It was like any other day at the base. The kids were in combat training. Arcee was in her holoform, training with Jack.
Roundhouse kick, Arcee said.
I suck at roundhouse kicks, Jack said.
I know that, but you're not going to get any better by not practicing, now kick the bag, Arcee said.
After trying many times and failing, Jack walked away.
Hey, we're not done yet, Arcee said.
I'm done, we've been training for the last three hours, I'm tired, Jack said.
"I get it, but you're not getting any better sitting around here, you think the cons are sitting around doing nothing, no, they train all day everyday, now get over here, " Arcee demanded.
No, you forget I will never be an autobot, so I'm done for the day, Jack said.
JACK get your aft back over, and hit the bag, Arce demanded.
He kept walking, Arcee transformed into her Bipedal form and stepped back in front of Jack.
Get back over there NOW, Arcee said.
Ariel was watching and intervened.
Arcee, enough, Jack go hang out with your grandpa, Ariel said.
Carrier, not now, Arcee said.
Jack go, your mom and I need to talk, Ariel said.
Jack left, Ariel and Arcee sat on some crates.
Do you always have to intervene, Arcee asked.
I'm a grandma, it's my job, you're pushing him too hard, Ariel said.
When I was his age, you and Sire rode me and my sisters hard, Arcee said.
"You also were a lot bigger, and you were cybertronian, he's not, the cons don't even know about him, " Ariel said.
He still needs to be able to protect himself, Arcee said.
True, but we don't let any of those kids go anywhere without one of us, Ariel said.
That is true, Arcee said.
"You also been acting more of a drill instructor, than his mom, and he needs his mom more, I get it your trying to ride him like a father would, but you can't do both, you be his mom, let Optimus, Rodimus, Sentinel, Ironhide and Cliffjumper be his dads, "Ariel said.
You're right, he doesn't have a dad, Arcee said.
You know you and Cliff could become sparkmates, Ariel teased.
CARRIER, Arcee said.
I'm kidding, I know you Cliff are like siblings, Ariel said.
I wish he had a real dad, Arcee said.
"I know me too, he turned a lot better than what he could have in a foster home, and that's because of you, " Ariel said pointing at Arcee.
Yeah, thanks, Arcee said.
Now go make it up to him, Ariel said.
Alright I will, Arce walked into where Jack was talking to Rodimus. Rodimus walked over to her.
Take it easy on him, Rodimus said, before he walked out of the room.
I'm sorry, I shouldn't have acted like that, Arcee said.
It's okay Mom, Jack said.
"No It's not okay, I'm your mom shouldn't have acted like that, you need me to be your mom, not a drill instructor, you don't have a dad, but you have Uncle Optimus, Cliff, Ironhide, Sentinel, and you also have your Grandpa to look up to as your father figure, you don't need me to be that as well, you need to be your mom, the one that picks you up and one you fall, the one that helps you be the best you can be, " Arcee said.
Thanks mom, Jack said as he hugged her, will you still train with me he asked her.
Of course I will, hey why don't you and I make some popcorn, and go watch a movie, she asked.
Yeah I would like to do that, Jack said.
Two weeks later.
Hey there's an energon signal, Cliff and Arcee you want to take it Ratchet asked.
Sure, Arcee said.
Hey why don't we take Jack, Cliff asked.
No way, Arcee said.
Come on Cee he doesn't get out much, Cliff said.
Yeah for a good reason, to keep him safe, Arcee said.
Man you just want him to die of boredom, Cliff said.
FINE, he can come, I don't like the situation I'm sending him back, Arcee said.
Hey Jack put your boots on, and come with us, Cliff said.
Sweet, Jack said. Put his boots on and walked over to them.
If I don't like the situation I'm sending you back you got it, Arcee said.
Okay, Jack said, he was just actually happy to get to go on a recon trip.
Ratchet opened the groundbridge and the three walked through, Arcee guard was immediately up. They were in the forest.
Jack you're going back, Arcee said.
Mom, Jack moaned.
No dood you need to go back, Cliff said.
I can't call back to base, Arcee said.
Jammer, Cliff said.
Jack stayed right behind me, Arcee said.
Okay, he said.
They heard T-cog activate.
You hear that, Cliff asked.
Yep, Arcee said.
They came out to an opening, they heard footsteps behind them and they saw Airachnid come out from behind the tree line.
Well, well, well, if it isn't my favorite autobots to mess with, and it seems you brought a pet, Airachnid said.
Cliff and Arcee you'se to have another partner called Tailgate, Airachnid captured them and Tailgate was severely hurt, and she tortured him till she killed him, making Cliff and Arcee watch.
Mom, who is she, Jack asked.
Mom, Arcee I thought I took the ability away for you to have sparklings, Airachnid said.
During the time Airachnid tortured Arcee, and took the ability to have kids from her, she did it to torture her forever, she knew that Arcee wanted to have sparklings.
Well I guess I'm gonna have to snuff out his spark, Airachnid said.
Cliff turned to Arcee, take him and run. I'll hold her off, Cliff said.
She nodded her head, transformed into her bike form, Jack hopped on and they took off.
Well Cliff it's like you want a rematch, Airachnid said.
I'm gonna make you pay for what you did to Tailgate, Cliff said.
They two cybertronians clashed their weapons together, trading blow for blow. In the meantime Arcee was trying to get a signal back to base, but came up empty. Clifjumper got Airachnid right where he wanted so he can rip her spark out, but out of nowhere she took a tentacle and penetrated Cliffs chest, and he fell to the ground, she the took her tentacle and slashed Cliff's fuel line in his leg, making so he can't get up. She then transformed into a helicopter and started tracking Arcee.
Mom, who is she, Jack asked.
A very bad person, Arcee said.
All of a sudden Airachnid popped out in front of them.
Jack got off and Arcee transformed.
Jack Run, she told Jack.
Mom, I'm scared, Jack said.
I'll find you, go, Arcee said.
Jack took off, Arcee faced Airachnid, pulled out blades and jumped to fight Airachnid. Back to Cliff, the jammer is on Airachnid, Cliff finally can contact the base.
RATCHET, Cliff yelled.
Where have you guys been, Ratchet asked.
Arachnids back and she's hunting Arcee and Jack, Cliff said.
The bots heard that back at base.
Let's go, Elita said.
Every bot went except Ratchet went through the groundbridge. They see Cliffjumper on the ground leaking energon.A couple of bots ran over to him.
What happened, Elita asked.
"Arachnid showed up, I tried to hold her off, she tore my gas line, Arcee went that way, " Cliff said, pointing in a direction.
"Alright, Elita, Moon, Ironhide, Mirage, Rodimus, Ariel, Chromia, and Jetfire come with me, Bulk Wheeljack and Bee take Cliff back, the rest stay here in case they come back," Optimus said.
Yes sir, they said.
Optimus and his team took off, the guys took Cliff back through the groundbridge, and the rest stayed by the groundbridge.
Arcee was fighting Arachnid with everything she had.
After I defeat you, I'm gonna run down your son, and kill him in front of you, Arachnid said.
Not on your spark, Arcee said.
Arachnid roundhouse kicked Arcee in the head, knocking her unconscious. She then started tracking down Jack.
Jack was running as fast as he could, he then heard a voice.
Jack, it was a whisper that kept getting louder and louder, he knew it was Arachnid.
"Jack, why are you running from me, I just want to talk, why do you look up to those autobots there not gonna win the war anyway, you know what's funny cybertron doesn't have oxygen so how are you gonna breath as a human if they do restore cybertron, they not gonna bring you with they gonna leave you here, and act like they never even knew you, " Arachnid said.
That's not true, Jack said.
Arachnid came into sight and got close and closer.
You know I bet she treats you like a baby, I would treat you respect, kinda like an intern, so what do you say Jack, Arachnid said.
Go frag yourself, Jack said.
You know what you are an excuse because Arcee can't have her own sparklings, you will never be able to fill that gap for her, Arachnid said.
She jumped right out in front of Jack, making him fall to the ground.
You will never be anything to those bots, I'm giving you a chance to join the winning side, so what do you say, Arachnid asked.
No, Jack said.
Suit yourself, Arachnid said, she took one of her legs that had a sharp edge on and scratched his face, Jack let out a scream.
Elita and the group had found Arcee, Jack was nowhere to be found,Elita shook her Arcee awake.
AGHHHH, Arcee screamed. When she was out, Arachnid stabbed her back, screwing up her spine.
Where's Jack, Elita asked.
I told him to run, Arcee said.
Which direction, Elita asked.
AGHHHH they heard Jack scream. Arcee tried to get up, but couldn't.
Rodimus take her back to base, Optimus said.
NOO, I am not leaving my son behind, Arcee said.
You are in no condition to go after her, Optimus said.
Rodimus picked her up, and started leaving when Ariel said this.
I'm gonna kill that glitch, mark my words, Ariel said.
They ran into the direction of Jack's scream, Airachnid was stabbing Jack in his right shoulder blade, tearing his nerves, tendons and ligaments,there was a lot of blood, Ariel kicked Airachnid away from Jack.
Oh my god, Moonracer said.
Chromia you're the fastest get him back to base, Optimus said. Chromia picked him up and ran.
Well well I didn't know that the carrier of the four femmes was the only one that could put up a fair fight, Airchand said.
I'm gonna kill you, Ariel said.
Rodimus made it back to the portal, Arcee was in and out of it.
She looks terrible, Sentinel said.
I'm gonna go back with you to help patch her up, Hound said. ( for anyone that didn't know Hound's a medic).
The battle between the bots vs Airchnid was brutal. Airachnid hit Jetfire so hard he flew back and hit a tree and went unconscious, Airachnid stabbed Mirage Chest so hard it almost damaged his spark. Ariel and Elita had her right where they wanted her, Airachnid then turned into a helicopter and escaped.
That's the last thing we need is her here, Elita said.
The kids can not leave the base for a while you understand, Ariel said looking at Moonracer and Elita 1, they both agreed. Ironhide took one of Mirage's arms over his shoulder and helped him up. Optimus went over and woke up Jetfire.
You okay old friend, Optimus asked.
Yeah, where is that bitch, Jetfire asked.
She got away, Optimus said.
Dammit, Jetfire said.
Do you need help, Optimus asked.
No, I can walk, she just damaged my T-cog, Jetfire said.
They started to leave Jetfire and saw how bad Mirage was torn up.
What happened to you kid, Jetfire asked,
What do you think happened to me, Mirage snapped at him.
Live to fight another day, Jetfire said.
That is a very wise friend, Optimus said.
Chromia had run back to the portal, and didn't even stop to talk to the others, and ran right through it.
When Cliffjumper came through Ratchet had already patched him up, by the time Rodimus and Arcee came through and Hound followed behind them, Ratchet and Hound started working on Arcee.
We need to put her under, Ratchet said. Hound Agreed it wasn't much longer than Chromia came in.
MARY, Chromia screamed.
Mary and Sara both ran over to Chromia, to see Jack was torn up.
Put him on the table, Mary said.
By that time the rest of the team came back.
Mirage needs help badly, Ironhide said.
Put him on the birth, I'll work on him, Hound said.
Hours past Arcee woke up from surgery. Mirage was patched up, and Jetfire has had his T-cog worked on. Cliff and Rodimus were by Arcee's bedside after Ratchet was done working on her, they noticed she was awake.
Hey how are you feeling sweetie, Rodimus asked.
Where is he, Arcee asked.
He's safe, he's resting, Cliff said.
She tried to get up, Cliff tried to try to stop her.
Cliff I will tear you apart, where is he, Arcee demanded
Rodimus moved the curtain back to show Jack was resting.
Oh my Spark, Arcee said.
She tried to get up, but couldn't because of her spine. Rodimus and Cliff picked her up and sat her on the same berth as Jack.
How bad, she asked with energon dripping down from her eyes.
Is whole right shoulder blade is destroyed, he's lost a lot of blood, his spine is fucked up, I've done everything I could do, Mary said.
Thank you, Arcee said.
Your spine's screwed up, and some other things, but otherwise you'll be alright, Ratchet said.
How are you holding up Cliff, Arcee asked.
Besides my gas line being cut I'm okay, Cliff said.
I never should have taken him, Arcee said.
It's my fault, it was my idea, Cliff said.
It's neither of your guy's fault, we had no idea she was here, Rodimus said.
But I had the final word, and I let him come, Arcee said.
Hey the only thing that matters is we all made it out, Rodimus said.
Look at him Sire, he's in terrible shape, Arcee said.
Rodimus hugged Arcee and said this.
We all make mistakes, but it's how we learn from them that makes us better, Rodimus said.
He won't wake up till about tomorrow, Mary said.
Can you be my birth next to his, Arcee asked.
Cliff and Rodimus Agreed they moved birth she lied down next Jack and fell asleep holding her child.
The next day Jack woke up.
Ma mom, Jack said hesitantly.
Arcee's eyes shot open.
Hey baby how are you feeling, Arcee asked.
Besides my shoulder, I feel okay, and my spine hurts. Jack realized that when he tried to move, after a while of talking Jack asked a serious question.
Am I an excuse, Jack asked.
Why would you think tha, THAT BITCH, whatever Airachnid told you isn't true, Arcee said.
"But you can't have kids, so all I am is a petty excuse. I never was going to be an autobot EVER, so why did you take me in, you could have given me to the government but you didn't WHY, " Jack asked.
"Okay YES, part of the reason I kept you was because I can't have my own children, and I wanted kids. But it was also your mom's dying wish was for me to take care of you, I knew I could give you a better life than most foster homes could, and I wouldn't ever give you up okay, I love you with everything I have, " Arcee said.
I love you too, Jack said.
They hugged each other for a while, they broke apart, and Jack asked her a question.
Is it true that there is no oxygen on cybertron, Jack asked.
Yes that part is true, Arcee said.
So what happens when you restore cybertron, are us kids just gonna get left behind, Jack asked.
NO, we are not just leaving you kids behind, Arcee said.
What are you going to do then, Jack asked.
We will find a way, we'll make it so you kids can live there, Arcee said.
What if you can't, what are you gonna do then, Jack asked.
I'll stay here till you're grey and old, and watch you die, I will not leave you, Arcee said.
I don't want that for you, I want you to be happy, Jack said.
Being around you makes me happy, Arcee said.
Can we not talk about this for a while please honey, Arcee said.
Okay mom, Jack said.
Do you wanna watch tv together, Arcee asked.
Yeah I would like that, Jack said.
They watched tv for the rest of the day.
Four months later
Couple of months Jack's pretty much healed up, and it's his birthday. He turned 13.
Mom, can we go for a ride, Jack asked.
Honey no, Arcee said.
I'm all healed and it's my birthday, Jack said.
Hang on I'll be right back, Arcee said.
She walked over to Jetfire.
Jetfire I need a favor, Arcee said.
What would that be, Jetfire asked.
Can do air support while I take Jack for a ride please, Arcee asked.
Arcee, Jetfire was then cut off by Arcee.
Please it's his birthday, Arcee said.
Alright only for a while, I also need to test my T-cog to make sure it's working well. I haven't tested that often, since Airchnid damaged it on that day, Jetfire said.
Arcee walked over to Jack.
Go get dressed, we're gonna go for a ride, Arcee said.
Really, Jack asked.
Yep, now go get ready, Arcee said.
Jack went to his room, got changed and came back.
See you out there, Jetfire said before taking off.
Why is he coming, Jack asked
He's just providing air support in case we run into the decepticons, Arcee said.
Okay, Jack said.
Arcee transformed into her bike, Jack got on and they took off, they drove around for a while till they were in the middle of Jasper, Jack looked over at the skatepark to see a bunch of kids playing.
I wish I had that, Jack said.
Arcee looked over, to see Jack was looking at.
You have that, Arcee said leaving town.
It's not the same, Jack said.
Arcee to base, Ratchet said.
Go ahead Ratchet, Arcee said.
There is an unidentified object in your area, Ratchet said.
Bridge me back, Arcee said.
Mom, Jack whined.
NO, I'm not taking any chances with you, Arcee said.
Ratchet bridge now, Arcee said.
Jetfire were taking the bridge back to base, Arcee said.
See you when I get back, Jetfire said.
A Bridge appeared in front of Arcee and she went through it, they were back at base, Jack got off and went to his room, Arcee followed.
Arcee entered Jack's room.
What's wrong, Arcee asked.
What do you think's wrong! Jack said.
Is this about the kids at the park, Arcee asked.
YES, Jack said.
Honey I'm sorry that you can't play with whomever you want, but with Airachnid here and Megatron, I can't just let you go off play, Arcee said.
That's probably what you want, Jack said.
Excuse me, Arcee said.
You just want me to stay here all day and have very little friends, I'm miserable sitting here all day, Jack said.
"YOU DON'T THINK I WANT YOU TO GO AND HANG OUT WITH THOSE KIDS, Honey I want that for you so bad, it kill me's, IT FRAGGING KILLS ME THAT ALL YOU DO IS SIT HERE ALL DAY, but if let my guard up for a second, you will get killed, honey I cry myself to sleep some nights, knowing that you can't have a normal life, that you can't go play with other kids, that you can't go to school and go play sports, if I let you go do those thing the cons will find you and kill you and it will tear me apart, " Arcee said
Jack felt ashamed of himself, I'm sorry mom, Jack said.
Honey, don't be, all you wanted was to be a normal kid, there is nothing wrong with that, but you can't, at least not right now okay, Arcee said, then she hugged Jack and he hugged her.
Now let's go down to the kitchen, there's a party waiting for you, Arcee said.
Mom, I told you I didn't want a party, Jack said.
When you told me, uncle Cliff was already planning it, and it will break his spark if you don't go, so act surprised, Arcee said.
I'm doing it for him, not you, Jack said.
That's fine, Arcee said.
Here, Arcee handed Jack a set of blasters the size was right for him.
