Chapter 54: Eyes of a Dragon Pt 3
Nicole is looking over the camera to see enemies going around the outskirts of the castle. "Conquering Storm and her cyber ninjas, allowing them inside will confuse the mayhem," Nicole said as she disabled the security systems in the side doors of the fortress. "I hope Minerva knows what she is doing?" Nicole wondered as she kept her Iron Nicole persona to keep tricking Snively and Regina.
Conquering Storm is calling Naugus on her comlink. "Sir, we are in the process of invading the castle to secure the emerald," the ninja master said.
"Good, keep at it, my dear. We are making good process,' Naugus said as the cyber ninja took out the robot guards to enter the castle to begin searching for the Chaos Emerald.
Back with the rebels, Razor and Mina are inside the broadcast center to put in all the things they need to show off the video streaming. "Okay, popstar, all systems ago. After the video is finished, you do your singing to rally the troops and don't stop until the job is done,' Razor said as Mina pulled out a mic from her bag and wirelessly connected to the systems.
"Don't worry I got this. This will be my finest performance yet," Mina said as she prepared herself to get on top of the roof with Espio, Liz, and Cosmo there to protect Mina when she was performing her songs to rally everyone within the city.
Sonic and Tails are on the streets to be with Razor to wait for the single to go on the offensive when the uprising happens. "This is going to be risky Sonic, can this girl make the people keep up their spirits?" Razor asked.
"She got some serious pipes and she can deeply inspire people. I have no doubts she can pull it off," Sonic said as everything was in place. Mina calmed herself for she was on top of the roof and completely exposed to any attack in any direction but she wanted to do it anyway.
The drone is encircling her having a camera pointed at her front side. "This is the biggest concert I have ever done. It will move the people to fight back against this cruel system and free themselves with my voice being the guiding hand to pull them up from their despair," Mina said as she cleared up her throat with Razor starting up the broadcast.
The wolf's face appears on every holo screen within Dragon City. "People of Dragon City, this is Razor of the Resistance. The time to rise is now, you can't tolerate the rule of the Snively and the Iron Queen Regina any longer. Those two use Mobians like toy things in their twisted including innocent children. These videos show the experiment taking place, these are leaks within their very labs where the twisted experiments had taken place," Razor said as all the videos transferred onto the holoscreen with every citizen looking on in horror.
Snively and Regina are torturing a bunch of Mobian children in a chamber. They were chained onto the walls begging for mercy but they found none from the two wicked humans. "Please we want to go home," the little fox boy begged for the evil couple to laugh at them.
"Don't be silly, this is for the wonders of science. Besides you filth animals are good fodder for my experiments like this," Snively said as Regina felt excited about this.
"Come on dear, gas the little buggers and see what happens," Regina said as they both have crooked smiles for Snively presses a button. Grey gas flows into the chamber and the children are shaking violently to be overwhelmed by the chemical weapon. The kids' lungs are burning up and their bodies are covered in burns and blisters. The kids screaming in pain with Snively and Regina laughing at them thinking they look pathetic.
"You dumb animal get what you deserve, covering this planet like a plague. Soon I will rid this world of you pathetic creatures and then I and my love will be the rulers of this new world," Snively said.
"Damn right and you Mobians will be the slaves to build that new world for us to rule over," Regina said as the video ended which lit up a fire within every citizen within the city.
Within the castle lab, Snively and Regina look on with shock and anger to see their experiments get leaked onto the screens within the city. "Who did this?" Snively questioned as Nicole looked on to be laughing at their childish outbursts.
"This is going to set off a riot within the city which the rebels will exploit," Regina said as Nicole pretended to look over the situation.
"Seems like it's already happening, the rebels are gathering their forces within Dragon City," Nicole said.
"Give the troops the order, kill anyone who gets in our way. I will know true fear when we hammer down over their heads and show them who is in charge," Snively said as they ordered the Swat bots and other robotic forces to swarm into the city to quell the uprisings.
Razor is pleased to see the videos worked and the people are on their side. The rebels are confronting the Swat Bots and other robotic units with Razor calling Mina on the radio. "Mina, time to make some magic," Razor said as he was wielding a laser pistol to blast off the head of a Swat Bot.
Mina is on top of the roof with the battle over the city begins with Mina's face on every screen in the city. "Everyone is counting on me; I prepare for this. Time to use this, Rhythm," Mina empowers her voice as it spreads across the city streets. "Don't give up, you got a big chance to win your freedom from those tyrants. My voice will guide you all to victory," Mina prepares her throat to put on an amazing performance for the rebels and the people.
"Can you see? The sun is shining on me. It makes me feel so free, so alive! It makes me want to survive! And the sky, makes me feel so high, the bad times pass me by. Cause today is going to be a brighter day!" Mina shouts with her voice rising across every screen in the city to empower others with the sound of her beautiful voice by boosting the morale, stamina, and overall battle prowess of her allies while simultaneously reducing the opposition's combat effectiveness by eroding their will to fight.
Razor feels a power surge for his aim is faster and sharper with the machines looks like it's getting slower and clunky in their aiming. "What is this?" Razor asked
"Her magical voice can boost our resolve and combat skills while slowing down the enemy, very handy," Sonic said as all the rebels and people were fighting back with their fears washed away while holding off the much bigger robot army.
"This is insane, I didn't know she had that type of power," Razor said.
"She keeps surprising me, that is why she is my best girl," Sonic commented as Mina is singing and danced her heart out trying to push onward despite the war happening around her.
"Can you feel the sunshine? Does it brighten up your day? Don't you feel that sometimes, you just need to run away? Reach out for the sunshine. Forget about the rain. Just think about the good times. And they will come back again," she continues her focus on singing and keeping everyone's morale.
Tails is wielding his pistol to blast away machines while using his Miles Electric handheld computer with him wirelessly hacking machines to cause even more confusion. "Mina is getting everyone to fight at once, it's nuts," Tails said as he fires several shots to blown away the Swat Bots. He tosses several anti-gravity mines to lift squads of bots helplessly into the air.
Sonic uses leashes out blades of wind from his legs to cut up several targets to reduce them to scrap metal. "Yeah, the whole city is in unison," Sonic Spin Dashes into groupings of Swat Bots with Tails shooting Hover Units out of the sky. Tails tosses a grenade to emit an EMP pulse to knock out an Assault Walker with Razor using a rocket launcher to destroy the disabled Assault Walker to pieces.
"Without you, there's nothing for me to do. Can you feel the sunshine, too? It's coming through, it makes me feel brand new. When you're here, I wish you were always near. Cause everything's so clear. And today is going to be a brighter day," she is getting into a groove that makes her vulnerable to anyone who can shoot her with a clean shot.
Snively and Regina at their screen to see the yellow mongoose's face all over the city with her music empowering their resolve and making the rebels a formidable force against the larger robotic forces. "Impossible, how she can do this. A small group of rebels along with the rioters are putting up a fight," Snively is shocked and angry by this.
"That woman can use her voice to invoke hope in their hearts and strengthen their resolves. We need to kill her and need this pathetic rebellion," Regina said as Nicole tried to spread out the robotic forces so they were easier to pick off for the rebels.
"Gee, we could have a chance to take back the dragon and end this nightmare these two made for the people here," Nicole said.
"Can you feel the sunshine? Does it brighten up your day? Brighten up your day. Don't you feel that sometimes, you just need to run away? Reach out for the sunshine. Forget about the rain. Just think about the good times. And they will come back again. When the sun goes down. I feel like I am waiting for another day. When the clouds go away," Mina pauses for she is twisting around to keep her singing.
Minerva looks on to be very jealous that she can do this. "Despite all my skills, she can do something I can't do. Using her voice to inspire hope in others and I hate it," Minerva looks down at her sword, very envious of this.
"Can you feel it?" Mina sees the crowd repeating what she is saying while they say the same phrase while her fans echo it back. "Oh yeah. Can you feel the sunshine? Does it brighten up your day? Brighten up your day. Don't you feel that sometimes, we just need to run away and reach out for the sunshine? Forget about the rain. Just think about the good times. And they will come back again," Mina's voice peaks with Espio, Liz, and Cosmo looking on to see the robotic forces heading for their positions.
"All units attack that mongoose and cut off her dreadful music. She is undermining us," Snively said as Espio pulled out a sniper rifle to shoot the head of a Swat Bot to knock it down.
"We need to defend Mina while she supports the rebels with her music," Espio said as Liz grabbed a minigun turret set up on the roof to let out a barrage of laser bolts to mow down tons of robots with Espio taking precise shots to bring them down.
Cosmo is summoning large tree roots to burst out of the ground to block the way to make it harder for the robots to get close to the ground. Flower buds appear on the roots to act like turrets to spit out explosive seeds to blast away the enemies.
The Assault Walkers unleashed flamethrowers to burn away the tree roots blocking their path. One Swat Bot fires its arm cannon at the dancing mongoose. Espio noticed the laser bolt missed hitting Mina's head by mere inches but Mina remained focused on her singing without delay.
"Can you feel the sunshine? Can you feel it? Does it brighten up your day? Brighten up your day. Don't you feel that sometimes, we just need to run away? Need to run away. Reach out for the sunshine," Mina shouted as the trio held off the hordes of robots with Mina's Rhythm power taking over them as they were fighting much harder and sharper than before to be able to hold the fort.
"Reach out and forget about the rain. Just think about the good times. And they will come back again," Mina is still singing with her friends defending her as she is leading the way with her voice. "Everyone is working so hard here, I can't let them down now," she thought as Espio pulled out a trigger to see a group of robots over a set of mines.
He presses the trigger to see several explosions rocking through the streets. Cosmo conjures wooden spikes to jet out of the streets to spear groupings of machines. "Keep going Mina," Cosmo urged as
"Whoa, whoa oh yeah. Brighten up your day. You just need to run away. Reach out, you got to reach out and come back again. You got to reach out," she finishes her song to switch to another song for the uprising managed to destroy tons of robots.
"Damn, we managed to hold them back," Razor said as Sonic sees the robots have greatly reduced.
"I bet those two got some tricks up their sleeves," Sonic said as the evil couple is pissed their robotic forces have been pushed back by rebel threat and Mina's song.
"They will pay for this, making fools of us because of that little bitch's song," Snively said as Regina softly stroked his bald head.
"Don't worry my dear, my Iron Constructs will deal with these fools," Regina uses her Techno Magicks to summon huge robotic gorillas called Iron Apes to send them on their way to crush the rebels. "They will take care of the filth out there," Regina said as the huge robots leaped toward the city.
"Oh crap, it's a giant robot gorilla," Sonic said as the machine is crushing rebels and people with its fists. It lobs a big blast of fire with Sonic using a flame shield to jump in front of people to protect them from hurt. "Get out of here now," Sonic said as the group ran away.
Mina begins her next song which is Living in the City. "Living in the city. You know you have to survive. Living in the city. You've got to keep the dream alive. Living in the city. Where everything is free. Living in the city," Mina starts up her second song for the second phase of the uprising starting with the iron Queen sending in her powerful robot servants to take care of the rebels.
"Kill the rebels, show them no mercy," Iron Queen ordered as her robotic apes lunged toward Mina Mongoose who was too focused on her singing to fight back with Espio, Liz, and Cosmo putting up defenses to fight the robot.
Cosmo begins to make the roots pop out of the ground trying to hold the machine back. The metal beast smashes through the tree roots for the flower buds to begin shooting balls of acid to soften the armor of the Iron Ape.
Espio notes a generator nearby as he shoots it emitting a big blast of electricity to stun the robot with Liz firing the minigun turret to target the weakened hull made by the acid attacks from Cosmo.
"We got this," Espio said as the girls nodded their heads to put their full force into the machine. The acid attacks, precise shots, and flurry of laser bolts were wearing down the big metal ape.
Cosmo focused on several trees nearby to supercharge their growth making them big enough to ensnare the machine in its barks and roots. Cosmo focuses on making the wood tighten around the big metal monster until she manages to crush the beast stopping it from killing Mina.
"Good work Cosmo," Liz said.
"Pretty good job," Espio said.
"No problem," Cosmo said as she looked over to see Mina was in the zone. Singing and dancing in the middle of a warzone to show no fear in the face of the evil couple trying to kill her but failing two times now.
"Can't you see? So many different things to see. There's no time. So many different things to do. But there's no time. So many people all around. So many feelings to be found. Living in a city where no one lets you down," Mina screams to her heart's content as Sonic and Tails fight the second Iron Ape.
Sonic goes into his Mystic state to become Mystic Sonic hovering into the air and shooting fireballs into the beast to knock it back. Tails tosses EMP grenades to further daze the machine with him using a Light Speed Attack to slam into the chest of the metal ape to launch it across the streets.
"Gee, those Iron Constructs of Regina are pretty tough," Razor orders his troops to open fire with laser bolts and rockets to slam into the hull of the beast to weaken it.
"I fought worse, Aqua Burst," Sonic summoned rows of bubbles around him to send them at the metal monster. The bubbles explode letting out even more bubbles like cluster bombs to damage the robot further.
"So many things that we've been through. Can you feel it? So many things for us to do. But can you feel it? So many faces all around. So many places to be found. Living in a city where nothing gets you down. Oh...Living in the city. You know you have to survive. Living in the city. You've got to keep the dream alive. Living in the city. Where everything is free. Living in the city," Mina lets her voice echo through the streets to embolden the crowds to keep fighting back.
"Sonic Wind," Sonic releases several wind crescents to rip into the hull of the metal beast. Tails hack a crane for it lunges into the back of the beast to pierce through it.
"Sonic, it's vulnerable," Tails said to set up Sonic to blow it away with powerful fireballs to reduce the machine into burned scrap.
"Hot damn, we managed to beat those too," Razor said as the rebels were cheering over this.
"Can't you see? You know you have to survive. Living in the city. Oh, oh, oh...Living in the city. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh...Living in the city. In the city, in the city. Living in the city. In the city, in the city. Living in the city. Living in the city. Living in the city," Mina softens her voice to finish her second song.
Mina can see they are winning the battle with her songs inspiring the rebels and people to overthrow their tyrants.
"Okay, one last song to finish off this concert," Mina said as she was going to sing Super Sonic Racing.
Regina is angered that her creations were destroyed. "This will not be tolerated. My dear, I will deal with them," Regina said as she opened the window to jump out of it. She lands on top of a huge metal serpent dragon as she merges with the head of the metal dragon to become one with it.
Mina looks over to see a massive serpent dragon looming over the city and heading in her direction. "You little bitch, screaming that trash on the airwaves, I will cook you alive," Regina raises out of her head showing only her torso and head using her staff to control the metal beast. "Die," Regina commands her beast to unleash a beam of flames to head for the broadcast station.
Sonic speeds towards her and then uses his Flame Shield to block the attack. "You know that is rude right, got to like the new look for you. Is it in season?" Sonic joked as this made Regina pissed beyond belief.
"Don't dare mock me Hedgehog, once I am done with you. I will rip your little girlfriend to pieces," Regina said as her most powerful Iron Construct called Iron Queen Dragon.
"Come on, run away. You don't have to stay. We're nearly out of time. But you're doing fine. So, stay on track. And don't look back. Just feel the pace. Come on now race," Mina's voice explodes with a passion to fuel Sonic's power with resolve and energy,
"This hits the spot, come on Iron Queen. Let's do this," Mystic Sonic said as he flew toward the robot dragon with Mina singing her song.
"Everybody's Super Sonic Racing. Try to keep your feet right on the ground. When you're Super Sonic Racing. There's no time to look around. We're just Super Sonic Racing. Running to the point of no return. Everybody's Super Sonic Racing. Come on, let the fires burn," Mina sings with Sonic fighting off the big metal dragon with Sonic peppering the side of the monster with water bubbles and fireballs to damage it.
"When did you learn how to use magic?" Regina questioned as his raw power was something to behold.
"My little secret," he flies around the laser blasts from the dragon. "Diamond Rush," Sonic hardens his body to curl into a ball to slam into the side of the dragon's head leaving a dent behind. "Flame Lance," Sonic cast down a flaming spear to impale the side of the dragon letting out a fiery explosion.
Regina felt weird as her will to fight was weakening by the minute. "How am I feeling so drained? That girl's voice is weakening me, I need to end this quickly," the Iron Queen Dragon leashes a field of flames to push back Sonic with her firing beams of flames at Sonic.
"Don't you know, we have to go to a place. Where you can feel my heart just race. Oh yeah. Let's go! Everybody's Super Sonic Racing. Try to keep your feet right on the ground. When you're Super Sonic Racing. There's no time to look around," Mina is empowering Sonic and depowering the Iron Queen while the two engage in a fierce battle above the city in the clouds.
"Sonic is dodging and weaving attacks to punch through a fireball to kick the head of the giant metal monster. "Aqua Laser," Sonic gathers water into his palms to charge up his spell.
"Unleash hell, my pet," Regina ordered as Iron Queen Dragon opened its maw to gather energy into its mouth. "Hellish Blast," the dragon leashes a huge beam of flames to clash with Sonic's Aqua Laser.
The two attacks try to overpower the other but Sonic manages to punch through and score a hit on the dragon's head. "Out of juice yet?" Sonic joked as Mina's power was keeping him fresh but Regina was laughing at him.
"Not even close, Overdrive," Regina makes the robot dragon overclock its systems to go beyond its limits to strike at Sonic with lightning speed. "I will crush you hedgehog and show the people they have no hope in defeating us," Regina mocks him.
"You are wrong Iron Witch, their hope is stronger than your fear," Sonic said as they clashed with Sonic gaining ground for Regina is overreaching for her dragon is starting to be weakened due to straining it too much.
"How? These two are freaks even for Mobians," Regina said as Sonic prepared to finish the Iron Queen's dragon.
"Time to end this, Aero Drill," Sonic flies towards the dragon with him spinning rapidly with wind energy around him becoming an energy drill made of razor winds.
"No, Hellish Blast," Regina made her dragon shoot an even stronger beam of flames at Sonic but he managed to punch through the beam slice through the head of the dragon, and appear behind the dragon a few mentions later.
"Begone," Sonic said as the dragon broke apart to fall onto the city into many pieces.
"Super Sonic Racing. Oh, yeah...Super Sonic Racing. Let's go! Oh, yeah...Everybody, everybody. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let's go! Everybody, everybody, everybody…oh yeah," Mina finishes her song for the battle is over and her role has been complete. She takes a bow with everyone cheering for her greatest performance ever as Sonic lands beside her.
"Damn girl, you were way past cool out there," Sonic said as Mina hugs him deeply.
"Yeah, I was nervous with the war going around me but I needed to do this. To give everyone the motivation they needed to fight back," Mina said as she kissed Sonic.
"You managed to pull off the biggest concert ever, you are going to be in the history books," Sonic said.
"Yeah, it was insane but got to be creative in these crazy times," Mina said as Liz went up to the fallen head of the Iron Queen Dragon with Regina badly injured from the fall.
"Your evil is over Iron Queen," Liz pulls out her blade and slits her throat letting the blood rush out of her wound and she swiftly dies.
Snively is beyond angry at this for his lover is now dead at the hands of the rebels. "Oh, this is nuts. I am going to burn those little rats down there. Nicole, time to get my stuff ready," Snively said as Nicole was destroying defense systems for her to use her drone to leave the area.
"Time to go, no need to keep the disguise anymore. Let the cyber ninjas wreck the place while I find the Chaos Emerald," Nicole uses her drone to fly through the place for Conquering Storm and her ninjas to invade the castle.
"Time to find that emerald and get out of here," the ninja master said as the castle became a warzone with Naugus's forces swarming the place with the rebels storming the castle trying to get rid of Snively for good.
