Overprotective Mother
*Sonic's Room, Chaldea*
Inside Sonic's room, Charlotte Corday was doing her regular job and cleaning Sonic's room shiny and perfect while he was away dealing with his parents. It's another peaceful day inside Chaldea. However, this time was busy for the Master as he wasn't at Chaldea this time around as he was currently dealing with stuff back in his world with a few Servants while others were waiting for their return eventually.
"*Listening To Corday Reading* AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! [You have a beautiful voice when it comes to reading! It's just as beautiful as the Night sky]." Tiamat said
"I apologize, but I didn't understand you there, Tiamat. But if you compliment me, I thank you for such kind words. *Sitting, Reading A Book On Sonic's Bed Peacefully Before Hearing Knocking At The Door* It's open. Please come in." Charlotte said
"*Enters The Room* Oh, Master, where are you? Your Mother wants to talk and spend time with you. Please don't hide away from your Mother! Oh, why, hello there, Mrs. Corday, Mrs. Tiamat. I didn't expect t to see you in the Master's room today. What brings you here?" Raikou asks
"Good day to you, Mrs. Raikou. Don't mind me. I'm keeping Master's room safe and clean as he's away with Mash and a few other Servants on a mission to remove Master's enemy from retaking control of his world." Charlotte replied
"Is that so? No wonder he and the others have been gone for almost a couple of weeks. I always forget that missions like these aren't easy and take longer than the Lostbelts or Singularities. Which means he has a higher chance of hurting himself as well. It makes me sad that I'm not there with him and not stopping him from risking his life in battle." Raikou said
"It's okay, Mrs. Raikou. I'm sure the Servants with him protect him as much as you do when you join him in battles. Without a fight, we won't let our enemies get to our Master easily. Granted, I'm not useful in battle, but Sonic always reminds me I'm just as important as everyone else here. This is enough for me to continue and help him as much as possible." Charlotte commented
"That may be true. Sonic may be a loving and caring Son outside. But Sonic is different from other Masters when it comes to fighting. Unlike us, Servants are usually coordinated during battles. He prefers going into harm's way without thinking twice about his safety. I can't bear to see him in such a state. Even the slightest injuries in his body are enough for me to break down, and I can consider myself a failed mother who wasn't there to protect his son." Raikou said
"I understand where you are coming from, Raikou. Master does indeed head into battles without any second thought, but that's his personality. He's told us countless times before that his fighting style is. He would go all out if he needed to. I wasn't there when it happened, but Sonic told you he needed to take some hits during the battle against Goetia so it could go in the direction he needed it to so Chaldea could be victorious. And I think that shows dedication." Charlotte said
"I agree with that part about the fight between Goetia and him. But if it weren't for the Chaos Emeralds, that fight would've ended worse for him. This is why I can't bear him hurting himself any longer. Even if it's danger from his world as we speak." Raikou replied
"Well, I can only say that you can talk to him once he returns from his mission with the others. And to add some good news, we've received a message from them that they should return to Chaldea in a few. You should wait for you to wait for Master and talk to him about his choices in battle." Charlotte said
"Yes, as his Mother, I must give him talk about his actions and how they can be harmful, not only to him. But for me as well. But first, I must calm myself and give my son a warm welcome back." Raikou said
*Command Room, A Few Hours*
After being gone for two weeks, the portal inside the Command Room opens up a portal as Sonic falls out of the doorway along with Mash, Fou, Atalanta, Nightingale, Edison, Da Vinci (Rider), Melusine, returning to Chaldea after finally defeating Dr. Eggman from his usual World domination plans.
"Welcome back, everyone! I hope all of you enjoyed your stay at Sonic's world while saving it from being controlled by that evil scientist, Dr. Eggman. I was getting distraught that I wouldn't see you for much longer. But I'm glad you all returned in one piece. Well, most of us, in this case. *Notices Sonic Covered In Dirt And A Couple Scratches Around His Body*" Da Vinci (Caster) said
"Hehe! Don't worry, Da Vinci! A few scratches from Metal Sonic won't be enough to take down a Hedgehog like me! It's going to take more than that! *Strecthing Legs* Wooo! We're finally back! After a few days of pure robot butt-kicking, we took down Egghead again! Thanks to everyone that came along for the ride!" Sonic said
"We greatly appreciate all of you for helping us bring peace to Sonic's world, everyone! We couldn't have done it without your hard work!" Mash said
"Thank you for taking me with you, Sonic. Your world was just as beautiful as Britain's Sith, Barghest, and I used to remember. Your world had a lot to offer for us to enjoy and was very welcoming as well." Melusine said
"Anyone is welcome in my world, Melu. I'm sure both Sith and Barghest would enjoy visiting as much as you liked it." Sonic replied
"We should thank you for taking us to your world and showing us around, Sonic! I learned much about Mobius' advanced technology that both Da Vinci, Edison, and I can use as inspiration to help you, Mash, and the other Servants on future missions! Especially your friend Tails, who showed Edison and me his crazy inventions. For a Young Fox, he has the brains of the Great Da Vinci and Edison combined!" Da Vinci (Rider) said
"Indeed, Mr. Tails is just as superior in inventing things as much as I can here in our world. But thanks to his advanced skills in building robot Servants, I can use them to upgrade an army of robots for us!" Edison roared
"I'm glad my buddy Tails was able to give you two inspiration for your future inventions to help us out in the future! I can't wait to see what you three have to bring to the table!" Sonic replied
"Please stay still, Master. I'm still analyzing the injuries that piles of junk left you behind. *Analysing The Scratch Marks Around Sonic* Of course, although these injuries aren't life-threatening. It would be best if you still were treated for them. Don't worry. I'll get the required medical supplies to care for these wounds. Please excuse me while I get them for you. *Walks Out of The Command Room, On Her Way To Aquire Medical Supplies*" Nightingale said
"I will admit, Metal Sonic got me good this time from before. Eggman finally took his head out of the ground and gave Metal an upgrade. But it was all thanks to Nightingale for helping us while we were. Who knows what would've happened if she didn't tag along with us to our mission." Sonic said
"We will always be grateful for her hard dedication to aiding us in and outside battle," Atalanta said
Moments later, the Command Room opens up as Raikou enters by herself and notices the group's return again after a while.
"Hello, everyone; it's great to see you again here. How was the mission back in Master's world? Did it all go well?" Raikou asks
"It sure did, Raikou! We took down Egghead and his army once again from taking over my world. It'll be a while before he shows up again and attempts to rule the world again. But by then, will be ready!" Sonic replied
"How was everyone when we were gone? Has anything happened to Chaldea that we should know of?" Mash asks
"As far as I know, nothing terrible has happened to us, nor has a singularity appeared. We were just worried about Master's well-being when he was gone for a long time. I'm glad you guys were able to keep him away from danger as much as possible. Who knows what would've happened if Sonic was- *Notices The three Scratches On Sonic's Chest As Her Eye Widen* W-What?! S-Sonic?! What happened to you? Who made those scratches on your chest?!" Raikou shock
"Oh, these? Don't worry, Raikou. These scratches mean nothing to me. With Nightingale's help, these will go away in a few days. But I will tell you, that piece of junk Metal Sonic did pack a punch back home, and it wasn't easy as last time. But with the help of Mash and Melusine, we took him down in no time before Eggman could go through with his plan! Isn't that right, Mash and Melusine?" Sonic said
"It was difficult at first, but we managed to overcome it thanks to the help of Melusine and the others," Mash replied
"I will say, Master's world is almost on par with a lost belt he had to go through. Only this time, of course, we were fighting some evil scientist who has been a burden to Sonic for a while now." Melusine said
"And there weren't any other Masters to deal with. So that's a first in a while." Sonic commented
"I can't believe you went out of your way to get yourself into danger again, Sonic. How often do I tell you not to get yourself killed?" Raikou said
"It's okay, Raikou! I'm used to stuff like this; even getting thrown into a wall by a titan won't stop me from proceeding further and accomplishing a goal. I'm Sonic The Hedgehog, after all!" Sonic replied
"Oh no, you aren't using that excuse again, Sonic! I heard it many times already, and I'm tired of you getting into mischief as always. Which is why from here on out, I will be going everywhere you go. No matter what place, danger, or safety. I will follow you to the ends of the earth. To keep my eye on you." Raikou said
"Huh?!"
*A Few Days Later, Chaldea Cafeteria*
"*Looking At Two Specific People Sitting Next Together* What the hell is she doing with him?! I have never seen her treat him like that before! Why's she doing something like this right now?! This isn't golden at all!" Kintoki said
"Hmmm? What's the matter, Kintoki? You seem to be under some stress right now. Don't worry; I can help you by touching my body. *Winks At Him*" Shuten said
"Cut the crap, Oni... I'm not stressed at all. I'm just surprised by what's happening between those two over there between both my Bosses. It looks like something is happening between the two, and the face of Blue Boss says it all. He's not enjoying it one bit." Sakata replied
"*Looks At The Direction And Blushes* Oh my... What do we have here? Are my eyes deceived by such a wonderful thing happening right now? Fufufufufu, I can't but laugh at it." Shuten said
"Sometimes, I question why I even met you in the first place. This is not golden for Boss here. We should talk to those about what the hell is going on..." Kintoki said
"Hey, what's the commotion between you two? Did Shuten break another bottle? *Notices What The Others Were Starring At* Huh?! What the heck is going on between Raikou and Sonic?! She's feeding Sonic like he's a baby! Kintoki, Shuten, what the heck is going on between the two?!" Ibaraki shock
"Your question is just as good as mine. She's treating him like I was when I was younger! A humiliating sight for both Sonic and Me..." Kintoki said
"*Getting Fed Food And Not Having A Good Time* Raikou, are you seriously doing this in front of the others right now? How many times have I told you before... I'm not a kid. I can take care of myself... I always had. Sides, do you see me still next to you right now?" Sonic questioned
"I'm sorry, Sonic. But as your Mother, I must protect you from the dangers of life. I cannot see harm getting in your way. So we're starting 1st with your health. You have been eating Chilli dogs consistently since you discovered it and haven't eaten anything else but those. That's extremely unhealthy and could hurt you." Raikou replied
"At least she doesn't know that I ate 200 Chilli Dogs in one sitting before... That was the best day I had in a while!" Sonic thought
"That's why I asked Boudica and EMIYA to cook you something other than Chilli Dogs. Would you care for a plate of Tonkatsu? *Grab a piece of chicken with a chopstick and put it closer to Sonic* Now. Say, "Ah." Raikou said
"*Gently PPushes The Chop Sticks Away* Cut that out, Raikou. I'm not a big fan of having others do my work for me. I can eat my food as every Servant around here. Chilli Dog or not, I can eat. On my own..." Sonic commented
"*Shocked* W-What?! Sonic... D-Did you go against Mother? Did you push your food away? I was feeding you?! *Starting To Tear Up* W-Why, Sonic? How can you do this... Do you know how much that hurts me... Am I not a good enough Mother to be taking care of you... *Continues Tearing Up*" Raikou saddened
"W-What?! No-No, Raikou! I didn't do to show you I hate you! It's just that it's kind of weird seeing you taking care of someone like me. A Literal Hedgehog..." Sonic replied
"*Continues Tearing Up*"
Sonic looked at Raikou, tearing in the eyes as tears rolled down her face. Sonic looks at Raikou for another few seconds until he sighs profoundly and gives in to Raikou.
"*Deep Sighs As He Goes In And Eats The Chicken On The Chop Stick* Are you happy now, Raikou? Look, I just ate the chicken you just gave me. Mmmmm... It's delicious!" Sonic said eating
"*From Sad To Happy In A Mere Second* You see? Isn't it nice to eat something different than Chilli Dogs all day? I'm sure you'll enjoy the rest of your food. Now say ah again for me. Here comes the airplane-"
"Hey, what the hell is going on between you two? You know others are staring at you, right?!" Kintoki shouted
"What you are doing is weird and in Sonic's character!" Ibaraki said
"Hey there, Kintoki and Ibaraki. What's up?" Sonic said
"Ara, Ara~ if it isn't my child Kintoki and the Oni. Are you here to get some motherly love as well? Don't worry. I can take care of you as lovely as I am doing as Sonic." Raikou said
"That's the problem here, Boss. Don't you think you're going overbroad on caring for Blue Boss? I mean, he's at an age where he can care for himself and protect himself from enemies. Even without us, he can take care of himself still." Kintoki asked
"What's made you say that? I'm Sonic's Mother, and I need to care for him as much as possible. I'm not giving him my motherly support as much as I want. He's been busy getting into harm's way himself since he was a child." Raikou replied
"That's the problem! Sonic doesn't need someone to take care of him. Sure, we are his Servants, but he's no weak human. We all saw him battle and his use of his speed as well. Did you forget the battle against that weird Eye Ball Belly guy years ago? Yeah, that was enough to prove to us Servants that he can prove himself." Ibaraki said
"You see, Raikou? Even these two agree that. Even my friends back home are fighters, especially my little buddy Tails, with amazing inventions. And he's young as well." Sonic replied
"Look, Boss, you can be a mother as long as you want. I don't care. But treating Boss as a literal child is not Golden at all. What's next? You will also hold him as a baby amid battle?" Kintoki said
"*Eyes Widen And Smiles* That's a good idea. Thank you, my child! When Sonic and I are in battle, I'll protect him even more and carry my sweet child so he won't hurt himself. That sounds so wonderful! Ara~" Raikou replied
Sonic, Ibaraki, and, Kintoki all look at Raikou. Their eyes widen after hearing what she just said about what she will do with Sonic.
"D-Did you say you'll be babysitting me during battles?! Where did that come from!" Sonic shock
"It's for your good, Sonic. I can't bare to see you getting hurt again!" Raikou replied
"H-Hey! Did something your head or something?! Are you seriously babysitting Sonic from now on?! That's crazy and weird!" Ibaraki said
"I don't listen to Onis. I'll do what I have to do to keep Sonic safe." Raikou said
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" Kintoki shouted
*The Next Day, Inside A Singularity*
Da Vinci notified Sonic that a Singularity appeared again and to investigate it to achieve the Holy Grail, the usual stuff. Sonic accepted it as he, Mash, Passionlip, Astolfo, and Raikou made their way through the Singularity and investigated it while dealing with beasts. In one instance, the group was currently dealing with a giant Super Chimera blocking their path to advance and forcing them to battle it.
"*Notices The Super Chimera Charging And Lunges Towards Him, Ready To Attack Him, But Quickly Dodges It And Dashes To Perform A "Phantom Rush" Combo Around The Super Chimera, A 100-Combo In A Mere Few Seconds* What's the matter, big guy? Can't keep up Phantom Rush? I learned it from a previous adventure not too long ago. Do you like it? *Finishes The Combo With A Kick At The Chimera's Face, Pushing It Back* Heh! I have grown a lot since that adventure. You can thank Sage for that!" Sonic said
"Sonic! How many times have I told you? You're going to hurt yourself again if you aren't cautious!" Raikou said
"Don't worry, Mother. Senpai is doing well himself. Nice job, Senpai! Now it's my turn! *Lunges Towards The Super Chimera And Smashes Her Shield At It* HYAHHHH!" Mash shouted
Mash slams her shield toward the Chimera, knocking it back a few feet away from her and Sonic. Passionlip then uses her large claws and fires them off toward the Super Chimera. The Chimera countered the attack by slashing it out of its direction and roaring in anger. However, what the Chimera didn't know was that Passionlip lunges towards the Chimera, grabbing its tail with her other Claws and slamming it down onto the ground, causing the ground to shake from the impact of Chimera before repeating the process a few more times and throwing towards a large tree and slamming at it, falling soon after.
"Is that really what you have? How embarrassing!" Passionlip called out
"Nice going, Passionlip! You taught that beast a valuable lesson not to mess with us! Now, all we have to do is-" Sonic Getting Cut Off.
."*Notices Something And Gasp* Wait! It's not dead yet! The beast is getting back up!" Asatolfo shouted
Sonic and the Servants noticed the Chimera getting back up and shaking its body from debris as it roared, angrier than before.
"So the beast isn't dead for me just yet, huh? I expected you to give by this point, but I admire your dedication." Passionlip said
The Chimera then charges towards the group with its mouth fully open, ready to chomp down at the group. Mash charges at the Chimera with her shield in front of her, attempting to stop the Chimera from its track, but the Chimera uses its' Snake tail to strike Mash and knock her aside, continuing to charge towards the others. Passionlip and Astolfo both lunged toward the Chimera Astolfo attacked it with triple swords. At the same time, Lip slammed her giant claws down at it as well, but they were unaffected as the Chimera roared, causing a shockwave that knocked both Servants away and now charged toward Sonic. Sonic notices the Chimera heading towards his way. As he attempts to jump out, the Chimera Manages to catch Sonic by its mouth and tries to crush him with a powerful bite, but Sonic uses his strength to stop the Chimera from biting him and ripping him off. However, he noticeably couldn't hold on for a long time as the Chimera slowly got closer to crushing Sonic.
"*Struggling* Tch... Now's the perfect time for a helping hand... A-Anyone?! *Continues Struggling*" Sonic said
"Senpai! *Dashes Towards The Chimera To Stop It from Attacking Sonic, But The Snake Tail Stops Her And Attacks Her, Blocking It With Her Shield* D-Dammit! I can't get close to the Chimera! Astolfo!" Mash shouted
"Don't worry, Mash! *Runs Past Mash, And Attacking The Snake Tail With Sword Attacks Before Jumping on Ontop Of The CHimera's Back And Stabbing her Sword Into It, Spewing Blood Soon After* That's for trying to eat my Master!" Astolfo said
The Chimera roars in pain as it lets go of Sonic from its mouth but not before the Chimera begins violently running around and trying to remove the sword off its back and kicks Sonic with its feet without noticing, knocking him away and hitting a giant boulder in the process.
"*Hits A Tree Hard* Oof! Hehe... I-I'll admit... You got me good there... Nice going... *Falls Soon After*." Sonic said
Mash rushes towards Sonic to pick him up from the floor as the Chimera continues to roar in pain as the three watch it go through its rampage with the sword still on its back.
"Senpai! Are you alright?! Please tell me that you are okay!" Mash said
"*Covered In Dirt And Salvia From The Chimera's Mouth* Yeah, I'm fine. The Chimera decided to one-up me this time around." Sonic replied
"Dammit! How am I supposed to get my sword back? If I try to get it right now, I'll quickly be attacked by the Goat and Snake. I'll be dead before being warned!" Astolfo said
A few moments later, the Snake bites the sword and pulls it out of its body before throwing it away and stabbing itself into a tree far from Astolfo as the Chimera stops and looks at both Passionlip and Astolfo. Seating with anger all over its face.
"Where's Raikou? I hadn't seen her since the battle started. Did she take the wrong path when getting here?" Passionlip questioned
The Chimera roars once more and rushes toward both Pasisonlip and Astolfo. Mash yells at both of them to watch out until suddenly, a bright purple glowing arrow hits the Chimera's Goat head as lighting strikes around the beast and deals tremendous damage, pushing it back from both Passionlip and Astolfo soon after.
"Huh? Could that be!" Mash said
The Chimera turns and notices Raikou standing in front of it, eyes glowing bright purple with a severe face and holding her sword. The Chimera roars again and lunges towards Raikou as she stands in her spot without moving an inch. The Chimera continued to charge towards Raikou while she stood there until it jumped right at her, claws complete, ready to attack her until her blade engulfed itself electrically. A moment later, Raikou jumps right at Chimera and slashes it with a powerful strike, dealing tons of damage to the Chimera and attacking it multiple times with several quick attacks soon after and leaving scratch marks around the Chimera and spewing blood in the process. Then, Raikou fires multiple arrows at the beast, hitting the Chimera all in the face before finishing off with a mighty sword strike, knocking it to several trees, and hitting them soon after, away from her and the others.
"That's for hurting my child in front of mother's very own eyes!" Raikou said
"Mother!" Mash said
"Ah, yeah! That's what I'm talking about! You show us who the best, Raikou!" Astolfo cheered on
"Now that's what I call helping out a friend!" Sonic said
"*Notices Sonic and Runs Towards Him And Hugs Him* Oh, my dear poor child. Are you okay? What happened? Did the beast hurt you?" Raikou asks
"Well... You could say that the beast landed a good shot on me... Twice in a row, if you understand that." Sonic replied
"He may have gotten hit, but he will be alright. He's Sonic, after all." Mash said
"See? This is what I'm trying to tell you, Sonic. You are putting yourself in grave danger, and for what reason? This gives me a better reason to watch over you daily and care for you." Raikou commented
"I mean, in fairness, Raikou, this isn't the first time this happened to him. He's been hit everywhere ever since being a child. Way before he became a Master. Getting hit is a normal occurrence for Sonic." Astolfo said
"Which is something I will always regret. He's been getting hurt since behind a child, and I wasn't there to help him out. I can feel the pain he's been going through inside my heart. *Sniff*" Raikou said
"A-And how were you supposed to help him in the first place? He didn't know what a Master being was. Let alone this world even existed in the first place." Passionlip said
"It's alright, Raikou. I also have friends back home who have helped me through my adventures. So I wasn't alone in these adventures all the time." Sonic commented
Before Raikou could say anything else, the Chimera suddenly appeared behind her and was able to attack her. Still, Raikou quickly turned around and unleashed a single sword slash, cutting the Chimera in half as blood spewed out before the Chimera Vanished as blood rained around Raikou. She then turns around to look at Sonic, who had a look on his face, staring at Raikou, who had a severe look on her face while blood rained around her. Moments later, Raikou snapped back to her motherly self.
"*Blood Droplets Hitting Her Face* Ara~ I went a little too far there, didn't I? Apologies, Master. I promise Mother won't bring out that side of her anymore. Now, be good to me and follow Mother's orders." Raikou said
"*Sigh* Why do these things happen to me every time? All I want is just peace. That's all I want." Sonic commented
*Night Time, Sonic's Room*
Inside Sonic's room, Sonic was sitting on the bed while talking to Mash about Raikou and the current situation between the two.
"It's been a few days since this ordeal between Raikou and I started. She's been with me at every place I go and visit. Even when I want to spend some alone time or with the kids in their activities, she's there with me and wouldn't go away, even when I kindly ask her to leave me alone. I'm just not a fan of being treated like a kid myself. This is also similar to what happened between Tiamat and me a while ago. Only this time, Raikou is on a whole new level." Sonic said
"I understand your frustration, Sonic. I've seen how Raikou has treated you in the last few days. She's practically a magnet who you can't pull back. She's powerful that even I can't do anything about it. That's why I feel guilty about not helping." Mash replied
"Don't feel sorry, Mash. None of this isn't your fault. Sides, if we're being honest here, she has helped me tediously in the past few days, and I can't thank her that much for all of that. But besides all of that, I'm nobody's child. I'm just a regular Hedgehog who wants to explore new and faraway lands and help others in need. That's what my true motivations are! You know that by now, right?" Sonic said
"Yeah, that's always been your quote for a while now. Which reminds me, I shouldn't say stuff like this to others but do you have any parents? Back home? You never mentioned that you had family members, and I'm curious if you do, Master." Mash questioned
"Now, that's a question I didn't expect to get from you. You're the last person ever to ask a question like that. But, If you are interested in that question, I'll answer by saying that I don't have any parents. I don't have a Dad, Mom, Sister, Brother, or anything. I'm a lonely Hedgehog and always have been for a long time." Sonic replied
"*Suprised By Sonic's Question* R-Really? You never had a family at all before? T-Then how were you born then, to begin with?" Mash surprised
"I don't remember any details at that, Mash. I just suddenly appeared one day, and that's it. I just continued my life, and now I'm here in Chaldea as a Master for a while. Never looking back at my past." Sonic said
"Wait, if you never had a mother or father before. Then how do you feel about Raikou, who always acts as a mother figure to you? Do you not get the love and support you get as a regular human with loving parents?" Mash questioned
"She's just any other Servant in Chaldea I summoned here. Just a caring person who always has my back every day of the week. Everyone here is a friend to me. Whether it's Kiyohime, Serenity, Nagao, Gorgon, or all the rest. I love everyone equally! And I'm not saying this just because I'm a Master. I generally do care for everyone here. Sure, I may have been called a Rodent each time I summoned a new Servant. But the more time we spend and understand one another, we're inseparable. And that's something I will cherish forever. So in the case of Raikou, it isn't just family members you need to have to feel loved. She will always be one of my best buds and be there when we need her! Just not in the way where she needs to treat me like a child 24/7 a day. I don't want to do something I'm not familiar with." Sonic replied
"I understand you, Senpai. Everyone we summoned here is best friends with one another. We give out support to those in need of help. But there are certain boundaries around us that we wish to be respected, which is familiar with friendships. That's something we should always keep in mind. Thank you, Master. I'll never forget this!" Mash said
"That's what I like to hear from you, Mash! I respect everyone and will always do, but we all have boundaries that others would like to be appreciated with. And I am with that rule!" Sonic replied
Someone was eavesdropping on both his and Mash's conversation outside Sonic's room, though she wanted to enter the room and confront them about it. All she could is listen in and hear. After listening to the conversation, she understood more about Sonic's personal life and his feelings about family.
For The Next Few Days, Raikou Continues To Treat Sonic As A Literal Child. And More Intense Then Before. Feeding Him Food, and Going Everywhere With Him That He Went. Making His Bed For Him. Taking Down Enemies For Him. Even Going As Far As To Go With Him To His World And Meeting His Friends Back Home. Sonic, On The Inside, Was Getting Sick And Tired OF Being Taken Care Of As A Child But Didn't Want To Hurt Raikou's Feelings. He Understood That Raikou's personality Was To Be A Caring Mother, But Sonic Wasn't Into Things Like That. So For The Next Few Days, He Just Allowed Raikou To Keep Treating Him As A Kid While Trying to Figure Out How To Get Out Of This Situation.
*Sometime Later*
After a full day helping out Chaldea and clearing a Mini-Singularity, Sonic returns to his room with Raikou behind him as Charlotte Corday is waiting for Sonic, who is also busy.
"*Notices Sonic And Raikou Entering The Room* Welcome back, Master and Raikou. How was your day together?" Charlotte Corday asks
"Why hello there, Charlotte. It went as well as usual, like any other day. Watching over my dear child is just what I need." Raikou replied
"Hey there, Charlotte! Just the usual things around here. Sorry, I was gone the whole day. I just needed to get some errands cleared out first. Thanks for looking out for my room while I was away, even though you didn't have to." Sonic replied
"Don't worry, Sonic. It's my job to help out with my master masters as much as possible. I may not be a helpful Servant, but I'm happy that I still have someone like you who always cares about me. That's what makes me strive each day I see someone like you." Charlotte said
"Hehe! I can't argue with that, Corday. You are hard-working, after all, and I respect you a lot. I don't regret ever meeting someone like you." Sonic replied
"Thanks for the kind words, Master. You just made my day a lot better than before. Is there anything else I can help you with? Please let me know. I'll be willing to do it for my Master." Charlotte asks
"Not in the moment, so you can go on and relax. You deserve it!" Sonic replied
"Why certainly, Master. I haven't finished the book and want to continue it. If you need anything, I'll be there when you need me." Charlotte said
Eventually, Charlotte Corday makes her way out of Sonic's Room and leaves Sonic and Raikou behind as Sonic jumps onto his bed and begins to relax. While relaxing, he notices Raikou still looking at him with an attractive look on her face. Curious, Sonic decided to talk with her.
"What's the matter, Raikou? You don't look like your usual self. Is something wrong?" Sonic asks
"Oh, it's nothing, Sonic. It's just that I was so keen to hear your conversation between you and Charlotte just now I didn't say anything. You do make friends all around, do you?" Raikou replied
"Yeah, I wouldn't trade my friends for the world. That includes you, Raikou!" Sonic said
"Ara~ I'm flattered that you care more about me than anything else. It put a smile on Mother's face! That's why you're the sweetest child a mother can have!" Raikou replied
"It's what you believe... then sure. I don't mind," Sonic said
"Awww... Even in an embarrassing state. You still are adorable! I want to hug you to death!" Raikou replied
"..."
"Oh, sorry, I got a little carried away there. Anyway, Master, I want to talk to you about something. You're not busy right now, correct?" Raikou said
"Not at all, Raikou! Ask me anything you like! I don't mind. What is it that you have in mind?" Sonic asks
"Master... I've wanted to say something for a while now, and I think it's time to get an answer from you. *Takes A Deep Breath* Is it true you never had a family before? Is that why you always get mixed feelings whenever I tell you you're my child and always mention that I'm your Mother? Is all of this just happening so you won't have to hurt my feelings? Please answer me seriously, Master. Mother won't get mad at you. I want to know the truth." Raikou questioned
"*Stares At Raikou, Speechless From The Question She Asked Him* ..."
"Sonic? Are you alright? You're not paying anything..." Raikou confused
"You heard everything that night, didn't you? I'm not mistaken, right?" Sonic said
"Yes... I heard everything between you and Mash while everyone else was asleep. But I didn't mean to do it out of spite. I was walking around Chaldea when I heard you and Mash talking through the walls. I was curious, so I started listening to the conversation. And that's when I learned a lot from what I asked. I can't believe you never told me a family member never raised you." Raikou said
"Raikou..."
"Why, Master, haven't you told me about this before? If you had told me earlier, I could've given you much more than I have to offer. If you told me you never had a family earlier..." Raikou said
"Raikou..."
"*Crying* How can you do this to me, Sonic? How could you hide the fact you never grew up with family around you? Family is supposed to be with you and support you no matter where you go. Is that why you don't feel the same when I call you my son? Because you were never given that love that a child would want?" Raikou said
Sonic stared at Raikou, who saw tears rolling down her face and looked at him, waiting for a response. Eventually, Sonic did answer Raikou.
"Just because I didn't grow up with parents doesn't mean I can't get the support you guys give me—especially you, Raikou. And also, I'm not pretending to hide the fact I wouldn't say I like being called someone's child and pretending to smile whenever I'm around you. I'm just uncomfortable doing something I have never experienced before. Like being someone's kid, That's all." Sonic replied
"H-Huh? What are you talking about, Sonic? What do you mean by not wishing to do something that you never experienced before." Raikou questioned
"Raikou, for all the years I've been alive up to this point. I've met tons of people that I can consider family to me. No matter the person, I greatly respect them. What I mean by this is that being cared for goes exceedingly above. I'm not the type to be called someone else's child, but that doesn't mean I'm pushing you away or rejecting you. You're one of my best friends, Raikou! Why would I leave someone as kind and supportive as you, who's been on my side for a while now? These past few days showed me that greatly you have my back in everything, and I couldn't be grateful for that." Sonic said
"Master..."
"And you want another example. Take Kintoki, for instance. Sure, he isn't a fan of you calling him a child all the time when you two are around. But you should know that deep down. He cares about you immensely. And he wouldn't want to see someone like you down and disappointed all day, right? Even when he crosses the boundaries with you sometimes, he knows he needs to come back and settle things peacefully with you. Sonic said
"*Wiping Tears* Y-Yes. Kintoki. My wonderful child, I have cared for since we were alive. He means the only thing in the world to me. He may be a troublemaker sometimes and always joins those two Onis most of the time. Deep down, I cannot express that he loves his Mother and would always find a way to make a mother proud." Raikou commented
"I do not doubt that Kintoki gave you the support right now as when you and he were alive. You have to realize, Raikou. I care for you a lot. I do! I know I said this over and over by this point, but it's all true. I want us to return to normal before you treat me like a child. I'll say this right now: yes, you're allowed to nickname me your "child," but I don't mind. But try not to go that overboard to the point you are taking me everywhere and watching me. I'm Sonic The Hedgehog, after all! I've been through many adventures; I can care for myself perfectly. But even so, I'll always be there with you, no matter what lies ahead; I'll always be there by your side. So, care to start over again?" Sonic replied
"*Thinking For A Little Before Coming To A Conclusion* Yes, Master. I'll always love and care for you when you need me the most. I promise I won't treat you the same way as what happened these past few days. Deep down, I know you still care about your Mother's feelings and would always want to take care of her at all costs. You're a child that a parent would always want! *Picks Up Sonic And Hugs Him* Thank you, Sonic. Thank you for being such a kind Master and being the best child I could ever ask for!" Raikou said
"*Hugs Raikou Back* Thanks buddy! I knew I could trust you! The first time we met, I knew our friendship would be sealed. Say, care to tag the kids to the simulation room with me? I promised I'll take them to the amusement park today, and they are waiting for me as we speak." Sonic asks
"Of course, I'll join you and the kids at the amusement park. Seeing the kids get excited when you're playing with them is so adorable. Let us be off. We don't need the kids to wait any longer for us." Raikou replied
