There was still no sign of Terra or Starfire. Beast Boy's heart pounded like a drumbeat in his chest, as the air became thick with urgency. Raven's sharp gaze swept across the facility, but even she couldn't shake the knot of dread twisting in her gut. They felt the stakes rising and although they wanted to regroup with the others, they both knew they couldn't stop now. If they wanted to save their friends and if Blackfire was about to launch a full-scale invasion, they had to move quickly and time was running out. Every second that passed felt like a weight added to their shoulders. "Stay close," Raven whispered, her voice steady. Beast Boy nodded, his sharp eyes scanning every inch of the facility, his senses heightened.
Then, Raven's eyes narrowed, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. It was the unmistakable feeling of a predator, the cold chill that came just before danger. Suddenly, Raven's intuition flared—a sudden chill creeping up her spine. She turned just in time, her dark energy flaring to life as a ripple in the air shimmered behind them.
"Move!" she shouted, her hands erupting in dark tendrils of energy, sweeping through the air just as Madame Rouge's liquid form crashed into the space between them. Her eyes gleamed with malice, her body bending and twisting with unnatural grace as she lunged
Beast Boy leaped to the side, shifting into his wolf form just as Madame Rouge, in her liquid, shapeshifting form, lunged at them from the shadows. Both titans barely dodged her attack. "Very perceptive, children," Madame Rouge hissed, her voice dripping with malice. "Now I won't hold back!"
Rogue's body rippled and stretched unnaturally, her limbs elongating as she lunged at them again with deadly speed. But this time, Raven and Beast Boy were ready. They had been training, honing their skills in the months following their last major battle. Together, their movements were in perfect sync—Raven's dark energy shields absorbed the brunt of Rogue's attacks, while Beast Boy darted around her, shifting between forms to strike with speed and precision.
Beast Boy transformed into a panther, senses razor-sharp. He lunged at her with his claws slashing with calculated ferocity. Raven floated above, casting bursts of dark magic to trap and disorient Rogue, their coordination impeccable.
"You're not as sharp as you used to be," Raven remarked coldly, her energy flaring as she deflected another of Rogue's attacks. "Maybe spending all that time as a frozen popsicle with the Brain made you rusty."
Madame Rouge's expression twisted into a snarl. "You will regret that little girl!"
But no matter how hard Rogue pushed, she found herself outmatched. Beast Boy and Raven had grown stronger, their synergy making them a formidable team. They were on the verge of overwhelming the villainess when, without warning, a huge chunk of rock hurtled toward them, smashing into Raven's shield with enough force to send her stumbling back.
Beast Boy's heart sank as he saw who had thrown the rock. "No… Terra?!"
Stepping into the view, Terra emerged from the shadows—but she was no longer the girl they had known. Her look was radically different, her old black crop top and school uniform replaced by sleek, dark Tamaranean-style armor, similar to Blackfire's but more imposing. Her eyes glowed with an unsettling intensity, and her expression was cold, distant.
Raven recovered quickly, her eyes narrowing as she realized what was happening. "Beast Boy, calm your bi-polar Barbie down. I'll handle Rouge."
Beast Boy hesitated, his heart racing as he looked at Terra, the girl he had been searching for, the girl he had loved. "Terra!" he called, stepping forward cautiously. "You don't have to do this! It's me—it's us! We can help you!"
But Terra didn't move. Her gaze remained locked on him, unreadable, as if she didn't even recognize him. Before Beast Boy could say another word, Madame Rouge's taunting voice cut through the tension.
"Oh, how sweet. Trying to reach her, are you, Beast Boy?" Rouge sneered, backing away toward the shadows. "But you're too late. She's under Blackfire's power now. And thanks to Tamaranean technology, her abilities are stronger than ever."
Rogue's words hit Beast Boy like a punch to the gut. The girl standing before him wasn't the Terra he remembered. She had changed—again. And now, it seemed, she had fully aligned herself with Blackfire's twisted ambitions.
Terra raised her hand, and the ground beneath Beast Boy began to tremble, rocks lifting into the air. "Things change," she said coldly, her voice devoid of the warmth he once knew.
"Not again," Beast Boy whispered, his heart breaking. But before he could react, Terra launched a massive boulder toward him. He barely had time to shift into his eagle form, dodging the attack by mere inches.
Meanwhile, Raven and Madame Rouge clashed violently, their fight displaying a dance of dark magic and shapeshifting strikes. Raven was holding her own, but Beast Boy knew that Terra, with her enhanced abilities, was a whole new threat.
Beast Boy, desperate to reach Terra, shifted back into human form, landing with a thud. "Terra, I know you're in there! This isn't you! You don't have to fight us—just let me help you!"
But Terra remained unmoved, her face emotionless as she prepared to hurl another wave of earth at him.
Raven's voice echoed in his mind. "She's gone, Beast Boy. You have to let go."
"NO!" Beast Boy shouted, dodging another attack. "I won't give up on her!"
The situation was growing more desperate by the second, and the odds were stacked against them. Terra's power was overwhelming, and Madame Rouge was growing more ruthless with every passing moment. The dynamic duo was quickly losing control of the fight.
As they struggled, Beast Boy, ever the joker even in the face of danger, called out to Raven between attacks, his voice tinged with the slightest hint of humor. "Hey, Raven… you don't think you could call your dad right about now, could you? Heh… heh…"
Raven shot him a sideways glance, her expression deadpan but a faint smile tugging at her lips. " Haha, very funny."
But even Raven knew the situation was grim. The team was fractured, Terra had fallen under Blackfire's influence, and they were outnumbered. For the first time in a long time, Raven felt the creeping sense that they might not win this one.
Just as Terra prepared to launch another devastating strike at Beast Boy, a dark energy field surrounded her arm, holding it in place. Raven, her energy burning bright, pushed forward, holding Terra back.
"Beast Boy, we need to fall back. Now!" Raven's voice was firm.
Beast Boy hesitated, looking at Terra one last time before nodding grimly. "Okay…"
As they retreated, Terra's cold eyes followed them, her form still radiating power. She wasn't done with them yet.
Blackfire's invasion was coming, and now Terra had joined her ranks. The storm was just beginning, and the Titans were running out of time.
As they retreated,Terra watched them disappear into the shadows. For a brief moment, something flickered in her eyes—but then, it was gone.
