Turning Marcus observed the teachers he held in place and shook his head, "You people disgust me, well except for Filius, you people knew somewhat about what had happened, and instead of trying to help your students find their families you all planned to keep them here and force the muggle-born and raised the breed with the purebloods, well good luck with that now,"
Turning away from the table Marcus watched as the last of the students stepped through the portal when suddenly a dozen elves popped into the room with girls both young teens to grown women all of which were in various states some unconscious while others were bandaged, then more and more were brought in by the time the last was brought in there were twenty, the most of them were also pregnant at various stages of pregnancy, and a few held infants in their arms protectively, the unconscious ones had an elf at their side holding a baby.
Marcus enraged spun on his heel and threw a blasting curse at the head table, when it hit the table the thing was nearly turned to dust, and large fragments were thrown into the teachers who couldn't so much as move a finger, they all hit the floor a few with shards of wood embedded in their bodies.
Visibly forcing his anger down he turned to the girls and women, slowly walking to them he scanned their minds, all of them were muggle-born or half-bloods who had wanted to leave Hogwarts in the first few months, but Albus couldn't have that happen where the families would spread the word that Hogwarts or at least this version of Hogwarts was not as advertised so he imprisoned them and sold their reproductive abilities to the purebloods whose spouse couldn't have a child for one reason or another.
Marcus stopped a dozen feet from the group, "I'm sorry you had to go through this," he said tears of rage falling down his cheeks, slowly to not frighten them more he opened the communication to the island, "Have an android place one of the large tents near the gate and initiate the medical program in its maternity setting for all stages including infant care, there are twenty patients" he ordered.
'Acknowledged the tent will be placed in five minutes,' the computer answered.
Slowly he walked around the group letting his bracer scan them, when he came to the youngest he stopped to look her over, she was between twelve and thirteen years old, and also according to the scans three months pregnant, but the odder reading was that she still had her hymen as did the other girls under fifteen years of age.
Kneeling, he got to eye level with her," Your name?" he asked when she looked at him, definitely but impressively guarding her slightly swollen abdomen.
"Sally Ann," she told him, "Who are you?" she then asked.
"I am Marcus, and I'm here to take you away from this place; I can't promise that you'll find your family; do you know who the father is?" he told her, then asked while pointing to her abdomen.
"I'm an orphan and don't have family, so you don't need to worry about that, Harry Potter," she then pointed to two other older girls near the same level of pregnancy, "Them too, the headmaster told us we were helping keep the Potter line in case something happened to him during his adventures here," she informed him.
"Alright, do you know that Harry doesn't know this has been done?" he asked while scanning the two pointed out.
Here she and the other two gasped; they cradled their abdomens a bit more and shook their heads, "No, we were told he asked for us specifically," Sally said, tears now filling her eyes.
Sighing he nodded, " Alright you three will come with me, this shouldn't have been done to you, I won't tell you what to do, but I want you three to decide if you want to tell him or not, if you choose to not tell him I can take you to a place that you can live and raise the child with the help of people who won't judge you for this," he said after glancing at his bracer, the mothers were indeed these girls but he would need to get a better scan of Harry to ensure he is the father.
Sally nodded her head while looking down, and the other two did as well; soon his bracer beeped, 'The tent is in place and set as requested.'
Marcus stood and then looked at the elves, "Take them through the portal over there and into the tent you'll find there, I have a med witch waiting for them," he told the elves, who followed his orders with small pops.
When an elf popped beside Sally, he stopped it from taking her or the other two, " These three need to be taken to the house instead, so wait until the others are moved., also if any of them have property here in the castle, gather it all and take it over as well."
"All moved to medi ladies and be healed, " an elf told him as it stood by and watched the others do their work, "Hoggywartty has freed us elves and ordered us to go watch over the students and babies, she said yous freed her from bad old whiskers and will be going to sleep soon to heal what whiskers broke, " the elf said while looking like it was on the verge of tears.
Marcus nodded, then looked over the crowd of elves that were now gathering around him, "Alright, three females, come to me. The rest of you go through and wait for me to talk with the students," he told them while three young-looking elves stepped forward and the others returned to the island.
"Girls I want each of you to take one of these to bond with you to help you, they'll be your nannies for when the babies are born and help you in other ways to keep you and them safe," he told the three who choose an elf and listened to the elf to know how to accept the bond.
When the bonding was finished, he nodded, "Please take them to the house, you'll find a sitting room just inside the front door; they can wait for me there," he told the three elves, who nodded, then took the hand of their mistress and popped away.
" Hogwarts I am sorry for what has been done to you and hope that one day you can wake to find a better world," he said before walking out of the great hall after closing the portal, as he walked the torches slowly died and the portraits seemed to fall asleep, the moving stairs ground to a stop, as he neared the main doors he could hear the people still in the castle screaming and yelling from everywhere.
Walking down to the gate, he saw the people being forcefully ejected; when he was at the gates, they opened just enough to pass through them, then they closed with a loud clang; just as the gates locked, the wards flared, then it faded, revealing that the castle was now completely dark.
"Goodnight," he whispered, then turned to face the crowd of students and teachers with a blank expression, "You've brought this upon yourselves," he said, then flew into the sky and away from the screaming people, never knowing that magic had fled them after Hogwarts herself judged them unfit to wield it.
Flying south at great speed leaving a sonic boom that frightened wildlife for miles around, for nearly an hour he flew until he was nearing Britain when he was blinded by a flash of light followed by a pressure wave that forced him to a stop by the opposing blast of extremely hot air and his speed causing him to cough up a mouthful of blood.
Forcing himself to fly up he nearly reached the clouds before he stopped then looked down only to find that he could see the entire British island was now a burning wasteland, quickly he brought up his bracer to see if it had gotten a reading on what happened, horror-filled him as he read the display, someone had detonated a plasma bomb possibly in an attempt to stop the monsters out there but it was larger than they anticipated or some superweapon from some other reality had been brought over and without someone who was able to deactivate it and it went off.
Slowly he fell to the ground, and all he found was a glassed surface and burning wreckage, opening a portal he stepped through, slowly and blindly he walked through the portal and closed it on instinct after he was through, he didn't hear the questions from the students as he walked to the house, the horror of an entire nation being destroyed in that instant filled his mind.
When he reached the house he opened the door and walked through the house and to the medical room, not seeing or hearing Hermione and the three girls on the couches calling out to him, he simply walked to a bed lay down, and passed out just as the bed he choen adjusted to his body to make him comfortable.
Hermione had found the three girls and elves in the living room after she looked in on Harry and her younger self when she heard what they had been through she was horrified and ready to go open a portal to confront Dumbledore until they told her that there were many people down at the gate waiting for Marcus to talk to them.
Deciding to help, she ordered the computer to create more personal tents and then had the androids distribute them amongst the students to distract them for a time.
A little over an hour later, Marcus walked through the door and house to the medical room, not even stopping. When she called out to him, she noticed his armor was scorched and the tear stains on his cheeks.
Following him, she tried to get him to speak, but he didn't respond, only walked to a bed, fell on it, and passed out; the doctor, who had been in his office reading some research, rushed over and began scanning him while young Hermione Celeste on Harry watched.
"Physically, he is fine, given the state of his armor. He was struck by a high-temperature blast, but I am reading high degrees of chemicals indicative of a great emotional shock, " the doctor told her as she watched.
"Can you tell if he was attacked or if this was a natural phenomenon?" she asked while trying to see if his armor could tell her something but she could only see the burns.
"I'm sorry, but no, I can't; I am only seeing the results of high temperatures' impact on the armor; his body is not damaged."
"Monitor him and call for me. I'm going to find out what happened from his last opening of the gate; that may tell me what happened; there are three young girls in the living room; I'm going to take your assistant to give them scans for you to go over," she told him then walked out of the room the android following.
In the living room, she calmed the girls down when the android approached them with a Tri-quarter held up, "It's fine this is our doctor's assistant it going to do a diagnostic on you then let the doctor know how you are while he is also helping a few other people," she then watched as the scans were finished, then turned to the girls, "Do either of you know how to work TV?"
Sally nodded, "We had one in the orphanage, they let us watch it if we were good," she told her.
"That's good, " then she held up the remote she picked up from a side table, " You can watch some TV while you wait, it's only set for child-friendly stuff right now but you should be able to find something," she told Sally and in turn told the computer to only allow cartoons or child-friendly live action shows.
Sally took the remote and looked it over, then pointed at the TV and turned it on to find a channel she remembered from before Hogwarts; when she saw something familiar, she set the remote down.
"Call out what snacks you want. Our cook will hear you and prepare what you ask for. Your elves can retrieve it, but I ask them not to try to use the equipment as it doesn't work well with magic," she warned them receiving nods from the girls and elves alike.
"I'll be back soon. I need to check on the others down on the lawn and a few other things," she said, then turned and left, hoping Harriet would sleep a while longer.
Leaving the house, she flew down to the gate and saw the large group of tents set up, but the children and teens were looking up at the house, a few whispering. When she landed, a few of the older teens came to her and pushed a single person up front as the spokesman.
"We were wondering if you could tell us what you are going to do with us and what's happened for him to show up in such a state?" he asked while the others nodded.
"We are planning to find your families if we can or a community that will be able to take you in, and I don't know what happened I was on my way to see if I can find out," she answered while looking around noticed the larger tent that had two androids standing in as guards.
"Do you know how long we'll be here?" the spokesman asked.
"No but it shouldn't be more than two days, you'll be taking the tents with you, so I would recommend you go learn about them, I'll tell you that they are voice-activated, inside they will expand up to the size of an apartment and they can make food," she then noticed the elves milling around, " where did they come from?" she asked pointing to the elves.
The spokesman shrugged, " They popped in after that large tent was put up, but they won't let us in then those two came down and told us it was for a medical emergency and that the patients needed their privacy, the elves said they would need to bond with us, we did that but don't know what to do with them now."
Hermione nodded, then looked around the island, "For now, tell them they can go around the island and harvest the fruits and vegetables that are ready to be picked," she told them, getting a few nods.
"What do we tell them to do with the stuff?" he asked while watching the elves happily popping out after one of the others told her elf to spread them out to do as suggested.
"Create crates to hold the things," We'll see about what to do after we know more.
"Okay I'll get the others to do that," he nodded.
"Ah, right, the tents can offer a classroom setting to help you and the others keep up with your studies up to and beyond mastery in both mundane and m," she told them, remembering she had the computer add those things for the children.
"That'll help; we'll let the others know," he said, ushering the group away to let the others know, so she could finish up her errands.
Hermione nodded, then turned to the large tent; when she neared, the androids stepped aside to let her enter; once inside, she came to a stop, seeing the women and teens laying on the many beds and a few with incubator beds at their sides.
A EMH looking like Beverley Crusher noticed her and came over, "We currently have twenty women in varying stages of pregnancy and a few infants in dire need of medical treatment, some of these teens below the age of fifteen years of age are still showing up as virgins indicating that they were artificially inseminated, the older women are showing signs of repeated rape and violence, so much so that they are not reacting to stimulus other than when offered drink or food," the EMH told her reading from a PADD.
"Do what you can for them. Have you found any problems with their minds, such as potions or odd energy signatures?" she asked.
"No we've only found the remnants of fertility potions but nothing else is present, as for their minds we assume that they were subjected to torture after they were over the age of fifteen, I can make a guess that their minds have simply closed off after the treatment they have been through," the EMH said after glancing at the PADD.
"Do what you can for them, have you offered abortion to the ones that can make the choice?" Hermione asked.
"We have offered to remove the fetus and place them in a maturation tank, but none accepted, for the ones that are not mentally receptive we do not recommend doing this as we do not know if doing so would cause them shock,"
"Okay, continue to help them, have any of them identified the fathers?"
"Yes, we have names, but we can not prove that without a genetic sample," the EMH said while looking over her PADD again.
"Marcus may have some scans of the place they came from, have the computer go over his bracers scans and see if it was able to get a generic profile to compare with the babies," Hermione said while she rubbed her face.
"Right away, I've given you all the answers I can without breaking my privacy protocols will allow me to," the EMH told her then.
"Alright, I'll leave you and your team to work, " Hermione said, turning away from the sight of the women; exiting the tent, she saw that the elves were already filling crates with fruits and vegetables, one popped to her side holding a golden apple.
"Wes be feeling big magics in these funny apples, dos we give them to our masters and misses?" it asked, holding the apple up to her.
Hermione took the apple and then scanned it with her bracer, the readout shocked her, the apple was giving off what seemed to be condensed magic and what seemed to be a mutagenic reading, and then the bracer began a search for anything that could help, after a few minutes the screen showed a page from an old text.
'Idun is the goddess of the Earth from the Nordic t, her domain is the gardens of Valhalla, and the fruits of her labor fill the tables in Odin's great hall for the feast for the warriors upon their entry into the afterlife should they fall in battle, The only fruits not served to the mortal souls are The Golden Apples, such fruit is used as a gift to those that gain Odin's favor as they fight in the eternal battle with the Etans, it is said that this fruit will give the eater god-like strength and power for a time, No living mortal is offered this fruit as it shall give them the powers of a god for a short time, after the powers leave the person shall become immortal,'
After reading this, she shook her head, " No, put these away from the children; take them to the farm on the other side of the island," she told the elf, who nodded and then popped away with the apple.
Finally, she turned to the gate, approached the DhD, laid her hand onto the surface, and mentally ordered the gate to open to the last place Marcus had opened it from.
She then ordered the portal into view mode, once that was done she was shocked to find the area on the other side was a burning wasteland, quickly she ordered the gate to give her a bird's eye image, and what she found was a pockmarked landscape, hand flying to her mouth and off of the DhD closing the portal.
"What was that?" came a question from behind her, she turned to find young Hermione with Harry looking much better and Celeste as well.
"That was Britain, " she answered, sinking to the ground, tears falling down her cheeks.
The others stared at her in confusion and then shock as her words fully entered their minds; they then sank to the ground as well, Hermione grabbing Harry in a hug so tight he could be seen turning red from the pressure.
Slowly, word of what was seen through the portal spread, and the teens and children were all in varying states of shock; elves could be seen popping around, giving them vials that turned out to be calming drought; Celeste, the least affected, spoke after a few minutes.
"What happened to cause that?"
Hermione shook herself out of her shock, " I'm not sure but I intend to find out," she said opening the communication system of her bracer, "Build ten probes using the schematics of the cylinder Marcus built, then send them to the gate programmed to scan and search and rescue, add a micro replicator to produce locator tags for living people," she ordered.
'Right away, five minutes for the build,' the computer responded.
Five minutes later the probes flew to the gate and hovered over the DhD waiting for commands, Hermione stood shakily to open the gate again, "Search for survivors as well as scan the area affected by what happened, report every ten minutes and tag living people with the tags," she ordered just as the gate opened.
She turned away from the gate, " I'm going to have to leave the gate open, nobody and I mean nobody is to go through it, we don't know if there are any lingering things that can hurt us," she told the gathered people who nodded as they looked at the burnt remains of their home country.
Hermione then looked at the trio that came from the house, "We know a few groups in the states that have the room for everyone one is in a city that has plenty of room, they do have a sort of magical group that will accept everyone, the second group is in a military facility that is underground with a large surface area above ground and while they don't have magical people they are used to the unusual things and won't try anything against you all, then there is a community where Disney Land was but I know nothing about them, talk with everyone about it and you all choose what to do," she told them before turning to the house and walking off.
Marcus slowly opened his eyes, reaching around he didn't find the presence of Hermione's body as usual when waking, in fact, he slowly realized that he was not in his bed, sitting up slowly he looked around to find he was in the medical room, then it came back to him the flash of light then seeing the burnt remains of the British island.
"You are awake. Can you tell me what happened to cause such a shock that you were nonresponding to people?" the doctor asked as he began scanning him.
Marcus looked at the doctor blankly for a few seconds, not recognizing him. Then his mind caught up with the world, " It's gone." was all he said.
"What is gone?" the doctor asked this time focusing on Marcus' head.
"Britain, it's gone," Hermione said from the door.
The Doctor looked at her then back to Marcus, "What caused this? my scans only indicate that you were struck by something extremely hot, and if not for your armor, you'd have been covered in third-degree burns, and we would be having this conversation in a hyperbaric chamber while we used a dermal regenerator."
Marcus looked down at his armor and saw the scorch marks, he willed the armor into its pocket to reveal even his normal clothing was scorched as well, " A plasma explosion which I believe was controlled by some shield because it did not set the atmosphere aflame," Hermione answered for Marcus pulling up a display on one of the wall panels to show the scans taken by the drones and the passive scans of Marcus' bracer.
The Doctor looked over the screen, "Those readings are similar to the failure of fission reactors," he said while focusing on a few readings.
"Yes the drones found the remnants of a fission reactor in the largest of the craters, but the other blast zones do not show these things," Hermione told them expanding a map showing the British island only the northernmost point was untouched for the most part only a few fires here and there, "Whatever happened destroyed everything, the drones have only found wildlife in the portions left standing," she concluded.
Marcus sank back down on the bed, "I promised to get those kids home and now they have nothing to return to," said while rubbing his face hard
"I've offered to take them to Sunnydale, the SGC, or Disney, they are talking about what to do right now, but we'll need to get them settled soon so they can use the counselor program to speak with someone, right now they are on calming droughts but those won't help for long," she told him while stepping to his side and taking his hand gently.
Marcus nodded slowly, "I'll call up Giles and George to see what they think, I'm not sure about the people at Disney."
"Okay, now we will also have to find a place for a few of the women in the medical tent, the younger ones believe they are helping preserve a bloodline, but the older ones are living incubators, the doctors have found little to no brain activity beyond autonomic functions like their heart beating or breathing, only two respond to stimulus but they only chew and swallow food or drinks," Hermione told him after opened his eyes.
"Right, I am thinking SGC for those few and see if the ones that can take care of themselves will go with the other students or to another location, " he said squeezing her hand softly.
They lay or stood there in silence for a few minutes until the door opened to reveal Harriet, who ran and jumped up on the bed and hugged him softly, sobbing; Marcus pulled his hands free and hugged her, "Don't leave me," she whispered into his chest over and over.
Marcus looked at Hermione who gave a sad smile, "I'll be fine," he spoke softly while rubbing Harriet's back.
They lay there like that for a while with him reassuring her that he was ok and wasn't going anywhere.
"Umm, she came down to the living room looking for you, and when we said you were here, she ran in," Sally said from the doorway.
"It's fine. She's not used to people caring for her, and when we took her in, she quickly grew attached to us," Hermione told her, "Has the doctor seen you or the other two yet?"
"No, we've just been watching TV," Sally said while walking further into the room with the others on her heels.
"Let the doctor do some check-ups on you to make sure everything is okay with you and the babies, " Hermione told them while hiding the fact that they were being forced to carry the children because of lies had severely angered her.
The three nodded, then, with the help of the doctor, climbed onto a bed to let him scan them, starting from the top of their heads and working his way to their feet.
"All three of you are perfectly healthy other than being a little too immature in a physical means to be carrying the babies, you all will need a cesarean section to safely deliver," he told them then looked over the more in-depth examination on the fetuses, "I can also tell you that father is the same person I must tell you that I cannot tell you who it is right now unless you wish the other's to know this privet information," he finished.
The three girls looked at each other. The other two nodded to Sally, telling her that she was their spokesperson, " We were told that the father is Harry Potter, I told him while we were still at Hogwarts." she told the doctor, who nodded, confirming that it was.
Hermione looked at them and then at Marcus, who was still trying to calm Harriet, "Doctor, do not tell Harry unless they want him to know; we are sure that he was unaware this had been done, " the girls hung their heads at her words.
"The headmaster told us that he picked us to have his children to ensure his family would not die out if something happened to him during his time at the school," Sally said while fighting tears the other two were doing the same.
Hermione felt Marcus nudge her hip, when she looked to him she found him gesturing her to go comfort them, nodding she stepped over to the beds and lifted the two over to the bed with Sally, immediately they hugged each other, she then wrapped her arms around them as they cried.
"It'll be alright girls, I won't tell you what to do but if you three stay with the group its going to come out when the children grow up and their features start showing some of his," she told them as they sat there crying silently.
After that they sat there silently as the girls calmed down which took nearly ten minutes by which time they had all fallen asleep in her arms, with the help of the doctor they lay the girls on the bed that they had expanded to hold them.
"Keep an eye on them, and let us know when they wake up," Hermione told the doctor as she covered the sleeping girls with a thin blanket.
"Yes, this is the best place for them in their condition, this is a delicate stage for the pregnancies," the doctor answered while waving his scanner over the three.
Marcus had stood from the bed holding Harriet in his arms as she had latched onto him in a vice-like grip around his neck with her arms and her legs around his waist.
"Right let's go see what the students choose to do," he said while walking to the door, Hermione following him.
Walking through the house Hermione stopped to turn off the TV before continuing out of the house to find Harry and his small group walking up to the house with the older students coming up to the house.
The two groups came together, " We've decided to go to Disney, we feel that it would be best over the other two, " the earlier spokesman told them as they came together.
Marcus shrugged then looked to Hermione, "I'll make a call to set up a meeting with someone to get your group a place which shouldn't be much trouble with the tents," he said then turned to Harry.
"We," he pointed to his Hermione and Celeste, "Want to go to where that other me is," Harry told them with Hermione and Celeste nodding.
Older Hermione lifted her bracer as it started beeping with the latest report from the drones, "Umm, this is odd; the drones are finished with a complete scan of the island and are finding that the plant life is returning at a high rate of," she told them as she read the report.
Marcus looked at Hermione with confusion on his face, "Are they picking up anything that could do this?" he asked trying to lean over to see the screen.
Hermione tapped a few icons on the bracer then looked up sharply, " It was a terraforming device, those plasma waves were meant to destroy microscopic life on low oxygen planetary bodies, as a container filled with seeds was held safely out of phase, these containers were what formed the shield that held the plasma back from running wild and destroying the atmosphere, it was all automated and once started it was unstoppable, the drones have interfaced with the containers, they are simple thing's following their program, from the records, found those things were from an Earth in the year twenty three fifty-five and they were supposed to be on Mars, " she trailed off as the realization that this was an accident filtered through her mind.
Marcus looked at the other's as they listened only young Hermione didn't seem to be confused, " So in a few weeks the island will be turned into grasslands and forest?" he asked while trying to remember if he had seen or read something like this from fiction.
Hermione finished reading the read, "The drones have begun deep-level scans into the soil and for underground structures but I'm not sure what will be found other than the Underground and its lowest set of tracks," she informed him as she typed out a few commands, "They didn't have many deep tracks mostly in London, it's also looking for Grigotts but the chances that many of the goblins surviving the heat and or vacuum the plasma wave created in burning the oxygen," she finished explaining before closing the screen.
Marcus nodded, " If any survived we'll try to contact them and see if they will need anything but I doubt it, that if they were even there," he said while focusing on the gate, "Shut it down and we'll get theses guys to Disney, then come back to search for survivors," he said after a moment's thought.
Hermione nodded, then opened the screen up to order the reports until they returned, "The drones will finish, then let us know what they find when we return." she said, then remotely shut down the gate.
Marcus turned to the group, "Go ahead and tell whoever is going to Disney to be ready, I will know more in a little while but I doubt they'll turn you away," he told them then looked at Celeste, "Where you are going has another Harry about nine or ten years old he's been adopted by a family there don't go acting like he is your responsibility, help him learn sure but he is a different Harry Potter and has already started settling in with them." he warned her.
Celeste nodded, "I'll try," she said while looking lost in thought for a few seconds.
They walked down to the gate; Marcus focused on opening it near L.A. to be closer to Disney, then tapping his bracer, he opened the communication function to call Samuel.
'Yes?' Came Samuel's question after a few seconds.
"We ran into a problem in Hogwarts," Marcus told him, then went on to explain what he found at the school and what they needed.
'I'm sorry to hear that; I was hoping to be able to go there just to see the place; listen, I'm with a guide right now; this place is huge, so I think they can take in the kid,s, but what about the others?'
"If they have a facility that can house them or at least put the medical tent we've set up for them, we can bring them along with the kids, each of the kids has a personal tent so housing won't be a problem," Marcus said while trying to locate the signals origin point to move the portal to Disney but it kept changing.
'Alright, my guide is sending a message to their governing council, she said give it an hour or two.'
"Okay we have a few who want to go to live in Sunnydale, we'll take them over there while we wait to hear from you," Marcus answered then looked over the crowd that gathered around them, "We have about seventy people here," he then spotted a little blonde girl edging her way over to Harry and Hermione's group and smiled, "Let me know when they reach a decision."
'Will do,' Samuel said then closed the connection.
Turning to fully face the group he called out, "Alright we'll know in an hour or so what they can do for you, try and be ready to move if they can take you in if they can't we'll try the next place," he told them then walked to join Harry Hermione and Celeste along with their newest companion, "Luna Lovegood, how can we help you," he asked the silver eyed young girl.
"I want to join Harry Potter and Hermione Granger when you take them to the other Harry Potter," the little blonde said with a sing-song voice, her eyes focusing on something to his left.
"That's fine, it's your choice, " he told her with a smile.
Hermione looked at him confused; he shook his head, indicating that he would explain later, " You guys go ahead and pack your things, and we'll get you set up in Sunnydale."
The four nodded, then walked to the tents they had been given; after retrieving their pets and the elves that had bonded to them, collapsing them and putting them into backpacks they had the replicators make.
Marcus and Hermione went to the gate and recalled the drones; when the last came through, Marcus moved the opening to be just outside Sunnydale, and then he opened a channel to call Giles.
'Yes?' came Giles' voice after a few seconds.
"Hey Giles, it's Marcus; we have four refugees wanting to move to your town, three children and one adult. I'm just calling to let you know we're about to open a portal in the library. I also think Joyce should be there."
'That is fine,' came the reply.
"Alright, we'll be there in a few seconds, " Marcus said, then closed the call and moved the portal to the wall he previously used, he found the four and Hermione and Harriet walking to the gate and through.
Following them through, he found Buffy and her friends greeting the newcomers; the younger Harry was looking at the older one confused until Luna bounced over to him and began looking him over in her way when she took his hand and then licked it then nodded as she let him go.
"Right, everyone meet Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Celeste Black, and Luna Lovegood," he introduced the new arrivals, pointing to each person, "Luna dear, please don't scare the young man," Marcus told the blonde, who was now hugging the startled boy.
"Ohh poo, but he is much more cuddly looking than the one I came here with, " Luna pouted even as she let go, her eyes more focused than they were earlier.
"Joyce, will you be able to take Luna in? She has a personal tent, so you won't have to worry about her taking up much space," Marcus said while noting that Luna had taken the boy's hand.
Joyce nodded, "That's fine. We have an extra room at our place," she said, noticing that the girl seemed to want to be with her newly adopted son.
"Good now we'll need to find a place for these three," he said indicating the rest, "plus there may be three others coming here as well but they were asleep when we left the house," he finished before sitting on a chair taking Harriet from his Hermione and putting her on his knees.
"There are a few houses on my street that were up for sale before this happened and we are still finding more who's people weren't brought over," Joyce told them.
Older Hermione spoke up here, "These three are in a delicate situation and will need someone to be with them. We'll get to that later, though; we're not sure where they will end up going."
"Joyce, can you take everyone to check out the house?" Marcus asked while he started playing with Harriet's hair.
She nodded then led the four and her Harry out of the library, when they were gone he looked at the rest of the people in the room, "Pay attention to Luna, if she says something odd she may be speaking about the future or, the best indicator is that she is focused on a person if it's not she'll be looking off into nothing, but the most important thing is that she is an extremely intelligent person, if she had been born in the mundane world she would have made pre Halloween Willow look like a kindergarten student."
"What do you mean if she had been born in the mundane world?" Buffy asked while Willow pouted hearing that there was a girl who was possibly smarter than she was before Halloween.
"She was born to a wizarding family, and they shunned the nonmagical world mostly from ignorance but others hated anything nonmagical, most of their community where stuck in the eighteenth century in their way of life, give Luna a few months and she'll have caught up on the modern world if it catches her interest," Hermione told them while swatting Marcus' hand when he started trying to braid Harriet's hair and doing poorly.
"What of the other three?" Giles asked taking notes for reference.
"Harry and Hermione should do fine with a little time they were born or raised in the mundane world, Hermione is intelligent but has a hard time not believing that everything written down is completely true, she'll grow out of it with help, Harry is also intelligent but just like your Harry he'll need encouragement to do well, the people he was living with would punish him for doing well in anything at school," Marcus said while trying to see if he could give Harriet a frizzy hair do but Hermione keep smoothing it out with spells.
"Will we need to have a counselor speak with them?" Giles asked after finishing writing.
Hermione shook her head, "The tents have a teaching function; they can also act as one while they teach their lessons."
Marcus looked at Xander, who was leaning against the wall behind Cordelia; he nodded, indicating that he would talk to the boys after realizing Marcus knew about his childhood.
"Fair warning those two boys are very powerful, Hermione and Luna are not far behind them, while they are emotionally stunted they still can feel emotional responses, when they do hope you aren't the one to cause it, do not try to force Hermione away from the older one, she is the first to show him any kindness and will be his strongest anchor, and if I read it right Luna will be the same for the younger, Giles and Xander be the father figure and big brother they will need, girls, be the sisters, Joyce is already planning on taking the mothering role," Hermione told them while looking at each of them seriously.
"Now onto the three that may be coming" here Marcus sighed, " they're twelve and thirteen years old and were artificially insemidated with Harry's spirm and their eggs, they are about three months along, we haven't told him yet, they don't know how he will take it and are understandably scared after learning he didn't know it had been done," he said while letting his arm drop tohug Harriet.
"If they do come to live here they'll need a home, they will also have tents but they can't be left alone given their conditions between the hormones plus the possible health issues with their carrying the babies to full-term, make sure they always have a tent on or near them, the holographic medical rooms and the doctors should be able to ensure they deliver," Hermione told them.
The group were stunned, "My house has plenty of room, right now I'm alone neither of my parents or housekeeper came over," Cordelia spoke up, " I've been thinking of offering a few of the homeless teen girls a room."
Hermione nodded, "If they decide to come to live here, we'll let them know and bring them to you," she told the former cheerleader.
Suddenly Marcus' bracer beeped, "Yeah?" he asked once he opened the communication.
'The council has agreed to take in the kids, if you can come to my current location they'll open the way for the kids,' Samuel let him know.
"Alright give me a few minutes to get them ready, do they have room for the ones we have in medical?"
'Yeah they do and they also have a few psychics that may be able to help them return to reality,' came the answer.
Marcus looked to Hermione who nodded then went to the portal and stuck her head through it to tell the kids to pack up that they had a place to go to, but they were already packed and waiting.
