A/N: So, it looks like I will get a little more out of this. Thank-you to everyone who has reviewed. :)
Hope Mikaelson is twelve years old when Bonnie meets her for the first time.
New Orleans is everything Klaus told her and more. From the moment they touch down Bonnie feels the currents of magic in the air. So different, so familiar, and incredibly intoxicating. There is a rich magical history here, a history that is heavily intertwined with Klaus and his family.
Klaus used to be the king three centuries ago. Bonnie cannot imagine him having the patience to rule over any city but apparently, he did it for centuries before his father chased him and his siblings out. He came back when he discovered a plot the witches brewed in the city, a plot involving his yet to be born daughter. Countless enemies have come for Hope since the moment of her birth, Klaus's own parents included, and the Hollow being the latest one.
While Hope continued to grow and thrive in the city Klaus and his family reclaimed, the Mikaelson sibling- apart from Freya- fled each of them carrying a piece of the Hollow inside them.
Now at last, Klaus is free and the only thing he desires above all is to be reunited with his daughter.
No words are exchanged as they drive from the airport to the French Quarter. Bonnie suspects that if it were not for her, Klaus would vamp speed to the house. He is a bundle of nervous energy. It has been five years since he saw his daughter. Five years in which he lived in torment, until he ran into Bonnie in Paris on that fateful day that changed their lives.
Bonnie is a quiet observer as Freya parks the car in front of the large house in the heart of the French Quarter. Klaus practically leaps out and heads inside, not bothering to knock. Bonnie and Freya follow.
Past the entrance is a beautiful courtyard.
The front door has barely closed behind them, when his little girl comes rushing down the stairs. Almost as if she sensed their arrival. A dark-haired woman follows her.
"Dad!" the smile on Hope's face could outshine the sun itself. She happily rushes towards her father.
Klaus easily catches her in his arms and pulls her into a fierce hug. He closes his eyes, savoring the moment of finally being reunited with his daughter.
The smile on Bonnie's face is soft. Her heart skips a beat at the sight of father and daughter together at last. She knows how much this means to Klaus. The love Klaus feels for his daughter is palpable and even though Bonnie has never met Hope before, she can see it is reciprocated. Their bond is truly strong.
Freya sniffles beside her, struggling to contain her tears. The Mikaelson witch had tried and failed to cure her siblings so this moment means a lot to her as well.
Bonnie's eyes suddenly land on the brunette on the opposite end of the courtyard.
Hayley Marshall.
Hope's mother.
Bonnie vaguely remembers Hayley when they were in Mystic Falls. She had been a friend of Tyler then. It was in Mystic Falls where she and Klaus had conceived Hope on a liquor filled one night stand according to the hybrid. Hayley is now a hybrid herself-after dying while giving birth to Hope. She had once been married to a wolf who had been killed by Klaus's enemies. It's strange knowing so much about someone and yet, not knowing them at all. Bonnie feels suddenly nervous. She is not sure if Klaus has told Hayley anything about their relationship or how the other woman will feel about it.
While Klaus and Hope reunite, Freya goes to Hayley greeting her warmly.
"It's true then," Hayley says as they pull apart. "He is free of the Hollow." She glances at Bonnie, a curious yet guarded look on her face.
"Yes." Freya is bouncing with happiness.
Bonnie feels unsure. She does not want to intrude on Klaus's reunion with Hope but she doesn't know how to greet Hayley and Hayley does not seem that interested in making the first move either.
The two stare at each other quietly.
Before things get too awkward however, Klaus is extending his hand towards Bonnie. "There is someone very special I want you to meet," he tells Hope.
The girl regards Bonnie curiously.
She is the perfect blend of Klaus and Hayley, Bonnie realizes. She has Hayley's dark hair and Klaus's blue eyes. Her power is undeniable too. Bonnie walks forward and takes Klaus's outstretched hand. "Bonnie, this is my daughter Hope." He looks at Bonnie before smiling down at his daughter. "Hope, this is Bonnie."
"Hello Hope." Bonnie smiles at the young witch.
"Hi." Hope smiles back. She looks from her father to Bonnie and then back to her father again. With a nod of encouragement from Klaus, Hope extends her hand towards Bonnie. "Nice to meet you."
Bonnie shakes her hand.
The moment their hands touch, there is a spark.
Hope's eyes go wide. "You're a powerful witch!" She is pleasantly surprised.
"So are you." Bonnie felt her power from the moment she came inside the house. Hope it seems had not sensed hers until their hands connected.
"Bonnie helped me," Klaus tells his daughter. "She destroyed the piece of the Hollow I had in me." He squeezes Bonnie's hand. "She saved me and she's going to help your aunt and uncles too."
"Really?" There is a look of pure wonder on Hope's face. "You destroyed her for good?"
"Yes, I did."
Klaus continues to hold Bonnie's hand, lips curled into his all too familiar smirk. "Bonnie very important to me." While he and Bonnie have not put a label to their relationship, they know they want to be together.
Hope nods, seeming to understand what her father means.
Hayley looks surprised by Klaus's words and perhaps it's that surprise that has her walking towards them. She comes to stand behind Hope, placing her hands on the girl's shoulders. Hope smiles at her mother, before turning to her aunt Freya who has approached too. In her happiness, she had completely ignored her aunt. Freya understands of course and offers her a small smile.
"Hayley," Klaus greets neutrally.
"Klaus." Hayley moves her gaze from Klaus to Bonnie once more, paying particular attention to their joined hands. "Bonnie Bennett, the witch from Mystic Falls, right?"
"Yes, that is right." Bonnie lifts her chin and meets her eyes.
Both women seize each other up.
Bonnie knows that Klaus has no romantic feels towards Hayley, according to him after some bumps at the beginning of her pregnancy, they successfully co-parented Hope while fighting an onslaught of enemies that made their way to New Orleans at one point or another. They are co-parents and perhaps somewhat friends, nothing more.
"Thank-you," Hayley tells her. "What you have done for Hope-" She looks down at her daughter and smiles softly. "Thank-you." She offers Bonnie a small smile and it strikes Bonnie that she's probably nervous about meeting her. This is new territory for all three of them. Per what Klaus has shared with her; he has not had any romantic involvements with anyone (saved for Cami and that was short lived).
Bonnie nods and returns her smile.
"I want to show you my drawings!" Hope practically drags Klaus away from them. She no doubt wishes to have her dad to herself. Bonnie can't blame her or Klaus for wanting to spend time together.
Bonnie watches them go and turns to Freya. She wants to give Klaus all the time he needs to reconnect with his daughter.
"I'll show you to Nik's room," Freya offers and helps Bonnie with their luggage.
"Welcome to New Orleans," Hayley says.
"Thanks."
"Come on," Freya leads Bonnie up the stairs towards Klaus's bedroom.
By the time Klaus steps inside his bedroom, night has fallen over New Orleans.
Bonnie has showered and changed into comfortable white silky pajama pants and a white camisole. She is standing near the balcony, enjoying the cool breeze filtering through the open French windows. It's late but New Orleans is buzzing with activity still. She can hear the chatter from the people walking down the street and the booming music as well. The house is spelled so that no noise filters from outside once the windows close (a handy spell Freya told her) specially during Mardi Gras. Bonnie has decided to keep the windows open for now.
"Hope was too excited and it took a while for her to fall asleep." Klaus wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her back against his chest.
Bonnie smiles as she feels the tender kiss he places on her neck. "She's happy to see you." The love he feels for his daughter is beautiful and Bonnie feels extremely happy for both of them.
"I didn't think she would want me to stay with her and tell her a story," he sounds almost bashful.
Bonnie turns in his arms so they can face each other.
"She's almost a teenager-" Klaus shakes his head, he can hardly believe it. The smile suddenly drops from his lips and it's replaced by a grimace. "I missed five years of her life."
Bonnie knows that there was a part of him that was afraid that Hope would be upset with him, for leaving her, even if she knew the reason was to keep her safe. She also knows how much it has hurt him to have missed so many years with her. "You're here now. That's all that matters." She does her best to reassure him. She bites her lip as she thinks of something else.
Klaus is immediately alert. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." She does not wish to damper his mood. This is their fist night in New Orleans and they have plenty of time before the next full moon.
"Don't lie." Klaus gives her a knowing look.
Bonnie shakes her head. He has come to know her so well. "I was just thinking, we still have a good three weeks or so before the next full month and-" she stares into his eyes as she speaks. "Maybe Freya and I can go and you can stay with Hope." The last thing Bonnie wants is to separate them again.
"I'm not going to let you do this alone, Bonnie."
"Would you be able to leave Hope so soon after reuniting with her?" Bonnie challenges. While she unpacked and showered, she thought long and hard about their plans to cure his siblings from the Hollow's control. They need to find perfect locations to create the prison worlds and the spell itself must be done during the full moon. It is not an easy task even if she already has had some success with him. "Would Hope be okay with you leaving her again?"
Klaus sighs. Judging by the look on his face, Bonnie can see that he hadn't really thought about that.
"I don't want to leave Hope," he murmurs. "But I don't want you to do this by yourself, even with Freya helping you." He touches her face gently. "They are my siblings. I owe it to them and to you, to be there and help in whatever capacity." His fingers trace her chin and brush over her lips. "We cannot take Hope with us, it will be too risky."
Bonnie nods.
"A few days," Klaus says as he continues to gently stroke her face. "It shouldn't take longer than a couple of days, right?"
"True," Bonnie places a soft kiss to his fingers before continuing, "regardless of where your siblings are now. I want to find perfect spots across the continents, secluded areas like that old church in France to create the prisons. We could meet there with them once everything is ready. A couple of days, a week at most should suffice."
"Good." He places his hands on her shoulders and stares down at her, a determined look on his face. "I'm going with you, Bonnie." As much as he does not want to leave Hope so soon after reuniting with her, Klaus knows he needs to go. He better than anyone knows how taxing the spell can be. "I'm not letting you do this alone. We're in this together."
"Okay." Truth be told, Bonnie wants him there with her. She will feel better knowing that she has him and Freya watching her back. "Freya and I will start working on it tomorrow." While he reconnects with Hope, Bonnie and Freya will work on finding the perfect locations.
"We shall make time to explore the city," Klaus's hands move from her shoulders down to her hips, he tugs her closer. "I did promise to show you New Orleans," he leans down and kisses her sweetly on the lips. "I want to show you my favorite spots. Hope is already thinking of a list of places we can go, if you don't mind-"
"I would love for you and Hope to show me your city." Bonnie gets on her tip toes and wraps her arms around his neck. "I want to eat beignets," she tells him. "And gumbo," just thinking about it makes her mouth water. "I also want to see what the magical community here is like." New Orleans is a melting pot for all supernaturals and the witches in particular-have a thriving community that has endured centuries. Bonnie wants to explore all of it.
"You will love it here," He promises. He feels so happy to be back in his favorite city. His reunion with his daughter and the promise of having the whole family reunited soon has him feeling giddy. He kisses her passionately, wanting desperately to show her just how grateful he is, and how much she means to him.
Bonnie kisses him back in equal fervor. Klaus wraps and arm behind her back, bringing their bodies even closer together before he begins pushing her back slowly towards the bed. Bonnie giggles when the back of her knees hit the bed. She's panting when they pull apart and Klaus's eyes have grown darker with desire while his plum lips are crimson. Bonnie's own lips are swollen from their heated kisses.
With a snap of her fingers the windows close, the lights in the room go out, and the few candles by the dresser and nightstand light up with her magic. Bonnie pulls her white camisole over her head and pulls off her pajama pants and underwear until she stands naked before him. "Take your clothes off," she commands huskily.
Klaus grins and complies to her wishes, practically ripping his shirt and pants off and throwing them on the floor. Using his vampire speed, he drops her down in the middle of the bed, before crawling over her body, mouth desperately kissing her again. The hunger they feel for each other is unmatched.
Bonnie loves the feel of his body pressing her down on the mattress. It's so familiar. It's all hers. No matter how many times they have done this, the thrill she feels is delicious.
They take their time kissing, touching, and exploring each other's bodies.
Bonnie lays back against the soft pillows, arching her back as he kisses his way down her neck, and chest. His hands play with her breasts while his lips move down to her navel, seeking her most intimate place. Bonnie opens her legs for him and sees his head disappears between her thighs. He looks up at her, lips curling knowingly while his lust filled gaze flashes to gold momentarily; Bonnie feels the heat spread all the way to her toes as he growls. He kisses her, and licks her, and Bonnie cries out. Her hand fists on the sheets, the other pulls at his hair while her moans echo around the candle lit room as Klaus continues to devour her with his mouth.
He knows every inch of her by now and knows how to bring her to the brink.
Bonnie surrenders completely to him.
In the following days, while Klaus spends time with Hope, talking, painting, or taking her to school, Bonnie and Freya work on choosing the locations to imprison the parts of the Hollow the other Mikaelsons possess.
Hayley joins them from time to time when she is not busy with her wolf pack or in meetings with the factions in the city.
When she is not researching with Freya and planning for the upcoming full moons, Bonnie is with Klaus and Hope. True to his word, Klaus takes her to his favorite spots in the city. They tour the French Quarter with Hope, and try different restaurants- the ones that attract tourist like flies and the hidden gems the locals love to frequent. Everywhere they go, people notice Klaus. Some nod at him with respect, others watch him with fear, and many more gawk at him. Bonnie is fascinated by the different reactions her lover provokes in people while Hope seems oblivious to it all. All the supernatural residents of New Orleans have now become aware of the return of the hybrid. Bonnie also gets curious looks. Word has quickly spread that Klaus Mikaelson has returned with a Bennett witch by his side.
Klaus does not join the meetings between the factions, he leaves all of that to Hayley and the leader of the New Orleans covens. He prefers to spend his time with Hope, who has thankfully welcomed Bonnie with open arms.
If Hope is not with her father, she is with Bonnie and Freya learning about magic. The magic Freya practices is different from the magic Bonnie practices and Hope is fascinated by it. She likes talking to Bonnie about her progress with the different spells she's learning and they both enjoy learning potion making from Freya as she is an expert at it. More than anything, Hope loves accompanying Bonnie and Klaus through every corner of the city-from the steamboat ride they take one afternoon, to the weekend they venture into the Bayou or when they visit the old magic shop in Algiers.
Hope is curious and smart and adores her father. Bonnie is completely charmed by her and the little witch is charmed by Bonnie in turn.
The trio become quite a familiar sight.
Times flies by as they continue to spend time together.
Klaus keeps his hand on her lower back and guides Bonnie from one street to the other ignoring all the stares as he continues to delight her with the rich history of the French Quarter.
Bonnie marvels at the strong currents of power all around her. The more time she spends in New Orleans, the more in tune she becomes with the city's magic. "You can feel the magic in the air," Bonnie murmurs awestruck by the strong currents of power she feels as they make their way through Jackson Square.
"It makes your skin tingle," Hope agrees with her.
"Not many places in the world have this kind of power floating around," Bonnie shivers. Her senses also alert her to four witches in the square, two of them have little tables set up with crystal balls and tarot cards. Two werewolves are walking in the opposite direction while a young vampire with a daylight ring walks past them, giving a slight nod to Klaus and Hope before joining a group of giggling teenagers near the entrance to St. Louis Cathedral.
Klaus follows her gaze. "The peace between the different species took years to build," he comments. "But after all the bloodshed things are actually good."
"Mom is the leader of the werewolves," Hope shares with her. "Dad is the king."
"So, I've been told." Bonnie gives Klaus a teasing smile.
The hybrid smiles back.
"My brother Marcel was king once too," Hope tells her proudly. "He left with aunt Bekah."
Father and daughter share a sad smile at the mention of Rebekah and Marcel.
Bonnie has heard a lot about Marcel Gerard, the boy Klaus adopted and raised as his son. The once king of New Orleans who helped Klaus and Hayley protect Hope. Klaus loves Marcel as if he were of his blood and despite their many differences, their bond remains strong. Bonnie knows that Klaus wishes to have Marcel with them too as he is part of their family.
Hope soon gets distracted by a street performer.
"I think I found the perfect spot," Bonnie keeps her eyes on the musicians as they enchant everyone in the square. She links their hands together.
"Rebekah," Klaus says without preamble.
Bonnie feels no surprise there. Rebekah is his baby sister, his favorite sibling.
"I don't know how to tell her that we will be leaving soon." Klaus keeps his eyes on Hope.
"It will be just for a week at most," Bonnie squeezes his fingers reassuringly. "And I already told you-"
"I'm going, love." Klaus cuts her off as he turns to face her. "I'm not leaving you alone, not now. Not ever." The emotion in his eyes has her trembling. As much as she considers herself an independent woman, she loves how protective he is of her. "You're stuck with me, Bonnie."
Bonnie laughs. "I don't mind at all." She gets on her tip toes and kisses him on the lips. It's a sweet lingering kiss as they are in public and Klaus is keeping an eye on Hope who has moved towards one of the artists selling his paintings.
Klaus glances at Hope before turning to stare at Bonnie once more. He grabs her hands brings them to his lips, kissing her knuckles tenderly. "Would you consider living here, with me?" he asks her suddenly. "Permanently, I mean."
"Yes," Bonnie responds without thinking. Caroline has been bugging her for years to take a position at the Salvatore School but Bonnie has no desire to return to Mystic Falls. As much as she loves her friends and she has no doubt she will visit them again someday, she left the town of her birth for good. She is ready to settle down, to plant roots, and she is ready to do it with Klaus. She laughs. "I would like to live here with you." New Orleans seems like the perfect spot for them to begin their lives together.
Klaus looks relieved as he pulls her closer. "Yes?" he breathes against her lips.
"Yes." Forever, Bonnie thinks as he kisses her once more.
Hope puts on a brave face as they say goodbye to her the following week. She knows Klaus, Bonnie, and Freya are leaving to get Rebekah. She understands why she can't come with them but she still worries.
"Everything will be okay, sweetie." Freya hugs her and kisses her cheek.
Hope nods before turning to her father, bottom lip trembling. She does not cry however; she is brave despite her worry and anxiety.
"I will return soon," Klaus promises as he crouches down in front of her.
"With Aunt Bekah," Hope whispers.
"Yes." Klaus pulls her to him, hugging her tightly to his chest. He kisses the top of her head and pulls away reluctantly, throat clogging with emotion. He nods towards Hayley.
"Be careful," Hayley tells them.
Bonnie is surprised when Hope hugs her too but she returns the hug in earnest. "It will be over soon," she promises.
Hope smiles at her. "I know you can do it." She has seen and felt how powerful Bonnie is. She has no doubt she will succeed again.
Hope and Hayley watch as Bonnie, Freya, and Klaus leave.
Klaus glances one last time over his shoulder and winks at Hope who smiles and waves goodbye.
Klaus coordinates with Marcel so that he can lure Rebekah to the Alaskan wilderness.
Bonnie has chosen a spot at the base of a mountain; a cluster of trees near a lake with pristine water and rocky boulders. The spot between the boulders is where Bonnie releases her Psychic blast and creates the prison world to trap the piece of the Hollow Rebekah carries. Klaus is impressed at witnessing such a feat of magic but he is also agitated as the agreed upon hour comes and goes.
The sun is setting as they wait for Marcel and Rebekah to arrive.
Klaus fidgets next to Bonnie.
"Stop worrying," she watches as he begins to pace around the shore. The only sound is the water lapping against the rocks and the occasional bird flying by. Freya has built a small fire to illuminate the area around the lake and keep her and Bonnie warm as the temperature has dropped considerably.
"They're late," Klaus hisses.
"They will be here soon," Freya assures him although Bonnie can see the anxiety on her face.
Night has fallen by the time Marcel finally arrives. He looks happy as he greets Klaus and Freya with a warm hug before turning his inquisitive eyes towards Bonnie, looking her up and down with clear male appreciation. "So, you're the witch that is finally going to put an end to the Hollow," he grins at her. "Been hearing lots of things about you, Bonnie Bennett."
"I have heard a lot about you too," Bonnie smiles back at him.
"You're a looker." Marcel whistles. "Still don't know what you see in this guy." He points to Klaus and makes a face.
"Marcellus," Klaus is not amused.
Marcel chuckles. He clearly enjoys getting under Klaus's skin. "Welcome to the family, I guess." Marcel winks at Bonnie
"Thanks." Bonnie laughs. Marcel seems friendly and is very charming too.
"Where is Rebekah?" Klaus interrupts. "And where the bloody hell have you been? You are late."
The smile drops from Marcel's face. "I had to snap her neck." He confesses while glancing at his Jeep. "She's in the back."
Klaus flashes towards the Jeep.
"She refused to come," Marcel explains as he, Bonnie, and Freya follow Klaus.
The hybrid takes his sister out of the back seat of the Jeep and brings her to the spot Bonnie selected. He lays her down on the ground gently. Rebekah looks peaceful.
"What do you mean?" Freya looks worried.
"From the moment we arrived, she started acting odd." Marcel licks his lips. "She seemed agitated and suddenly decided she wanted to leave. I brought her under the pretense of a romantic weekend but she was moody and angry the whole time." He looks at Klaus before continuing. "I was worried she was going to stab me or break my neck and flee, so I broke her neck instead and brought her here as quickly as possible." He tries to appear calm and collected but the edge in his voice, tells Bonnie just how worried he is. "She's been acting really weird lately."
"The Hollow," Freya shares a knowing look with Klaus and Bonnie. "It must know or sense what we are about to do."
"Did she sense anything before?" Klaus questions the younger vampire. "Last full moon?"
Marcel nods. "She felt something for sure. We thought you had run into Kol or Elijah again," he responds while glancing at Rebekah who remains unconscious. His face softens. "She'll be out a bit longer, I think." He turns back to face Klaus, a determined look on his face.
"She'll definitely wake up once I start the spell." Bonnie looks down at Rebekah.
Freya moves towards the duffel bag with the blood bags they have brought and pulls out the white candles Bonnie is going to need for the spell.
"She is going to be in a lot of pain," Klaus explains to Marcel. "She's going to need a lot of blood too, yours even depending how long the ritual takes and how hard the Hollow fights to remain within her." They had brought a bunch of blood bags to help her but Klaus knew from personal experience just how bad it could get and the toll it would take on Rebekah's body. "The Hollow will unleash its wrath on Rebekah, it will hurt her, and her body will start to desiccate."
"For the spell to be successful, we cannot allow her to desiccate," Bonnie adds.
"Right," Marcel looks worried and tugs nervously at his leather jacket. They had spoken about the spell Bonnie needed to preform and he knew they were in for a long night ahead of them. "But it will work?"
"Yes," Bonnie feels confident. "I'm going to paralyze her too," she tells them. "But I might still need the two of you to hold her down." She glances between both vampires. "Depending how strong the darkness inside her is, the paralyzing spell might not hold her down completely."
"Sure thing Cherie." Marcel gets down on his knees next to Rebekah and helps Freya to take her jacket and shirt off, leaving her in a pink bra and pants.
Bonnie draws circles on Rebekah's skin before taking a deep breath and placing the moonstone on top of Rebekah's chest. The circle of white candles around her body light up and Rebekah's eyes suddenly snap open. "NO!" she hisses while attempting to get up. The paralyzing spell prevents her from moving so far.
"Rebekah-" Marcel who kneels outside of the circle of candles tries to grab her hand but Rebekah growls at him, vampire face surfacing.
"Traitor," she hisses while her body lifts a bit despite the paralyzing spell. The Hollow's dark magic is fighting Bonnie's spell, desperate to take Rebekah away from there before Bonnie begins to try and extract it.
Bonnie looks at Freya who quickly understands, they are going to need those blood bags sooner than anticipated. The barrier Bonnie set in place earlier will also help prevent Rebekah from leaving the area using her vampire speed but it's very obvious that the Hollow is going to put one hell of a fight. The darkness inside Rebekah is stronger than it was on Klaus.
"Sister," Klaus places his hands on Rebekah's shoulders and pushes her back down, pinning her in place.
Rebekah continues to growl and tries her best to get up once more. "Fucking traitors!" She screams at them. The veins under her eyes grow darker and split down her cheeks and neck. "Let me go!" her angry gaze turns towards Bonnie then. "I will rip you apart!" she growls trying desperately to lift herself up and claw at Bonnie's face with her hands.
Bonnie ignores her, concentrating on the spell.
"Rebekah please-" Freya tries to reason with her.
"You too!" Rebekah spits, angry red lines form on her arms and chest. She lets out a blood curling scream as Bonnie begins chanting.
Klaus is joined by Marcel and the two keep Rebekah down.
Rebekah screams and curses and trashes.
Freya feeds her blood.
Marcel murmurs loving words, hoping desperately that they will reach her ears and that she will get the strength to hold on and fight. "Come on, Bekah do not give into it."
Bonnie keeps her eyes closed as she continues to chant furiously.
Steam rises from Rebekah's body, blood oozes down her nose and ears. "It burns!" she screams. "Make it stop!" her face returns to normal as she begs Marcel and Klaus. "Please Nik!" She screams as angry blisters form on her arms and legs and face, some of them burst, oozing a foul odor as a yellow liquid comes out.
Freya pumps more blood into her system.
"Just hold on, my love." Marcel hisses as some of the dark magic pouring out of Rebekah touches his hands and arms. "Fuck!" it feels like acid as his skin is burned to the bone. It hurts like hell.
"Give him some blood," Klaus orders Freya.
Rebekah continues to be able to move despite the spell keeping her in place. She trashes from side to side and Klaus has to use his hybrid strength to keep her on the ground.
"Let go," Freya mutters as she tries to help Marcel.
"I'm fine!" Marcel insists but his skin is melting.
"Marcel!" Klaus growls.
Marcel has no choice but to let go of Rebekah and accept the blood bag Freya offers him.
Rebekah continues to plead and scream as her body is assaulted by the Hollow's dark magic. The attack is vicious- it burns her, it cuts her, it breaks her bones even.
Klaus also gets burned by the angry currents of magic pouring out her but he refuses to let go.
It goes on for what feels like hours.
Klaus keeps holding Rebekah in place as Freya and Marcel take turns giving her blood. They cannot let her body desiccate not until Bonnie completes the spell.
The Hollow fights long and hard.
Rebekah suffers painfully until finally her screams turn to pitiful moans. Her body goes completely still.
The full moon reflects on the surface of the lake.
The moonstone glows.
The candles around Rebekah's body surge and then blow out completely.
A strong gust of wind follows.
A clap of thunder strikes the sky as the spell is finally completed and Bonnie seals the prison world with her blood.
A small trail of blood makes its way down Bonnie's nose as she finishes. "It's done," Bonnie breathes with relief, eyes blinking against the darkness. She feels like she has been in a trance.
Klaus is immediately by her side, pulling her back against his chest. "You alright?" he whispers against her ear.
"Yeah," Bonnie leans back against him. "Tired," she mumbles as a small tremor invades her body.
Klaus quickly bites his wrist and places it against Bonnie's lips. "Here you go, love. Drink."
Bonnie drinks his rich and thick hybrid blood without question.
Rebekah lays on the ground, a greyish tint to her skin while her eyes remain closed. She looks like she is sleeping.
"Rebekah," Marcel pushes her hair away from her face and touches her forehead. She looks like she has gone to hell and back. Her entire body is covered in cuts and burns and blisters that have yet to fully heal. He quickly bites into his wrist and fees her more of his blood.
Freya begins to chant and helps heal some of the wounds covering Rebekah's body. "Even with your blood and my magic, it will take a while for her body to heal fully."
"Yeah." Marcel turns to Klaus and Bonnie. "She alright?" he asks his Sire upon seeing Bonnie leaning against him, eyes closed.
"The spell is draining, nothing some sleep won't cure." The hybrid responds as he continues to hold Bonnie tenderly.
"Our cabin is nearby," Freya informs Marcel. She grimaces upon seeing all the wounds Rebekah has. Even with her magic helping, Rebekah looks like she has been tortured.
"I'll take Rebekah." Marcel picks her up slowly, cradling Rebekah as if she were made of glass.
Klaus picks up Bonnie in his arms, while Freya picks up the candles and cleanses the area. She hands Klaus the moonstone which is still warm to the touch. "Thanks." Klaus places it inside his pocket as they slowly make their way out of there.
When the sun rises that morning, Bonnie is fast asleep in the master bedroom of the cabin they rented out. The moonstone is on the nightstand while Klaus lays next her, contemplating her sleeping form.
Rebekah is the room next door sleeping and healing while Freya and Marcel take care of breakfast.
Klaus traces Bonnie's cheek with infinite tenderness. "Hi," he whispers as she opens her eyes slowly.
"Hi." Bonnie smiles in greeting. She yawns and stretches her arms out. "How long was I out?"
"A few hours," Klaus responds. "How do you feel?"
"Good." Bonnie turns to her side so they can face each other. "How is Rebekah?"
"Still sleeping." Klaus grimaces as he recalls the way his sister's body was mutilated by the Hollow's dark magic.
"The darkness inside of her was more active than with you," Bonnie comments. Rebekah had been hurt a lot more than Klaus as the Hollow's power and control over her was stronger.
Klaus nods. "It knew we were planning something."
Bonnie sighs. "We should take extra precautions with Elijah and Kol-"
"Don't think about that now."
"But-"
Klaus places his finger on her lips, effectively silencing her. "Don't worry about it now." He wants her to rest first and foremost. Her well being is his priority. "Thank-you Bonnie." He is deeply grateful for all she has done for him and his family. "You are bloody brilliant!" He can't help but be in awe of her.
Bonnie smiles and touches his chest, hand reaching to play with his necklaces. Even though she feels good, she does not want to get up just yet.
Klaus shifts their bodies, so she can curl next to him and rest her head against his chest. "Sleep for now, we'll figure out the rest later." He kisses the top of her head.
Bonnie smiles and throws an arm around him as she closes her eyes.
Sleep claims her once more.
She feels safe in his arms.
