The March Wizengamot meeting started with Lord Greengrass introducing a bill. "Chief Warlock, members of the Wizengamot, thank you for being here today," Lord Greengrass started. "I would like to introduce Bill 3520, which would, if passed, put us at the same standards as other countries like France and the United States. This bill would require that any magical school in Britain offer a Latin class." This piqued the attention of many of the Lords and Ladies. Dumbledore didn't look happy.
"Lord Greengrass, shouldn't this be for the Board of Governors to decide?" Dumbledore asked.
"Chief Warlock, I still have floor time, so please don't interrupt," Lord Greengrass said. "But to answer your question, this bill would not only be for Hogwarts. Hogwarts is not the only magical school in Britain. We are also talking about primary schools that teach kids the basics of the Wizarding World. So no, the Board of Governors would not be the right people to deal with this. They only have control over Hogwarts, not the other schools. As I was saying, I believe that if the students at these schools are given the option to take Latin classes, it would help students be able to better perform the spells that they learn, seeing as spells are Latin." Dumbledore cut him off again.
"Lord Greengrass, students do just fine with their spell work," Dumbledore stated, hoping he could stop Lord Greengrass in his tracks.
There was an uproar. That had been the second time Dumbledore had interrupted a floor speech. Lord Bones stood. "Chief Warlock, you are breaking rule 94, now please let Lord Greengrass finish his speech," he said before sitting again.
"Thank you, Lord Bones," Lord Greengrass said kindly. "As I was saying, these classes would help students perform their spells with more accuracy. I…"
"Lord Greengrass, your time is up," Dumbledore announced. Lord Greengrass blinked. He had been given five minutes, yet, only three minutes had passed.
"Chief Warlock, I still have two minutes on the clock," Lord Greengrass stated firmly.
"No, you do not," Dumbledore replied.
Lady McGonagall stood. "Chief Warlock, I request for Lord Greengrass to have an extension of two minutes."
Dumbledore wondered why McGonagall was there. If she and Lord Black were both there, then who was running the school?
"Lady McGonagall, shouldn't you be running the school in the absence of…" Dumbledore started.
"Chief Warlock, you have no reason to know how Hogwarts is being run," McGonagall said sternly. "The school is in good hands. I am here as Lady McGonagall, and you will treat me as such." They had left Flitwick in charge, like they did when she and Dumbledore would go to the meetings. So he had no right to question her about it now, when they've always done it like that, in her opinion. She had heard what had happened in the January session, and she would have gone to the February one, but there had been a detention she had to oversee. She planned to go to as many meetings as she could, just in case.
"Lady McGonagall, I have every right…" Dumbledore started again.
"Chief Warlock, stop getting into business that is not yours," Lord Potter stated angrily. "Now, do your job."
Lord Bones counted four rules Dumbledore had broken that day. He looked over at Lord Potter, holding up four fingers. Lord Potter nodded to him. He had one more strike. Lord Potter whispered something to Lord Black, who nodded. He was on the same page as them.
Dumbledore couldn't believe that his own faction was turning against him. He finally said, "Very well. Lord Greengrass, you have one more minute."
"Chief Warlock, I asked for him to have two more minutes," Lady McGonagall said angrily. She did not miss working with Dumbledore, not in the slightest.
"One minute, Lord Greengrass," Dumbledore announced, ignoring Lady McGonagall.
Lord Greengrass saw Lord Potter motioning for him to yield to him. He wondered what he was up to. "Chief Warlock, I yield the floor to Lord Potter," he declared.
"Lord Potter, you have the floor for one minute," Dumbledore said, suddenly wondering what they were planning this time.
"Chief Warlock, I request we take a ten minute recess," Lord Potter requested.
"The Wizengamot is in recess for ten minutes," Dumbledore said, banging the gavel.
Immediately, Lords Potter, Bones, Black, and Longbottom gathered in a corner of the room. Lady McGonagall soon joined them. Lord Bones put a silencing charm around them so no one like Dumbledore could listen in.
A few minutes later, Lord Potter came out of the corner and motioned for Lord Greengrass, Lord Macmillan, and Lady Parkinson to come over to them. Finally, what seemed like forever, the Lords and Ladies went back to their seats. Just in time too.
Dumbledore banged the gavel to bring the meeting back to order. Lord Potter immediately lit his wand, waiting to be recognized. "Lord Potter, you have the floor for one minute," Dumbledore announced.
"Chief Warlock, I would like to bring forward a resolution for immediate consideration," Lord Potter announced. The clerk read the resolution.
"Resolution to remove Albus Dumbledore as Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot for breaking seven rules of the Wizengamot between January and March of 1972, and for playing politics instead of being impartial," the clerk read. "This resolution is sponsored by Lord Potter, and co-sponsored by Lord Bones, Lord Macmillan, Lord Longbottom, Lord Black, Lord Greengrass, Lady McGonagall, and Lady Parkinson," she finished reading.
