philosophy as Harris, Jane or the House of Cadaverini itself. Sam can still become a good person if he accepts the help he's getting. Let's hope he does.
SuperSonichero18: Hi! It was definitely a scary episode. And it's sad to know that similar things have happened in real life. Let's hope that things like this stop happening again.
RainbowFoxy1987: Hello there! I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. And I can honestly sympathize with you. I myself suffered from bullying and teachers did nothing. I even got to the point of hating the bullies... However, I thank God that I never thought of getting revenge or being consumed by hatred. Over time I learned to forgive them. But I know that some made drastic decisions against others or against themselves. This bullying needs to stop. Gil did the right thing by trying to find a peaceful solution and managed to calm Sam down... Markus didn't, unfortunately. In fact, now that you mention it I noticed: Mia and Dylan have similarities with Molly and Gil (because of the sacrifice). I'm sure we'll see a bit more of them in the future.
There will be no post-chapter scene for this chapter to give you a little rest and leave you with that sweet taste. ReaderandWriter9000 says goodbye and we'll see you soon in another chapter.
