After the ceremony, the tribe were heading back to their village doing their own thing. Chieftess Tanana, Denahi, Kenai, Koda, Nava, Comet, and Daylight remained at the mountain and gathered since the elder pony had something to tell the two foals. She was proud of Kenai for making up the past mistake while staying with Koda as a bear since he turned the concept of love and Denahi became the new chief after fully embracing his wolf totem.
"Comet, Daylight, the Great Spirits were very pleased to hear of Kenai making up for his wrongdoings after making the journey to see Sitka." Chieftess Tanana said. "Your family would be very proud."
Comet and Daylight responds with a smile on their faces, but with a tear trickling down to their cheeks, remembering of their birth parents.
"With Denahi now as a new chief, I'm afraid he'll remain here with our tribe. And you two are always welcome among our tribe." Chieftess Tanana said.
Denahi smiled at that, since he and his brother were able to get to know the two foals during their time with them, they were hoping for Comet and Daylight to stay.
"With all due respect, Chieftess Tanana, I think we've been away from home long enough." Comet told her with a smile which they can understand about it.
"Then, take this." Chieftess Tanana said, given the two foals a wolf totem. "For your totems of Wisdom. So, your family will know what you have done for us. And the Great Spirits will know what you have done for your ancestors."
And with that, both Comet and Daylight jumps on to her and hugs her which the elder pony hugs them in return. Denahi, Kenai, Nava, and Koda smiled at that site as the three breaks the hug. The two foals then talk towards Denahi, then hugs while Kenai gives them a bear hug and lifting them up. Kenai then puts them down and the two foals hugs Koda since they're leaving soon. However, a bear cub doesn't want them to leave, but both Comet and Daylight had a home to return since they've been away for months after helping the wolves leading the icy path to the herd of caribou and helping Kenai get to the Mountain Where the Light Touches the Earth in order for him to make up his wrongdoing.
Nava approaches the two foals since he'll be helping them guide.
"I will guide you both, but you'll have to head home the rest of the way." Nava told them as Comet and Daylight nods with an understanding.
And soon, both Comet and Daylight said their goodbye to them as they're following Nava while the eagle watches over them at the trees, seeing the elder wolf and the two foals leaving the village.

After they left the village after saying their farewell to Chieftess Tanana and her tribe, Kenai, and Koda, Nava, Comet, and Daylight are making their journey through the forest and the woodland animals were watching them walking their way back to the Crystal Empire. They stop for a break by eating berries from the bushes while Nava got his fresh meat, eating it. Then that night after continuing to move further, Comet, Daylight, and Nava were making camp to call for the night which they're sleeping while staying warm.
The next day, they're continuing on through the forest and seeing the view of the mountain next to the sea which is where the wolves use to live, remembering the wolf pack leaving their land and heading the ice path that leads to the caribou, but Niju is left stranded and alone because he's afraid of change. Comet and Daylight couldn't help but felt sad that Aleu had to lead the wolves after they made a friend with her and the pack. Nava smiled sadly, seeing the two foals misses her which he can understand that.
They then head up to the mountains which the two foals are starting to grow tired, climbing up to the path and Nava helping them by biting their back of the necks and putting them down to the ledge. They continued on the path while the horizon started to set, and they noticed that it's getting close to nightfall, decided to call it a day and heading inside of the cave to get some sleep. Comet and Daylight begins to shiver from the cold, trying to warm themselves up as Nava lays next to them and sharing his warmth to the two foals and wrapping his tail around them. Unknown to them, Princess Luna is watching from the night sky with a smile on her face, seeing the two foals are finally coming home.
The next day, Nava and the two foals are out of the cave, continued to journey through the mountain while treading towards the carefully and trying their best not to fall. Sitka flew above them and watching them climbing down to the mountain. Nava turns his head and notices an eagle flying above them at the sky, seeing that the bird of prey is watching them as he continued to follow the foals. Daylight almost lost her balance, trying to hold on when Nava grabs her back of the neck as he holds on to her while Comet checks his sister to make sure she's okay.
After a few long hours of climbing, they were able to get out of the mountain and they're now making their journey through the forest. They saw a river and the sun begins to set as they decided to take a break, drinking the water and eating what was left of the berries while Nava had his fresh meat he'd been hunting. Comet and Daylight made the fire while gathering some berries from the bushes, decided to call it a night as they decided to get some sleep. Princess Luna revealed herself, watching them with a smile.
"I'll be seeing you two soon, Comet, Daylight." Princess Luna said quietly. "I'm very proud of you both."
Princess Luna then uses her magic to teleport without waking them up.
On the next day, they're now continuing to head through the forest since Comet and Daylight remembered the path that will lead them to the Crystal Empire. Nava stops when the two foals turned to him.
"This is far as I can go." Nava said. "You two will have to go on your own."
Comet and Daylight nods with an understanding.
"What will you do now, Nava?" Comet asks.
"I'll keep on looking for Niju. He's still stranded on this land, but he's still part of my clan." Nava told him. "But Comet, Daylight, you two will have to focus on your own lives since your journey is complete. The spirits are expecting great things from you and maybe, you two would make great leaders of your clan."
"Thank you, Nava." Daylight said with a smile. "For everything."
"No, thank you." Nava said with a smile of his own. "Take care of yourselves and may the spirits watch over you."
And with that, Nava then left the forest, leaving the two foals alone as they continued on their journey to the Crystal Empire on their own.

Now at the snow fields, both Comet and Daylight were out of the forest and they're now at the field of snow which they recognize the area, knowing where they are. Daylight looks at the Crystal Empire which made her gasp.
"Comet, look! We made it!" Daylight said happily as she and Comet looked at the Crystal Empire in a far distance.
"We're home." Comet said with a smile on his face. "I just hope Aunt Cadence and Uncle Shining aren't too mad about this."
"They'll understand, Comet." Daylight replied to her brother. "Come on, let's go home."
Comet nods as he and Daylight race to the Crystal Empire to meet up with Princess Cadence and Shining Armor.
While at the Crystal Empire, Shining Armor watches over and hoping for the guards to find the two foals which apparently, neither of them have any luck at all. Princess Cadence is still in her room, feeling sad for the foals running away without them, Twilight, or their friends. She kept thinking about them and hoping for the two foals to get home safely. But she heard a cawing sound, causing her to turn to see an eagle perching and looking at her which left her confused. The eagle cawed, flying right to her and gestured her to follow him. Princess Cadence then uses her wings to fly out of the castle, following the eagle. Shining Armor turns his head and saw his wife following the eagle, leaving him confused as he follows them.
Princess Cadence kept following the eagle in the sky, hoping it would lead her to Comet and Daylight since she hasn't heard from them for months. But luck turns out, she looks down and saw Comet and Daylight racing down to Crystal Empire which made her gasp in shock as she lands in front of the two foals. Shining Armor was able to catch up to her, about to ask when he turned and saw the two foals covered in fur pelt. Comet and Daylight looks at them, pulling their hoods down to reveal their faces with smiles on their faces which made Princess Cadence and Shining Armor widen their eyes, shock in disbelief.
However, both Princess Cadence and Shining Armor begins to shed in tears, seeing Comet and Daylight finally returned to Crystal Empire after all a long last few months. Of course, Comet and Daylight can tell they're very glad they were able to return home, but they want an explanation.
"Uncle Shining, Aunt Cadence." Comet and Daylight said which made them smiled.
"COMET, DAYLIGHT!" Princess Cadence and Shining Armor cried in joy, running to the foals as Comet and Daylight did the same.
Comet and Daylight then leaps right into them which made Princess Cadence and Shining Armor held their arms, catching the two foals as they embraced each other which earned the Crystal ponies attention when they turned and saw the sight of the four ponies hugging.
"Comet, Daylight, you're back!" Shining Armor said happily.
"We've missed you so much!" Princess Cadence adds, nuzzling her nephew in the forehead while crying.
Comet and Daylight respond in silent with a smile on their faces, glad to be back home. The Crystal ponies smiled at the heartwarming sight as they broke their hug, taking the two foals inside of the castle since they need a bath, something to eat, and a long rest after their long journey.
Few hours later, Princess Cadence went out of the room after given the two foals a bath and taking them to the bed. Shining Armor and Princess Cadence watches them sleeping while embracing each other in one bed, seeing that their bond is much stronger.
"These two really had us worried for running away, and now, here they are, returned home after the past months." Shining Armor said, then noticed two wolf totems. "And it looks like they passed the trial."
"They sure did, and I'm very proud of them." Princess Cadence agrees with a smile. "And I know they've got stories to share when Twilight and the others arrived."
"Which reminds me, we should send them a message of their return." Shining Armor suggests, turning to his wife.
"Yes, but not tonight." Princess Cadence nods. "We'll do it tomorrow."
Shining Armor nods in agreement, but it got him confused as he watches Princess Cadence entered their room, getting on to the bed and hugs Comet with warm smile. He then smiled, seeing that his wife really needed this as he decided join in, getting on the bed and hugs Daylight. They're now drifted to sleep with a loving embrace which Comet and Daylight smiled in their sleep.
Back at Ponyville, Twilight is sitting on a bench with a sad look on her face. She still felt sad for her kids running away without her and she refuses to work at the library which made her friends worried, even Spike. She also kept on crying her tears out after looking at the photos of her children, calling out their names and hoping for them to return home.
The sound of footsteps was heard as Spike ran to Twilight Sparkle with a scroll on his claw.
"Spike, please, I need to be alone right now." Twilight said sadly.
"But Twilight, it's Princess Cadence. She got news about Comet and Daylight." Spike told her, showing the scroll.
Twilight then turned her attention to the scroll, using her magic to grab it and opens it as she reads it.
'Twilight Sparkle
Comet Stardust and Daylight Savings are at the Crystal Empire. They're home! Gather your friends, I've already bought all of you tickets for an express to Crystal Empire.
Princess Cadence'
After she finished reading the scroll, Twilight starts to smile, and tears began to fill in joy. She finally gets to see her kids after so long and now, they're with Princess Cadence and Shining Armor at the Crystal Empire.
"Spike, gather our friends. We're going to the Crystal Empire." Twilight told him, which he nods as he ran out to gather the others and get them to meet up at the train station.
Few minutes later, Twilight is waiting her friends to arrive at the train station. She felt excited to see her kids and hoping that she gets an explanation since they're gonna have quite a story for their journey.
Spike arrived with Mario, Silver Spoon, Kronk, the CMCs, the 6 foals, and 5 mares at the train station after they've heard from him about Comet and Daylight at the Crystal Empire.
"Twi, is it true? Are they really here at the Crystal Empire?" Applejack asks, hoping it's true.
"Yes, they're resting at the Crystal Empire." Twilight nods with a smile which made them shock. "After so long, Comet and Daylight ran away in order to make their own journey to help the wolves. And now, they're finally home."
"And it'll be awesome if they can tell us about their journey, too." Rainbow Dash said. "I couldn't wait for them to hear about it."
"And I can't wait to make a 'Welcome Back' party!" Pinkie Pie adds, firing her party cannon.
"Let's hope they're not too harsh on them. They've been through a long journey." Mario said with worry.
Then, the train whistle blows, signaling that it's time to leave as they head inside of the train. The door closes and begins to move to the Crystal Empire.
"Oh, they're not. They're just glad and relieve of their return." Twilight told him as they sat on the seats at the passenger car. "Also, Comet and Daylight is probably glad to be back in the Crystal Empire."
"Oh, I bet." Storm Hawk said. "'Cause they've been gone for a couple of months."
"I'm just hoping they're okay." Fluttershy said with worry. "Things weren't the same without them ever since you've stayed at the library on your own."
Twilight looks down in shame, felt terrible for worrying her friends. Even though, they were trying to help by giving her comfort and support, but Twilight just wanted to be alone. It didn't help when she's crying at the library or sitting on a bench alone. Mario wraps his hoof around her shoulder, earned her attention as he hugs her which Twilight hugs him since she needed this.

It took a while, but they made it to the Crystal Empire. Twilight and the others arrived at the train station, then head towards the Crystal Empire to meet up with Princess Cadence and Shining Armor along with the two foals. They're walking along a broad avenue and proceeding toward the castle, which it got them noticed Princess Cadence and Shining Armor listening to Comet and Daylight's stories about their journey.
"Wait, is that..." Rose Lotus said with her eyes widen.
Twilight narrowed her eyes, looks at the foals and it made her gasp when she saw her kids talking to Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. It got her eyes filled in tears with a smile on her face.
"It is...They're home." Fluttershy said, sniffled in tears with a smile.
"It really is a miracle." Rose Lotus adds.
"Yeah, that's one thing I'll forgive them for not letting us come with them." Storm Hawk said, causing Rainbow Dash and Applejack to chuckle.
"Yeah." Apple Shine agrees with a chuckle as well.
"Does that mean their journey is over?" Winter Breeze asks.
"Well, they made it back in one piece, that's for sure." Golden Breeze answered.
"Eeyup, and I'd say that qualifies." Applejack nods.
Mario then walks to his marefriend, earned her attention as he gestured Twilight to go to them. Twilight then turns to her kids, sniffled in tears as she wipes her eyes.
"Comet! Daylight!" Twilight called them, earned their attention as she runs to her foals.
Comet and Daylight turns and saw their mother running to them, as they ran to her.
"Mom!" Comet and Daylight cried joyfully.
"Comet! Daylight!" Twilight said in joy, then grabs her kids and hugs them while Comet and Daylight did the same.
The 5 mares, the CMCs, the 7 foals, Silver Spoon, Mario, Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, and Kronk are watching Twilight hugging her kids which made them smile in tears. After a long few months of their journey, Twilight, Comet, and Daylight are reunited at last. They then break the hug as they look at each other.
"Mom, we're sorry." Daylight said with an apology.
"It's okay. What matters is you and your brother are home." Twilight told her but noticed her daughter's flank. "Daylight, look at your flank."
Daylight is confused but turns to her flank and saw a cutie mark which made her shocked.
Her cutie mark has a six-pointed stars with a wolf howling at the moon.
"I...I've got a cutie mark." Daylight said which made Twilight hugging her and her son.
"I'm so proud of you both." Twilight said as her friends walk to them.
"Hey, c'mon on now, it can wait. We wanna hear their adventure." Applejack told her, which it got their attention.
"And I've got a party to plan when we get back." Pinkie Pie adds which made them chuckled a bit.
"Why don't we head inside so all of us can hear about their journey." Princess Cadence suggested as they followed her to the castle.

And after a few hours later, Comet and Daylight told them their story about their journey. They told them how they met Balto at the forest, being tricked by a fox at the river, facing their fears after facing the wolverines at the mountains, meeting Aleu and facing three wolves, including Niju at the edge of the sea, how they met Nava and the wolf pack while try to get Niju to pass, which he refuse and it made the orca spouts water at him. Though, Rainbow Dash and the others laughed at that. They also told them that they had to help the wolves leading the ice path that leads to the herd of caribou.
Then, they also told them about their stay at the village during the winter season and how they met Chieftess Tanana, Kenai, Denahi, and Sitka. They also told them about Kenai's ceremony, how Sitka died and Kenai killed the bear which he's been punished by turned into a bear by the Great Spirits and his brother, how they met Koda, Rutt, and Tuke, making their journey to the Mountain Where the Light Touches the Earth after making friends with Tug and the bear pack, and making Denahi realize that he's actually tried to kill Kenai for vengeance and not realizing that he's killing his brother.
After a long story, they were completely stunned and awed at Comet and Daylight's journey. They never thought that the two foals made a long incredible journey on their own.
"And after this, Denahi became the new chief of his tribe and Kenai stayed with Koda to make up his wrongdoings. He began to finally understand the concept of love." Comet said, finishing the story.
"Whoa, didn't think y'all had quite an adventure." Applejack said.
"Not only that, but you also had a cutie mark." Scootaloo adds, looking at Daylight's flank. "How did you get it?"
"Well, I didn't pay attention to it since it never came up." Daylight answered.
"So, what happen to Nava after you left the village?" Shining Armor asks. "We wanted to thank him."
"He's still searching for Niju." Comet answered. "We know where he's heading since he's now stranded and alone on this land."
Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes at that, wondering why the elder wolf is looking for him after what she and the others have been told about the black wolf and his behavior.
"While Niju may be stubborn and not afraid to die, but he's still part of Nava's clan. We all have to respect his decision." Daylight told them, which they can understand.
They all decided to call it a night since it's getting a bit late, and Princess Cadence and Shining Armor showed them to their guest rooms for them to stay for the night. Twilight stayed at her room with her children, who's looking at the starry night sky as she walks to her kids.
"Are you okay?" Twilight asks, earned their attention. "Still thinking about Nava?"
"That, and Aleu." Daylight said. "We've only been friends with her, and it's hard to see her leave with the wolf pack."
Twilight can understand what she's telling her about Aleu becoming a new leader of the wolf pack.
"I'm sure you two and Aleu will meet again." Twilight said to her kids. "But Comet, Daylight, all that matters is you're home."
Comet and Daylight then smiled, then hugs their mother since they've been away and now, they're finally home.
