Kadic
Once he saw the pink haired boy that reminded him of one of his friends hair left. With a slap to the left and a wham to the right. The skateboards seem to be growing weaker. The boards are beginning to chip more and more as Odd deflects them away, only getting hit once or twice. Odd patted his side pocket on his pants to make sure the item was still in its place. He felt nothing, when he looked down, he realized that there was a tear in his pants. Likely from the skateboards lodging attack at him.
Odd looks around the floor to find this object he needed to protect. He spots it on a skateboard making its way towards a power outlet. Odd without a moment's hesitation, jumps onto a sentient skateboard and forces his way through the waves of skateboards coming at him. Once he reaches the skateboard holding the object, he does a quick front cartwheel over the skateboard, when he was halfway through the cartwheel above the skateboard, he snags the object and interrupts his cartwheel, using the arm that's planted on the ground, pushes him backwards and lands on his feet. He opens his hand to examine the object in his hand. It was a simple red flash drive. It had a program to create a sandbox type environment hidden away from XANA, to give Jeremy complete access to the super computer when he needs to be, as well as a backup connection in case XANA cuts his connection.
Odd knew he needed to make his way to the factory to get Jeremy access. With the current distraction, now is the time as any. He needed to avoid Martin on his way to the factory, so Odd needs to take a longer way around. Odd dashes through the double doors, across campus and into the forest. Odd reminisced on his memories of Kadic. All the fun he had, all the sad times he had. But overall, it was an experience he was never going to forget, he used those memories to find his way towards the sewer grate he and his friends used to get to and from the factory. It was a lot easier to lift now as an adult, it was still extremely heavy but to pull it towards the side was easier. Once he climbed into the hole in the ground where the sewer grate once rested guarding the sewers, he grabbed the sewer grate to bring it over his head sealing off the sewer.
As he dropped to the ground, he found the skateboard and scooters left there from years of neglect. Odd thought for a second, he should bring them back and souvenirs, but scratched that idea as its going to be a good idea to leave these for the new lyoko warriors, they will need them. But in this current attack, he is in need of them once again.
Odd grabbed a skateboard and as it felt natural for him, he had some fun on the ride to the factory. He did some kick flips, some nollies, a manual leading into a grind on one of the rails. After a few minutes he made his way towards the ladder that leads up to the bridge of the factory. Odd left his skateboard and made his way up the ladder. Opening up the latch that blocked his way, getting himself up and out of the sewers. Moving the latch back into place Odd made his way into the entrance of the factory. It's been a long time since he last saw this sight, he never thought that in his lifetime he'd be back here. But he had a duty to complete. He needed to get Jeremy remote access.
He looked for a way down that's not the ropes, after the many years those ropes have been up, he doesn't trust them. He finds his way down to the floor of the Cathedral. Odd instinctively went to the elevator before he heard some noise. Odd quickly ducking out of the way to see a Goth girl holding a very beat up athletic looking kid down the way Odd came. She called the elevator and lugged the athlete into the elevator. The elevator then proceeded down the shaft.
Odd made his way towards a doorway that led to a room that resembled that of an oversized boiler room. Making his way down the long steps, stepping over a pipe, he walks towards a ladder on the side of the wall. He slowly made his way up the ladder that led into the laboratory. He watches as the Goth girl puts the athletic teen against the wall and made her way to the elevator again waiting for Martin. Martin gets up from the computer and makes his way towards the elevator. Odd is up in the rafters of the ceiling, waiting for his cue to make it down to the super computer. Once the coast was clear he made his way down the ladder to the floor of the Laboratory.
"Who….are….you?" Said the weak voice coming from the badly beaten and bruised teen.
"Just someone who used to be in your place, a lot." Odd said as he sat down on the chair in front of the Super Computer. He plugged in the flash drive into an open port and let its automatic script run to program itself for Odd so Jeremy can do his thing.
"What…are…you...doing?" The Athlete said as he tried to fight his way up, but his body wouldn't give. Thinking that the adult is a stranger trying to infect the computer in some way,
"Hopefully something you won't remember. In any case, I am the coolest cat you know." Odd said trying to lighten the mood. He really can't keep in the puns, now that he his back in the Factory.
"What….are….yo-" The athlete said until his own body knocks him out in the middle of his sentence. Odd takes this as a free second to breathe. Now he doesn't need to act all mysterious. Odd really hopes that this kid isn't a Lyoko Warrior. He doesn't need to explain himself when the return to the past happens.
Odd, pulling out his phone he gives Jeremy a call. It rings for a minute until Jeremy answers.
"Hello, Jeremy speaking." Said the voice on the other side of the phone.
"The flash drive is plugged in and doing its thing, I am using my chance with XANA attacking right now." Odd says explaining why he is calling much earlier than Jeremy expected.
"Is Martin, ok?" It is what Jeremy says first before anything else.
"Yes, he's really smart you know. Takes after you a bit. He can run the super computer and go into lyoko! You did good man." Odd says trying to compliment Jeremy.
"If only that was the truth, Martin isn't fond of me or Aelita currently, we needed to quickly drop him into a boarding school as our careers were going international and Martin needed his education." Jeremy said with regret in his voice.
"Don't worry about it, even if he hates his folks. You guys definitely made him to be a good Lyoko Warrior." Odd chuckles a bit to ease the tension.
"We were trying to avoid that." Jeremy said coldly through the phone. Which made Odd choke a bit with Jeremy's wrath coming through the phone.
"My bad, I didn't mean to bring that up. Anyways I am just going to monitor them for a minute. Just for old time sakes." Odd says calming the situation down.
"Alright, sorry I didn't mean to go off on you like that." Jeremy says sighing and the anger from his voice dissipates.
"No need to be sorry, I get it man. Kids are rough. We were just as bad when we were his age." Odd laughed a bit again remembering how much a pain he and his friends were to any adult in the area. Constantly leaving when XANA attacks and having some lame excuse to come up with on the spot.
"You could say that again." Jeremy sighed through the phone. Odd continued to watch as he noticed that Martin and the Goth Girl found themselves against some Krankerlots, Hornets and a Megatank.
"Currently they are fighting some of XANA's monsters. Seems like in all this time he doesn't have any new toys to play with. Wonder what he's been cooking up since we've been gone?" Odd says as he watches them fight.
"Don't jinx it, it's better it's the old monsters for now. Makes it easier for the kids to fight. As long as XANA doesn't bring in the Kolossus, they'll be fine." Jeremy says hoping and praying that XANA doesn't cook up any new monsters.
"Hold on. It looks like they might be having some trouble with the Megatank." Odd said until he saw the Goth Girl Devirtualize and Martin is still trying to take down the Krankerlots and Hornets. "Holy crap, Jeremy do you have access to the Super Computer yet?"
"Just about, why?" Jeremy asks curiously and worryingly.
"Martin's in trouble. It was just him and this Goth girl. You need to send me in. He's about to get demolished by a Megatank!" Odd said as he practically jumped out of the chair and staggered against the door on the floor near the other ladder that leads to the boiler room. Odd opens the hatch and starts quickly climbing down the ladder steps making his way towards the scanners.
"Alright launching the transfer process now, I will try to find a way to communicate through to you in Lyoko." Jeremy says before hanging up on the phone. Odd pockets his phone before seeing a scanner open. The one that the Goth Girl inhabited. Unfortunately, Odd didn't have time to ask for consent to move her, but it's a matter of life and death at this moment.
Odd moves the girl's body over into an upright position at the center of the scanner room with a huge latch that leads to the floor below them. Odd takes her place in the scanner and closes behind him. The Scanner starts to scan him, his heart races as this wasn't something he expected. He wasn't ready for this. He wanted to prep more to get into mood to fight. But he didn't have time. The tingling sensation grew throughout his body before losing the feeling in his body. All up until he lost his vision. He felt as if his body was all torn apart, but no pain. He felt this before, every time he went to Lyoko.
Feeling starts to appear again, he can feel his whole body. He then starts to see his surroundings. He was in the Ice Sector. Once his body fully virtualized, he landed on his feet to look at himself. It seems as if his avatar on Lyoko hasn't updated, which would make sense. He was in the last suit he had ever worn on Lyoko. He was a giant purple cat, with purple cat ears on his head. Whisker Make up on his face, a whole purple suit that resembled that of the fur of a cat, with a symbol on his chest to resemble his old dog he had growing up. Seeing the symbol on his chest made him feel like he would tear up a bit as his dog was no longer with him. But since he was virtualized, he couldn't shed a tear.
"Jeremy! You there!" Odd yelled into the sky to see if his friend successfully created a communication link to him on Lyoko.
"Odd, can you hear me?" He heard from his friend.
"Yes! Alright direct me oh GPS from the sky!" Odd retorted getting into the mood of his teenaged self. Jeremy explained the direction he needed to go from where his position is. Odd started to head into the direction, running normally. Until he remembered he basically was a cat, so he started running on all fours. Making him faster to get to his destination.
As he makes it, he notices Martin successfully destroyed the Krankerlots and Hornets, but the Megatank was about to make a direct hit on Martin. Odd readied his right arm and aimed for the eye on the Megatank.
"Lazer Arrow!" Odd screamed as he made his shot on the Megatank. He hits him right in the center of the Logo that is its eye. Making the Megatank explode into code. Martin was shielding himself from impact. Realized he wasn't going to Devirtualize. He looked to his savior and saw a giant purple cat running towards him. Thinking this was another monster, he readied his blaster at the purple cat. The cat stopped and held his arms up as a sign of surrender.
"Hey man calm down! We are on the same side!" Said the purple cat, which to Martin made him recognize the voice a bit, specifically from actually meeting him and some voice clips from his game.
"Odd Della Robbia? What the hell are you doing here? And how do you know about Lyoko?" Martin said with his jaw dropped. His favorite sports celebrity is there, on lyoko. Saved him from a huge problem of not being able to deactivate the tower.
"It's a long story, with a lot of information I cannot give. So long story sort, I was a Lyoko Warrior before you. Back in my youth me and my group of friends were defending the world against XANA." Odd said in a hero pose.
"So, you know Liam? I suppose you also won't answer any of my questions either?" Martin said annoyed.
"Liam? Whose Lia- Oh! You mean Wil- uh." Odd stopped himself before revealing the identity of his associate. He then panicked and talked out to Jeremy. "Hey Einstein! Can you wipe minds?"
"I do not have a program for that. Hopefully he won't get William's name." Jeremy explained.
"Whoa Whoa Shhh!" Odd said freaking out and shushing Jeremy. This made Martin give him a weird look.
"It's fine, currently keeping the communication link only between me and you. I don't exactly want to be a parent right now. But currently we are wasting time and need to deactivate the tower and launch a return to the past." Jeremy said as he started preparing the return to the past code.
Odd gave a sigh of relief, "Thank God, alright. Hey Martin, who usually does the Deactivating of the towers?"
"That would be me, and again how did you know my name?" Martin said giving him a probing glare.
"Tell him that it doesn't matter and to just deactivate the tower." Jeremy interrupted. Odd did just that and explained to Martin that he needs to just deactivate the tower. Which gave Martin a sense of being talked down to. As clearly Odd is talking to someone he can't hear or talk to. A sense of distrust loomed over Martin.
"Not unless I know who you're talking to. If it's just Liam I don't know why he won't talk to us. Unless it's not him." Martin took a deep breath before making his next accusation. "Or is it, Dad?" Martin said looking Odd straight in his eyes. This made Odd sweat a bit, or if his virtual form you could see the beads of sweat forming. Odd heard a sigh coming from Jeremy before opening the communications link to Martin.
"Listen, we will have a long conversation after this. I just need you to deactivate the tower." Jeremy said in a calm voice. Trying to keep his cool as he wanted to avoid this for as long as he could.
"No. I will not listen to you! You never listen to me! All you ever do is demand and demand, like as if I am your puppet! I won't listen to you!" Martin said as he started screaming into the sky. His face was beat red. Which was a surprise to Odd, as their virtual forms normally don't let them show too much emotion.
"Martin, this isn't up for debate. You can scream and shout at me all you want after I send a return. But right now, that tower needs to deactivate. All your friends could be hurt if you continue to let your tantru-"Jeremy gets cut off.
"Tantrum? Tantrum! That's what you're calling this!? You always treat me like I am some toddler! I don't want to be always talked down to! You know what! I don't need to hear anymore of this!" Martin pulled up a screen in his view and started typing away on the keyboard on his wrist. He pulled the plug from his dad, he couldn't access the Super Computer anymore.
"No more of him." Martin said angrily looking at the tower and then looking back at Odd.
"Listen, I respect you a lot as a skateboarder. But as an old Lyoko Warrior. If you won't answer questions, then you can buzz off. But you need to do one thing for me, regardless of how you feel of me after dealing with my dad. There's a Lyoko Warrior stuck in detention because Mr. Pichon was on a power trip. He is a massive fan of yours and he wanted to partake in your competition. Please do what you can to get him out of detention." Martin said as he stoically turned around and started heading towards the tower.
"Mr. Pichon. Why does that name sound familiar?" Odd wracked his brain a bit trying to fit names with faces. Until he remembered who the individual was. "You mean Herb? Oh yeah back in the day he was a total tool! Always following Sissi around as a little lackey." This did get Martin's attention a bit. This gave Martin enough to give Odd some credit, they are close to the same. Just instead he is friends with his father.
"Yeah, he is a total tool. Just do me this one favor please. I'll deal with the whole Dad thing myself." Martin turned around and continued into the tower. The floor lit up under him as he walked towards the center, he began to lift up towards the platform above him. This time he kept his whole body still so he wouldn't start flailing around. He made it to the top platform, a screen popped up in front of him, he placed his hand on the screen and his name popped up again on the screen before it finally read.
CODE LYOKO
The towers mist turns from red back to white. Odd see's as Martin exits the tower. He then had a thought of how they would be able to launch a return, then the old true classic way of devirtualizing came to his mind.
"So, we need to get back to launch that return now, I am going to aim a Laser Arrow at you, and you are going to blast me at the same time. Ready?" Odd said readying his right arm at Martin.
"Hey whoa hold your horses there! I am able to launch programs from the super computer in here, I was given admin powers I suppose." Martin said as he started to type away on the keyboard on his wrist.
"Oh, that's so nice! I really wished we had something like that back in the day. What can you do with it?" Odd asked genuinely?
"Don't know what I can't do yet, but it's a struggle as it's not something I am used to programming. But my expectations are the saying, the sky is the limit." Martin said as he started the return to the past countdown. "Alright I launched it, I'll probably not see you on the other side. But thank you for your help."
"No problem, I am trying to stay local, I can give you my phone number so you can call me if you need an extra warrior." Odd offered, which gave Martin a smile.
"Yeah, I'd appreciate that." Martin said with a smile growing on his face. Then a flash of white blinds both Martin and Odd.
a/n I'm going to be honest, I have no idea what to put in the notes section this time. I do want to thank all those who are still here reading. You have no idea how much I appreciate you! I was thinking about waiting more to reveal the start of Martin confirmed of his theory of Jeremy being his dad and being a previous Lyoko Warrior. I feel like introducing it now is going to be better for pacing. I don't want to have any filler chapters, what's the point of that?
Anyways thank you all for checking out this chapter! As always! Let's Get Ready to Virtualize!
