Chapter 81: Grand Experiment Pt 2
Maria looks on through the cameras to see the pair going through her minions. "How curious about these two. A Sonic and Mina who are not even from our neck of the woods," she said.
"What are you getting at?" Dr. Kintobor questioned as she was shocking him through the device still inside it.
"They are not on the same plane as we are. Do you know what a multiverse is?" she asked a question.
"Of course I do, why are you bringing this up?" Dr. Ivo asked as Maria had a cruel smile.
"You know. It's quite interesting. We come from this world which is based on the Prime Universe and this Sonic and Mina come from another universe along with a parallel one which is the prime version of their multiverse," Maria said with Anti Eggman being confused.
"What do you mean by theirs?" he asked as Anti-Maria looked disappointed.
"Some genius you are cousin. There are two multiverses. We have ours and they have theirs," Maria said.
"Impossible," Anti Eggman said as Maria sighs from this.
"Think of each Multiverse like a tree with the prime universe being the roots to let the tree get its essence. There is an endless forest filled with different multiverses that span into infinity within their trees like universes, dimensions, and timelines as such. Once I gain the power, I will be able to uproot a tree like this," Anti Maria said as Dr. Kintobor cringed from this.
"Are you insane?" Anti-Eggman questioned this as Maria let out a cute laugh.
"The Phantom Ruby along with another power will allow me to do this. The Phantom Ruby allows one to use it to control time and space at a macro level. Able to create dimensions as big as entire universes. Creating powerful illusions is so powerful as they are real to your eyes and senses. Screw the Chaos Emeralds or Master Emerald, I have something even better than them all," she said looking at the screen to see the Phantom Ruby getting ready for her to implant into her chest allowing her to become one with it.
"What did Project Phoenix do to you?" Anti-Eggman demanded his grandfather's efforts to make a monster.
"Oh, it did wonders for me. My NIDS is gone and it's not holding me back anymore," Maria tortures her cousin once again laughing at all the pained looks he is making.
Elsewhere Mina and Sonic go into another room to see various experiments being done inside. "How do you like it, I have been very busy with conducting experiments. Keeps me from being bored," Anti Maria said as the two were horrified to see Mobians being turned into weird misshapen mutants.
"What have you done to them?" Mina demanded.
"Just simple adjustments. Too bad, they didn't make it. If you want to, you can put them out of their misery, I do not need them anymore," Anti Maria said in a heartless tone as these mutant Mobians broke out of their tubes yelling in pain from their mutations.
"Damn it, this is cruel," Sonic said as they rush at them with them defending themselves to use her powerful attacks to deal with them swiftly. Tearing up their bodies and scattering them onto the floor.
"The best we can do is to put them down. So they don't have to feel any more pain," Mina summons a black hole to kill off the rest via strong gravity tides which reduce them to bloody pieces of flesh and blood.
"Your powers are interesting. The Mina Mongoose uses Hyper Go On energy made from the Wisp which is on par with the energies of the Chaos Emeralds. Sonic you can wield powerful Magics from Chaos energy from your body. Both of you have gotten powerful mutations," Maria said.
"And so what?" Sonic asked.
"Well, I have been scanning you since you got here. These mutations have enhanced your body allowing you to become far stronger than any normal Mobian. Even your lifespan has surpassed it in leaps and bounds. It can last for several hundred years, even more than that at this rate. Pretty similar to what Project Phoenix was trying to do. Speaking of which, there is another terminal nearby with my Grandfather's audio diary. Enjoy," she said as the screen turned on to hear the doctor's voice.
"This is promising. I will use the prototypes of the Biolizard and Shadow to be able to cure Maria of her illness. The Biolizard was able to use Chaos Energy and be immortal but the overflowing energy is making it deeply unstable. Forcing me to lock it away within the Ark's storage unit," Gerald presses on.
"Shadow is a better prototype. I made him use my Chaos Drives and made him able to gain immortality and use Chaos energy very well. Sadly when he pushes himself, he overexerts himself and leaves him tried out. He was going to be my ultimate weapon against my enemy but my change of heart let him become Maria's ultimate guardian," Gerald keeps going.
"Shadow is well-mannered and loyal to Maria despite her finding him annoying. I have a comforting mind to know Shadow will keep her safe. Now I need to fix the problems with Shadow to Maria. I need a bonding agent to keep the energy stable to maintain traits like the Biolizard and Shadow without issues. Shadow needed Inhibitor rings to keep his energy from overflowing, this needs to change," Gerald said to keep talking.
"I have found a powerful creature within another dimension called Ifrit who will be useful in allowing Maria to keep all the benefits without the drawbacks. It's very promising and soon I will be able to make Maria something even more. Able to become extraordinary, Professor Gerald's Robotnik audio diary entry two completed," he ended his audio diary.
"Ifrit. No black arms?" Sonic asked.
"Nope, no alien DNA was made in my treatment. This powerful being Ifrit was from a dimension itself and was able to destroy with its raw power. He used Chaos energy to bend this being into my body and it allowed me to become something more," Maria said to see a golden white flame appear above her palm.
"How do you know so much about our world?" Mina asked.
"I do my research like a proper genius does," Maria said in a cute tone with an evil edge to it. "I have big plans for your Multiverse," Maria said as she looked at two items the Phantom Ruby and a powerful staff.
"Our Multiverse, what are you talking about?" Sonic asked as Maria sighs, which is bouncing off the walls.
"It's a Multiverse is like a tree and your dimension and Blaze's are the roots of that tree. We are in an endless forest filled with these Multiverse trees. You managed to slip from your Multiverse to my Multiverse via a Warp Ring Scourge used," she said.
"We need to deal with this messed up world and kick his ass too," Sonic said as he has complete faith in his friends and allies to deal with him until they arrive back.
"He got his plans but whatever he is doing is going to weaken your world," Maria said with a cruel laugh. "Which helps me as well," Anti Maria said as Sonic and Mina sped into another huge room.
"Can't be serious," Sonic said to see someone familiar standing in the middle of the warehouse section.
"Oh you finally meet Shadow or now Cyber Shadow. I used the nanites of the Metal Virus to turn him into a perfect weapon like grandfather intended him to be," Maria said as the couple looked on in horror to see this version of Shadow become Maria's slave.
"Why would you do this?" Mina asked as Anti Maria laughed at them which was coming from Shadow's mouth with her taking control of his body using her Magitek.
"Why not, he was so loyal to me to the bitter end. Allowing me to turn him into this machine that I can use for my ends. Shadow, be a dear and kill them all," Maria said.
"As you wish, prepare yourselves," Cyber Shadow gets into a combat stance to use Chaos Snap to get behind Mina to kick her across the face to send her through a wall.
"Mina, time to put you in your place Shads," Sonic said as he leashed out fireballs with Cyber Shadow dodging his spells to get close. He delivers a kick with Sonic blocking it while using his own to see Shadow evading it. Both Hedgehogs were engaging in close combat unleashing powerful blows to connect causing big shockwaves that rock the entire mountain region.
"Chaos Spear," Cyber Shadow tosses his energy attack at Mystic Sonic.
"Wind Deflection," Sonic timed his defense spell to bounce the attack back to slam into Shadow causing him pain.
"Not bad," Shadow didn't see that coming.
"Yeah, since you are a machine. I don't need to hold back to smash you to pieces. To free you from her control. Aqua Laser," Mystic Sonic conjures a powerful beam of water to slam into Cyber Shadow to knock him across the room.
He gets back in to teleport in to shove an energy orb into his chest to knock him away but Mina comes in to use Hover to lift him to get hit with several gravity-infused kicks delivering crushing strikes.
"Crush," she tosses Plasma Orbs while summoning several clones to speed towards the cybernetic hedgehog. Shadow is dodging strikes but the clones gang up on him to kick and blast him with lightning bolts. Three clones kick Shadow up into the air while Mina flies up and delivers a powerful kick to knock him into a set of crates.
"Mina?" Sonic asked to see if she looked fine.
"Cheap shot, let's do this together," Mina said as they both powered up in their empowered states to fly towards them.
Shadow creates a dome of energy to ward them off while trying to press on them via blows but they can deflect and block his strikes. Sonic and Mina are against Cyber Shadow Sonic summons a twister to engulf him while Mina burns the twister to superheat it causing terrible damage.
"Chaos Blast," he explodes to wipe out the superheated tornado to warp away. "Chaos Burst," she reappears to be nearby Sonic to summon a dome of energy knocking Sonic away.
Mina summons a pillar of stone to slam under Shadow and then lets it explode knocking him towards her. She delivers a strong kick to damage him. "Flame Boost," she enters into a fiery boost to smash into Shadow like a bullet to slam into a wall.
Mina is rapidly kicking Shadow into his chest deepening the dent he was in. She gathers an orb of flames in her palm to smash into his head tearing through the wall and leaving a big hole behind.
"What are you doing? Draw deeper Shadow for me," Maria said within his mind.
"Of course," he turns off his inhibitor ring to gain 25 percent of his power to trigger his Chaos Boost engulfed in a red aura. "Let's go," Shadow said to speed toward the duo.
"We will turn up the heat too," Sonic said as he held onto the Anarchy Beryl.
"Chaos Control," Shadow and Sonic said to freeze time around them to begin fighting close combat while Mina made a gravity field around her allowing her to negate the time-space of Chaos Control to move towards the others.
Shadow looks surprised to get hit in the face by Mina's kick with her transforming into a mini black hole to gather Shadow making him unable to move. "Flame Lance," Sonic cast down a burning lance from the air to strike Shadow's location unleashing a powerful surge of heat damaging him.
Mina launches her clones to explode on impact while tossing orbs of gravity to try to pin him down. Shadow warps away trying to hit Mina but she leashes with her lightning blade to slice his arm off.
"That will not work twice," Mina said as she wielded two blades of lightning trying to cut him to pieces.
"How about this," Shadow takes off another inhibitor ring to be at 50 percent to unleash a shockwave to knock Mina away. He uses a Spin Dash to slam into Mina to send her across the floor. She regains her balance to plant her boots onto the floor with Sonic coming in to use his own Spin Dash to clash.
Both Hedgehogs use their Spin Dashes trying to overpower each other but Sonic can keep up with Cyber Shadow even with his power unlocked at 50 percent. "I know for damn sure, in this state, you will burn out soon enough," Sonic said with them both in a grapple not wanting to break off from contact.
"If it's for Maria, then so be it," Shadow said sadly with Sonic feeling pity but will not hold back in the fight.
Mina uses a color combo of Lightning Quake to make magnetic fields to lift metal crates to toss them at high speeds to slam into Shadow while following up with another combo of Drill Laser to go beyond light speed in her Drill form to pierce into Shadow's chest to launch him across the room.
"That was a new one," Sonic said as Mina had a sheepish grin.
"I was working on that one. Thankfully it works," she said as Cyber Shadow is exploding with energy to get rid of his third inhibitor ring.
"Shadow, go all in. Wipe them out," she urges him as she knows this will get him killed but she doesn't care. All she wants is a good show for her experiments with Cyber Shadow to go through.
Mina uses her Magnetic powers on Cyber Shadow to lift him into the air but he warps out of her grip. He appears to use Chaos Burst to send them away via energy wave.
"Two can play that game, Sonic Wind," Sonic swings his hand to release an energy crescent. Shadow dodges it with the crescent slicing a huge shipping container in half. "Arrow of Light," Sonic uses chaos energy to power up his Boost to go beyond the speed of light to catch Cyber Shadow off guard with a mighty slam cracking his tough metal skin.
"Seems like he is reaching his limit," Sonic said as Cyber Shadow's body ripped itself apart from all the power leaking out of him.
"I can't lose. Full power," Cyber Shadow takes off the last inhibitor ring to go at full power with his Chaos Boost flaring up shaking the region with his power.
"Mina," Sonic said as Mina nods her head.
"Chaos Blast," Shadow readies his attack while Mina uses her Drill form to go underground while Sonic puts up a barrier to prepare for the attack. Shadow unleashes a giant red energy wave to slam into Sonic to send him flying with the barrier taking most of the damage to disappear.
Mina gets out of the ground to uppercut Shadow on the chin. "Eat this, Frenzy," Mina's rainbow aura flares up with her powers going off the charts. "Rip and tear Shadow," Mina with unnerving speed is blitzing Cyber Shadow using her powerful kicks to weaken him while following up with a Super Peel Out to build up crazy speed to launch herself in her Drill form while using her Frenzy state to pierce through Cyber Shadow's chest to grab another Beryl stored within his chest.
"Another one," she said tossing it at Sonic to add two to his person. Shadow exits out of his Chaos Boost state burning himself out and being vulnerable to attack. Sonic prepares to finish off Cyber Shadow to free him from his enslavement to this evil woman.
"Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog, Aqua Laser," he is empowered by two Beryls fires a huge water beam to speed towards the wounded Shadow to crush his body until there is nothing left.
Maria looks on with disappointment. "What a shame, that was for nothing," Anti Maria said as she showed total apathy towards Shadow's fate.
"Despite the fight, he wanted to please you and you threw him away so causally," Mina said getting upset.
"Doesn't matter, he is a failed experiment. They go in the trash where they belong," Maria said.
"Hey, how about you come and face us yourself? Missy," Sonic said.
"Acting all tough and superior, how about you face us yourself," Mina said as they dealt with Cyber Lizard and Cyber Shadow. Two beings enslaved by this wicked woman.
"Okay, I will gladly show you how deep the gap truly is between us," Maria said as Maria came out of the door to reveal herself.
"Wow, she is a pretty short human," Mina said as Anti Maria is a very pretty human lady donning a graceful yet simple blue short dress showing her shapely figure, her white hooded cloak that goes above her lower back and her brown boots showing off her nicely shaped legs.
She has a lovely heart-shaped face with striking blue eyes, a cute little nose, and beautiful golden hair that goes past her shoulders. She looks like an angel despite hiding this angelic appearance with her dark rotting heart and twisted mind.
"Yeah, reminds me of a certain small angry bald man," Sonic said slyly. Maria hears this but she still has a playful smile on her face.
"Well, I am here. Time to play," she said as she had six bird wings come out of her back. Her body is emitting a golden-white flame aura around her.
"What in the world?" both of them said as they felt an intense pressure from her making them very uneasy despite their being in their powered-up forms.
"So I have come to you. Well, I should properly introduce myself. My name is Maria Robotnik, aged 75, and Blood type AB-. Better known as the Ultimate Lifeform," she said in a cute gentle voice which put a sense of dire dread into Sonic and Mina to face someone who was the most powerful being they had ever faced.
