Chapter 84: Oil Ocean
Mina is in her bed with her husband, feeling comfortable in his arms. She buries her face in his chest, feeling his soft fur, and takes comfort in his scent, which puts her at ease and makes her feel safe. "No more Ash, just my dream guy being my husband. Living another adventure in another reality," she thinks as she gets her smartphone to see Belle calling her.
"Morning Mina, I managed to find a new Anarchy Beryl we can collect. We are so close now," Belle said as Mina sat on the bed.
"We are getting close to getting home now. Where is this Anarchy Beryl now?" she asked.
"It's in a place called the Oil Ocean. It's on a huge oil factory on the coast of Downunda," Belle said, as Mina was disgusted.
"Goodness, digging up oil. That would ruin the ocean," Mina said as within her world oil and other fossil fuels were abandoned via clean energy made from Power Rings and Chaos Drives using chaos energy to power up girds leaving no damage to the environment of Mobius keeping things.
"I know right, it's disgusting. They have the Anarchy Beryl but it's never enough for these people. Miles and Smalls are killing this planet to boost their positions. The oil rig is powered by the gemstone. Grab it and smash his operations. Warning one of his hands Honey will be guarding it," Belle said.
'We will be there," Mina said as she got up with spread out her limbs to only be in her purple nightgown. "Baby, rise in shine," she said to pull out the sheets to see he was still asleep.
"Give me five minutes babe," he groaned as Mina kissed him on the cheek to head into the shower to quickly wash herself to come out to put on her black tank top, brown short shorts, green gloves, and green boots.
"I hope these don't get ruined. I keep buying extra pairs," Mina puts her long purple hair in a high ponytail to go into the kitchen to prepare their breakfast.
"Yo," Bunnie said at the door to see her and Silver coming up to greet her.
"Oh Good Morning," Bunnie said to hug Mina.
"Hello there," Mina said.
"Well we got a mission to grab the Anarchy Beryl from Miles' oil rig but it's going to be heavily guarded by his Swat bots and other robotic forces,"
"No problem, no bucketheads are going to get us," Sonic feeling cocky about this.
"I heard from Belle. Honey and Mecha Sally will be there," Bunnie said as she sounded bitter thinking about her old ally.
"Mecha Sally, she is here too," Mina said.
"Is she crazy like in our world?" Sonic asked.
"Well she was the princess of the old King Max who was the despot who controlled the world before we took him down and brought it under control until things fell apart," Bunnie said.
"Well let's get some to eat and head for the oil rig," Mina said as everyone got breakfast before heading on their mission to take the 12th gemstone.
Elsewhere Anti Nicole looks over the data she has secured from Honey to be disturbed by what she found. "What is this?" Nicole asked as she learned the history of Humanity in the ancient past to be disturbed by what she knew.
"Unbelievable, why would he hide this from me," Nicole said as she felt someone was talking with her within her mind.
"Because he is afraid that you would know and you will reach certain conclusions," Anti-Maria said within Anti-Nicole's very code.
"How are you talking to me?" she asked.
"Magitek, I can use my magic to speak with you directly without that pitiful fox not knowing my presence," Maria said as Nicole was suspicious of her.
"I should tell him you are secretly speaking with me," Nicole said as Maria knows she doesn't mean it.
"Yet you didn't. I know you are curious about the old world and why did it fail. Because the world is following the same path of self-destruction led by foolish leaders," Anti Maria said.
"Self-destruction of their world," Nicole said as Maria planted the seeds which will lead to interesting results.
"You will know in time. Observe, that you are a smart AI. You will figure it out, Sayonara," Maria's mental link disappears with Nicole looking over the Metal Virus seeing if she can use it to control people allowing her to make things more peaceful in this broken world.
Elsewhere Miles looks over someone who is giving him intel about someone deeply interested. "Sir, I have detected Psychic energy from one of Smalls' hideouts in Efirka," Nicole said.
"Good, send in a battle group to secure the target," Miles said as Nicole sent in a flying fortress. With enough robots to capture his new prize. "This amount of psychic energy would be great for my experiments," Miles is getting excited with an evil grin. Nicole looks on with concern to push with her research on the Metal Virus.
Back with Sonic, Bunnie, Mina, and Silver were within the stealth ship to fly through the sky to be above the ocean. Sonic is in the pilot seat with Mina in the Co-pilot seat with the others in the back. Mina is dwelling within her mind to think about the past with her and Ash to see the breaking point in their relationship.
"What are you thinking about babe?" Sonic asked.
"Oh the past again, I hope we don't see another version of Ash here. I loathe him but I was too weak to say it in the past until I can't take it anymore," Mina said as she recalls the day she abandoned him for good to push forward.
-Flashback Begins-
When Mina was 15 years old, she was happy to be older but now her maturing has given her a new lease on things. "Ash, I wanted someone to be close to but you are not like Sonic at all," she thought as she was backstage for her new concert which was completed but Ash demanded more shows which she had enough.
"Yo babe, I need you to come with me. We are going to press a show in a few hours," Ash said as Mina did not like this.
"We are just finished with this one. I need a break," Mina gathering the courage to stand for her wellbeing.
"What do you mean, do you want to keep pushing forward to be the best icon there is? You need to follow my aid if you want to be the best," Ash said as he grabbed her arm to hold it tightly enough to hurt her.
"Enough," Mina breaks away from his grip not willing to tolerate his harsh behavior anymore. "I have done all you ask but you keep pushing me. You are less of a boyfriend and more of a demanding boss trying to milk me for all I am worth," Mina said.
"Quit your complaining," Ash is going to flick her nose but she slaps it away.
"I am not complaining, I want to be an idol but not with all this demand from your connections to try to change me or my music," Mina said.
"Come on babe, your music is a bit retro. You need to keep up with the times," Ash said.
"I am not changing my messaging or my style. It's who I am and it comes from my time as a little girl.
"Well sorry for trying to put you on top of things. Besides the current trends don't want your outdated style," Ash said.
"I bet Sonic would like it," she said throwing this at his face to see he was getting angry about her mentioning Sonic who is her ideal guy which he can never be like.
"Not good enough. Town-level nonsense is not going to make you big or do you want to be a loser and slave away at your tofu shop," Ash said as this stuck a huge nerve.
"Oh no, you piece of crap. Working at my family's shop is never a loser move. It's a place that has been in my family for generations," Mina said defending her family business.
"You will be there for generations more if you don't think bigger," Ash said being very cold and not caring about her family's legacy or the weight of it.
"That's it, we are through. It was a mistake to go out with you. I thought you could be my partner but I feel like a slave with you. A means to make you money and clout in the industry, Trying to push me on Breezie is beyond insulting," Mina said as Ash looked at her with a deadly stare.
"Watch your mouth. One wrong move and my connections will be wiped. Then you will never become an idol of any note. You will be a no one working at your dirt poor Tofu shop," Ash shows more open disrespect for her family's shop.
"That is all I needed for this choice to be a good one. Goodbye Ash," she uses her speed to exit out of there to not want to see him again. Mina is on a bench crying her eyes out while talking with her mother on the phone.
"Baby girl, what's wrong?" she asked.
"I broke up with Ash, I am done with him," Mina said wiping away the tears from her big green eyes.
"You made the right choice my dear. He pushes you too hard. I am proud of you," Isabella said.
"I am back to square one, without his connections I can't book more high-end gigs for my performances," Mina said.
"Don't worry, you got time. Pick yourself back," Isabella said.
"He is nothing like Sonic. He was always jealous when I talk about him," Mina said as Ash always gets into a fit of deep anger when Mina speaks highly of her crush on the Blue Blur.
"Well, he is not the one," Isabella said as she was secretly happy he was gone now.
"He also said working in our Tofu shop was for losers," Mina said as Isabella was hiding her anger that Ash said this.
"Oh my, what a rude piece of work. I am glad I raised you right to see through his nonsense," Isabella said feeling proud of her choice.
"Of course mama, all thanks to you," Mina said.
"Come back home, I will take care of you until your next time," Isabella said.
"Well after that, I would head for Station Square to see if I could find something," Mina said.
"I heard Dr Eggman was sighted around that. Be careful my dear," Isabella said.
"Of course, I got my speed. So I can just run away if he shows up. Catch you later," she said cutting off the line to speed off but she tripped up again. "Shoot, I need someone to train me. Sonic would be perfect for the job," she swoons over him wanting to move on and push further even if her first relationship ended in deep failure and making her feel bad deep down.
-Flashback Ends-
"Ash, always a selfish jerkoff," Sonic said as Mina recalls old times.
"Yes, but I don't need to think about it as much anymore. I got the man of my dreams and Ash is dead. We can keep going forward," she said as they approached the Oil Rig which is quite massive standing in the middle of the ocean with the crystal blue replaced with sticky dark oil ruining the atmosphere.
"Disgusting," Silver said as Bunnie nods her head.
"Miles work alright," Bunnie said as she unlocked the hatches to use her rocket feet to fly outside to use her arm blaster to destroy flying drones.
"We will draw their forces away while you two grab the Anarchy Beryl," Silver flies outside to aid Bunnie fight off the large defense forces.
"Setting autopilot, keep it far distance away while we raid the rig," Mina said as the couple jumped off the plane to be on the rig with the waves covered with sticky oil. "More of this world being ruined," she said.
"Well let's at least get rid of this eyesore," Sonic said as the two speedsters sped toward the energy signal.
Anti-Honey and Mecha Sally noticed the Rig being attacked. "Shit, time to wipe out the attackers. Honey go protect the gemstone," Sally said to fly towards Silver and Bunnie.
"Of course," Honey flies towards the location of the Anarchy Beryl to protect it. Mecha Sally encounters her old comrade to uses a flying kick to send Buns into a support pillar of the rig.
"Well good to see you Buns, still trying to play the hero," Mecha Sally said as she opened her palms to unleash beams of energy but Silver used his psychokinesis to redirect the attacks back at Mecha Sally to knock her away.
"Buns, you okay?' Silver asked.
"Yep, I am fine. I am not happy to see you, Sally. Now you are a slave to Miles," Buns said as she evaded from her energy blasts and energy sickles.
"I am only fulfilling my role. Nothing more, you know who the real power within the group was," Sally said as she leashes out with missiles trying to hit them both. Both were flying away from the barrage with them putting their energy barriers to block it.
Mecha Sally flies in and kicks Silver into the oil-infused water to fire an orb of flames to set the sea ablaze.
"Silver," Buns said as she blocked incoming arm blades from her old ally while grabbing her metal arms to toss her on the side of the oil rig.
"I am not playing hero, I want to do this," Buns said turning her metal arm into an energy blade to fly toward Mecha Sally to block her arm blades. The two women were engaging in a short swift sword duel but Silver came out of the oil-filled water to be covered in an energy barrier to bend the oil-filled water to encase Mecha Sally into an orb.
"Burn her," Silver implodes the orb while Bunnie uses a flamethrower to burn the oil orb to let it fiercely burn away Sally but she manages to use an energy barrier to block this. Sliver uses a Psycho Slice to release an energy sickle to slice into the barrier to crack it open. Buns soars at the damaged barrier to punch it open and decks Sally in the face to crash into a pillar nearby.
"Damn it," Mecha Sally said to engage the two with Sonic and Mina using their boost attacks to smash through any robotic foes in their way. Mina throws a mini gravity well to crush any robot within the affected area. She follows up with fireballs to wipe them out.
Sonic uses his Homing Attack to chain up several enemies to take them down with him seeing an Assault Walker to evade its gunfire. He jumps above it and uses his Bounce attack to crush the machine with ease.
"Don't come any closer you two," Honey flung fireballs with her in her empowered state covered in bright fire flames on her body.
"One of the coward's little playthings," Mina said as she was not impressed with her Burst Wisp powers. She sees several fireballs which she powers up to use her own Burst to negate her fire attacks.
"Silent, I am here to protect his interest here. I am going to take great pleasure in wiping you out Mina," Honey said for she has spite that Anti Mina is Miles' favorite in terms of looks but raw power as well.
"Pretty clear you are outmatched here. Leave now before it gets too rough for you," Mina said as she powered up into her Rainbow State.
"I will kill you and then I will kill my Mina to be Miles' new favorite. Prepare to die," Anti Honey flies in to tackle Mina to knock her into a pillar to summon a twister of flames trapping her inside. Rainbow Mina uses her power to cancel out the twister.
"Sonic, grab the Anarchy Beryl. I got this," Mina powers up to slam Anti Honey into a pillar above the oil-filled ocean with Sonic speeding off to blast through hordes of robots. Swat bots were unable to stop him with his Boost smashing through them with ease.
Mina is dodging and weaving through Honey's attacks while shrugging off her fireballs. Mina uses her new magnetic powers to rip off chunks of metal to fling them at Honey to hit her several times.
"How are you able to do this?" Honey questioned spitting blood into the oil.
"I train and perfect my technique but you like Anti Cream are slopping," Mina pulls away Honey's fireballs to fling them back to slam into her.
"Damn it," Honey is trying but Mina is overpowering her unable to do any real damage. "She is so strong," Anti Honey said to keep going with the fight.
Sonic speeds towards the generator to grab their 12th Anarchy Beryl to see his wife taking down Anti Honey pretty badly. He goes to give his wife a hand to use a Light Speed Attack to strike Anti Honey in the back to knock her into a pillar.
"Time to bury this place along with you," Mina begins to use her Plasma powers to unleash big orbs of energy which is ripping up the Oil Rig's support beams making it sink into the ocean. She tosses plasma orbs to trigger a huge explosion from the oil leaving no trace behind along with Anti Honey getting vaporized in the blast.
"No!" Mecha Sally shouted as Buns kicked her across the air with Silver grabbing her with his psycho grip to launch her far away to send her back into the mainland.
"Well mission complete," Silver said as Sonic was holding the gemstone with them having 12 Anarchy Beryl now.
"Yep, time to go home," Sonic said as Mina looked down at the ruins of the oil rig to see Anti Honey was no more to leave two Hands left.
Elsewhere Mecha Sally is contacting Miles because he is not pleased with the destruction of his oil rig. "Should have done your job Sally," Miles said on the radio.
"Honey was killed by their Mina. She is stupidly strong, much stronger than your favorite," Sally said as Miles showed no concern for the death of one of his Hands/harem.
"Useless, so useless. Mina will be able to handle her," Miles said as Sally thinks he is full of shit.
"As if, her gravity powers are nothing compared to this Mina. You only have Zoey and Mina. I doubt they will make a difference," Sally said to cut it off for his Hands were nothing more than empowered whores. "They are dolls against a real foe like that mongoose. Buns, playing the hero. Maybe Miles is wrong for once," she felt her determination to change herself unless she was content with her fate.
