Chapter 51: Safari Tour
Mina and Sonic are in their home to prepare for a trip to the Efrika city of Mazuri. "Well Sonic, we can have fun at Mazuri which has a nice location within an oasis in the middle of the dry savannah. In the middle is a Holy Tree that blessed their lands for thousands of years. The culture and wildlife here are rich and diverse. We are going to go on a safari tour in the savannah. It's going to be so cool," Mina said as she got dressed in something very light for the trip.
"Damn, looking fine Mina," Sonic said sounding impressed. Mina is sporting a white bandeau top showing off her tight waist, blue short shorts, and purple slippers. "Very little indeed," Sonic draws his eyes onto her curvy thighs hugging her shorts' legs, her top giving good coverage on her bust and her hair is tied in a ponytail.
"Well, it's going to be very warm. Keep my outfit as light as possible. I noticed your stares at my chest, this top has built-in support. Not much bounce there," Mina said.
"Cool, don't want to see you have a wardrobe malfunction," Sonic said as Mina pouted at this.
"You bet you wanted to see that," Mina flirted as she shook her bust making him juggle and causing the hedgehog to blush.
"Guilty as charged," he said as Mina giggled to kiss him on the cheek.
"Let's take the tornado and head over there," Mina said as they headed over to the airport to fly to Efrika.
Within a few hours, Sonic and Mina can see the landmass in view to see a port city in the distance. "What town is that?" Sonic asked.
"It is the port city of Mozi, a Human city connected to the United Federation. Lots of ships come there every day shopping out goods from places like Mazuri," Mina said as the ground below sports a reddish-brown tint to the soul.
"Very earthly," Sonic said.
"Yes, the soil has a certain color to it. Lots of corps are grown here and shipped across the world," Mina said as they spotted the city of Mazuri which is built around an oasis with vast savannah and towering trees casting shades onto the empty grasslands.
"This place has recovered since ADAM's attacks," Sonic said to feel happy the city has returned to normalize.
"Look at that, the Holy Tree in the middle of the city," Mina points to the large tree which has red and orange leaves on its branches.
"That is one hell of a sight," Sonic said.
"It is, it's central to the religion of this place. We should check it out before going on our safari," Mina said as they landed at the Mazuri airport to go onto the field for the heat was overpowering. "Oh, thank goodness for this top. It's insane with the sun rays here," Mina said as they noticed all the dark-skinned humans wearing very light clothing.
"People got the right idea in this weather," Sonic said as Mina looks at her smartphone to see the Safari will take place within a few hours.
"We got some time to kill before getting onto the safari trip. Let's check out the city," Mina said as they went out of the airport to be within the ancient human city whose history can be felt within its buildings and places.
"Pretty unique here," Sonic said as the buildings consisting of modern and ancient native buildings give the human city a distinct feeling.
"Yes, the past and present coming together into a nice mix. It reminds me of my Okina City which has a good mix of modern and ancient buildings. Let's head for the Holy Tree in the center of the city," Mina said as they went through the streets to feel the stone streets in a traditional area.
They see the huge tree looming over half the city of Mazuri with its rustic-colored leaves dancing against the wind. Sonic and Mina walk over a bridge that is built over a small river connected to the large lake in the middle of the oasis where the Holy Tree seeps its roots into the huge lake enriching its body.
"That tree is huge, even towers over the skyscrapers," Sonic said.
"I heard the Holy Tree was for well over 5000 years. Cleansing the water and shading the inner-city limits. It's quite the impressive specimen," Mina said as they stopped by the edge to be by the railing to see the massive tree casting its grace onto them.
"Gee, it's that old?" he asked to be surprised by this.
"Yes, Mobius holds many wonders and this tree is the oldest plant in the world still living. "Hey, let's take a picture here," Mina said as Sonic nodded his head.
"Sure," Sonic said as they got close together with Mina pressing her face against his. She pulls out the phone to stretch out her arm to take a pic.
"Say cheese," they both said with goofy smiles for the phone takes the picture to show up instantly on her screen. "I got us and the tree, perfect," Mina said as she looked at the time to see it was 12:30 PM. "Okay, it will take another hour until the safari tour starts. "We should go grab some food before going on the tour," Mina said.
"Neat, we should go to the food vendor. I bet they got some good chili dogs here. They got them very spicy here," Sonic said as they got out of the shade of the tree for the heat was making the air uncomfortable.
Mina takes the water bottle hanging from her backpack to pour it down her throat. "Gee, this is insane with the sun beating down on the streets like this," Mina said as she was sweating through her fur.
"Yeah, it is. Oh, there it is," Sonic sees the food vendor with the native human operating it.
"Welcome to our fine city. You two must be Sonic and Mina, the dynamic duo. It's an honor to have you two at my humble food cart," the food vendor said.
"No problem sir, we have to get some lunch," Sonic said.
"Cool, cool. I got these chili dogs with your names on them," the vendor said.
"Oh, can we have citrus tea please?" Mina asked.
"Of course, little missy," the human vendor said as he handed them their stuff. "Enjoy," he said.
"Thanks, man. This is their specialty chili dog with infused local spices. It's pretty good," Sonic said as they sat down under an umbrella to hide from the burning heat of the sun.
Mina bites into it for her mouth is flaming up but she quickly gets used to it. "Oh goodness, this is good but it is spicy," Mina said as he began to chop down on it to enjoy it.
"I am digging into this," Sonic said as Mina looked at an old building to think about the history of this place.
"Gee, this landmass used to be called Africa by the ancient humans. This was the birthplace of modern humans' rise to conquer this world. They used to be the dominant species on this planet which used to be called Earth but then the Alien Xorda wiped out 99% of humanity due to their greed for alien technology," Mina said thinking thoughtfully about it.
"Then we came out of the ooze of those alien bombs and we Mobians became the top species now," Sonic said as he drank his citrus tea to wash his hot dog down his throat.
"I have a feeling; we might end up doing the same things as the ancient humans. Thankfully Humans and Mobians are working together to make a better future so we will not become the ancient humans filled with greed and laziness," Mina said.
"Yep, without the bad guys, things would be pretty peaceful. Which would be kind of dull," Sonic said.
'We can always peacefully go on adventures like ruin hopping or exploring unknown islands," Mina said.
"Yes that would be cool along with our family in the future," Sonic said as Mina glowed in the face at the thought of her future husband and children going on trips together.
"That would be very sweet baby," Mina said as she drank up her tea for them to finish up with her checking her phone to see if the safari tour was coming up very soon. "Oh dear, we need to head for the terminal where the transports will take us onto the savannah," she said as they headed for the terminal where there were a bunch of people waiting in lines like a mixed couple consisting of a Mobian Cobra and a Human male enjoying themselves.
"Oh, are you two going on the safari?" the lady Cobra asked who is quite tall and only moves via her tail having no legs while she talks with a lisp.
"Yeah, we came to see all the animals on the savannah," Sonic said.
"I can't wait to see the elephants," Mina said.
"I do enjoy those elephants as well. My name is Kai and this is my husband, Del," Kai said as Del greeted them.
"Good afternoon you two, we came here recently to watch the animals as well. The weather is pretty warm, they should be active now," Dai said.
"This is our honeymoon, we got recently married," Kai said hugging her human husband to kiss him on the cheek with a snake-like tongue twisting across his face tenderly.
"That is cute, I hope for the best for you two," Mina said.
"Ditto," Sonic said.
"Thanks," Kai said as she fixes up her yellow summer dress going well with her red scales all over her body. "After here, we are going to retire to the hotel to have some 'fun'," Kai said as Dai patted her on the rear making her jump in delight.
"Indeed dear, I would love your embrace," Dai said as he traced his finger along the curves of her body, especially her ample bust.
"You love my coils huh, such a naughty boy," Kai said for them to head into the transport for them to begin their tour of the savannah.
"Hello everyone, I am going to be your tour guide for our safari tour. I am Raine and I will show you all the wonderful animals around this region. They have been protected due to poaching but our guards and security systems should keep them at bay," Raine said who is a Mobian gazelle wearing a brown ranger outfit.
They go out of the terminal to head for the outskirts to go to the safari location the people are sitting inside the transport with Sonic, Mina, Dai, and Kai sitting nearby.
"Good thing this transport has air conditioning," Mina said as Kai felt comfortable within the vehicle.
"I want to enjoy watching the animals without overheating my scales," Kai said.
"Thank the heavens for good cover in here," Dai said as they saw a bunch of giraffes nearby for them to be eating a lone tree.
"So beautiful," Mina said as the graceful animals were under the shade of the trees while eating the leaves on the branches.
"These giraffes are quite social animals who live in herds while fending off predators like lions and leopards. They use their long necks as weapons to display their domination through social hierarchies through necking. This necking is a term which is combat bouts between male giraffes to see who gains females and making young," Raine said for one of the giraffes to go over to check out the tourists.
Mina sees the tall animal wanting to pet it as she places her hand to begin stroking the side of its head. "So adorable," Mina said as the giraffe licked the fur on her arm slicking it with its spit.
"What a cute creature," Kai said as she wished her scales could get licked by the cute animal.
"Okay, we will move on to the next location," the tour guide said for them to spot a pack of hyenas nearby eating a big slab of meat. "These are Spotted Hyena has a social system which is openly competitive rather than cooperative like accessing food and mates which depends on the ability to dominate other clan members. Females provide only for their cubs rather than assist each other, and males display no paternal care. Spotted hyena society is matriarchal; females are larger than males, and dominate them," Raine said as the females shove away the males for them to eat the food first.
"Good thing, we are not hyenas," Sonic said as Mina had a big goofy grin on her face.
"But you like it when I am on top of you," Mina said slyly.
"That's different," Sonic said with a blush as Mina cheerfully smirked at him.
"So cute," she said as Kai looked over to see a group of elephants by a watering hole.
"These elephants can be found in habitats as diverse as dry savannahs, deserts, marshes, and lakeshores. Because of their large size, elephants have a huge impact on their environments and are very important animals. They can uproot trees and roots which can shape savannahs into grasslands. When they dig for water during drought, they create waterholes that can be used by other animals," Raine said as someone is watching the transport from afar.
"Gee, Mobians, and Humans being together. How nasty, press the attack and gain some hostages," the commander ordered.
"Yes, Lord Kodos," a Mobian soldier said as one of the soldiers arms a rocket launcher to shoot at the transport. Mina noticed the rocket but it was too fast and slammed onto the side of the transport. The explosion rocked the vehicle and some people were killed in the explosion. Confusion and fear set in with the tour guide trying to calm them down.
"Remain calm, I managed to call GUN forces to our location. Lord Kodos and his rouges are attacking us," the tour guide gets her head blown off by a sniper shot with everyone panicky.
"Gee, that Kodos and his bastard soldiers. Nothing but terrorists," Kai said as Mina and Sonic sprang into action to try getting out of the transport but another rocket attack blew the transport into a flaming ruin. Sonic and Mina get flung onto the grass outside.
Kai and Dai are on the dirt for a huge brown-furred Mobian lion sporting a white mane around his head. He towers over everyone at 8 feet tall and donning a red battle suit with a big laser battle-ax. He looks over to the couple for them to hold hands with Dai getting in front of her to protect his Mobian wife.
"I see we have a mixed couple here, how disgraceful. You are a shame to your race snake kin. To be in bed with a dirty human," Kodos mocks them as the Cobra hisses at him with her hood spread wide showing off her beautiful yet deadly markings.
"You are the disgusting one here, you are a xenophobic piece of trash," Kai said.
"Yes, your nation is nothing more than a terror state," Dai said as the Lion Mobian looked at the dark-skinned human with disgust seeing him holding onto his snake Mobian wife.
"I am only speaking the truth. Humans are nothing but trouble and such be wiped out from the map," Kodos said.
"My husband is a sweetheart and wouldn't hurt a fly. I will not let you kill him," Kai raises and blocks Kodos' path to her husband.
"Kai," Dai said sounding worried.
"I would die protecting him," Kai said putting on a brave face.
"I can arrange that. There is one thing as bad as humans which are traitors to Mobian kind. Die bitch," Kodos swings his ax about to cut her down but Mina and Sonic use their swift speed to knock Kodos into a tree.
"Take that you bigoted piece of shit, go now," Mina said as the couple move out of the way to get behind the broken vehicle.
"So, the great heroes Sonic and Mina have come to grace my presence. It's a shame, you are both traitors to our kind," Kodos said as he ordered his troopers to kill them.
"Traitors, we are the ones helping keep the peace and you go around killing people for no reason," Sonic uses a Homing Attack to knock out several soldiers. Mina uses Hover to lift several enemy Mobian soldiers into the air with Sonic slamming them with Homing Attacks knocking them out.
"Aiding the humans, they created that monster ADAM who almost used his Metal Virus to enslave the Mobian kind," Kodos said as Sonic kicked the last soldier to knock her out.
"That is different, humans today are not the same as the ancient humans. United Federation wants to help everyone to make the world a better place," Mina said.
"Yeah, you're the real problem here," Sonic said as they went after Kodos for he powered up his battle armor to strengthen his body beyond his normal limits.
"How sad, you are just like that weakling Elias Acorn and his pathetic family," Kodos said as this raised Sonic's and Mina's interest. Kodos lunges at them to resist their attacks to slams into them. He punches Mina to knock her into a tree with Sonic using his homing attack but Kodos shakes off his attacks.
Kodos grabs Sonic in his ball form to uses his ax to slam into him launching him into the broken transport.
"How do you know the Acorns?" Mina asked as she lobbed fireballs to blast into his power armor to do some damage.
"I used to work for them as their head general but they didn't like how I hated the humans for the disgusting piece of filth they truly are," Kodos said as Sonic used Diamond Dash to harden his ball form to launch himself into Kodos to slam into his suit to knock him onto the ground.
Mina uses Laser to slam into the huge Mobian to make him stumble onto the ground. He gets back up and slams them both with his battle ax for the duo to get back up easily.
Soon GUN forces arrive for Kodos knows his kidnapping plan failed. "We will meet again you two. You made a powerful enemy today," Kodos tosses a flash grenade to blind everyone in the area for his remaining forces to flee from the area.
"Gee, this is insane," Sonic said as Mina checked on Kai and Dai.
"Are you two okay?" Mina asked.
"Yes thanks to you two," Dai said as Kai was getting angry with Kodos.
"That monster is a total tyrant. I can't believe this man took over Stonehaven and turned it into an empire of hate," Kai said.
"Indeed, Kodos used to be some general from another Mobian Kingdom. He rolled up into Efrika and turned over Stonehaven at the most southern tip of Efrika," Dai said.
"I see, even with Eggman gone. There are still powerful threats here who break the peace here," Mina said.
"We will be there to stop them," Sonic said as he gave Mina a high five.
"Of course, sadly the safari tour is not going to happen," Mina said as GUN forces rounded up the knocked soldiers to secure the area.
Elsewhere within a lab deep in Snively's castle. He and his wife Regina are looking over Mina's clones to be impressed with his newest creation. "My love, you have done it," Regina said as Snively was impressed with his genius.
"My dear, I am awe in of my talents. I have managed to use the blood of that mongoose to create a perfect weapon for me to take out my enemies, especially that troublesome Hedgehog. I will do what my uncle failed to do and it's to kill Sonic," Snively looks at the clone Mina walking into the room.
"I am ready to engage with the stupid hedgehog," the clone Mina said.
"Yes, Minerva Mongoose. I have done all the modifications I have along with giving you a more powerful Mother Wisp clone to power you up. I need you to aid me in defeating the blue rat," Snively said.
"Of course, sir," Minerva said as she felt like these humans were beneath her. "Gee, all this training to become this midget's attack dog. How embarrassing but that girl Mina seems like a weakling for not using her powers to their full potential. Soon I will crush her and become an even better woman than she will ever be," Minerva said as she began to power up with rainbow energy which shook the whole area as she prepared to kill her good counterpart.
