Life As A Chaldean Master
You Smell Of Blood
"*Cleaning His Shoes, Taking The Sand Out Of Them* Another day of getting yourself dirty, Sonic. The typical job for the several years." Sonic commented
"As expected from someone who has walked the path of carnage. You're used to getting your hands dirty to walk the path of freedom." Ushi Gozen stated
"Carnage, you say? I don't know if "Carnage" fits what I'm saying right now. I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do here, that's all." Sonic corrects
"I most certainly know what I'm talking about, Master. You know what you've been through this whole time. You are seeing pools of blood around your feet while you continue to walk past it. You tried everything you could to prevent a great loss of life, but your work has caused many to fall. Even those you call your friends." Ushi Gozen elaborates
"How many times are you guys going to bring this up? This job is much more different than what I'm used to. I'm not alone in this." Sonic replies
"I know your heart comes from a place of love and care. But not all of this is smiles and laughter; we all had to get our hands dirty to do the job. I suppose you never once considered taking one's life for your goals. After all, you were raised with that mindset of everything safe from danger." Ushi Gozen said
"That's just crazy talk, Ushi. I... would never destroy someone's life; I'm being truthful here; I'd sacrifice myself if it had to come to that scenario. I would rather have you all stay safe than have your lives cut short." Sonic replies
"A foolish idea, but that is your decision to decide. I'm simply following your orders; that is all I'm tasked with, to eliminate everything so you can continue pursuing your goal for a better future." Ushi Gozen stated
"Right... We need to change that mindset of your destruction at some point." Sonic commented
"That is how I function, Master. There is nothing you can do to repair what has already been broken. But that doesn't mean I neglect your hospitality, giving an Avenger like me freedom. A foolish choice of yours, but one I do appreciate." Ushi Gozen said
"Giving you guys freedom is my top priority; nothing new about that," Sonic commented.
"Yes, yes. *She Walks Closer To Sonic And Gently Puts Her Hand On His Cheeks* I can feel it... Your guilt of having to ruin thousands of lives for the sake of saving this world. Those cries of help you wanted to save but can only do so little." Ushi Gozen said
"..."
"You have indeed seen some traumatizing stuff that you wish to never think about. I have to live with it every day, but what you've gone through hasn't stopped you from reaching the end. Hasn't it? It's hell for you, but we both knew this journey has a cost." Ushi Gozen said
"Ushi... I'm only going to say one last time. I always regretted my actions; after realizing what I was doing to save this world, I have been going back and forth constantly to see whether my actions were justified. I love a little good adventure, but if that adventure comes at a cost... Killing people... That isn't for me... That's probably because I grew up believing my actions don't harm anyone... But now that I've seen the brutality of this place... It's queriable, to say the least..." Sonic admits
"It's never easy for someone to contemplate death when they see it with their own eyes. You fought your way through fire without seeing much of a single soul fall in front of you. You just viewed life as simpler and pushed aside the terrible a human accepts." Ushi Gozen added
"I'll come clean and say that actions have affected so many. Especially for those in those gosh-forsaken Lostbelts before... But I saw! I saw the terrible conditions those people were suffering with! I knew I had to help them find a better life and environment! I've been blamed for their deaths multiple times! All I was doing was trying to help them, but even so, I know they are all in a better place, finally at peace. I know somewhere out there, those people are enjoying their new lives without having to worry about a single thing. They are no longer here; I get that... But at least they aren't in those cages I call Lostbelts. And that's more important to me than anything else, Ushi. So, if you see it as a murderous Hedgehog, then so be it. But I know deep down... *Clinches His Fist* It was the right decision..." Sonic is letting out some steam
"Ha... You have been keeping those feelings locked away for quite some time. I understand where you're coming from; you were trying to complete your goal all this time. It seems we have some connections, Master~ *Gently Strokes Sonic's Cheeks* But fear not Little Blue. I would never call you a "Murderous Hedgehog," you don't seem the type to do such a thing on purpose. It would be best if you came to accept the concept of death; every one of us, including you, must have an end at some point. We don't know our last moments, but you must be prepared. As much as you wish to ignore it, it'll eventually strike one way or another." Ushi Gozen explains
"So much for a happy ending, huh?" Sonic said
"Your final moments can be a happy one as well. But that is far into the future for you; you still have a world to save. As much of a killer as I am, I won't stop you from achieving your goal. I have to follow Master's order regardless of their goal. If you wish me to eliminate anyone or anything in sight, just a simple word is enough for me. "Go."" Ushi Gozen stated
"Riiight... Like I said, I don't Command anyone. But I expect you and the rest to know boundaries and how far you take things during battle. One of them is killing anyone without any good reason. I don't want to abuse that power." Sonic said
"Of course. I'll remember those words for the future. Your words have the same weight as any other Master. Consider yourself truly lucky I answered your summoning, Master~" Ushi Gozen replies
"It's good to know you have some semblance in you, Ushi. I'll do my best not to disappoint you." Sonic commented
"You don't know my approval for your actions. You do what seems right for you. I am only just following what you say." Ushi Gozen said
