Kellie & Tyler's House
Lorenzo was in his vehicle outside the house, making a phone call.
"Alcazar," Taggert answered irritated, "Why in god's name are you calling me at this time of night?"
"You ever hear of Angel Investigations?" Lorenzo asked, "or some guy named Angel. I'm still working on a last name."
"Do I even want to know what Kellie got herself into that you're asking me about a private investigation firm in a part of town where the cops who work that area tell ghost stories about," Taggert asked, "And this Angel guy is some kind of vigilante who doesn't seem to age."
"I'm not sure what Kellie got into exactly," Alcazar said, "O' Brien found her, but won't tell me where she's at. Just that she needs to lie low after some cult attempted to use her as a sacrifice when she stumbled across them looking for a missing girl she was helping. This Angel person and his team helped get her out of immediate danger."
"As much as Angel Investigations and that part of town give me the heebie jeebies," Taggert said, "If a cult is looking for Kellie, she might have found the right people to help her with it."
"You don't by any chance know where Angel's office is?" Lorenzo asked.
Taggert hesitated for a moment.
"Hyperion Hotel was his last known headquarters," Taggert said, "But I'd advise you maybe sit tight and let O' Brien handle the situation. The stories are wild. The rumors wilder."
"I'm sure it will be fine," Lorenzo said.
"Don't say I didn't warn you," Taggert said before hanging up.
Lorenzo thought for a moment before going up to the house. Tyler opened the door before Lorenzo could knock.
"What exactly is going on?" Tyler asked, "I know what Johnny said, but he's being extremely cagey. Kellie is apparently busy right now or avoiding telling me what happened."
"So you know about the cult that tried to sacrifice Kellie?" Lorenzo asked.
"And that she's worried they'll come after her and she wants us to go to the island," Tyler said, "Meanwhile she's holed up some place no one knows about with some people that might have helped her before. Do we know anything about them?"
"I called Taggert right before I came in here," Lorenzo said, "He knows of this Angel Investigations. He's spooked by them and that whole part of town. But he said that they might be her best bet with regards to the cult."
"Spooked why?" Tyler asked.
"Believe a bunch of ghost stories about the area," Lorenzo said, "I was able to get the office location for Angel Investigations out of Taggert. I'll check it out and see if I can't track Kellie and Johnny down."
"I'll come with you," Tyler said.
"I think you should do what Kellie asked and get to the island with the kids," Lorenzo said, "We don't know anything about this cult. I don't think we should risk them trying to use the kids or you to try to get Kellie to complete their sacrifice."
"This is frustrating," Tyler said, "I want to talk to Kellie first."
"I know she's shut down," Lorenzo said, "But I don't think we should chance this cult finding you or the kids. We both know Kellie will shut down more if that happens."
"I know you're right," Tyler said, "But I'm going to keep calling."
"She'll answer or call eventually," Lorenzo said.
"I know," Tyler said, "It's just."
"Just what?" Lorenzo asked.
"I don't know," Tyler said, "I'll make another call and then get the kids ready."
"Frances is arranging a plane," Lorenzo said.
Hyperion Hotel
When everyone had dispersed, Kellie went to check on Johnny. Gunn was nearby but stayed out of the conversation.
"Are you okay?" Kellie asked, "I know I hassled you about the whole finding out you have a relative thing. But no one would have guessed yours would be a few centuries year old vampire."
"That's never not going to be weird," Johnny said, "I think I'd rather just pretend that's not the case."
"Good luck with that I guess," Kellie said, "But why did you never mention your cousin, Teagan? Did you know she's a witch?"
"I didn't know she was an actual witch until today," Johnny said, "I knew she was into crystals, tarots and mystical whatnot. I didn't think it was real. She believed all the family legends about Vampires. So I called Teagan to see if she might know anything about the rituals. She just showed up."
"You've never mentioned her before because," Kellie asked.
"Having to pretend I was dead because your uncle blackmailed me did a number on my family relations," Johnny said, "We haven't really been in touch."
"Considering your cousin showed up with a phone call," Kellie said, "I'm guess you just kept your distance when you resurfaced."
"I really need to do that security sweep," Johnny said, "Have you called Tyler yet?"
Kellie rolled her eyes at Johnny.
"Maybe you should do that before meddling in my family affairs," Johnny said, causing Kellie to physically tense up.
"Easy, Pistol," Spike said, pulling Kellie back as Faith got between her and Johnny.
"You can't take out your uncontrolled excess energy induced aggression on the humans," Faith said.
"Really, you're going to lecture on that," Spike said.
"You know what, I bet you're starving," Faith said, dragging Kellie with her, "I know I am."
"I'll keep an eye on them," Spike said, following after Faith and Kellie.
"Why do I feel like I should be worried about the three of them together?" Johnny asked Gunn.
"Because all three of them have a knack for finding trouble individually," Gunn said, "Combined, I don't even want to think about it."
Faith and Spike took Kellie to the kitchen area. Spike noticed Kellie check her phone and ignore it.
"You can't ignore the hubby forever," Spike said, "You really should talk to him, so he at least knows you're alive."
"He knows," Kellie said, "I don't how to explain this to him."
"Take it from someone married to a Slayer where getting into situations is part of the deal," Spike said, "he just needs to hear your voice."
"You two are married?" Kellie asked surprised.
"What no," Faith said, dropping various food options, chocolate, ice cream, nuts, crackers, cheese, veggies, on the table.
"I'm married to a Slayer named Buffy," Spike said.
"Is she here then?" Kellie asked.
"No," Spike said, "She's in England on some other slayer mission."
"Spike just came out here to annoy Angel," Faith said.
"No, I was sent here to maintain relations between this crew and ours," Spike said, taking the ice cream that Kellie was grabbing, "First phone call. Then ice cream."
Kellie looked at Faith for back up. Faith just shrugged. Kellie glared at Spike before taking out her phone and calling Tyler.
"Hi Kellie Girl," Tyler said, relieved, "It's about time you called."
"Sorry, there's just been a lot going on tonight," Kellie said.
"It sounds like it," Tyler said, "Your uncle said some cult tried to sacrifice you. Are you okay?"
"Just a few bumps and bruises," Kellie said, "But I can't come home yet. I had some help from some really old friends I guess you would call."
"Which ones?" Tyler asked.
"Some investigators I met while I was on the run from Ethan," Kellie said, "They got me out of a tight spot back then."
"Anyone I know," Tyler asked.
"Doubtful," Kellie said, "I never mentioned them or looked them up when we came out here. Time and we run in very different crowds."
"I'll have to thank them," Tyler said, "For keeping my wife safe then and now."
"Are you and the kids ready to go to the island?" Kellie asked.
"We're getting things together," Tyler said, "We'll be heading to the air field within the half hour. I need to go wake the kids. But before I do that, I want to see your gorgeous. See for myself you're alright."
"Tyler, I don't think we should waste anymore time," Kellie said.
Spike rolled his eyes and took Kellie's phone.
"Hey," Kellie said.
"Just hold your something," Spike said, turning the video chat function and moving the phone around, "Mr. Mafia Queen, turn your video on. That's better. I'm Spike. That's Faith. And here is your pistol of a wife. See not a scratch on her."
Spike handed the phone to Kellie who glared at him.
"Satisfied," Kellie said, hoping Tyler wouldn't notice the change in eye color.
"What happened to your eyes?" Tyler asked.
"Some artificial dye that was part of the ritual," Faith answered, "It'll wear off."
Tyler shrugged Faith's off answer, believing it.
"I shouldn't waste any more time then," Tyler said, "I love you, Kellie. I'll see you after you've shown this cult the light or something."
"I love you too, Tyler," Kellie said, "Tell the kids I love them."
Before Tyler could reply or do anything else, his eyes flashed reddish yellow and he passed out.
