Welcome to the first ever crossover between Disgaea and Kuroinu. Don't ask why I made this. The idea just popped into my head and I couldn't get it to stop, so here it is. And since it's Disgaea, expect chaos, shenanigans, and some fourth wall abuse.
Also, Clergy is best boi. Come at me.
Disclaimer: I don't own Disgaea or Kuroinu.
Bellamy, an Anti-Messiah ranked Clergy, huffed frustratedly as he headed down the hall. "Come on, why'd we have to receive an emergency meeting? I wanted to spend time with you, Carmel!" He petulantly frowned, twirling his staff in irritation as his platinum blonde pigtails bounced with each step he took.
Next to him, an Audumbla ranked Evil Eye softly replied, "I wanted to spend time together too, but the announcement said that there's a dimensional anomaly nearby." Her blood red eyes peeked out from underneath blue bangs accompanied by messy ivory hair. Lowering her head to keep her horns from bumping into a nearby fixture, Carmel continued, "We have to investigate it since we don't know if it'll be a problem."
As the two entered the main hall, they joined the massive gathering of demons, finding open seats and silently waiting for the briefing to begin. Silently, Bellamy reached out his hand and placed it on Carmel's hoof, gently stroking it.
Up at the front, a demon walked up to the podium. He was of average height and had the typical pointed ears most humanoid demons had. With pale skin, piercing golden eyes with dark bags underneath, and wavy ash grey hair that went past his shoulders, he would have given off an intimidating aura if not for the fact he was wearing business casual clothing, and messily at that. His violet shirt was slightly wrinkled, his dark beige pants were a bit too long, and his brown loafers had visible scuffing.
Lips twitching in amusement, Bellamy whispered, "As usual, Lord Exousia isn't even trying to beat the allegations that Overlords can't dress up properly."
Coughing lightly, Exousia said, "Thanks for coming, everyone. As you are all aware, a dimensional anomaly has been detected in our Netherworld. Since I'm the Overlord of this Netherworld, that means the other Overlords stuck me in charge of the investigation." Running a hand through his hair, he concluded, "Long story short, we're opening the distortion and taking the Ebony Oleander through it to the other side."
Raising a hand, a Magic Knight called out, "But what if there's sapient life on the other side? Won't they misunderstand and see our arrival as an invasion?"
Nodding, Exousia explained, "I'm aware of that risk, which is why the stealth field will be activated. In addition, since the anomaly is in an area with high elevation, the Ebony Oleander will be switching to flight mode for this venture." As the hall erupted into a cacophony of groans and complaints, the Overlord snapped, "Oh, shut it! You idiots are the ones who wanted the Ebony Oleander to be a moving base like the one in Roar's Mobile Fortress, not to mention the spatial screwery thing from that show with a professor in a flying phone booth! Do you think you're the only ones who don't like it when everything shakes whenever the ship changes forms?!"
Resigned to whatever would come next, a Prinny asked, "Boss, I got a question, dood. Will it be staying in flight mode or changing to land mode on the other side?"
Exousia calmed down and replied, "With any luck, we can stay in flight mode, though we might change to land mode depending on what's on the other side."
Yawning, a Thief asked, "How long until the ship changes form?"
"Right now, actually," said Exousia. As if on cue, the entire room rumbled, causing everyone to shake as they tried to not fall out of their seats. Then they all felt as though they got heavier as the Ebony Oleander ascended into the sky.
When everyone recovered, an orc groaned, "Great, I was building some figurines when we were called here. Now I'll have to check my whole room for if any parts fell off my desk!"
"Go ahead," sighed Exousia. "Everyone's dismissed. It'll be a while before we go through, so finish up your business and get ready for the trip. I have to prepare all the paperwork for the expedition force in triplicate of all things." However, at this point, everyone had already returned to their personal quarters, effectively leaving the Overlord as the only one left in the hall.
An hour later, the intercom came to life. "Attention everyone, we are now entering the anomaly. Everyone is to prepare themselves, and the expedition team is expected to meet at the Dimension Operator's station. Have a hellish day."
At the station, Bellamy and Carmel stood to the side, hugging as they waited for the rest of the expedition team to show up. Kissing Carmel on the lips, Bellamy whispered, "I promise I'll stay safe. You know I will."
Frowning, Carmel responded, "I know, but we don't know anything about this realm. I'm scared that you'll get hurt."
Clomping over, a Heavy Knight laughed boisterously. "He'll be fine! I'm the team tank, so it's literally my job to take the hits!" Calming down, he continued, "Seriously though, it's good to see you two again."
Carmel took a deep breath and smiled. "Thanks, Massoke. Is your sister on the team too?"
"You bet I am!" shouted a Magic Knight as she joined the trio, running a hand through her lavender hair. "Rune Knight Sadie Yist, reporting for duty!" Licking her lips, she giggled, "I hope we get attacked by monsters. The best way to earn the trust of the locals would be doing some pest control."
"At least leave some for me so I can use them," called out a Beast Master as she leapt down from above, followed by a Mystic Beast. "If we don't find locals, then I can get the answers from the wildlife," she explained. "I'm Orion Siria, and this is Sirius." She gestured to the dark green wolf-like beast next to her. Pausing to sniff the air, she added, "Also, the rest are almost here."
"Hahahaha!" a laugh echoed through the air. A dark-skinned boy with light brown hair teleported into the area, clad in a military uniform along with a long flowing cape. "Hearken all, for I, the grea-"
"Shut up, Timmy," grunted a Sorcerer as she hopped off the bone dragon she was riding. As the beast left, she turned to the others. "I am Kiki Eyida, Purgatory Oracle. I am sorry for Timmy. He is very stupid."
"Hey!" complained Timmy. "I'm a Hauptmann! I deserve respect!"
"You only became Hauptmann last week, that is rank two," retorted Kiki. "I am Purgatory Oracle, soon be last rank Soul Invoker if I pass exam next month."
Refusing to back down, Timmy turned to the others. "And what of you lot?" he huffed, "Which of you are intelligent enough to recognize me for my greatness?"
"I'm a Rune Knight, one rank higher than you. Come back when you're four ranks higher than me, little boy," taunted Sadie. Honestly, that was a bit mean, telling him to reach rank seven if he wanted her to give him a chance. After all, there were only six ranks.
"I'm a Mythril Knight," grunted Massoke as he flexed his muscles… which had no effect due to them being concealed by his armor. Idiot. "Alright, who just thought I'm an idiot? I can tell when someone thinks that!"
"Orion Siria, Beast Queen," said the feral girl. "And Sirius is a Garm."
Finally, Bellamy simply smiled. "Anti-Messiah."
The revelation that he was the lowest-ranked demon in the team striking him, Timmy crumpled to the floor in defeat. "No…! This… this can't be!"
Sighing, Kiki asked, "How long to leave?"
"Right now, actually," said the Dimension Operator. "Any last-second things you want to do?"
Carmel quickly kissed Bellamy once more. "I'll be waiting," she said. "Come back safe." She headed back to her quarters, throwing one last look over her shoulders before leaving.
"Ollie, where are we getting dropped off?" asked Massoke. "I'd rather we didn't have to cash in on our health insurance right off the bat."
Inside the security booth, the Bouncer who worked as the Ebony Oleander's Dimension Operator chuckled in amusement. "Relax, don't get your chainmail undies in a twist. I'm not stupid," he said. "I found a good spot to drop you off. It's close to a settlement, but it's also far enough that nobody will see you being dropped off and you can get a basic read of the land on the way."
Clearing his throat, Bellamy announced, "Alright everyone, get ready!" As the portal came to life, they prepared themselves, tightening the grips on their equipment and travel packs. "Entering the new land in three, two, one, now!"
…
"The locals come here to hunt and forage, so we can expect to run into someone on the roads," observed Orion as she analyzed a nearby tree. "The ripe fruits have been plucked, and there are a few stray arrows in the bushes."
Looking down the road, Kiki grunted, "Town that way. Sense bad emotions. Fear. Anger. Hate. And… lust?"
Briskly heading in the direction the Sorcerer indicated, Massoke shouted, "There's no time to lose! A mix of those emotions means the town is probably under attack by bandits!"
Chasing the taller demon, Timmy added, "That's right. If we swoop in and put an end to the trouble, they shall be enamored with us and trust us! That'll make it easier for me to rise up the ranks!"
Without a moment's hesitation, the rest of the group chased after the two eager demons. They came to the sight of a town being attacked by an army of monsters. Fighting back was a platoon of women weari-
"Alright, what the hell are they wearing?!" shouted Sadie, interrupting the author. "Who the hell wears armor that only covers the buttons and tunnel of love?! Even our sexiest armors cover more and at least have defensive enchantments. Those chicks are literally just wearing unenchanted strips of metal!"
A shriek caught the group's attention. Looking to the source, their eyes widened when they saw a large green humanoid monster tearing at a woman's clothing. Lifting her up while ignoring her pleas for help and mercy, it whipped out its erect member, already lining up to penetrate.
Eyes ablaze with fury, Massoke shouted, "Oh no you don't!" Charging forwards, he thrust a hand forward and cast his favorite spell. "Powered Capture!"
The monster was in the act of thrusting when it floated up into the air. Blinking in confusion, it dropped the woman and wondering what was happening. Then its expression changed to shock as it turned around and suddenly shot towards the Mythril Knight. Realizing what was happening, it struggled to break free from the spell, only for the efforts to be proven futile.
"Take this!" roared Massoke, thrusting his chest forwards. Time slowed as the monster's penis approached his chest plate. And then a crunching sound resounded through the air as the erect phallus compressed like an accordion as it smashed against the demon's armor.
Howling in agony, the monster stumbled back, hands between its legs. As it waddled about, it bumped into its fellow monsters, trampling several small red-skinned imp-like beings underfoot. Before it could recover, Timmy waved his hand, causing a faint purple glow to encapsulate its head before it suddenly snapped at an unnatural angle.
"Let's do this!" shouted Sadie as she ran into battle, casting a hail of icicles while wildly swinging her blade. Cutting down monsters with each swing of her Emerald Sword, she made her way to the scantily clad knights. "My group's here to help!" she announced, "We were travelling on the road when we heard the noise!"
Cutting down another red-skinned monster, a knight wearing slightly more decorated armor than the others replied, "We are thankful for your assistance! What are your numbers and fighting styles?"
Sending forth a wave of flames that drove the monsters back, Sadie reported, "Including me, seven of us. Our group leader is a Clergy. The second-in-command is a Sorcerer. My brother's a knight who specializes in defending. There's also a Beast Master and her companion, as well as a Psychic. And I'm a Magic Knight, spellsword, swordmage, whatever your country calls it!"
"Less talking, more fighting!" snapped Orion as she decapitated a monster with her axe. Next to her, Sirius growled as he leapt into the air and tore out the throat of another green monster. "The sooner this is over, the better!"
Sighting as he cast another healing spell at Massoke, Bellamy shouted, "Massoke, for the love of everything out there, just because you're the team defender, it doesn't mean you need to let your enemies actually land a blow on you!" Suddenly, he leapt to the side, dodging another red-skinned monster.
Cackling malevolently, it taunted, "Oh, it's my lucky day! I get to have fun with a cutie like you." Drawing a sword, it continued, "And the best thing about this is that you're a magic user with a staff, meaning you're shit at physical combat!" It leapt towards Bellamy, aiming to slice the Clergy's weapon in two.
Bellamy stared as the monster got closer. "Yeah, there's just one problem." Getting into a batter's stance, he swung his weapon, the blade cutting into his opponent at the waist and bisecting it, sending the two halves crashing into the ground behind him. "It might look like one, but this isn't a staff." Twirling his Innocent Spear to flick the blood off, he sighed and muttered, "I really need to remind the others to not just run off and split up..."
Meanwhile, Timmy was on a nearby roof, firing his Evil .45 with pinpoint accuracy. Occasionally, he would use his psychic abilities to crush monsters that tried to get up to him, as well as redirect the arrows that were sent his way. "Come at me," he taunted, "for I shall have no mercy! The wrath of hell rains upon you, so despair with all your hear-"
"Shut up, Timmy," grunted Kiki as she threw curses left and right, unfazed as monsters collapsed to the ground as withered husks. "You too noisy. I can't focus." Her Crystal Rose Staff glowing brightly, she sent forth a wave of darkness that enveloped a group of the green-skinned monsters, reducing them to fits of coughs and wheezes as they felt their strength leaving their bodies.
Sadie swept in, quickly killing the fallen monsters. "And that's the last of them," she sighed as she looked around, taking note of how the others were finishing off the remaining monsters. "It looks like we should finally be able to talk."
As the expedition team and knights gathered, the lead knight stepped forth. "We are thankful for your assistance," she said. "May I ask who you a-" Her eyes landed on Massoke, Orion, Timmy, and Kiki. "Dark elves!" she shouted, drawing her sword quickly. But before she could attack, Bellamy pulled out his Innocent Spear as well, pointing it at her throat.
Frowning, the Clergy chided, "I'd appreciate it if you didn't attack my teammates. As Sadie said when she spoke to you, we aren't from this country, so don't expect us to know what's going on."
The knight commander scowled, but lowered her weapon. "Identify yourselves," she ordered, "Even if you helped protect this town, the fact you have dark elves in your group means you can't be trusted."
Sighing, Bellamy said, "Even if it's for the wrong reasons, it's good to see you have a sense of caution." Planting his spear firmly into the ground, he continued, "I'm Bellamy, a Clergy and the leader of our group."
Massoke rumbled, "Massoke the Thirteenth, Heavy Knight. First member of the Yist family to be bestowed mythril armor in over ten generations."
Leaning against him, Sadie cheerfully said, "I'm Sadie, this big guy's younger twin sister. Like I told you earlier, I do swords and magic."
Orion reluctantly said, "I'm Orion Siria, a Beast Master. And this is Sirius, my partner." Turning around and sticking out her rear, she snarled and added, "And for the record, do dark elves have this?" She flicked her tail, causing the knight to blush in embarrassment.
Kiki grunted, "Name is Kiki Eyida. I am Sorcerer." Looking the knight commander in the eye, she explained "Dark skin and pointy ears not always mean dark elf. You lucky it is common mistake for my people."
Before Timmy could introduce himself, likely in a way that would make diplomacy more difficult, Sadie interrupted and said, "And this is Timmy, our youngest and least experienced member. He's a Psychic." She ruffled the demon boy's hair, ignoring his protests.
Another knight blinked and asked, "Wait, you two are twins?" She looked back and forth between Massoke and Sadie. "But your skin tones are completely different!"
Holding back the wheeze of pain from emotional damage, Massoke incredulously asked, "Have none of you ever heard of a tan?"
"Ohhh..." sounded the knight. "I know about them, but I've never seen it for myself." Looking at Kiki and Timmy, she trailed off. "But still... What about them?"
Bellamy deicded to quickly step in. "Kiki isn't a dark elf either. In fact, she's more closely related to spirits than she is to elves. And-"
Having enough of being denied his moment to shine, Timmy boisterously declared, "Listen all, for I shall not repeat myself. I am the gre-"
"Shut up, Timmy!" snapped Kiki as she whacked the boy upside the head with her staff. "You get arrogant because you are sixteen and already Hauptmann when most Psychics become Hauptmann in twenties. But we all older. We all higher rank."
Trying to salvage the situation, Massoke interrupted, "We're an expedition team from our homeland. A magic anomaly was detected, so we were sent to investigate, and tracking the anomaly led to us arriving here. If you could, would you be so kind as to tell us about this country?"
Nodding in understanding, the knight captain sheathed her sword. "I apologize for the misunderstanding, travelers. Welcome to Eostia, the country ruled by Lady Celestine, High Queen and reincarnation of the Goddess."
Sighing, Bellamy lamented, "Well, that makes things complicated."
For reference, the Ebony Oleander looks like a cruise ship by default. Except, you know, instead of all sorts of recreational facilities, it's a full-fledged community with commercial districts and business districts, restaurants and open-air cafes, farms, factories, gardens and parks, and so on. Of course, the pool at the top of the cruise ship is still there.
The form changes are as follows:
Default land form – EO's length compresses to become shorter, hull changes from dep vee to flat, grows four mechanical legs to travel
Alternate land form – same as before, but with treads/tires instead of legs depending on terrain
Flight form – hull changes from deep vee to shallow vee, sweptback wings sprout from sides, holes in back and bottom open to reveal thrusters
Sea form – literally just a cruise ship
