Chapter 13
Chen readied himself for combat against the newly revealed Shirai Ryu assassin. He couldn't deduce this woman's identity behind her mask but remained cautious. Women in the Shirai Ryu were trained just as deadly as the men.
"Yarggh!" Black Scorpion yelled striking first with a front dropkick striking true
Chen's back hit a nearby crate. He quickly ducked a punch and hit a palm strike to her gut and a punch to her chin. Black Scorpion answered with a spinning heel kick; Chen hit two forward double punches. Chen pressed the attack, but Black Scorpion countered with a dragon claw and an elbow strike, sending the Lin Kuei back.
"My husband, my son. My clan, all dead! You will suffer as they have!" growled Black Scorpion her voice taking on a demonic edge
"The Lin Kuei were not responsible for the deaths of your family and clan," argued Chen
"You lie! I will tear you apart!"
Before the two could resume, they were suddenly fired upon from above the rafters. Their commotion had alerted the headquarters to their presence, the alarms rang and security quickly descended upon the pair.
"Halt!" the security guard yelled
"This is none of your concern! Begone pests!" yelled the female assassin
"FIRE!"
RATTAATTA
Chen and Black Scorpion ducked for cover, but she suddenly vanished in a snap of smoke and flare. Then she reappeared on the catwalk above
"Die for your interference!" she yelled unsheathing her blades

Within a minute the squad of armed guards were dead.
"Incredible!" Chen remarked getting back to his feet.
The Shirai Ryu turned her attention back to her enemy, Chen glanced at the detonator and made a risky decision.

Several explosions rocked the cage, knocking Black Scorpion off balance. Chen used the opportunity to escape, in the fiery chaos.
"You will not escape!" she exclaimed vanishing in a flare
Meanwhile, Ming had found a computer terminal and started downloading intel.
"Download commencing," Ming reported
BOOM BOOM RUMBLE RUMBLE
The complex shook violently, and the alarms sounded, meaning Chen had triggered the explosives.
"I'm going to need to speed this up." she mused typing away increasing the progress.
After a few moments it was done, Ming quickly took out the flash drive and departed the room, only to run into the same glassing-wearing girl as before.
"Well, what do we have here, I take it you have something to do with this chaos?" she asked getting no response
Ming remained silent, but steeled herself, balling her fist
"If you know what's good for you, you'll-"
PUNCH
The girl received a punch to the mouth for her trouble, knocking her to the ground
"Big mouth, " Ming scoffed taking off down the hallway
"This is Chen I'm headed to the extraction point," he reported
("I didn't expect you to set the explosives off too soon," Jade said in his comm
"I had no choice, I had an... unexpected encounter," Chen replied
("Oh, what happened?")
"I'll explain back on the ship. Where is Ming?"
("On my way back!") Ming reported chiming in
"I'll see you there," Chen said ending the communication
Chen ran into some guards but dispatched them quickly and continued. Sure enough, he reached the boiler room climbed up its vent, and returned to the roof. There the cargo plane awaited with Jade and Ming already climbing on board, Chen rushed over until...
SNIK!
Gharg!"
A sharp blade was embedded in the back of his shoulder, glancing back he saw, Black Scorpion again appearing in a flash, with a kunai on a rope more specifically her kunai attached to the rope
"Get over here!" She yelled in a demonic tone forcefully pulling him to her
"Urgh." he grunted hitting the steel roof
"You will die for what you've done!"
Chen pulled the kunai from his shoulder and unsheathed his sword. Black Scorpion retracted her kunai and stood ready to fight.
(Fight!)
Black Scorpion unsheathed her gauntlet blades and clashed with his wakizashi. Chen quickly broke the deadlock, hitting a front kick on the woman. Black Scorpion struck back, with an axe kick then a knife hand.
Chen answered back with a straight Superman-esq punch with his right hand, stumbling his opponent back and pressing the attack with a sword strike which Black Scorpion blocked with her blades. She increased the ferocity of her blade strikes, breaking through Chen's guard and hitting a headbutt, then a drill kick. Chen shook it off, he channeled energy into his hand and slammed it into the roof creating a shockwave
"Yah!" he yelled
"Argh! she grunted being blown back.
The assassin growled, unsheathed her kunai, and shot it at Chen, who jumped to avoid it and rushed towards Black Scorpion. But that action was interrupted when the cargo flew in between the pair.
"Get on!" Jade yelled from the cargo door
Chen grunted and nodded, immediately jumping on the plane, and it took off into the night sky. Black Scorpion glared at the Lin Kuei ninja's cowardly retreat.
"Your end is coming Lin Kuei scum! " She growled before vanishing in flame
On the plane, Chen grabbed his shoulder grunting in pain, his shoulder was bleeding profusely. Noticing this Jade took the medical kit from the panel nearby.
"Are you alright Master Chen?" asked Ming Na removing her mask and helmet
"I'm fine, I'm fine." he breathed
"You are not!" Jade hissed "Remove your top,"
Chen did so without a fuss while thinking about the Shirai Ryu assassin. Now it was all making sense. She caused the mysterious deaths of many Lin Kuei, Black Scorpion, the only remaining Shirai Ryu ninja from the massacre that she believed they had caused.
After five years of searching for the truth, nothing has come up, not one single clue as to who or what perpetrated the attack and why they were framed.
"Who was that?" asked Ming
"The last Shirai Ryu." the man answered
"Shirai Ryu? But weren't they all wiped out? "Asked Jade applying rubbing alcohol to his wound.
"Not by my clan, master Vrbada and I have been searching endlessly for the real culprits. He had a peace pact with their Grandmaster Takahashi Satoshi
"Takahashi Satoshi, I know of him only by reputation." Jade inputted
"Yes, it's said he was a descendant of one of the founding members of the Shirai Ryu, he even taught Liu Kang and Master Vrbada."
"So, what now?" asked Ming
"Now, I must return to my village to inform my master," Chen replied
"Agreed, in the meantime I must check on my newly acquired charge upon our return home," Jade said wrapping Chen's wound
"New charge mother? Oh, you mean..."

Rei Ayanami the first child, was being driven by Captain Katsuragi and Dr. Akagi riding in the passenger side, to her new residency in Ayoma. Ayoma is one of the wealthiest places in Japan, serving as the current home of Edenia Shinji the estranged son of the commander and pilot of Unit 01. Everything had happened so fast, first, she was taken out of NERV's hospital to a fancy medical facility owned by a big company. There she had gotten better treatment, than she would have in a regular hospital she was next to almost fully recovered, if the brace on her arm was any indication.
Next, Rei was told the commander had practically given her to Shinji Edenia. She wasn't under his custody anymore; now, she was in the care of someone else, someone Rei had not yet met. And the boy, the commander's son who piloted on her behalf—who was he, and what was he like?
"Nervous Rei?" asked Misato from her seat
"Why would I be nervous Captain?" the girl asked
"You're moving up in the world. You're shacking up with a rich kid. Rubbing elbows with the rich and powerful, it's alright to be nervous." Misato replied mirthfully
"Rubbing elbows?"
"What the captain means is; that you may get a chance to be around very important influential people. If Edenia has the right connections, it could benefit NERV considerably in the future," Ritsuko explained
"I see,"
"I dated a couple of rich guys in college, they're all alike, arrogant and prickly to the core." Misato sneered
"Before or after your many break-ups with Kaji?"
"Shut your face!" Misato snapped swerving purposely
SCREECH!
"Whoa! Misato!"
"We are never to discuss him again, Ritsuko."
Rei had never seen this side of Japan; it has been said that Ayoma was one of the first places affected by Second Impact and rebuilt faster than the other regions.
After about fifteen minutes of driving, the trio made it to their destination. They marveled at the size of the tall apartment complex, and Rei stepped out of the car almost hesitantly, looking up at the tall building, feeling her heart race.
"Rei come on." Misato ushered walking to the entrance.
Upon entering, the lobby seemed more like a posh hotel than an apartment lobby.
"Excuse me," Ritsuko spoke getting the clerk's attention
"How can I help you?" he asked
"We're here to see Shinji Edenia." the fake blonde said
"One moment please."
The clerk picked up the phone and called upstairs, and after a moment he nodded.
"Ayanami Rei?" he asked
"Yes," Rei replied
"You're expected, please take the elevator. It'll take you to Mr. Edenia's residence."
"Thank you," she praised bowing
The trio walked inside and went up. After a few moments, the doors opened to a large, lavish room.
"Wow!" both Misato and Ritsuko gasped
"Fascinating," Rei whispered
A tan-skinned woman wearing a Chinese maid outfit stepped into the foyer before the trio
"Welcome, Miss Rei Ayanami. My name is Laufeia Ashla." She introduced herself, bowing respectfully. "My master Shinji Edenia sends his greetings."
"I am pleased to make your acquaintance Ms. Ashla." the first child replied bowing respectfully
Laufeia turned to Rei's two companions one who bowed and the other saluted.
"My name is Captain Misato Katsuragi, director of operations for NERV," Misato introduced professionally
"And I'm Doctor Ritsuko Akagi; I'm head of NERV's science division and head of the Eva projects." Ritsuko introduced
"I bid you welcome Captain Katsuragi and Dr. Akagi." Laufeia greeted "Please come in."
"This place is just...wow!" Misato gasped
"You've traded up Rei. I'm ashamed to say I'm jealous." Ritsuko took in the lavish interior it was almost akin to a palace
"This is merely one of the Edenia family's summer homes located in Japan" Laufeia explained
"A summer apartment?! Seriously?"
"Yes if you'll follow me, young Miss Ayanami, I will show you to your room."
"Alright."
"So, Ms. Ashla where is Mr. Edenia at this moment?" Ritsuko asked following closely
"He is currently away visiting a family acquaintance Dr Akagi. He will be home soon."
"Man, my entire apartment could fit into this one room, maybe I should move in here too." Misato half-joked walking through the living room
"Only if you can convince Miss Edenia, Captain." the maid replied
"I can be pretty convincing."
Ritsuko looked annoyed at her friend but continued marveling at the expensive porcelain furniture. Laufeia led the trio through the living room to a set of stairs. Rei saw the view below from the windows but kept following the maid.
Sure enough, they reached the rooms. Opening the door, the first child was treated to a posh hotel-like room with a sterling view of the city. Her queen-sized bed was complete with an ocean-blue spread. A medium-sized bookshelf was on the wall, and a flat-screen TV was mounted. Her bathroom was next to a walk-in closet.
"We hope these accommodations are to your liking Miss Ayanami."
"Uh. Thank you," she replied in awe
"So just out of curiosity where is Shinji's room located?" Misato inquired
"A few floors above us," Laufeia answered
"Nice view," Ritsuko remarked looking out the window
Rei looked inside her closet and marveled at the neat assortment of folded clothes shoes, dresses, and traditional kimonos.
"You may change if you like Miss Ayanami. Mr Edenia would like you to be more presentable upon his return." the maid said
"Very well." Rei said walking inside the closet
"So much to choose from," Rei murmured looking at the vast array of clothing
Rei had an indecisive look on her normally stoic face, deciding to help the girl Laufeia selected a blue dress from the right. It was a casual blue summer short dress.
"Might I suggest this?" suggested Laufeia holding up the dress
"Oh yes, that one will suffice. Thank you, Miss Ashla."
"I will be waiting in the common room along with your companions, " the maid replied, leaving the girl alone.
Rei held up the dress to herself in front of the full-length mirror. Placing the dress to the side Rei proceeded to strip off her school uniform, carefully of the brace on her arm.
Fortunately for Rei, her other injuries have already healed, thanks in part to the medical staff at the Harumi Medical Center. Rei's mind briefly wandered to Shinji Edenia. What was he really like? What training had he gone through to defeat the angel with such ease?
And more importantly, why did he take her in? Putting on the dress, she looked at herself in the mirror to see a massive four-armed shadowy figure with yellow eyes right behind her glaring at her.
"Huh?!" Rei gasped turning around
Whoosh
Only to find herself alone in her closet.
"Hello? "Hello?"
Looking out to her new bedroom and seeing nothing or nobody but her, the girl returned to changing. Unaware of the large shimmer outside her door.
Meanwhile, Laufeia was giving a tour of the complex, showing them the Onsen, the indoor pool, and the outdoor swimming pool on the roof, The outer gardens
"Ms. Ashla as impressive as all this is, we have some things we'd like to discuss regarding Shinji's and Rei's status with NERV," Ritsuko said walking behind the maid
"Of course, of course," she replied
Laufeia led the pair back to the living room and went to one of the dining areas to fetch refreshments from the kitchen. Both women sat on a white and gold meridian sofa, patiently waiting for the maid.
"This couch is nicer than my bed," Misato remarked feeling its smooth softness
"You said it," Ritsuko added
Laufeia returned with three teacups on a tray in hand and sat down. There, the pair began to converse, explaining what NERV is and its purpose. Ritsuko also brought up the subject of the first child's education. Laufeia explained that young Rei would have a choice to remain at Tokyo Junior High or be enrolled at the same private academy as Shinji, causing Misato to scoff out of jealousy.
It was then that Shinji Edenia walked into the foyer to the surprise of the three women.
"Welcome home, Master Shinji." Laufeia "You're home earlier than expected."
" My meeting ended earlier than expected, and I was eager to help our newest houseguest adjust to her new surroundings," Shinji explained noticing the other women in the room
"I see Miss Ayanami didn't come alone. This is a welcomed surprise. Welcome, Misato Katsuragi and Dr. Akagi."
"Hello, Shinji." Ritsuko greeted
"Sorry to drop in unannounced Shinji, we were curious and concerned about Rei's placement. And judging by this palace it's better than where she's lived, I'd gladly leave my apartment for this one. Got any rooms for rent?" asked Misato half jokingly
"Didn't you just move into your apartment a week ago?" Ritsuko deadpanned
"I am flattered, Miss Katsuragi, but you couldn't afford it."
RING RING RING
"I'm sorry that's mine," Ritsuko said taking out her phone from her coat pocket
Looking at it, the fake blonde grimaced
"I'm sorry, but we must cut this short; we must get back to NERV Misato."
"What, aw...I wanted to see more of this place." Misato whined
"On our next visit."
Rei then walked out, wearing a casual, elegant blue Hanafu dress, matching ballet flat shoes, and matching socks. Shinji marveled at how beautiful she looked. From his peripheral vision, he noticed a large shimmery figure against the wall and instantly knew who it was.
"Hello again Edenia-san." Rei greeted bowing in respect
"Hello to you Ms. Ayanami, it's good to see you are recovering." the boy observed
"I trust, Laufeia showed you the rest of the complex."
"Forgive me, I had not shown Miss Ayanami the other levels." the maid replied
"That's all right. It'll be time for dinner soon, so please show her to the main dining area. I'll see our guests out."
"Yes master, come along Miss Ayanami."
"Yes," Rei nodded following the maid and glancing back at Shinji
As they departed Shinji led both Ritsuko and Misato back to the elevator after bidding them a short farewell they too departed leaving Shinji alone.
Then the shimmer moved from its position walking behind the boy who didn't move from his spot.
"Hello Sheeva," said Shinji
The shimmer revealed herself to be the massive four-armed Shokan standing behind him. She wore a new outfit (Dragon Lady Skin MK11 without the rope) and had a device on her upper right wrist.
"Excellent Shinji, I am glad to see your senses remain as sharp as ever," Sheeva said
"Black Dragon's masking technology cannot hide your powerful chi from me," he replied with a smirk
"I never cared for this... technology. But it has its uses, personally, I would prefer to face my enemy head-on and with honor. That is the Shokan way."
Shinji looked up at the massive Shokan woman and smiled, and she smiled back resisting the urge to embrace the boy, knowing her strength. Since, the night they met at the pond, Shinji and Sheeva grew close, playing together, eating together, and sometimes taking baths together, with her giving them to the boy, and Sheeva being as gentle as possible for a Shokan.
When Shinji began training the Shokan woman became an integral part, assisting Shinji in building his strength and conditioning. Weight lifting, with training with rocks and boulders attached to the boy's arms legs, and body. And sometimes occasionally wrestling, with Sheeva, with Shinji once taking her to the ground when he was twelve. Not even Sindel had managed that. Because of her intense training, Shinji could achieve feats, impossible for any normal man to reach.
"So how long have you been here? More importantly, how did you get here?"
The Shokan produced a small circular stone from her person.
"Is that?"
"Yes, the talisman that grants super speed that's how I arrived. There were three of these forged from thousands of years ago, during the time of Emperor Ying." Sheeva said
"Before my great-grandfather exposed his corruption and took over his rule. He told me the story when I was five." Shinji said
"Indeed. I came right after you departed this morning. I have been observing those mortal women that were here" Sheeva answered
"And what is your assessment?" he asked curiously moving away from the elevator
"They are not to be trusted,"
"That much I knew, I suspected their visit was more than mere curiosity."
"And the girl? Why have you brought her here?" the Shokan asked
"To save her from Gendo's clutches. I'm not certain, but I sense he had a specific purpose for Miss Ayanami, the way she was conditioned tells the story."
"You observed that too, other than she is weak and frail as a twig. Do you not believe she is here to spy on you Shinji?" Sheeva asked warily
"I'd be surprised if she didn't. But I'll be watching her as she watches me. Enough of that, do you have time for a spar? I can get Laufeia to occupy Miss Ayanami for a little longer."
Sheeva merely smiled, squeezing the stone in her hand, it lit up, and then...
WHOOSH
"That's going to take some getting used to," he muttered going to get changed
(Two days later NERV)
Shinji and Rei arrived at headquarters in a luxurious Bentley for their sync test. Shinji remained on guard. After his feat strength in the Eva cage and how he decimated the angel, he caused some unrest among the personnel, and pulling Rei Ayanami from Gendo's grasp undoubtedly earned him Gendo's ire.
Shinji caught him off guard not once but twice. The arrogant will always slip up and Gendo was too pretentious, thinking he was in control. Shinji had a couple of small victories but kept focused on the task at hand.
"For now, I must remain on guard, their eyes are upon me. I'll play their game for now, and eventually, Gendo will slip up again." thought Shinji walking to the locker room
Dressed in his designated plug suit, which felt uncomfortable around his muscles, he walked out to the entry plug and climbed in the foul-smelling contraption. Misato and Ritsuko observed from their post on the command bridge. The limited personnel were a little more than wary of the third child. Not only was he scarily skilled, but he also came from a powerful, wealthy family.
Most would think of kissing up to the boy to curry favor with him. Others thought it best not to anger Shinji in any way shape or form, and by extension anger the Edenia family earning their wrath. After the sync test concluded, Shinji and Rei went to their separate schools, Rei continued to go to Tokyo-3 junior High and Shinji went to a private school in the city.
Rei was surprised that Shinji had given her a choice to enroll at the same private school as Shinji or remain at Tokyo-3 Junior High. Not even the commander gave her an option. While she chose to stay at Tokyo-3 Junior High, Shinji informed her she could change schools at any time.
Now Shinji was at a private school named St Gaberial. He wore an elegant school uniform consisting of a white long-sleeve dress shirt ocean blue slacks a matching blazer, a bolo tie, and a burgundy vest. Although Shinji had mostly been homeschooled most of his life, his education far exceeded that of other students but he kept to himself, playing the role of the quiet new student.
Sitting in class, Shinji's eyes were firmly set on the teacher and his lesson, and he diligently took notes. When it came time for a brief break, Shinji was sitting underneath a tree on the hillside, his eyes closed in meditation. But that was interrupted when his ears caught footsteps behind him. By his count of their steps, there were three people.
"Edenia Shinji." a gruff voice spoke
Shinji rose dusting himself off and turned to face the voice's owner. Three boys all dressed in the same uniform faced Shinji. He couldn't tell if the trio were upperclassmen but remained on alert.
"What do you want?" Shinji asked
"Your family is well known throughout Japan and Asia. The whole school's talking about you. What's so special about you?" the first boy approached jabbing a finger into Shinji's shoulder
"I do not claim to be "special"." he replied not flinching "Nor do I listen to the gossip of others."
"If you want to survive this school. You better listen to what goes on here." the second boy said stepping forward a bit aggressively putting Shinji on full alert
"We run this school; you'd do well to show us the proper respect." the third boy said
Shinji inwardly scoffed.
"In my family, I was taught respect is earned, with deeds. If that is all, you should move on" Shinji replied turning around to leave
"Would you look at that guys, Guess Edenia-san doesn't respect us." the middle boy chuckled
"What just because you come from a known and feared family you think you're better than us?!"
To their surprise, he chuckled
"I don't know, do YOU think I'm better than you? You have only just met me." the boy replied
That question did catch them off guard. While the other boys looked unsure, the middle boy grunted and took a hostile stance. Reading his intentions, the young Edenia readied himself. The boy took a swing, which Shinji easily deflected with one hand. Getting into a defensive stance with one arm up and the other right behind him, he replied.
"That was unwise."
The two other boys were poised to attack until the school bell rang, signifying it was time to return to class.
"You got lucky, but you better watch your ass." the boy sneered before departing with his two friends
A sudden draft of wind blew Shinji's way. He looked up at the sky as if sensing something was coming. His musings were cut short when Laufeia approached him. She wore a lime green business cheongsam dress with ankle boots
"Master Shinji," Laufeia spoke getting his attention
"Laufeia," he said
"NERV just called, there's an emergency situation. They need you to report in."
"Very well, is Miss Ayanami with you?"
"Yes, she is waiting in the car."
(Later)
The Angel had already made its way into the city. Shinji was being sent up to Unit 01 to face it. Shinji carefully observed the Angel. It was insect-like, like a caterpillar looking to become a butterfly. He didn't have any more time for contemplation.
Rushing towards the angel, Shinji began with a series of strikes and kicks pushing the angel back somewhat, knocking it into some power lines and electrocuting it.
It was then Misato's voice echoed through the comms
(" Listen Shinji, you're not going to beat it on brute strength alone. We're sending you a rifle, take it now.")
"With all due respect, I won't need it," he replied
("Now! That's an order!")
Shinji begrudgingly agreed taking the rifle he let off, a few rounds which were no good. He dodged a tentacle from the right side and fired ineffective shots.
However, Shinji noticing the now electrified lake tossed away the rifle, but he was hit by a tentacle strike driving him to his knee
"Gah!" he grunted and felt the pain.
("Shinji what the hell are you doing?! Move!")
Shinji didn't need to be told twice, rolling out of the way of more tentacles, Shinji spin-kicked the angel far enough back into the water.
(Shinji! Retrieve your rifle at once!)
"I have a better idea," he replied
Taking out the Prog knife, Shinji willed Unit 01 to toss the knife in the center of the angel, stabbing it. Then, grabbing the oncoming tentacles, Shinji plunged them into the electrified water, sending volts of electricity through the insect-like angel.
BZZZZZZ
"Ragrh!" the angel shrieked
Shinji still holding the tentacles connected to the angel channeled his energy power, causing red energy to spread throughout the angel and then...
BOOM!
The entire top half of the angel was obliterated, and the lower half fell into the water.

"As it was written," Shinji uttered willing Unit 01 to walk away

In the country of Bosnia, in a run-down abandoned military facility, a posh black limo pulled up to the front entrance. Out from the passenger side stood a tall, muscular, well-dressed man with short white hair, a well-trimmed goatee, and a patch over his right eye. Adjusting his black jacket, he approached the door and knocked. The sliding hole opened and closed for a brief second before it unlocked. The door opened and a man inside ushered the visitor to come inside.
"He's been expecting you, Mr. Wilson." spoke the greeter
"I'm sure he is," he murmured
Walking inside, Wilson saw a converted testing facility. From what he could tell, automated assembly machines were working on weapons and wielding machinery parts. He could hear screams echo throughout the facility signifying that experiments were going on. He reached a staircase that led to an open office tinted window, Wilson walked briskly up not wanting to linger here any longer than he should,
KNOCK KNOCK
The door opened to a Chinese woman wearing a purple business suit, and the one-eyed man walked in. In front of the window stood an old man in a well-dressed suit looking outside the window with his arms folded behind him.
"Grandmaster, Slade Wilson has arrived." the woman said
"It has been a while Grandmaster," spoke Slade shaking his hand
"Indeed, it has, my old friend, leave us." the man ordered the woman who nodded
"So, I see the rumors are true, you have begun the initiative to enhance the Tekunin. "Slade observed
Walking over to his desk, with a computer, waving his hand over a rectangular device, a holo-image of a human-sized robot with hair-like wires on top of the head
"Yes, I have, the mortal body is weak, fragile. So we are enhancing our Tekunin warriors. Technology and skill combined to create the perfect warriors,"
"Have you tested them in the field? Are they more efficient than Deathstrike or the Lin Kuei?"
"Indeed, would you like to see a demonstration of our Cyber enhanced warriors?" asked the grandmaster
"That's why I'm here. I want to know if your warriors can help me take back Deathstrike." Slade explained
"There's the rub, as the Americans say. What I heard of you was also true; you were ousted from your position as grandmaster of Deathstrike. By your own daughter no less." Grandmaster spoke mirthfully
"Yes, I taught her too well and she usurped me, but she couldn't finish me. That will be her undoing."
"Very well, I'll show you to the testing area."
Both men exited the office and traveled to the other end of the large facility. At the end of the building, in front of two colored man-sized automatons red and yellow, stood a woman in her 40s with long brown hair tied inside a bun wearing a white lab coat. She was an average size and wore a dark blue dress with matching slippers. Turning to the two men approaching, she greeted them
"Dr. Katto." spoke the grandmaster
"Grandmaster, Mr. Wilson." she addresses the men "You're just in time for the test run."
"Sektor and Cyrax are ready?"
"Yes, although Cyrax put up some resistance ultimately he relented, with some modifications of course."
"Excellent,"
"Sektor? You turned your son into a cyborg?" said Slade
"He was the first to volunteer for the procedure. Such a loyal son, I couldn't be more proud."
"Hmmm."
"Dr. Katto our guest is requesting to see our Cyber warriors in action. Let us grant it." ordered the grandmaster
"Yes sir, begin phase testing. Bring in the Hydro." Dr. Katto Ordered
A menacing blue-colored man-sized cyborg of the same model walked from around the corner and took its spot in the center. Cyrax and Sektor got off their slabs and took their positions opposite Hydro.
"We took this one from right under the Azuma clan's nose. One of their more promising warriors, now Tekunin under my command." the grandmaster stated
"Begin."
Both Cyrax and Sektor came online as did Hydro. Hydro charged first, double-kicking Cyrax and Sektor, Hydro grabbed the yellow cyborg by the arm and tossed him into a steel pillar. Hydro quickly blocked an oncoming punch from Sektor, but Sektor hit Hydro with a quick left barely phasing the robot.
Hydro retaliated with multiple punches to the chest panel. Sektor hit back with a spin kick to the head. Hydro punched Sektor in the face, and Cyrax came back hitting a jump kick from behind. Hydro charged up with power and hit both enemy cyborgs with a double clothesline knocking them down
"Impressive," Slade remarked
However, the grandmaster did not look pleased
"Doctor Katto is it another glitch?" he asked the grandmaster
"No, grandmaster." Dr. Katto answered, "In fact'.."
Both Cyrax and Sektor sprung up quickly and began attacking Hydro in tandem, their strikes becoming more fierce, knocking Hydro momentarily off balance. Hydro countered with knee strikes to Sektor then hit another spin kick. Cyrax grabbed Hydro's arm and hit a kick to the back. Sektor followed suit with a flip kick to the head. Then both the red and yellow cyber warriors hit high and low with spin kicks to the head and body
"Warning Hydro failing." an automated voice said
The grandmaster merely smiled at what he was seeing
"Warning Hydro disengaged"
Hydro was still on its feet swaying, while Cyrax unsheathed a tri-blade from his right forearm and slashed at the neck of Hydro and kicked off the head for good measure.
"Warning project Hydro Fatality."
"Well, Mr Wilson?" questioned Grandmaster
"They will do nicely," Slade replied
(Tokyo-3 nightfall the same day the fourth angel was defeated)
Mileena Edenia was sitting in her car parked outside a bar downtown in Tokyo-3. Her blue eyes watched the entrance intently, focusing on why she was there. To confront, one Misato Katsuragi of NERV. She didn't like how her dear distant cousin fought the large monstrosity today. Despite him being victorious she struck Shinji in the face for defying her orders before he'd had a chance to react
Big mistake on Misato's part
Word from one of the Black Dragon's operatives from within NERV reached her immediately before it could reach her mother. While Sindel, Liu Kang, and Kitana opted for peaceful solutions to conflicts, Mileena could not let such disrespect slide, the Edenias and Kangs had a reputation to uphold. Striking one family member is considered an attack on the family regardless of the reason, adding to that she was also quite protective of Shinji. The former Kahnum grunted impatiently, but just then a purple-haired woman and a blonde-haired walked in through the entrance.
"There she is," Mileena hissed getting out of the car
She wore a form-fitting pink and black outfit that hugged her curves nicely with short high-heeled boots on her feet. Slipping on her shades, Mileena played the part of a wealthy socialite. And unlike those "influencers" in America Mileena, Mileena didn't fake or flaunt it online for clout. She was taught better than that. Entering the bar she found her quarry sitting at the counter with the blonde woman, walking over to the bar Mileena said;
"Excuse me. Do you mind if I sit here?" she asked Misato in a polite tone
"Sure, go ahead," Misato answered
"Thank you."
Mileena took her seat on Mistao's left and ordered a club soda. The bartender did as instructed. Mileena paid the man, sat down, and examined her phone. Misato and Ritsuko conversed.
"Ack! that kid! That arrogant spoiled smartass rich boy!" growled Misato thinking about the battle today taking a drink of beer.
"The third child's very unorthodox, but the results... can't be argued," Ritsuko said sipping her drink which was wine
"You're right there, but he put himself and us at risk acting independently."
"It could have been a lot worse, we were lucky this time, but if he gets out of line again I'll-"
"You'll do what?" Mileena questioned the woman glancing at Misato
"Excuse me?" Ritsuko asked irked that this attractive woman suddenly but in
"This is a conversation between my friend and I." Misato snarked "So kindly but out if you know what's good for you."
"When you speak the name Edenia, it becomes my business." the woman replied
At this, Ritsuko let out a silent gulp and began to sweat. Misato remained oblivious, although she had a couple of beers since the name Edenia probably didn't register to her.
"Y-you know the Edenia family?"
"Know them? I am an Edenia," Mileena revealed with a smirk on her face
"My name is Mileena Edenia."
"Ms Edenia, I'm -"
Dr. Ritsuko Akagi and Captian Misato Katsuragi. I know of you."
"Please to meet to you, so you're related to Shinji?" asked Ritsuko getting a bad feeling
"I am, and I also heard what happened today. While I understand your friend's reasons for doing what she did given the situation even though he single-handedly accomplished what you could not, it's a matter of family pride that I cannot let it slide," Mileena replied slowly taking off her shades.
Misato's military training kicked in despite having a few drinks, putting her on alert. Before she could react, Mileena struck first, Elbowing Misato right in the face.
WACK
"Argh!"
Quick as lightning Mileena caught Misato and pushed her face into the counter, twisting her left arm painfully bringing the NERV captain to her knees. This caused the patrons at the bar to stop and stare at the scene. Mileena gave a warning glare at Ritsuko to back off.
"Listen Katsuragi and listen well: I don't care who you are; or who you work for. If you strike Shinji again for any reason and I hear about it, I will find you and I will tear you limb from limb. No one disrespects the Edenia family and gets away with it!" the woman hissed increasing the pressure on Misato
Glancing at the blonde doctor she addresses
"Make sure she remembers this warning Dr. understood?"
"U-understood." Ritsuko stammered
With that Mileena released Misato who fell to the floor, taking out more money from her wallet and placing it on the counter
"For the damage and a round of drinks for the house," she said getting cheers from everyone sans Misato and Ritsuko
Mileena was headed out the door, but Misato growled in fury at being humiliated and charged after the Edenia woman
"Misato no!" Ritsuko shouted
Sensing it, Mileena turned and caught the captain's fist in her hand; more specifically in between her thumb and index finger.
"That's...not ...possible," Misato uttered
"Darling, you have no idea what's possible," Mileena replied with a smirk twisting her wrist
CRACK!
Argh!
"Okay, Ms. Edenia, my friend has had too much to drink tonight". Ritsuko reasoned "It's been that kind of day for us. She's not in the right state of mind now. Please let her go."
Mileena looked at the woman in her grip bringing her down to a knee. Had she been Outworld, she would've torn this pitiful woman to shreds without a second thought. That's how it was in Outworld when Shao Khan ruled. Only the strong and the ruthless survived. Kill or be killed, the strong conquered the weak. But Mileena was no longer his "daughter" she was her own woman now, both inside, and outside. Mileena relented releasing her grip while Ritsuko breathed a sigh of relief.
"Consider yourself, on notice Katsuragi, and thank your friend she just saved your life, for now," Mileena hissed quietly walking out the door.
Little did she know someone had been observing the altercation with a twisted smile on their face watching Mileena as she departed.

End Notes: Happy New Lunar Year, This chapter is mainly for my man Gunman. Coming up will be the MK11/MK1Eva story that everyone wanted. The premise will be the same as this one Shinji will have a direct connection to Liu Kang and Kitana, he will be their child. He will have powers of lightning and Fire like Liu Kang did in MK11. I don't know why they nerfed him in MK1(ALA taking away his immortality giving him a crappy ending), l chalk it up to shotty writing. I know I said this will be the last chapter for DB, but you know a man, an Icon once said "Nothing is for sure." Especially when ideas keep pouring in like rainwater and you have that urge to write them down. Anyway, I don't know what the future holds. If you want to see more, then say so. I challenge others to do their versions. Anyway, the Cyber Initiative has been begun. Black Scorpion made her presence felt. The next chapter if I decide to continue will feature Shinji's cousin meeting Asuka, then the Deathstrike clan makes another move, and some magical elements might come into play. And yeah that was the Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke, betrayed by his own daughter. And any fan knows betrayal runs deep in MK. That's all that it's stay prime
