"We got a problem, Angel," Spike said, seeing Faith and Rachel surrounded. Faith trying to get to Kellie, while protecting Rachel.
"I can see that," Angel said, as chanting got louder, "Forget staking, we just have to get to her and get out."
Angel and Spike scrambled and shoved through the vampires that remained between them and the table as the vampire priests forced Kellie to lay on the table and slit one of her wrists with a ceremonial knife. They held her wrist and neck so that the blood from Kellie's wounds dripped on the table.
Unlike Rachel's blood which did nothing out of the ordinary when it dripped on the table, Kellie's blood hissed as it shimmered and purple and black smoke rose from the table.
"Lilith has chosen a vessel," a vampire priest yelled, "Tie her to the altar."
"That's not good," Spike said as he and Angel got to Faith and Rachel.
"Looks like your new friend just passed their test with flying colors," Faith said, "I think we just have to stop the whole thing now."
The priest chanted and worked on trying a struggling Kellie to the alter. Fed up with her, one vampire knocked Kellie across the head, rendering her unconscious. Gunn and Cordelia arrived and began taking out vampires.
Spike and Faith took off towards Kellie leaving Angel with Rachel. The priest set a pointy black and silver crown with black, purple, and red jewels embedded on the table.
The priests continued chanting while on priest began a second chant, and the crown shimmered with grey light, engulfing Kellie and the table, along with the black and purple smoke.
Spike barreled through the remaining vampires and picked up Kellie off the table breaking up the ritual. The shimmering stopped, but the smoke and light disappeared into Kellie.
Faith staked a couple more of the priests who decided to disburse. One tried to grab the crown, but was stopped by Faith who grabbed it first.
"If you want to die for it, go ahead," Faith said. The remaining priests looked at each other, their dwindling army, and left. The remaining vampires disbursed.
"What kind of freaky mojo were these vamps into?" Gunn said, "This was more than just feeding and turning a few runaways and fosters."
"They were trying to resurrect someone named Lilith," Angel said.
"They were unsuccessful, I take it," Cordelia asked, looking at Rachel on the floor and noting her wounds. Cordelia knelt down to look at her wounds and pulled out some gauze to clean them.
"I think so," Angel said, "She apparently was not an acceptable sacrifice. Spike and Faith were able to break up the ritual on their second attempt."
"Why does that girl remind me of someone?" Gunn asked, looking over at Spike and Faith kneeling on the floor next to Kellie. Spike was trying to wake Kellie up. Faith was checking out Kellie's wounds on her wrist."
"Nightingale, ring any bells," Angel asked.
Gunn and Cordelia thought for a moment.
"That was Lorne's name for the girl with the stalker, a lot of weapons, scared Fred," Gunn started to say.
"And held us all at gunpoint and couldn't be bothered to say goodbye when Oz got her out of town," Cordelia interrupted.
"C, got any extra gauze there," Faith asked, joining the larger group, "We'll need to get both girls to the hospital for these wounds."
Cordelia handed the gauze to Faith who went back over to Spike.
"So who's our new friend?" Faith asked, "Pretty brazen and gutsy moves on her part."
"Kellie, just met her outside," Spike said as Faith grabbed Kellie's wrist, "Angel apparently knows her. She didn't know vampires existed until tonight. She was tracking the other girl. Her foundation was trying to help her with getting into college when the girl went missing."
"She's human right?" Faith said, "That's why the vamp church tried to take her for this sacrifice right?"
"She's human alright," Spike said, "Why do you ask?"
"Her wounds are almost healed already," Faith said.
"Maybe a perk of the ritual not being completed," Spike said, hesitantly as Kellie stirred, "We can hope right…. That's right, Pistol, time to wake up."
Kellie's eyes fluttered open and she sat up quickly, startled, unsure of her surroundings.
"You all alright?" Faith asked, "I'm Faith by the way."
Kellie shook her head, "I'm not sure. Everything just is I don't. It all feels off."
"You took quite the blow to the head," Faith said, "Not to mention whatever magical whammy they managed to hit you with."
"Are you a vampire?" Kellie asked.
"Vampire Slayer," Faith answered
"And Rachel?" Kellie asked, shrugging off Faith's answer, confused.
"Probably needs a hospital from what Cordelia says," Spike answered.
"Right," Kellie said, standing up shakily as Faith and Spike helped her get to her feet.
