"Tony?" Ziva said after a while breaking the science.
"Hmm?" He asked.
"Nevermind" said Ziva.
"Ok" answered Tony.
They where still in the same position when they heard some notices from the front door. Both where about to get up when they heard Gibbs voice "Just me" he said.
Tony and Ziva made sure that there was more space between them when Gibbs entered the living room.
"Everything alright?" asked Gibbs.
"Yes" said Tony.
"You talked?" he asked now looking at Ziva.
"Yes" she said.
"How did it go?"
"Not so good" said Ziva.
Knowing he would not get more out of her he sat down next to her turning the TV on. Of cause there was a western running. Soon Tony fell asleep and snored silently. A few minutes after he fell asleep is head was resting on Zivas shoulder which she did not mind.
That did not go unnoticed by Gibbs but he just ignored it because it was still somehow normal between them.
Soon after Ziva also fell asleep and Gibbs just let them sleep. He was also there after all and Ziva would wake up with just any movement in the house. He turned the volume on his TV down a little bit and continued watching his western.
The next day they where all having breakfast at Gibbs place before they took two cars to the Navy yard. Gibbs was about to tell the David woman that they where driving with him when Tali said "Can I drive with Zeev?" .
Gibbs nodded and told Tony who was also about to enter the car "DiNozzo with me". He wanted to give Ziva and Tali some alone time to talk.
"Yes Gibbs" he said turning around.
Ziva was a bit nervous she only knew how to be a big sister to a kid not a grown up. Tali had her own live now. Her own friends, college courses, maybe a partner and so on. They grew up totally different, almost like strangers. What should they talk about? What did they still have in common?
When both got into the car Ziva started the engine and drove off. It was quiet in the car for a while but unlike the comfortable silence with Tony the other night Ziva did not like that one.
"I did not know" said Tali.
"Did not know what?"
"That you where alive Zeev. Back when I got injured Ima told me you died. That she wanted to let everything behind." Tali said looking at her older sister with tears in her eyes.
"Just what she told me about you before she just leave me alone" said Ziva watching the street.
"Aren't you happy to see me Zizi? asked Tali because Ziva was so quiet.
"Of cause I am happy to see you Tali. I thought you died around 15 years ago. Eli told me a few years later that our mother also died. So it is just a lot to take in. And with someone after you I don't want to loose you just when I got you back. So just give me some time yes?"
"Why do you call father by his name?" asked Tali. She still remembered that Ziva always adored their father.
"That's a long story" said Ziva looking upset. At least that's what Tali thought.
"So then tell me about your team. It looks like you are very close?"
Ziva smiled a little bit. "We are working together for 7 years now. We spent a lot of time at work so you are like a family then" she said.
"I am happy that you found people who take care of you" said Tali.
"They do. And I look after them." She said.
"When can I get back to college?" asked Tali.
"Not today. We can talk with Gibbs later and we will see if it is safe for you to go back there. But you won't be able to go there alone right now."
"Thanks" said Tali smiling at her. Ziva was smiling. She always had to smile when Tali smiled at her when they where kids.
"I guess we will have a lot to catch up on Zizi" said Tali just when they parked the car in the garage. Gibbs parked the car right next to them.
After getting out of the car Rivka and Tali where brought back to the conference room to get their statements from the night before. Tony, Gibbs and Ziva entered the elevator. Tony and Ziva stood in the back right next to each other and Gibbs stood in front of them.
"You alright?" Asked Tony looking down at her and she nodded. After the ding Tony and Ziva went to the locker rooms to get changed and Gibbs went back to the squadroom.
When Tony and Ziva where done they went back to their desks to start working on the case again. A few minutes later Tim ran into the bullpen "I am so sorry Gibbs but there is a construction which started today on my street and so I had to drive on a different road. There was a lot of traffic. Won't happen again boss".
"The bossman is down with Abby McLate" said Tony which made Ziva grin.
Tim started his computer when Tony walked towards him. "So McConstruction Gibbs will not like you being late". Tim rolled his eyes saying "I know Tony."
"How did it go last night?" he asked and Tony stopped smiling. He ignored the question and went back to his desk.
"We did our job" said Ziva not looking up from her work and McGee did not ask further questions.
Later Tony and Ziva had to run an arrow regarding the case and they came back with lunch. They went to the pizza restaurant close to the Navy Yard to get some pizza.
Back at the bullpen Tony, McGee and Ziva sat together in the middle of the bullpen to eat their pizza. They have been talking and messing around during their brake.
Meanwhile Rivka had to use the toilet at one point. While walking back she took a minute to watch her oldest daughter obviously being on her brake. She looked happy. Something Rivka had not thought of seeing Ziva like that ever again. Still she wondered why Ziva was now with NCIS and not with Mossad anymore and how she became a citizen.
After moving to the US with Tali and her healing process Rivka often though about Ziva. Sometimes she did regret not being a better mother to her but she just couldn't not with Eli being there, manipulating her, training her. She often thought about trying to get Ziva out of there but it was too late. She could not risk Talis future so she had to live with that decision.
But now she had the first real chance in forever to have a real relationship with Ziva, to restart well only if Ziva would let her in.
Knowing which road Eli must have led her and seeing Ziva right now she realized that her daughter might have found a place for herself and also friends. It looked like she was very close to her coworkers if she was being comfortable enough around them to let loose with her guard and emotions.
After seeing Ziva and agent DiNozzo she wondered if there was more between them than just coworkers or friends? She also knew that she might not know about that if they would not talk. Rivka went back to Tali and the agent that was with them.
The team was almost done with the pizza when Tony reached over to Zivas pizza and took the last piece out of it.
He took a bite when Ziva tried to get it back but he held it into the air.
"Give it back" said Ziva.
"I am still hungry so it's mine now" said Tony with his mouth full with pizza.
"Tony" said Ziva looking at her with that 'ninja face'.
He looked at her with a challenging glare. Just when Ziva wanted to try to get the pizza back Gibbs walked up from behind Tony taking the piece out of his hand eating it himself.
The three of them quickly went back to their desks to give Gibbs an update about the case.
At the end of the day Gibbs said "McGee get Rivka and Tali. DiNozzo, Ziver go home"
While McGee went to get the two Tony and Ziva where in their way to the elevator.
"So what are you going to do tonight?" Tony asked Ziva.
"Why?" asked Ziva.
"Just wondering" said Tony when the elevator doors opened.
"Probably just go home" said Ziva.
"Well they are showing the sound of music in my favorite cinema" said Tony.
"The one on fith street?" Asked Ziva.
"Yes the one where we have been to before." said Tony. The elevator doors closed and Tony looked at Ziva.
"Wanna go?" he asked her giving her his best DiNozzo smile.
"When?" Asked Ziva not sure if she wanted to go there.
"When we leave right now we will be there just in time and we do not even need your fast driving to be there on time" he said.
"I am not driving fast" said Ziva.
"Ziva come on. You? How many speeding tickets did you get again within this year?" he asked her.
Ziva rolled her eyes as they where leaving the elevator.
"I was not finished Tony" said Ziva. "I was going to say not that fast".
Tony laughed saying "Yeah bet you where going to say that".
Ziva playfully hit him on the chest. "Do you still want me to join you or do you want to go to the cinema alone?"
When they arrived at the cinema and parked their cars Tony went over to Zivas car to open her door to let her out.
He held out a hand while leaning onto the open car door saying "Are you ready for an adventure of a lifetime madame?"
Ziva took the hand he offered and got out of the car. He then closed the door when she said "as always you say that about every move we watch together and I already know that adventure. But you know that"
"Ok. Ziva 1 Tony 0 for this time" he said smiling.
Once inside, they grabbed popcorn and drinks before heading into the dimly lit theater. The smell of buttery popcorn filled the air, and Ziva couldn't help but chuckle at the sheer volume of snacks Tony had ordered.
"Tony, are you sure you need that much popcorn?" she asked, smirking.
He shrugged, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "You can never have too much popcorn when watching a classic! Besides, I have to make sure you enjoy it."
"I definitely enjoy some popcorn every know and than. That was not I was referring to" she said taking a bag of popcorn from him and eating some of it.
"Hey" he started with a playfully hurt voice "what is it you are referring to?".
"Well I just realized that you are already getting your winter belly and you are not getting younger which means that"
"Ouch" said Tony. "So I am fat and old now?" He asked her.
"That's not what I was saying. But actually you are quite a bit older than..."
"Please don't end that sentence with me David" he said.
"I guess I don't have to. You just did that" she said and he just looked at her.
"But as you might remember I told you before that I like older men" she said with a flirtatious smile and elevator eyes.
"Ok haha now you are just messing with me. Very funny Zi" he said.
Ziva then laughed saying "You where the one that thought I needed to be cheered up"
"Touché" said Tony leading the way to their seats.
