Lakewood High School, just a few hours away for the start of summer vacation. Jake was at his locker and spotted Hayley, he needed to talk to her, about the kiss, the kiss that not long ago have shared, but haven't talked about it since. Jake closed his locker and walked toward Hayley.
"Hey," greeted Jake.
"Hi," greeted Hayley back.
"Can we talk?" Asked Jake nervously.
"Right now?" Asked Hayley, she looked at the clock. "Class is about to start any minute."
"It won't take long," said Jake.
"What is it?" Hayley asked.
"I wanted to ask if we could have a talk later?" Asked Jake.
"You wanted to talk to find a moment today to talk?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes," said Jake.
"Okay," said Hayley.
"Good, this afternoon at the end of the day in HQ?" Asked Jake.
"Okay, I'll see you later then," said Hayley.
"Good," said Jake.
The bell rang, Hayley closed her locker and walked toward her class.
"Seriously Jake? Really smooth," said Jake to himself.
Jake also walked toward his class.
A few hours later and the school day was over. Jake was already in HQ, sitting nervously in the chair and waiting for Hayley. The elevator doors opened, but to his disappointment, it was only Kirby.
"Oh it's you," said Jake.
"Nice to see you, too," said Kirby.
"Sorry, I didn't mean it that way," said Jake. "I was hoping you'd be someone else."
"You mean Hayley?" Kirby asked.
"What exactly is going on between you? Since that one mission in Stillwater, something has changed between you," said Kirby.
"Something did happen there," said Jake.
"What happend? Tell me," said Kirby.
"Me and Hayley kissed," said Jake.
"No way," said Kirby.
"It did happen," said Jake.
"And then what about between you now? Are you two a couple now or what?" Asked Kirby.
"I don't know what we're at the moment, which is why I need to talk to Hayley," said Jake.
"I get that, but would you want to? You know to be couple?" Asked Kirby.
"I like Hayley more than just a friend," said Jake.
"You want her to be your girlfriend?" Asked Kirby.
"Yes," said Jake. Sorry about before.
"It's all right," said Kirby.
"What are you actually doing here HQ, aren't you going on vacation with your family to one of your islands?" Asked Jake.
"Yes, that's true," said Kirby. "But I have to tell you something."
"What is it?" Asked Jake.
"I can't do that until everyone is here," said Kirby.
In the meantime, in the hallways of Lakewood High. Hayley was walking toward the supply room when Cadence walked up.
"Are you going to HQ?" Asked Cadence.
"Yes, I'm meeting Jake there," said Hayley.
"Oh la, la, do I smell romance?" Teased Cadence.
"Not like that, he just wants to talk," said Hayley.
"About what?" Asked Cadence.
"I'm not sure," said Hayley. but from the look on her face, Cadence got the idea that Hayley knew that it was about.
"But you got a hunch," said Cadence.
"I think he wants to talk about the kiss," said Hayley.
"The kiss? You two kissed?" Asked Cadence.
"Yes, we kissed," said Hayley.
"When?" Asked Cadence.
"Not long ago, We were fighting the Fog Monster in Stillwater," said Hayley.
"So what's the deal with you guys now?" Asked Cadence.
"I'm not really sure that the deal is, I guess that's why Jake wants to talk,' said Hayley. "Why are you going to HQ in the first place?"
"I have to talk to you all, I have news," said Cadence.
Hayley and Cadence entered the supply room and took the elevator to HQ. A few minutes later Mr. Stockley entered HQ.
"Good you are all here, I just got word from International that Summer team is ready, so you can all can go on vacation with out worries," said Mr. Stockley.
"That's good news," said Jake.
"And speaking of news, said Mr. Stockley. "Cadence, Kirby."
"You go first," said Kirby.
"I'm leaving Lakewood," said Cadence.
"What?" Asked Jake.
"Cadence why?" Asked Hayley.
"I have been asked to work as a Troop Super Agent," said Cadence."
"What is that?" Asked Jake.
"That's someone who does mission for the Troop that are too dangerous for humans, that's why they asked me to do this," said Cadence.
"Cadence are you sure, you've finally found your home here?" Asked Hayley.
"I want to do this," said Cadence. "Plus I can travel around the world at the Troop's expense, that's a bonus."
"I'm going to miss you," said Hayley, as she gave Cadence a hug.
"Me too," said Jake, he also joined in the hug.
"I'm going to miss you guys too," said Cadence.
"Ah man, now I have to break my news," said Kirby.
"Kirby you're not going to tell us you're leaving us too are you?" Asked Hayley.
"That's what I was going to tell you, yes, I'm leaving Lakewood too," said Kirby. "My family is moving to New Zealand and at my new school I can join the Troop there."
"Dude, I'm gonna miss you," said Jake.
"I'm going to miss you too," said Kirby and he gave Jake a hug. "You two come here and give me a hug too."
Hayley and Cadence walked over to Kirby a joined in the hug.
"So what's going to happen now Mr. Stockley, we need a new team member," said Hayley.
"That will be another test for someone to take," said Jake.
"That is not necessary, I have been told that we have already added team member," said Mr. Stockley.
"Who then?" Asked Hayley.
"Oh please don't let it be Etienne again," said Jake.
"Actually I have no idea who it is," said Mr. Stockley. "But I also hope not that it is going to Etienne again."
"It's me," said a familiar voice.
Jake and Hayley turned to the screen and saw Felix.
"Felix?" Asked Jake.
"You're rejoining our team?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes, I'm returning to Lakewood," said Felix.
"But what about your position at International?" Asked Hayley.
"It's great, but not as great as fighting side by side with you two against monster," said Felix.
"That's awesome," said Jake.
"Glad to have you back Felix," said Hayley.
"Yes, I'll see you after the summer," said Felix.
Felix hung up. Cadence received a phone call, she answered and the conversation didn't last long.
"I better go pack my stuff, they'll be here in half an hour to pick me up," said Cadence.
"Yes, I also will by picked up any minute, my mother wants us to be in our jet before dinner," said Kirby.
"I'll give you a hand," said Mr. Stockley.
Mr. Stockley walked Cadence and Kirby to the elevator and left HQ. Leaving Jake and Hayley in a awkward silence, until Jake started speaking.
"So," said Jake.
"So," said Hayley.
"Those are a lot of changes all at once, though," said Jake.
"Yes, I'm going to miss Cadence and Kirby a lot," said Hayley.
"Me too," said Jake. "But I'm glad Felix is coming back."
"Yes, the old team back together like before," said Hayley.
"Will it be like before?" Asked Jake.
"What do you mean?" Asked Hayley.
"I had told you I wanted to talk to you," said Jake. "About us."
"You mean the kiss?" Asked Hayley.
"Yes, about the kiss…," began Jake.
"That was nothing special anyway, we were just caught in the moment," said Hayley.
"So it was a mistake, is that what you're saying?" Asked Jake.
"It's better if it doesn't happen again right?" Hayley asked.
"Right," said Jake.
"We work best when we are a team and best when we do nothing to upset that balance," said Hayley.
"So we're okay?" Asked Jake.
"Sure we're okay, we're friends," said Hayley. "So we can put this behind us, right?"
"Right, sure," said Jake.
"Come let's say goodbye to Kirby and Cadence," said Hayley.
"I'm coming," said Jake.
A few minutes later at the school. A big black SVU with the Troop logo pulled up.
"That's my ride," said Cadence.
"Promise to hear from you again sometime?" Asked Hayley.
"I promise," said Cadence. "And if I'm ever here in Lakewood again, I'll definitely stop by."
"I'll hold you to that," said Hayley.
"Good luck Cadence," said Jake.
"Thanks," said Cadence.
"I can already see the limo coming," said Kirby.
"I hope you're going to have a good time in New Zealand, Kirby," said Jake.
"And I hope you will have a nice team as well," said Hayley.
"I promise never to forget my time in the Troop that I served with you guys," said Kirby.
"I should hope so," said Hayley.
"I wish you both the best," said Mr. Stockley.
"Thank you Mr. Stockley," said Kirby.
"Yes, thank you for everything you did for me," said Cadence.
"No need to say thank you for that, I would gladly do it all over again," said Mr. Stockley.
Cadence got into the SVU and Kirby got into the limo and drove away. Jake and Hayley walked with Mr. Stockley to the parking lot.
"Have a great summer Mr. Stockley," said Jake.
"Thank you, you too," said Mr. Stockley.
Mr. Stockley got into his car and drove away. Jake and Hayley walked toward their bikes.
"Have a great summer Jake, said Hayley.
"You too," said Jake.
"Bye," said Hayley.
"See you later," said Jake.
Hayley got on her bike and rode away, while Jake watched, and he sighed deeply. When Jake no longer saw her, he grabbed his bike and headed home.
