4. Switch Point

Chapter 4: Switch Point

After the duel was finally over, Jeanette and Pat were enjoying their lunches. She had more to eat, but she ate her lunch quickly. Fernando kept the tacos warm and toasty for them both. A Ambulance came and and took Tony to the best hospital in Night City and Rocki was allowed to go with them.

Jeanette sighed and replied, "What a day this has been for us. I hope that Tony guy pulls through."

Pat nodded as he continued to eat his last taco and he replied, "I really do. Rocki can't take change well at all."

She nodded and she looked at her cellphone and replied, "I have to get going now. If you hear anything from Rocki about Tony, call me at anytime."

He nodded to his partner and replied, "Good to know. See you later, girl."

She smiled back as she got up and left the area and then he sighed and replied, "Rocki, Stay strong. I hope everything goes well."

That night in the ladies locker room, Me and Maddie were getting ready to head hime.

Ashlee sighed and replied, "What a day, eh?"

The other ladies nodded and then I nodded and then replied, "What a day it was. I hope that Tony makes it through the night as well."

"So do I. I Can't believe he was shot in the stomach in front of so many people."

The wonderer nodded as Ashlee got out a red sweatshirt out of her locker and then the wonderer saw her two tattoos and she nodded and replied, "That is beautiful works of art you have there, girl."

"Thanks, girl. I like these tattoos, but I have better ones on my back. Wanna see it?"

I nodded and Ashlee turned her body around with her back towards the wonderer and she took off her work shirt, showing off her the back of her grey sports bra, but then I looked at her back with amazement! Her whole back was covered with different kinds of flower tattoos from the back of her neck to the bottom of her back and she replied, "Impressed?"

"Very much so.", I said with a smile and Ashlee nodded as she put her sweatshirt on and then she replied, "When I was promoted to a Middle-Ranked Fighter, my uncle and mother paid for all of this. My Uncle Steve owns a tattoo place in the middle of the CIty Center area of the city with his husband Cathy. He gave me this work for under 50 bucks. It took 4 long hours, but he and his assistant Rudy got it done. I had 3 days off afterwards so I can recover from it and I turned out okay."

I nodded and then Maddie resumed, "I'm heading home for now. I can walk you to your room before I head home if you want me too."

"I would like the company."

I nodded and we both closed the doors as we closed our lockers. Liz gave me my own locker for my own as well and it was a spare one that had anyway.

Later that night at about 10:30 in the Night City Eastwood Hospital 2nd Floor waiting room, Rocki and Pat were in the room waiting for anything new about Tony. Unknowing to the other World Fighters, Rocki called up Pat and asked him to be with her right now and he quickly drove up there to be with her and both were in the waiting room and were waiting for any kind of news. Rocki had been crying for hours now and Pat was there to help her out.

Pat sighed and replied, "I Really do hope he makes it through the night. Tony is a decent guy that was forced to do something that he didn't want to do thanks to that asshole."

Rocki then replied, "Me too, Pat. I don't want to lose him."

She looked at Pat and replied, "I really want to thank you for saving my life earlier today, Pat. you are such a great friend to have. I'm so sorry we had our feud. We both lost and I shouldn't of took it out on you."

"It's no trouble at all, Rocki. I forgive you and we can start fresh as two good friends."

She smiled at him and then they saw a doctor walk in and it said Dr. Lewis on her name tag and she saw the friends and replied, "You both here with Tony Montirello?"

They both nodded and she sighed and replied, "I wish I didn't have to tell you this, but I have to. When Tony was shot in the stomach, the bullet tore through his stomach

quite a bit and we removed it, but he lost a lot of blood in the process."

Rocki looked at her and replied, "What are you trying to tell us right, miss?"

She sighed sadly and replied, "We did all we could, but the damage done was so serve and bad, that he sadly passed on about twenty minutes after the surgery. I'm so sorry to tell you all this."

She sat down and cried even more and the nurse then replied, "We'll leave you both alone for a while. Call us up if you need anything."

She slowly left the lounge and closed the door behind them and Pat walked over to Rocki and he replied, "Rocki, I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a great guy."

She saw him and hugged him and replied, "Please stay with me as long as you can, Pat. I can't do this on my own."

"I will never leave your side for anything right now, girl. You need a friend and that'll be me."

She slighty smiled at him as she went back to crying her eyes out and Pat held her close and then he replied, "Again, I'm sorry for this loss of yours, Rocki. I'm here for you."

She smiled a little bit at him and then she resumed, "I want a 2nd chance of being a World Fighter so I can help prevent things like this."

He nodded and resumed, "When I wake up tomorrow, I"ll call my boss up so we can arrange a duel for you, girl. It shouldn't be any trouble."

She only smiled at him and he continued to hold onto her.

That following morning, Liz told them about the sad news at a meeting in the cafe area and it effected Jeanette the most. I was still at home sleeping. Pat was still with Rocki at her place at the moment.

She sighed sadly and replied, "That is not right at all. Pat called me this morning and he was with her until about 1 in the morning and then gave her a ride home."

Ashlee nodded and replied, "Tough loss for them both, Liz. I hope they can find the help they need to get through this."

Their boss nodded and then resumed, "Tomorrow morning, that Rocki girl is dueling Orlando our tester to try to be added to our group with a Test Duel. She wants this to prevent things like this from ever happening again."

Keith nodded and resumed, "What a woman she is right now. She needs something to distract herself from and dueling him will help her out a lot as well."

Erica nodded and resumed, "If anyone can do it, it's her."

"Orlando redid his deck a bit, so he wants to use again in a duel."

Maddie then resumed, "This will be a great duel to see."

Liz nodded and resumed, "We're inviting all of you to watch while the NCPD will do extra patrols to watch over the city as well and also, we'll invite our newest friend and her parents if they are still in Night City as well."

Ashlee raised her hand and resumed, "Let me call Rocki up and Pat and ask her if they are still in Night City."

She nodded and then looked back at the siblings and resumed, "Your both on pier duty today."

Keith and his sister nodded as they both got up and left.

Inside of her office on the top floor of their HQ, Liz was with Genny and her assistant Jamie was outside as her receponist and fellow Middle-Ranked World Fighter as well. Her office had a large window that had a great view

Liz nodded and resumed, "I really hope that girl can win her duel this afternoon. Orlando has a great deck and it might be a tough one for her to beat."

Her daughter nodded and then resumed, "I might be, mom. She'll never give up until she wins it all."

She nodded as her door and her assistant Jamie walked in. She was a thin and beautiful blonde-haired girl that was only 24 and she had many tattoos of flowers, stars and hearts all over both of her arms and the words LOVING THE LIFE I HAVE tattooed in red letters across her chest that had small red hearts around it and she replied, "Orlando is here, madam."

Their boss nodded and Orlando walked in and then Jamie smiled back at Orlando before she left and Liz saw him and resumed, "You ready for a test duel, Orlando?"
He then resumed, "Of course, madam. Who's our duelist?"

"A girl that Ashlee and Pat know by the name of Roxanne, but she prefers Rocki for a short."

He then resumed, "I heard about her from the news and Ashlee. I heard her boyfriend was gunned down by that creep and she wants to do this so she can help pervent things like this."

"You heard right, Orlando. When you duel her, leave your Tuner, Xyz and Synchros out of the deck please."

He nodded and then resumed, "I will do so, madam. I look forward to this duel myself."

He turned around and left and then Liz nodded and resumed, "This will be a amazing duelist."

That next day in the afternoon, we were all in the basement area to watch Rocki's entry duel. I was invited to watch it as well. Rocki's mom Bethany and her step dad Calvin were watching. I heard from Pat and Ashlee that Rocki's birth father Douglas was killed in a motor accident outside of Night City a month after she was born and before cops or World Fighters got there, there was no body or evidence of anything happening there and it was still a mystery to this day, but then she met Calvin and they've fallen in love quickly and they had a small wedding in the City Center area paid for by the NCPD for what happened to her first husband and I've heard he's a really nice guy.

Pat then resumed, "I can't wait for this duel to happen. Rocki has a strong deck of her own."

Liz nodded and then looked back at her mom Bethany and resumed, "I hope your daughter has what it takes to be a member of our group, Mrs. Larson."

She nodded and resumed, "Me to, miss. She's doing this for herself and to remember that Tony guy. He was a little bit of a trouble, but he really treated Rocki with respect and honor and that was good enough for me and my husband here."

Calvin smiled and resumed, "She shouldn't have any trouble, honey. I've seen her duel a couple of times and she's a badass of a duelist."

She smiled back at him and they both quickly kissed as the two duelists walked in. Rocki was wearing a purple and black shirt that should off her purple bra straps and she wore a red and black skirt that showed a lot of the tattoos she had on her legs and Bethany sighed and resumed, "That Steve guy really did gave her some amazing ink work on her arms and legs."

Ashlee looked at her and she smiled and resumed, "That is my uncle, miss. He does great work."

She nodded to her as Liz walked down onto the field and then she resumed, "May our World Fighter Test duel began soon and we should have a amazing duel right here and now."

She looked at Rocki and resumed, "Roxanne Larson or Rocki as you like better, if you win the duel against our tester, you are in. If Orlando gets the win, you have to wait another month for another entry duel. Is that Understood?"

She nodded to her and resumed, "Yes, madam."

"Good to hear that. Duelists, activate your duel disks."

The both quickly activated their duel disks and both quickly drew 5 cards and Liz quickly sat down on a bench nearby and she resumed, "Let our test duel began now."

"Game on!", Both duelists yelled out

-o-o-o-o-o-o- (Orlando LP: 8000) -o-o-o-o- (Rocki LP: 8000) -o-o-o-o-o-o-

Liz then resumed, "SInce Rocki is being tested, she can either go first or let our test go first."

She looked at her first 5 cards and she resumed, "I'll start us off. I'll set a monster and I'll also set a card for later and that's all for me."

Orlando drew a new card and resumed, "I summon my Choo Choo Cruiser."

He played the card and train tracks appeared as the small express train rode onto the field (ATK: 1,800).

"Destroy her facedown monster."

It quickly charged in and a strange bat-like creature appeared on the card (DEF: 0) and it plowed into it and let out a small screech-like noise before it burst into black fiery embers that flew around the field.

"Never faced a Vampire deck before. Your move now, miss."

She drew a new card and then resumed, "I start with Lil-la Rap."

The strange Spell Card appeared.

"Since my Familiar is in my graveyard, I can discard another Vampire to Special Summon my Familiar back from graveyard."

She took a Vampire Retrainer and discarded it and the bat-like creature appeared (ATK: 500) and she smiled and resumed, "Now once per Chain, my Spell gives you 1000 damage and then I get 500 lifepoints when I Special Summon a monster from my graveyard and with my deck, that is a lot."

Her Spell glowed and she did as well (Rocki LP: 8000 - 8500) and then a bolt of energy shot out and slammed into him (Orlando LP: 8000 - 7000) and then she resumed, "I'll now drop 500 lifepoints to get another Vampire monster from my deck with Familiar's effect."

The bat went in and bit her on her left shoulder (Rocki LP: 8500 - 8000) and she nodded and then resumed, "Worth it. I tribute it for my Vampire Lord."

The bat burst apart into smaller bats and the most well-known vampire appeared with a hiss (ATK: 2,000) and then she resumed, "I attack your machine with Childen of the Night."

The vampire opened his cape as a burst of bats flew in and they slashed and scratched at the train before it exploded into hot shards of metal (Orlando LP: 7000 - 6800) and then she resumed, "Discard a Trap Card."

He nodded and looked through his deck and then discarded a Reckless Greed and discarded it and then he reshuffled his deck and then she resumed, "There you go. I end my turn now."

He drew a card and resumed, "I'm going to have to keep a close eye on you, lady. I'll set 2 cards and a monster as well and that's all I can do right now."

She drew a new card and then resumed, "I now summon my Gozuki."

She played the card and the bull-headed demon with a large hammer appeared (ATK: 1,700).

"I'll discard a Zombie monster from my deck."

She quickly grabbed a card from the deck and then discarded it and then resumed, "Vampire Lord, attack."

The vampire let out more bats and a barrage of bats shot out and a Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive appeared on the card (DEF: 1,200) and the bats plowed into it and smoke came from its smoke stack before it exploded into a burning pile of scrap and she drew a new card and then resumed, "Gozuki attacks directy."

The zombie charged in and and he smiled and resumed, "I activate the effect of my Snow Plow Hustle Rustle and since I have no monsters and only Spell and Traps in my Spell and Trap Zones, I Can destroy them all and Special Summon it."

He played the card and a large train engine combined with a snow plow appeared (ATK: 2,500) and then both facedown cards flew into the center of the train and then small black shards shot out and stabbed into her (Rocki LP: 8000 - 7600).

"Crap. I'll end my turn now."

He drew a card and then resumed, "I play Burden of the Mighty."

The spell appeared and both of her monsters weakened (ATK: 2,000 - 1,500) - (ATK: 1,700 - 1,300).

"I now summon my 2nd Cruiser."

She played the card and another of the small trains rode onto the field (ATK: 1,800).

"Cruiser attacks your Vampire."

It quickly charged and rammed into the Vampire and it hissed before it burst in a shower of black dust & small white shards.

"My larger train attacks now."

His train quickly charged in and slammed into the Zombie and smashed it to pieces and its hammer flew into the distance and smashed against the ground (Rocki LP: 7600 - 6100).

"There you go. I'll set a card and that'll end my turn now."

She drew a new card and then resumed, "I'll activate my Spellbook from Inside the Pot."

The spell appeared and they both drew 3 cards and then she resumed, "I now activate my Mystical Space Typhoon."

The storm began and the the force of the winds ripped the Spell card in two clean pieces before flying away into the distance.

"I now summon my Vampire Sorcerer."

She played the card and the dark vampie-like mage appeared (ATK: 1,500) and then she opened her field slot and resumed, "I activate my Vampire Kingdom."

She slid the card into her slot and it closed up and the area around her turned into a village under a dark sky and the blood red moon was above them and there was a castle at the top of a hill as well and Pat saw the card and he nodded and resumed, "What a beautiful Field Spell that is."

"I now activate my Vampire's Desire."

The spell appeared.

"I send a Vampire away to Special Summon another one from my graveyard and that will be my Vampire Duke that I discarded with Gozuki's effect."

The sorcerer smiled evily and dissolved into dark particles as another Vampire appeared and this one looked like the famous Dracula from the very early days of monster films (ATK: 2,000) and she resumed, "Rap's effect hits now."

She glowed again (Rocki LP: 6100 - 6600) and then a another bolt of energy shot out and slammed into him (Orlando LP: 6800 - 5800) and then she smiled and resumed, "I declare a Spell Card with Duke's effect."

He went into his deck and then then found a Machine Assembly Line and he took the card from is deck and then reshuffled and then she resumed, "Since you had to discard a card from your deck, I discard a Vampire from my deck and then one of your cards is wiped out!"

She took a Vampire Lady and discarded it from the deck and a shower of dark bolts of energy shot out and slammed into the larger machine and sparks flew from its blades before small explosions happened all over it before it finally a huge explosion blew out of it and reduced it to a fiery pile of debris that collapsed into dust.

"Duke, attack!"

He glowed (ATK: 2,000 - 2,500) as more bats flew out and slashed at the train before it exploded into fiery scrap metal and ash (Orlando LP: 5800 - 5300) and Liz nodded and resumed, "This girl is really good with this deck. Vampire decks can be tricky to use, but she's using this one with no trouble at all."

Genny nodded and resumed, "Vampire decks can be a trouble to use, but are very powerful if used correctly."

Pat smiled and then resumed, "She told me about this deck the other night and didn't want me to see any cards in the case we both would have a duel."

Maddie saw his monster and then resumed, "She's really giving Orlando a challenge with this deck."

"There you go. I end my turn now."

Orlando drew a card and resumed, "Your a amazing duelist with this deck, Rocki. I'll set a monster and a card and that's all for now."

She drew a card and resumed, "I summon my Guard Ghost."

She played the card and a ghostly warrior with a large wooden weapon appeared (ATK: 1,800).

"Ghost Guard, attack!"

It went in and he nodded and resumed, "I activate my Malevolent Catastrophe."

The trap appeared and she groaned a huge storm of energy formed and her Rap card was blasted to bits and then the village was torn apart and its buildings and castles collapsed into dust as it returned the field to normal and then her monster went in and a Bokochi the Freightning Car appeared on the card (DEF: 500) and it slammed its staff down and smashed it into scrap metal and Orlando nodded and resumed, "I use the effect my LV2 Summoner that I destroyed with my first train's effect. I Can banish and pay 200 lifepoints for each copy of it my deck and then they're Special Summoned."

He glowed (Orlando LP: 5300 - 4900) and then he banished the card and two more of the cards went and she sighed and pointed and her Duke hissed as it flew and gave it kick and it fell over and smashed into little pieces of metal as it struck the ground.

"Your move now."

He drew a card and then resumed, "I now activate my Overload Fusion to banish my 3 Bokoichis and my Dekoichi to Fusion Summon my Dekoichi the Krazy Train!"

The spell appeared and all four train cards flew into the Spell and then a larger Dekoichi with blood-red eyes and a large body connected with 3 larger sized Bokoichi the Freightning Cards connected to it appeared and 3 dark smoke stacks on the main engine (ATK:800).

"It gains 800 attack for each Bokoichi I used to summon it."

More and more smoke started to pour out of the stacks (ATK: 800 - 3,200).

"Destroy her Guard."

It quickly rushed and struck the Zombie hard and it flew back and burst in a cloud of dust (Rocki LP: 6600 - 6200).

"There you go. I End my turn now."

She drew a new card and then resumed, "I'll switch my Duke to defense and then I'll set a new monster facedown and that's all I Can do right now."

He drew a new card and then resumed, "I now summon my Mechanicalchaser."

She played the card and the multi-armed machine appeared (ATK: 1,850).

"Chaser attacks first."

It went and drove its proded arm into the Vampire and it moaned and burst into dust.

"I attack with my giant now."

It quickly charged and the brief image of a Morphing Jar appeared (DEF: 600) before the train crushed it into dust and he discarded a Card Trooper and she didn't have anything to discard and both drew 5 cards and then resumed,"I'll set a card and that's all I can do for now."

Rocki drew a card and then resumed, "Time for some fun. I activate Book of Life."

The spell appeared and her Vampire Lord appeared again (ATK: 2,000) and she resumed, "Banish your Hustle Rustle."

He nodded and did so and then she resumed, "I'll discard a Vampire again and Special Summon my Retrainer."

She discarded a Vampire Grace and the beastly monster appeared (ATK: 1,200) and she resumed, "I take 500 damage with Retrainer's effect to get a Vampire Spell or Trap from my deck."

She quickly grabbed a card and she moaned again (Rocki LP: 6200 - 5700) and then she smiled and resumed, "I tribute my little friend for my Vampire Dragon."

It vanished into dark particles and a large vampire-like dragon appeared with a snarling roar (ATK: 2,400) and then she resumed, "I now activate Forbidden Chalice on your Fusion.'

The spell appeared and the machine began to rust up a little bit (ATK: 3,200 - 1,200).

"Lastly, I activate my Vampire's Domain."

The spell appeared.

"Time for some fun. Dragon, attack."

The dragon growled as its eye glowed and a beam of pure dark energy shot out and pierced through the machine and it glowed before it exploded in a shower of hot debris that covered his side of the field (Orlando LP: 4900 - 3700) and she smiled and resumed, "Each time a Vampire monster I control does damage, I gain that amount of lifepoints."

She sighed as the energy came back to her (Rocki LP: 5700 - 6900) and she resumed, "I attack with Vampire Lord Now."

It let out a burst of bats and they flew in and slashed and bit at the machine and it let out a series of beeps before it shattered to pieces (Orlando LP: 3700 - 3550) and she glowed as well (Rocki LP: 6900 - 7050) and she resumed, "Discard another Trap."

He nodded and then took a Barrage Blast Trap and discarded it and then reshuffled.

"That's all I can do for now."

He drew a card and resumed, "I activate my Metal Reflect Slime."

The trap appeared and a large blob of silver slime appeared (DEF: 3,000).

"I now play Monster Reborn."

The spell appeared and and his stronger Dekoichi appeared (ATK: 800).

"I now overlay my 2 Level 10 monsters and I'll use them to build the Overlay Network and Xyz Summon my Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max."

The 2 machines turned into small red orbs and flew into the sky and then a large train car with a huge cannon appeared (ATK: 3,000) and Rocki saw the monster and she sighed and resumed, "I knew I'd see that one sooner or later."

"I'll remove a Xyz Material monster to blast some points away."

She discarded one the cards as the cannon fired a huge burst of energy and it slammed into her hard (Rocki LP: 7050 - 5050) and then she resumed, "Blast her Dragon away."

It fired its cannon and the laser tore through her dragon-like zombie, blasting it to little bits (Rocki LP: 5050 - 4650) and she nodded and resumed, "When it s Tribute Summoned and then destroyed in battle, I get any Level 4 monster from my deck."

She quickly grabbed a card.

"Your move now, Rocki."

She drew a card and she saw her hand and she smiled and resumed, "Time to end this one. I tribute my Vampire Lord for my Vampire Red Baron."

Her lord vanished and her armored vampire riding a horse and wielding a spear appeared (ATK: 2,000).

"I now use my Domain's effect and pay 500 lifepoints and Normal Summon my other Vampire Lady."

She glowed again (Rocki LP: 4650 - 4150) and then her Vampire Lady appeared (ATK: 1,550) and Maddie saw the cards and she smiled and resumed, "I know how she'll end this."

"I drop 1,000 lifepoints to use my Red Baron's effect to switch my Vampire Lady with your Cannon."

She glowed again (Rocki LP: 4150 - 3150) and her Vampire Lady went to his side of the field and she got the cannon and she discarded the final material and a blast of energy shot out and slammed into him (Orlando 3700 - 1700) and Orlando nodded then smiled and resumed, "You are going to be a amazing part of our team, Rocki. Go for the win."

"It was a great duel, sir. Gustaph Max, attack."

It fired another shot and it shot out and the Vampire smiled evily as the attack slammed into and vaporized her (Orlando LP: 1700 - 250).

"Red Baron, attack."

It quickly charged in and slammed its spear into him (Orlando LP: 250 - 0) and then Liz stood up and she resumed, "You have won your duel and tonight, I'll make it a offical. World Fighters, here's are newest recruit."

She nodded and smiled then everyone watching (Including Rocki's parents) stood up and began to clap and applaud for their newest World Fighter and then Pat sighed and resumed, "Tony would of been so proud of this moment. Rest in peace, big guy."

He sighed again as he and everyone else continued to cheer for their newest member.

Wonderer: That was a amazing duel between two amazing duelists and she does her dream and is a World Fighter. Next time, she's becomes a full-time member and who will be her teacher?
