Chapter 7 Third action / Undead Boar.
(Morning. 11:57am.)
"And with that, it's finished!" Ricardo says proudly, looking at the table full of the food he's just prepared. "Children! Lunch is ready!"
"We're coming!" Anais says from outside the house.
"Are they still at it?" Ricardo mutters to himself. He goes to the kitchen window and looks out over the back yard of his house.
Ricardo watched his three children. Anais is holding something that looks like a stopwatch while sitting on the stairs, while Gumball and Darwin are shirtless on the grass and doing their plank exercise. They both have their eyes closed and their faces show an expression of concentration.
"Are you going to be long?" Ricardo says a little loudly so that the three of them can hear him.
"No, they just want to beat their own record." Anais says, looking at the timer. "And it's been 40 seconds."
Gumball and Darwin have been doing this physical training for a week now. Gumball does it so he doesn't get tired after using the Rider System, while Darwin does it just to support his brother.
"Ahh I give up!" Darwin groans, relaxing his body and lying down on the grass, while holding his stomach. "How long has it been?"
"56 seconds." Anais says looking at the stopwatch. "But Gumball seems to be holding up well." Anais points to Gumball who is still doing the plank exercise.
"How can you stand it?" Darwin says, moving away a little and sitting down on the stairs.
"I try not to think too much and just sit in nothingness..." Gumball says, still doing the plank. "How long?"
"1 minute and 12 seconds." Anais says looking at the timer.
"That's enough..." Gumball relaxes his body and lies down on the grass. "That's all for now..." Gumball says, breathing heavily.
"For now?!..." Darwin asks absently as he holds his stomach.
"We have to be persistent if we want to evolve!" Gumball says as he lies on his stomach and looks up at the sky.
"You? Just you talking about making an effort?" Anais asks a little surprised.
"I think so too. You've never been one to work hard and have your own achievements." Darwin says, relaxing on the stairs.
"It's just..." Gumball thinks about the words Saiko had said. Remembering that he and Anais are the only ones who can use the Rider System. "I just decided to change it up a bit."
"Really?..." Anais looks at Gumball a little suspiciously, but accepts the answer. "All right then, take it!" Anais throws Gumball a towel.
"Children! Come on!" Ricardo shouts in his voice from the kitchen.
"We're coming!" The three of them speak at the same time.
[...]
"But do you think Penny will like you better if you get stronger?" Darwin says, taking a spoonful of food and eating it.
"Almost..." Gumball looks away, not knowing whether to continue with the lie or tell the truth. "It's that way."
"Do you remember how Mom got how muscular and strong Dad got?" Anais says, taking a portion of the food.
"Oh yes..." Ricardo says remembering the day. "It was very exciting."
"But you still almost died a few times just to take those pictures!" Darwin laughs a little.
"Do what?" Ricardo scoffs a little. Raising his right arm and straining a little, his muscles become visible. "I'm still pretty strong."
"Can we stop talking about muscles and get back to eating?" Gumball says a little irritated.
"Spoilsport!" Darwin, Anais and Ricardo say at the same time.
PAUSE
(09:50pm.)
"Ahhh... Back home!" Nicole sighs as she opens the door and enters her house.
"Hi Mom!" Gumball Anais and Darwin say at the same time as they sit on the sofa playing Super Nintendo.
"Hi kids! Did you behave today?" Nicole says, leaving her purse hanging by the door.
"Oh, look darling!" Ricardo comes out of the kitchen carrying a tray of cookies. "The children have already eaten, so I let them have some fun before they go to bed." Ricardo approaches Nicole and offers her some cookies.
"Ahhh... thanks Ricardo." Nicole sighs, taking a cookie and eating it. "I think I'll take a shower and go to bed soon..."
Nicole eats the biscuit, takes another and then goes up to the second floor of the house.
"Don't you think Mom's working harder than usual?" Anais says as she watches Nicole climb the stairs.
"I wish I could help her with something. Like working with Gumball." Darwin says a little sadly.
"Don't worry about it, Darwin." Gumball says, patting Darwin on the back.
"You already help too much by not giving her too much work." Ricardo approaches the children and strokes Darwin's head. "Just try not to make too much of a mess and don't stress her out."
"Got it!" The three of them say at the same time.
Ricardo smiles at them and they go into the kitchen again.
"I think I'll go to bed..." Gumball yawns slightly as he gets up from the sofa.
"Classes go back to normal tomorrow, so I think I'd better go to bed too." Darwin says as he gets up too.
"Are you two any more helpful? What a magnificent surprise!" Anais laughs as she sees the two of them getting up.
Darwin and Gumball look at each other before lowering their eye lids and sticking out their tongues at Anais in response.
PAUSE
[...]
(12:10am.)
(School)
"Have you seen the videos?" A girl speaks while gossiping with another.
"Man, why did I miss that day?" Another girl says while looking at her cell phone.
The two girls are watching the recorded video of Blade's fight with the Undead Deer.
"Wow, that monster has the same powers as Masami!" The girl says in surprise.
"But he seems to know better how to use electrical powers!" The other girl says.
"Do you want to know how that fight went?" Tobias approaches the girls while winking.
The girls look at each other and let out a huff, turning away from Tobias.
"Hey, don't leave! I was there! I saw the fight going on!" Tobias tries to get the girls' attention, but fails miserably.
"I don't think they're interested in talking to you." Bobert says as he approaches Tobias.
"Mind your own business, Bobert!" Tobias mutters angrily.
[...]
"I still can't believe there's a Super Hero here!" Carrie says excitedly as she floats down the school corridors with Darwin and Clayton following her.
"Me too!" Darwin jumps up excitedly. "He was really cool fighting and those swords of his! What a thing!"
"You took that sword. Didn't you?" Clayton says as he follows the two. "How was the termination?"
"I had to push very hard because it was so heavy." Darwin says while looking thoughtful.
"Also, where's Gumball? Isn't he with you?" Carrie says as she approaches them both.
"He looked rushed, I think he wanted to go to the toilet!" Darwin says pointing a finger upwards.
"I can't believe it, this is it!" A nerdy kid shouts, drawing the attention of everyone in the corridor.
"What now, man?" Tobias says sounding frustrated.
"Blade's at it again!" The nerd boy says excitedly while watching on his cell phone
"WHAT?" The students shout as they approach the boy.
"Let me see!"
"Excuse me, I want to see!"
"Stop stepping on my foot!"
"Attention, everyone!" Carmen shouts, drawing everyone's attention. "It's up to you, Bobert."
Bobert lights up his eye, causing a huge holographic screen to appear in front of him. The students gather around, paying attention to the recording.
PAUSE
(In the streets.)
"GRRAAAAA!" An Undead screams as he runs over the cars he sees on the street.
"What's that?!" An elderly man driving a car shouts in despair.
He turns the wheel to try to avoid the Undead, but does so too quickly. The car swerves towards the Undead, which propels itself against the car and traps its head in the side of the vehicle.
"MEE GOD! HELP!" The elderly man screams as the Undead thrusts its head upwards and throws the car into the air.
The car spins through the air, and as the elderly man closes his eyes in despair, he hears the sound of breaking glass and is pulled out.
Feeling like he's falling to the ground, he stops.
"What?" The elderly man opens his eyes and sees someone who looks like some kind of hero in silver and blue armor.
"What's up, sir?" Blade says, putting the man down.
"Oh, thank you!" The old man gasps a little.
"I think you'd better go somewhere safe. Go on!" Blade indicates a diner to the man.
The old man runs to the diner and hides there. Blade turns to the Undead and draws his sword.
"Okay, an Undead Boar. It won't be too complicated, just don't stand in front of it." Blade holds his sword firmly and faces the Undead.
"Grrrr..." The Undead growls and rubs its right leg against the ground, looking like it's going to start running.
"Ohh! It's him!" A boy speaks as he picks up his cell phone and starts recording.
[...]
(At school.)
"What do you think he's going to do?" A girl with bright green hair speaks while focusing on the holographic screen.
"I hope he uses those cool cards of his again!" Darwin says as he stares at the screen.
"Do they really have to fight?" A boy made of balloons says worriedly. "They could talk and..."
"SHUT UP ALLAN!" All the students shout at the same time.
(In the street.)
"GRRAAAA!" The Undead screams and starts running towards Blade.
"Okay... This is it!" Blade starts running towards the Undead.
The two run towards each other, but just before they get close to each other, Blade leaps forward. Resting his free hand on the ground, he propels himself upwards.
The Undead is surprised by the Rider's attitude, but he's too fast to stop. Blade steps over the Undead and turns his body, managing to slash the Undead's back.
"Uf! It worked!" Blade lands on the ground and faces the Undead.
"Grrrr..." The Undead growls and stares back at Blade.
Blade signals with his hand, calling the Undead to fight.
The Undead snarls at the Rider and lunges at Blade. Blade runs towards the Undead and punches it in the stomach. The Undead tries to punch back, but Blade dodges and uses his sword to cut its arm.
"Way with a sword, isn't it Anais!" Blade smiles (of course it's not visible because of the helmet.) and makes another cut on the Undead's arm.
The Undead moves away a little and returns Blade's attack. Blade tries to dodge, but the Undead hits him in the chest.
Blade moves away a little while holding his chest. But he quickly returns his focus to the fight. Dodging another attack from the Undead, he holds his fangs and throws his feet back and delivers a knee to the Undead's chest.
The Undead chokes on the knee, but Blade doesn't give up and delivers another knee. Finally, placing his foot on the Undead's chest, he kicks him away.
Blade steps back and opens his Blay Rouzer. He picks up a card and passes it through the scanner "Kick!" The card is sucked into Blade's chest and he starts running towards the Undead, jumping up to kick it.
The Undead gets up and looks at Blade, seeing that he's about to get kicked, he raises his arm and grabs Blade's foot. Blade rests his other foot on the ground and uses his sword to cut the Undead's arm off.
The Undead groans in pain as he holds his severed arm. But it turns away from Blade and growls.
Blade faces the Undead and opens his Blay Rouzer and takes out a card, running it through the scanner "Beat!"
The Undead lunges at Blade and raises its remaining arm to punch him. Blade's fist lights up with a blue aura and he returns the punch.
The punches collide, deflect and end up hitting each other in the face. The Undead moves away while holding his face. Blade steps back while holding his chin.
"Ouch! That hurt like hell!" Blade mutters and opens his Blay Rouzer and takes out his last two cards. "Let's see what happens if I combine two cards!"
Blade passes one of the cards through the scanner "Slash!" He passes the other "Thunder!" The two cards become giant and appear behind Blade. He positions his sword, holding it firmly in both hands, and pulls the trigger. "Lightning Slash!" The Blay Rouzer lights up with a blue aura as sparks and electric rays shoot out from it.
The Undead snarls at Blade and runs up to him. Blade takes a deep breath and runs up to the Undead. With the two of them getting close to each other, Blade raises his sword and delivers a powerful electric cut to the Undead's chest, causing a vertical cut and a small explosion to appear between the two of them.
(At school.)
"Ohhhhww!" Tobias says, sounding impressed.
"That was pretty cool!" Darwin says as he seems to have stars in his eyes.
"How did he do that? Did he use the other monster's electrical power?" Carrie says, impressed by the fight.
"I think it's because he trapped the other monster in the card!" Banana Joe says intrigued.
"That's probably what it was!" Carmen said as she watched the holographic screen.
"But trapping those creatures wouldn't be-" Alan says.
"Shut up, Alan!" All the students speak and pay attention to the screen.
"What's going on here!?" Miss Simian enters the corridor looking annoyed. "Aren't you supposed to be in class?"
"Break time isn't over yet and we're watching Blade's angry fight against another one of those monsters!" Jamie says as he clenches his fists.
"Blade? That creep who destroyed the school? Let's see it!" Miss Simian says as she joins the students.
(On the streets.)
"*Cough* *Cough* Even with the helmet on I can still smell the smoke!" Blade wipes the smoke away from his face, he looks down and sees the Undead Boar lying on the ground. "Well... I guess now it's time for the sealing." Blade opens the Blay Rouzer and takes out a card. Throwing it at the Undead, she hits it and starts sucking it into her.
"I think I'd better get out of here soon!" Blade starts to run from the scene.
[...]
(At school.)
"What? Where? That smoke won't go away!" A girl complains.
"Bobert, do something!" Jamie says as he holds Bobert's head and starts shaking it from side to side.
"Error, error, transmission will be terminated!" Bobert's operating system starts to crash and the holographic screen shuts down.
"Oh come on!" A student shouts in frustration.
"Why did you do that!?" Another student says in frustration.
"Okay, enough of this!" Miss Simian shouts, attracting everyone's attention. "All of you to your classrooms! Now!"
"Thanks a lot... Jamie!" A student complains as he starts walking.
"Hey, it wasn't my fault! It's that stupid machine!" Jamie growls as he stomps off.
"Well... what do I do now?" Darwin mutters as he watches everyone leave.
"What do you say we have a snack?" Gumball speaks from behind Darwin, causing the boy to jump in fright.
"AI, GUY! Don't scare me like that!" Darwin shouts breathlessly.
"Sorry about that, hehe!" Gumball scoffs a little. "Shall we go to class?"
"Yeah... what's up?" Darwin mutters in frustration, as the two of them start walking around the school. "By the way, where's your backpack?"
"Shit!" Gumball slaps himself, realizing that he forgot his backpack near where he fought.
