Rewards Mean Nothing

*Sonic's Room*

"*Enters Sonic's Room Uninvited* Good Morning, My little Master! Did you sleep well last night?" Kukulkan asked

"*Reading A Book Peacefully, Not Aware Kukulkan Was There* What a lovely book I'm reading. Murasaki always picks the best one for me." Sonic commented

"..."

Kukulkan looks at Sonic with a dumbfounded face at the fact that Sonic ignored her, intrigued by the book he is reading. She quickly flies above the bed to get his attention and falls on it soon after. Causing the bed to shake and Sonic to be disrupted from reading.

"Huh? *Moves The Book Away And See's Kukulkan Lying In Front Of Him And Look At Him With A Smile On Her Face* Oh, Hey Kuku, what's up? Let me guess, I got too intrigued with reading again, didn't I?" Sonic asks

"Hey, you finally noticed me! Good morning, Master! How are you doing today? Ready to start the day with me?" Kukulkan stated

"Well, I just returned from returning to my world this morning. Eggman was up to no good again, so I had to return and deal with that for a bit." Sonic replies

"And you went without me? How could you! I wanted to go as well!" Kukulkan exclaimed

"It was a last-minute decision, Kuku. Didn't realize Egghead was up to no good until Tails notified me, so I rushed back home without telling anyone." Sonic explained

"Hmph! Next time, I'm coming with you whether you like it or not." Kukulkan commented

"I don't know when Eggman will strike, but I'm alright. *Closes The Book* why are you here to begin with?" Sonic asks

"Oh. Were you interested in *Stops Mid Sentence And Looks Around Sonic's Room* ..." Kukulkan commented.

"*Looks At Kukulkan With A confused look* Kuku, are you sure you're okay? You've been acting kinda weird-"

"WHY DOES YOUR ROOM LOOK THE SAME BEFORE?! I THOUGHT YOU'D BE REWARDED AFTER ALL YOU DONE!" Kukulkan shouted

"WHOA! WHOA! Calm down, Kuku! What's the deal?!" Sonic very confused

"What is the meaning of this?! For a building this massive, this is what you are given?! This is futile! Everyone recognizes the achievements that you did for Chaldea! Wait, not only Chaldea but everything you did for your world! A bigger room would be suitable for you! A room that would accommodate the two of us!" Kukulkan explained

Sonic was extremely confused and didn't know what to say. After a long while of trying to process everything, Sonic finally understands what Kukulkan is trying to say and decides to respond.

"Oh, now I understand what you're trying to say. Well, I don't care about being rewarded for trying to save the world. I'm not too fond of being treated with fancy stuff for something I love doing. I saved this world and my home countless times, but even still. I don't expect anything in return, and I'm perfectly fine with that." Sonic explained

"*Looks At Him Dumbfounded* What are you saying, Master?! Are you only saying this because you're scared of asking for rewards yourself?! You genuinely need to be rewarded for putting your life on the line and all that! I have proof of that back in Nahui Mictlan. I know how much you went through just for us to make it through! You risked your life just for the sake of keeping us safe!" Kukulkan exclaimed

"Look, Kukulkan, I understand where you are coming from. I know how much we all went through inside that Seventh Lostbelt. But even still, I'm just doing it because it's what I love doing. A Hedgehog like me only cares about wanting the world to be better—a place where everyone lives peacefully and doesn't have to deal with constant threats the whole time. Just because I'm not being rewarded for my efforts doesn't mean I'm bothered by it. That's how it's been since the beginning, and it'll continue to be like that for a long time." Sonic replies

Kukulkan pouts, and Sonic notices that she doesn't like that reaction. Soon enough, she turns around and slowly begins to walk away. Sonic looks at her and walks away from him.

"I cannot allow this to go any further, Master! You not being rewarded wouldn't sit right with me!" Kukulkan stated

"What are you doing, and where are you going?" Sonic asks

"I'll be right back! I have some business to take care of!" Kukulkan replies

Before Kukulkan could take off and exit Sonic's room, Sonic quickly grabbed Kukulkan's right arm and stopped her from doing what she would do. Kukulkan turns her to look at Sonic with a concerned look.

"Kuku... We need to talk this out." Sonic stated

"..."

*A Little Later*

"Kuku, I appreciate you wanting me to be rewarded for going out there and saving the world, but I shouldn't be the only one being rewarded for doing so," Sonic said

"Only one to be rewarded?" Kukulkan asks

"Not being rewarded... I'm fine. Instead, the others should be credited much more than I'm given! Seriously, I wouldn't have been able to get this far without the other Servants here. They are the main reason we made it this far in the 1st place!" Sonic replies

"..."

"I give a lot of credit to the others for allowing me to be their Master despite the talking Hedgehog I am. A Hedgehog like me shouldn't be a Master in the first place, but that's beside the point. But what matters is the Servants' sacrifices for myself, Mash, and others to continue and save this world. They put their lives on the line for me to continue this journey. This journey is filled with a dangerous path. And believe me, this is no easy journey for any of us, but here we are. Still standing today thanks to the Servants." Sonic said

"Master..."

"That goes for you as well, Kukulkan. Your sacrifice to take down ORT wasn't in vain. I wouldn't let your decision be all for nothing. I hate myself for going out that easily after everything you've done for us. I bear a lot of the responsibility to myself."

"M-Master..."

"But this focuses less on me and more on the Servants. I have several examples of Servers doing just as unique things out there. THEY deserve to be rewarded, not me. An adventure like this is nothing to me. Heck, I've been doing this since I was a kid. However, the only time I feel rewarded is when I see my friends happy and enjoying life to the fullest~" Sonic said

"Huh?"

"Seeing my friends enjoying themselves is the best thing I could ever have! No matter the Servant or the Servant Class they are in, just seeing them smile brings me nothing but joy! People such as Gorgon, Arjuna, Dantes, Cu Alter, Consort Yu, and the rest smile, which is the greatest thing for me! That includes you as well, Kukulkan~"

"*Blushes* O-Oh! MASTER!" Kukulkan excited

"And I especially can't forget about the Ritsukas as well! Those two are the most incredible people I ever worked alongside with! While they may be humans to all of you, I see them as strong individuals willing to do their best to support us tooth and nail. Regardless of who they are, I can't seriously thank them enough for their strenuous efforts. And I'm not saying that because I want to, but because they help out around, even as Chaldean workers. I still have a feeling they'll achieve greater in the future. We have to wait and see what happens." Sonic said

"Hehe~ Yeah, I can't forget about those two. Those two are so adorable~ But still, are you sure you aren't affected by not being rewarded after everything you've gone through?" Kukulkan stated

"I'll continue doing what I love doing, Kuku. I love to go out, run around as I have always done, be free, explore new places, and meet my friends! That much is enough for me! I don't need a new room to satisfy my needs; I already have enough! But even still, I appreciate you wanting to help with all that. And I can't excuse all of that." Sonic replies

"Thank you, Master~ Thank you for being a caring and amazing Master~ I'll always continue to stand and fight alongside you for as long as I'm your Servant. Thank you again, Master." Kukulkan thanking him

Kukulkan and Sonic hugged one another for a little bit, Sonic patting her back as Kukulkan giggled. They then fist-bumped one another soon after hugging each other.

"Are you positive that you don't want a new room?" Kukulkan asks

"I'm okay with what I got right now. Don't worry about it, got it?" Sonic replies

"Hmmm... That's too bad. *Gets Closer To His Ear* What if I told you I left something for you inside your current room, Master?" Kukulkan whispers

Sonic looks at Kukulkan for a moment before dashing away immediately. Kukulkan follows behind soon after and follows Sonic.

*Back To Sonic's Room*

Sonic quickly returns to his room and sees that everything inside it is completely torn apart and broken from every single side of the room. Sonic's mouth widened, shocked at the sight that he was looking at.

"*Peaks Inside The room* Holy shit, Senpai... What the hell did you do to this place? It looks like when Ana ambushed Chaldea back then." Consort Yu commented

"I SAID I WAS SORRY, OKAY?!" Anastasia shouted from across the hall

"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO MY ROOM?! IT WASN'T LIKE THIS NOT EVEN AN HOUR AGO!" Sonic shocked

"*Whistles* Whoa, Sonic. What exactly happened here? Didn't realize the little mice could cause this much damage to one room." Angra Mainyu commented

"First of all, disrespectful calling us that! Second, we would never do such a thing to our Master's room!" Daikokuten 1 exclaimed

"Someone else must've caused this to Master's room! But who exactly?" Daikokuten 2 asks

"Whoever the hell it was, it seems like they had some vendetta towards the rodent." Saber Alter said

"*Sighs* There's only one person that might know the answer..." Sonic commented

"Settle down, everyone; everything is under control. Don't worry about it, Master. I already notified the Director about your damaged room. She said that she'll help you find a new one for you while we fix this one~ *Smiles*" Kukulkan stated

Sonic and the other Servers look at Kukulkan, dumbfounded. Kukulkan notices them and awkwardly giggles while rubbing her back. All she can do is laugh in this current situation.

"-Ehehehe... I guess destroying Master's room wasn't the best option here..." Kukulkan commented.

"YOU THINK?!" Everyone shouted

"H-HEY! DON'T YELL AT ME LIKE THAT!" Kukulkan exclaimed
