At S.W.A.T. HQ, Erika Rogers, the second in command of the 50-David squad, looks fiercely at the dragon standing next to Hondo, one of her superior officers. Alexis Cabrera and the rest of the team burst into laughter, their close bond evident. Some find the situation amusing, while others are clearly irritated. Hondo, who keeps casting wary glances at Rogers, is the recipient of her dangerously accurate throws.
"Rogers, are you alright?" Commander Hicks inquires, his concern evident. Rocker, the squad member who always reminds them of the creatures' invisibility and the need for a low profile, is conspicuously absent. His absence has left the team with a palpable sense of unease. He should have returned two days ago, just in time for their next mission. The dragon emits a series of hisses, growls, and grumbles, which mirrors the team's unease.
"Peachy, sir," Rogers tells him, causing the commander to raise an eyebrow at her.
"Where's Rocker?" He questions the teams. Everyone shrugs, causing Hicks to sigh. They all thought Street was the lone wolf, but they were wrong. It turns out that anyone who knows Rocker knows he is the true lone wolf, a revelation that surprises the teams. Suddenly, a loud boom was heard. The dragon and 50-David squad all jump at the sound. The cops hear a shatter of glass and someone being thrown their way. Luca, Stevens, and Vandelli catch their missing leader.
Fowler rushes to the injured man to check on him, and the dragon leans in, its concern palpable. The medic smiles at the dragon, understanding its worry. This moment of empathy towards the dragon's concern fosters a connection with the creature. Hondo, now able to see the dragon, takes a step back, clearly startled. The man looks at Rogers, his expression a mix of surprise and understanding.
"What, this thing next to me the entire time, Rogers?" He questions her. Erika smiles at him. He stays close to Deacon, and for the rest of 20-David, he steps away from the dragon. People are laughing and now understand Erika's behavior. Hicks sighs, pitching his nose. He now understands Jack's issue.
"Yes," She tells him. Hondo doesn't know what to do with this information.
"How's Rocker?" Hicks questions his TAMS officer. She checks him over and sighs. The dragon chirps, causing everyone to laugh and look at it. Erika blinks at it.
"Rocker should be waking up soon," Erika tells him, causing the two to look at her.
"The dragon told us," Erika tells them. Everyone hears a groan. Hicks and Fowler nod in agreement. Erika sighs.
"Rocker told me to listen to them, and I did. Lecture him and not me," Erika tells them. Most laugh at Erika throwing Rocker under the bus. The team's laughter fills the room, bringing a sense of joy and light-heartedness to the situation.
"You're in armory duty for a year, Rogers," Rocker grunts. Erika shrugs.
"That's fine," She tells him. The cops sigh at the chaos that they bring.
"Dragons?" Hondo asks Rocker, and the dragon chirps while licking their lips at him.
"Stop stalking and trying to eat Hondo, Langlong," Rocker says as he slowly gets up. Vandelli and Luca helping him. Langlong whines. Hondo gets behind Rocker, causing the younger man to snort. Hicks sighs.
"Does Jack know about this?" He questions the younger man. Rocker blinks at him.
"Sure," Rocker tells him and walks away, making everyone happily annoyed.
"That doesn't help," Hicks calls out, causing Rocker to look back and shrug. Laughter is all around, as that's the only universal emotion to every emotion out there.
