I'm SOOOO sorry for the delay on this one, guys! The reason why is because I got stuck on how to resolve this battle. But now that I've figured it out, I plan to resolve this story-arc as planned and FINALLY get to the second Infinity Stone Badge/Affection Ribbon challenges. Episode 109: The Menace of Magneto (Part 2)!
"What's happening?" Peter said, terrified by the sight of Rikoshay, Capmer, and Noirspi floating helplessly in the air above the walkway.
"It's Magneto's Magnet Ray," MJ explained. "The attack causes anything metallic to be controlled by Magneto."
"But what could our Marémon have that's metallic?"
"Think about it," Remy said. "Capmer's shield shell is made of Vibranium, a type of metal. The explosive pellets in Noirspi's forelegs have metallic properties, and Rikoshay—
"Has metallic discs, we get the point," Erik interrupted. "Now unless you want your Marémon to fall to their deaths in the Cerebro Chamber, I suggest you call them back to your PDBs and walk away."
Reluctantly, Peter and MJ did as Magneto asked and returned Rikoshay and Noirspi back to their PDBs. Meanwhile, Steve got up and leaped towards Capmer. Steve then grabbed Capmer's shell with his free hands as Capmer swung him toward Magneto where he kicked Magneto's eye causing the Marémon to become disoriented.
"You Super Soldiers are such a pain," Erik remarked, waving his hand at Capmer which caused him to pin Steve onto the surface of Magneto's head. "Always fighting till the bitter end."
"At least we don't give up," Steve said as he freed his arms from Spidermin's webs while still pinned to Magneto.
"We have to do something," Peter whispered to Remy, who was deep in concentration.
"Don't worry, I have a plan," Remy assured. "Gambug, Kinetic Charge Spidermin and Magneto at the same time!"
The bug-like Gambug shot more card-shaped projectiles with some flying towards Spidermin and the rest heading for Magneto. But while the card projectiles exploded upon hitting Spidermin, the ones that stuck to Magneto didn't.
"Looks like your charge had a delayed reaction on my Magneto," Erik remarked.
"That's the idea," Remy smirked. "With the Delayed Charge Ability, my Gambug can explode his card-shaped projectiles whenever he wants to."
Realizing what that meant, Erik reached for his PDB. But he was too late as the card-shaped projectiles exploded on Magneto's body causing him to let go of Capmer as he fell off along with Steve. Though before they fell into the depths of the Cerebro Chamber, Spidermin used Web Shot to save Capmer and Steve. Confused, Peter looked at Spidermin's eyes which no longer had the purple hue from being controlled by Psylocke.
"Spidermin, you're back!" Peter exclaimed before glancing at Remy. "How did you—
"Know using Kinetic Charge would break your Spidermin out of Psylocke's control?" Remy shrugged. "It was a lucky guess, honestly."
"Enough with the childish games!" shouted Ar-I, who was no longer disoriented from Rikoskay's Throwing Discs. "I'm going to Brainwash you all!"
"Not if I have anything to say about it," Peter said. "Hey, Spidermin? Remember that Synergy Attack we've been practicing?"
Immediately, Spidermin nodded as he placed his string of web against the platform allowing Steve and Capmer to get back up onto the platform.
"Well, I think it's time for us to use it." Peter then spread his legs apart and placed his middle and index fingers together while turning his hands upside down. "Synergy Attack: Web Barrage!"
From Peter's wrists emerged sticky webs while Spidermin did a series of Web Shots. Together, they aimed their webs at Ar-I causing him to become encased in so much webbing that he couldn't see where he was and fell onto the platform out of confusion. While the platform shook briefly, it didn't crumble underneath much to everyone's relief.
"You did it," MJ realized. "I can't believe you pulled off a Synergy Attack!"
"I know, I can't believe it either!" Peter said and looked at his wrists. "Looks like being a Mutant isn't so bad after all."
"Did you forget I was still here?" Erik said. "You may have incapacitated Magneto temporarily, but he's far from defeated!"
Just then, the X-Men came through the broken door led by Logan. He was followed by Jean, Scott, Ororo, and Hank. They were also accompanied by their Marémon which included the mongoose-like Wolvie, a red-and-yellow fox creature with nine feather-shaped tails, a blue-and-yellow dog with a red visor-like eye, the sheep-like Ewestrom, and a blue sloth-like creature.
"That's Phoevix, the Matured form of Kitmar," Peter realized, looking at the fox with the feather-shaped tails standing next to Jean. He then pointed to the dog with the visor-like eye and the blue sloth-like creature. "And those two are Cyhound and Beasti."
"You sure are a Marémon Nerd, Bub," Logan remarked before pointing at Erik. "We saw through Kraven's ruse of using Kamelio to pose as you and sent him packing. Then we got back and helped our students defeat Raven, Cain, and Victor. Now we're here to take you down!"
"How do you plan to do that, Logan?" Erik taunted. "Because your skeleton is covered in Adamantium, I could crush you to pieces if I wanted to."
"And I'm still here," Betsy said as the cat-like Psylocke moved to her side. "You're going to have to go through us first!"
"Easy," Jean said and raised her hands into the air. "Phoevix, Psychic Firebird!"
The red-and-yellow fox spread its feather-shaped tails wide and a firebird-like apparition emerged from them. It flew straight through Psylocke and Betsy, causing them to get knocked out, before flying through Professor Xavier and Proffix.
"Very clever, since your Synergy Attack causes mental and physical damage to the target," Erik said. "But if you were aiming for me, you missed!"
"No, Erik," Xavier said as he opened his eyes along with Proffix. "She deliberately hit me to wake me up. Now your time here is over! Proffix, Deprogram!"
