Life As A Chaldean Master
What's It Like Being A Master?
*Sonic's World*
"Flipping A Ring Up And Down* So that's how you two joined Chaldea?" Sonic asks
"Yeah, it was kind of a last-minute decision for me. I initially didn't plan to join but eventually decided to do so. Never have regretted it ever since." Gudao replies
"The same thing goes for me as well. It felt like entering a new world when I first stepped inside the building. How time flies." Gudako stated
"Great to see yourselves enjoying your time in Chaldea. The Servants all admire you for your hard work for us for so long. Heard it time and time again." Sonic commented
"I feel honored that the Servants recognize us for our work. Though, I wish I could do much more for you guys." Gudao explained
"While we appreciate the support of the Servants, we still have more potential for something bigger," Gudako said
"I do not doubt that. I see you two achieving greater heights shortly. You guys may be humans, but you're more than average if you know what I mean." Sonic commented
"Yeah, we understand. Hopefully, the Director can fully recognize our efforts to move to something bigger someday." Gudako stated
"Olga would eventually do something soon. I'll talk with her at some point about it." Sonic replies
"Heh~ I know you would, Sonic."
"It's just how I am, buddy. Always here to support a pal. *Pats Gudao's On The Back.*"
"Speaking of working. How's it like being a Master yourself, Sonic? Surely, you never thought you'd be in this position." Gudako asks
"Yeah, a Hedgehog being Humanity's Last Master can be challenging with the world on your back you have to save. I can't even imagine myself going through that whole ordeal." Gudao stated
"What's it like being a Master of Chaldea, you ask? *Thinking* Hmmm... Well, I will admit to say that I was slow in the beginning as Master. And by that, I don't even know what I was doing... I had no prior knowledge of how a Master functions, but I wouldn't say I like commanding someone else's choices, and I still don't. But either way, I came to Chaldea, became a Master on accident, and life has been different since that day." Sonic explains
"I can understand you, Sonic. I did not know about being a qualified Master before I joined Chaldea. Although I know about Magecraft, I wouldn't consider myself a Magus. Just an average person living a normal life as others." Gudako stated
"Especially for those who come from an entirely different world. We don't get those around here often besides the Lostbelts. Anyway, tell us more about your duties as now a Master." Gudao asks
"Well, being a Master, I didn't care much about it until I was told that Masters can summon and form contracts with Servants. I began questioning what I put myself into, but Mash eventually taught me how to summon my first Servants after we completed Orleans. By then, I already met a good amount of Servants themselves in both Fuyuki and Orleans." Sonic explaining
"Care to tell us who your first Servants were? I would like to know." Gudako asks
"Those I summoned first would be Artoria, Medusa, and Kiyohime. Those three were my first ever Servants I summoned, and you can probably figure out how those three reacted when they happened to see their Master, a talking Hedgehog." Sonic replies
"It wasn't easy for you to get along with those three."
"I wouldn't say that it was a terrible bond at first, but I did have to prove myself to them that I am capable of being a Master myself. Despite my looks, I needed to do my best to show them I was just as trustworthy and dedicated to becoming a Master after teaming up in battle and spending time together. I eventually got their trust; now, we are an inseparable team! It took a lot of time, but it was all worth it." Sonic explains
"What about the rest of the Servants that you summoned later on? How did they go for you?" Gudako questions
"Some Servants were easy to get along with, so I had no problem with certain types of Servants. However, I had to work extra for others who didn't trust me initially. Examples include Cu Alter, Saber Alter, Gilgamesh, and Lancelot. Those didn't believe I was a capable Master, nor did they like the idea that a Hedgehog like myself shouldn't be commanding someone like them. Yeah, it was pretty difficult at first." Sonic replies
"Man... Some people just don't see the same way," Gudao commented
"They shouldn't be mean about it either. If I'm honest, assuming people based on their appearances is a low thing. At least give someone the chance to prove themselves." Gudako ranted
"Yeah... But eventually, after a long while, I finally managed to gain the trust of everyone I summoned. So it's good to finally see everyone trust me being their Master, even if I'm just a Hedgehog with little knowledge being one in the first place." Sonic said
"You have such a high bond with your Servants; your room is always filled with chocolates on Valentine's Day, Halloween candy, and Christmas presents during those holidays. It's always funny seeing you open your door to have an avalanche of stuff fall in front of you." Gudao joked
"Hahahaha! Especially the Servants who love their Master a bit too much~ Isn't that right, Sonic? You have to keep your Servants satisfied as well, right? Can't leave them all behind~" Gudako laughing
"*Sighs In Annoyance* Stop please... If only they could stop doing that... No matter how often I tell them to stop, they take it to another level... I'm worried about what would happen in the future when that level reaches its peak..." Sonic annoyed
Gudao and Gudako giggled while Sonic rubbed his head in annoyance, sighing soon after and cracking his hands.
"Moving on from this topic. Being a Master, I have more stuff to deal with than before. Not only do I have to keep my world and your guys safe, but I also have to take care of the Servants, supply them with Chaos Energy, and keep them in line from attacking one another every so often. The most work I ever done, no doubt." Sonic stated
"I'm surprised you can supply them with Chaos Energy compared to Magical Energy. But I must ask, does it affect you for supplying with energy constantly?" Gudao questions
"That's why I give as little but enough Chaos Energy to the Servants that can supply them for a while. So, nothing terrible happens to me while doing so. Luckily, the Chaos Emeralds always have my back to resupply me with Chaos Every, so there's nothing to worry about." Sonic replies
"Heh~ There's always a solution to your problems. Even without prior training, you sound already qualified to be a Master way before you became one." Gudako stated
"If only that was the case and I wasn't forced into being one like what occurred, but I shouldn't dwell on that much anymore. I just accepted it and moved on as I always had."
"Can't change the past anymore, Sonic. We have to deal with it and learn from it moving forward. That's how we work around inside Chaldea." Gudao said
"Mhmm."
"Yeah, you guys are right. But even still, I shouldn't be the one taking all the credit for the hard work. You two should be in the same ball pit as well. You guys deserve as much credit as possible!" Sonic exclaimed
"Well... We're just a couple of Chaldean workers working behind the scenes while you and the Servants go out there and fight to save our world." Gudao replies
"No way in hell we could do something like ourselves; we're just a couple of young humans with no fighting knowledge or anything like that," Gudako adds
"Doubt that; I know you two are great fighters as well. Believe me when I say this: I see great potential in you two. Sure, you guys might be average workers in your eyes, but I know you two can achieve great things in the future. You're going out there and helping us take your world back from this ordeal. I wouldn't be surprised if, one day, you two will be qualified Masters as well. Or, in another case, overcome become the greatest Masters the world has ever seen." Sonic assured
"Sonic..."
"I think you're expecting a lot from us, Sonic... As I said, we're just workers at the end of the day. I don't think we would be as capable of fighting as you are. And that's okay for us; I don't mind being a worker, as long as I can, you and the Sevrants. That's more than enough for the two of us." Gudako stated
"That's what you think initially, but don't worry, you'll achieve even bigger stuff soon. For now, continue working on what you're doing right now. But in the future, expect a bigger opportunity also to come around. Don't think this is how your lives will be forever." Sonic said
"I'll remember what you said yourself, Sonic. Let's see if your words truly come true. But for now, we'll continue working for Chaldea as average workers." Gudao commented
"Fine by me."
"Another thing, Sonic. I always wanted to ask this for a little. That being, do you plan to stay a Master your entire life? Do you plan to continue being one or retire from the role as one and move on from it?" Gudako asks
"*Looks At Gudako And Gudao* You think I'll abandon everyone like that, buddy? After all the years of building friendships with Mash, Olga, Sion, the Servants, and you two, do you think I will just run off to the sunset and never look back? That's the last that I want to happen." Sonic replies
Gudao and Gudako look at one another as Sonic stands up and looks up at the clear evening sky of Green Hill Zone.
"While I stand by being accessible and making your own choices, I don't plan to leave any of your guys behind. You all mean the world to me. I haven't done anything like this since the Galeem and Dharkhon incident. How could I ever leave behind the people I appreciate a lot? The people who accepted me for who I am? The ones that I can call family?" Sonic stated
"-Sonic..."
"-Sonic..."
"*Walks Up To Gudao And Gudako* I'm not going anywhere. We still have a world to save. I promised Romani himself before that I'd do whatever it takes to bring peace to your guy's world. No matter the hardships we go through. No matter what happens to us, together, we can overcome this and finally save your guy's world. We saw how it was taken from us... Now, we are going to get it back. No matter how long it takes, I'll make Chaldea's world finally get to see its world restored. You got that?" Sonic promised
The two stood there silent and hugged him tightly; Sonic returned the favor and hugged them in return, patting them on the back.
"Hehe~ There there, you two, everything will be alright. But I can't do all of this all by myself. I need you guys if we're going to save the planet. I will need everything from you guys if we're ever going to do this. You understand? I need all of you." Sonic said
"Yes... Sonic..." Gudako said
"We will do everything we can to take our world back... No matter what it takes..." Gudao said
"Thank you guys. It means a lot. What you guys do right now is already helpful a lot for us. Continue working on yourselves, and I promise you'll achieve great things. Understood?" Sonic assured
"-Understood..."
"-Understood..."
"That's all I needed to hear from you two. Now come, nighttime is above us. Let's get to Chaldea and have dinner with the Servants. I know they miss our company right now." Sonic commented
