Tanks. Iron colossi, the terror of soldiers, beasts of steel, tanks have been given many names for years because they have marked a great achievement in history, especially in the conflicts of countries in the coldest and bloodiest wars. Always at the front, ready to face death without fear of anything, never retreating and destroying everything in their path.
Over the years, those war machines evolved to reach a unique and intimidating level, capable of freezing the blood of the toughest veteran just by listening to their loud rumble on the gravel. Because these beasts are the ones who command the armies, they are the commanders of steel.
Birds are singing in a beautiful desert field, in the distance, five vehicles are advancing in sync leaving trails of dirt behind.
"Four Matilhda 2s and a Churchill are advancing."
"Their formation is Wunderbar, isn't it?"
"Ha."
"It's amazing how they can keep up their speed and movement without breaking formation."
"Breaking through the frontal armor won't help much, no matter how much anti-armor ammunition we have, we won't be able to get enough for those beasts, I'll need time to perform a special magic seal."
"Don't worry about that, Benja. That's where tactics and skills come in, magic is the least of it."
"Heh, yeah, sorry girls. I'm really excited to be here."
"We are too, Benja. If you want to help, prevent accidents like you always have."
"Yeah, we better wake up Mako and the others before we lose sight of those tanks. I'll stay here and let you know if they change direction."
Two girls ran out to a tank wearing the same uniform, the difference was that one of them had short light brown hair and the other had a darker shade, only she had slightly curly hair.
"Mako, wake up. Start the engine, but try to make as little noise as possible." The brown-haired girl said, waking up the other girl who just groaned before starting the engine.
"Benja, get in, we have to go!" The same girl shouted making me run to the tank before getting in. I was wearing a male uniform with a white shirt and green pants.
"Get ready gunners, keep the cannons working at all times, it's not a test. Maintain your positions and avoid mortal damage." I said as the tank began to turn around. Around us were other tanks, some with graffiti, and even painted, the one that stood out the most was a striking red one that had banners on the sides.
"Understood!" These were the screams of the girls as we slowly began to leave the place.
"Damn I need to record this, everyone will get jealous seeing me in this." I said before taking out my icoffin and then exiting through the hatch, I slowly approached the front of the tank, holding on to the barrel before starting to record all the angles.
"Have you heard from Mr. Reinhardt?" A voice asked inside the tank.
"He says he sends his regards to everyone, and that he can't wait to see us in Germany." I said as I continued recording and even other girls in the tanks waved at the camera.
"So tell him we'll be there, destroying tanks." Mako said in a bored manner making me laugh.
"Listen up everyone. The five enemy Panzers are advancing. We've already discussed it, we're going to be the bait. Everyone else, stay together and stand by. Let's begin operation Stealth." The brown haired girl said with slight seriousness to all the other girls in the tanks.
"Understood!" It was the response of all the other girls before they separated from us, giving us free rein.
"Umm, what exactly are we going to do?" A girl inside the tank asked looking at the other girl.
"The plan is to open cover fire to catch the enemy tanks' attention and make them chase us. I wonder if everything will go well." The brown-haired girl was somewhat unsure as she watched the other girls leave.
"Don't worry, Miho. Your strategy is more than perfect, once we have everyone distracted, they won't notice the surprise attack. Also, if something happens, don't doubt that I will save their lives, it's my job." I said smiling looking at the girl, showing the medic badge on my arm, she blushed and nodded with a smile.
"Thank you, Benja." The other girls watched everything blankly and with a trembling eyebrow but then they saw my ears stand up.
"I hear the engines, they're not far away, prepare to act." I said seriously before entering the tank with the girls.
"Remember, if we lose we'll have to do the Ankou team dance." When I heard that, a chill ran down my spine due to fear and I wasn't the only one.
"God's punishment, I hope not." I said as my face turned red in embarrassment.
"It's our first battle, all we can do is give it our best." A black-haired girl said making us smile.
"Naturlich. We have to." An orange-haired girl said with the same smile.
"Just seeing a British Panzer move live makes me full of energy." The black-haired girl said with a huge smile looking at the battlefield in the distance.
"You sure look good, Uberhappy." We all looked ahead to see our driver, a black-haired girl who had a fixed gaze on the road, a gaze that was easily a carbon copy of Koneko.
"Come on Mako, it'll be fun, it's the first of many battles we'll have together." I said smiling looking at the girl. She looked at me and just nodded, making me laugh shyly.
"In the distance, I see you, everyone get ready!" When we heard Miho scream, we immediately closed the floodgates and entered the tank.
The British tanks continued their formation until they were suddenly interrupted when a loud explosion cut their path short. They slowly turned around and saw our tank in the distance and me standing at the hatch.
"Sorry, I got carried away." I said embarrassed with my hands smoking from a fire spell before entering the vehicle.
"Don't worry, honey. It's not like we wanted to blow them up either." Slowly our tank reversed and we retreated from the place as quickly as possible while the enemy tanks followed us from behind.
"We did it, they're following us!" I shouted looking at the enemy tanks from the periscope before seeing one of them fire.
"They're attacking us!" A loud explosion came after my shout as Mako continued to drive with nerves of steel.
"Zig-zag around as much as possible!" Miho shouted seriously as the enemies continued to open fire on us.
"Our armor is very thin, and with Benja's magic limited to only a few attacks, we can't afford a direct hit." The girl said seriously as we continued to advance through the chaos.
"Verstanden." Was the response we got from Mako, just before dodging another shot.
Gunshots echoed around the place along with the rocks of the mountain walls being shattered with each shot, all the girls and I remained serious in the face of the loud explosions while Mako continued to drive recklessly, following Miho's instructions to zigzag through the battlefield.
"Situation!?" I shouted looking at the orange haired girl, who quickly put her eyes on the periscope before seeing in horror a tank firing directly at us.
"A direct shot!." We all horrified to hear that and saw Miho at the hatch.
"Miho!." Without hesitation, I climbed out of another hatch before climbing up and extending my hands, ready to counterattack.
The moment was frozen and I slowly walked out with a nervous smile, wearing a Russian military uniform.
"Hi, I know what you're thinking. How did I get into this situation and how am I now with these girls. Well, dear readers, allow me to tell you how all this happened."
"What are you doing with that fucking uniform!?" A girl with greyish pigtails approached me, clearly upset.
"Anchovy, umm, I can explain." I said nervously seeing the whip in the girl's hand.
"I gave it to her, is there a problem with that!?" I turned to see another girl wearing a Russian hat.
"How dare you give that dirty vodka stained uniform to my fox!?" The pigtailed girl shouted angrily making the other girl laugh.
"Much better than having your dirty sauce stains on it, bitch." Those words were like more fuel to the fire as I was scared seeing a murderous aura around the Anchovy.
"Vai ad annegarti nella vodka, nano alcolizzato."Anchovy spoke in Italian with venom, which angered the blonde girl.
"Don't talk to me in another language, you spaghetti-eating bitch!" The Russian girl yelled coldly, glaring angrily at the other girl.
"Talk to me when you're older, you ice ass." Anchovy said mockingly, which made the other girl even angrier.
"Schitay sebya mertvym!."
The Russian girl didn't hesitate to jump on the other girl, starting a fight and making me sigh before looking at the camera.
"Um, let's start from the beginning." I said with a nervous smile before hearing engine noises.
"Not the tanks!" As I ran out, the camera quickly rewound to the day where it all began.
I love my life as a hero, I love the things I do, but if I have to admit something, it's that everything now is bland and boring to me. Throughout my life I had numerous teachers, moments of glory, pain and suffering, moments in which I thought I was going to die and where I came out victorious after giving a fight that I thought would be one I would lose. And throughout that time, I was obtaining skills, magic and even physical improvements that made me someone to be feared, I was never interested in fame, glory or recognition, I just like to help people. But of course, over time, that was declining more and more.
Right now I was in the same classroom, observing a mad science class with a bored expression. While the teacher was giving his class, I was doing nothing but throwing my pencil in the air and then catching it, higher and higher.
"Now remember, never mix ogre snot with dragon claw because otherwise..."
"We'll get an explosive chemical reaction capable of shrinking limbs at a rapid rate that would take 2 hours to disappear." I said bored looking at the master. Everyone stared at me while the man in the leather mask nodded.
"Umm, right, Mr. Escudero." The teacher said just before the bell started ringing. We all stood up and left the classroom with murmurs.
"Benja, is everything okay?" I turned to see Draculaura who was looking at me with concern.
"Dude, ever since we arrived you've been acting like a zombie." Clawd said looking at me with concern, but then he heard the angry growls of a group of zombies walking through the halls.
"I'm sorry guys it's just that. Ugh, I think I'm getting tired of all this." My words had the same impact as a bomb, because suddenly, everyone went cold upon hearing what I said. Due to my nerves, I dragged the two monster boys to an empty classroom.
"Listen, don't get me wrong, I love Monster High, and I love this town. It's just that, I feel like I'm getting tired of the same old daily routine. Fighting crime, training, learning spells with Zeoticus and Sirzechs, then rehearsing, drawing, going to press conferences, really, I'm going to go crazy." I said tiredly before plopping down on a chair.
"Well, why don't we go to the mall this afternoon? That might cheer you up." Draculaura said looking at me with a smile but I shook my head.
"We went to the mall yesterday for a shoe sale." I said bored, which made the vampire girl bite her lip uneasily.
"What if we go play a basketball game? We're on a roll against the Central City vampires." Clawd said with a smile bumping his fist with his open hand.
"We went last week and brought back the cup by a few points." I took out my icoffin and showed a picture of the boys and me raising the cup while Clawd shook hands with a vampire. That of course, caused discomfort in the two monsters who looked at each other without knowing what to say.
"Attention Monster High students, we have a notice for everyone." Bloodgood's voice caught our attention making the students stop what they were doing to listen to the announcement.
"The day has come, dear students. Today you will share your talents with the world through this year's exchange student registrations. This year we have a wide variety of registrations open to many schools around the world, representatives from said schools will be waiting for you in the school gym where you can talk to them and get to know their new schools. We wish you all the best of luck." Big Band said through the speakers before cutting off the transmission.
"Hey, that might work. I remember before I met Benja I went on a trip to Japan for the first time to study and I felt like never before." Draculaura said looking at me with a smile but I was unsure.
"I don't know, sis. I love the idea but, I don't even know if Jack..."
"Forget about it, we have to go to registration before it closes!"
Before I could even finish speaking, the vampire girl along with Clawd pulled me out of the empty classroom before running to the gym for registration.
The place seemed to be bursting at the seams with all the students gathered around. The entire gymnasium was filled with stands from different countries, each school representative wearing flashy or traditional uniforms from their countries as they talked to the students.
"Wow, that's a lot of options." I said in amazement looking at the gigantic variety of places to go.
"Look Benja, Japan! You love this country." The vampire girl said before pointing out a Japanese school to me, causing me to laugh awkwardly.
"Draculaura, I've been to Japan before, many times." The girl, realizing this, laughed shyly as she forgot that detail.
"Draculaura, let's let Benja choose where to go. Let's see what other places are open." Clawd said with a smile, making the vampire girl nod.
"Yeah, you're right, I'll see you later, bro." Once the couple left, I was left there alone, stranded in a sea of monsters and humans, who were all walking in search of a new adventure for everyone.
The options left me dizzy, so many countries to visit, so many schools, it was impossible for me to choose just one. Russia, Germany, Jamaica, Korea, Austria, India, the options were huge and varied. My legs moved aimlessly while my mind made me rethink if I really had the right option or not, that only bothered me because it did not help at all to decide.
"I recognize that look." I turned to see a girl in a school uniform with brown hair with two pigtails accompanied by another girl in the same uniform with her hair tied in a ponytail.
"You're a girl who seeks action and adventure, huh?" The girl with pigtails asked with a smile, causing a nervous laugh in me.
"I'm a boy." Before continuing to speak, she took my hand and dragged me to the seat.
"Come with me!" The girl shouted with a smile before sitting in front of me before making me sit in front of her and her partner.
"Let me introduce myself, my name is Anzu Kadotami, and the girl next to me is called Yuzu Koyama. We are students of Oarai Academy, an academy exclusively for girls, allow me to show you a unique opportunity for you." Anzu said with a smile before handing me a brochure.
"But."
"Look!" I was interrupted again by the girl, who opened the brochure, I was surprised to see that it was much bigger than a standard one, filled with so many photographs that it made me dizzy.
"Do you see that!? Our school is one of the most popular and the most beloved in our city, and it is for a special cause, for this!" The girl shouted before showing me something that left me even more surprised, photos of students riding military tanks with happy and smiling attitudes.
"Our school does not study a specific area, but if what you are looking for is something more than silly history books, then let me show you the things you can do at our school. Tank driving, specialized classes in tank driving, assembly classes and much more, all at our academy. And if that does not surprise you, then let me tell you that it is not surprising to me, because I have one last thing to show you." Anzu now showed me images of other girls in different uniforms, fighting each other, which surprised me even more but at the same time worried me.
"But, they don't get hurt?" I asked worriedly, making the girl laugh.
"You're joking, right? We don't use live ammunition, in these fights we use special ammunition that only damages tanks, not people." The girl said before showing me the registration sheet, surprisingly empty.
"So? What are you waiting for? This is a golden opportunity for a girl like you. If what you were looking for was a way out of the daily routine, then this is the way out you're looking for." Anzu said with a smile looking at me.
"But, I already told you that I'm a boy and..." I stayed silent for a moment, remembering what I had just seen and heard.
This academy, perhaps it was what I needed. I opened the brochure again and stared at the itinerary and the photographs. I bit my lip with fear and nerves. This was a school exclusively for girls, and I had no idea if they would make an exception for me because I was a boy.
"I. I don't know if I can do this." I said before trying to return the registration sheet, but Anzu stopped me with a smile.
"Nonsense. I can see that you are a monster like everyone else here, so for your information, it doesn't matter if you are a monster or not, our doors are always open to new generations." The girl said with a smile making me stare at the registration form before smiling and taking a pencil.
"I think, I think I'll do it." My words made the two girls happy as I filled out the sheet with my information.
"That's the attitude, I can't wait to see you on the battlefield." Anzu said with a smile before watching as I left the clipboard on the table.
"Thank you very much for this. When will I start?" I asked curiously, making the girl laugh.
"The ship will arrive here at dawn tomorrow, so I would advise you to go pack your things and get ready." Anzu said with a smile, leaving me surprised and now worried.
"Tomorrow!?. Specters, I have a lot to do, see you soon!" I yelled before running out of the gym to go to the headquarters.
"That girl has potential." The pigtailed girl said with a smile looking at me.
"Boy." Anzu turned to look at Yuzu, who nervously showed her the registration form. When the brown-haired girl looked at the form, her smile slowly faded and was replaced by a nervous and embarrassed grimace.
"Wait, let me see if I got this straight. You're going on a trip to an all-girls academy?"
The first thing I did when I got to the base was to find Jack and Reyes to talk before going to my room to pack my things. The two adults were now watching as I looked for my things and packed them.
"Yes, I know, it's a terrible idea, because if the girls find out about this they can even lock me in their rooms forever. But please, I beg you, I really need this." I said as I ran with a mountain of clothes in my hands.
"Do you need more girls?" Soldier 76 asked mockingly, making me turn red.
"No! I'm not talking about girls, I'm talking." I stopped short before dropping onto the bed with them.
"I'm talking about myself. Don't get me wrong, I love my life the way it is, but I need space, I want to do something new, and I think this academy has what I need. It'll only be a few months, plus, with the protection of the factions, the city and the world are protected, not to mention that they have my number and I'll be back as soon as possible." I said looking at the two veterans who looked at each other.
"Do the girls know about this?" Reaper asked seriously looking at me. That question was a bullet for me and I showed a nervous smile.
"I, umm." The two veterans sighed, clearly disappointed in me.
"Benja, you can't make a decision without them finding out." Reyes said seriously looking at me making me sigh.
"I know, but, I don't know how they will take this news if I tell them I'm leaving for another academy." I said looking at the ground with regret.
"Could you start by telling us first." I turned surprised to see Diana, Parasoul and Frankie.
"Draculaura told us everything, Benja. You should have told us how overwhelmed you were with all your responsibilities." The Amazon warrior said as she sat next to me before taking my hands in fear.
"I didn't want them to find out about this, you care a lot about me and I didn't want to scare you." I said looking at the blue haired girl, but then I heard a sacrastic "Ha" from Parasoul as she knelt in front of me.
"Benja, love, what would really scare us is if you couldn't stand what you're doing anymore and exploded in anguish. We care about your happiness as much as you care about ours." The redhead girl said with a smile looking at me while Frankie approached smiling.
"If doing this is what you need to relax, then we'll let you go so you can finally rest." the stein girl said with a smile making me smile.
"Thanks girls. I'll go put my guitar away, I may go to a new school, but if there's a music club I won't hesitate to join." I said smiling before running off to get my instrument.
"You surprise me girls, I thought you were going to explode like time bombs." Jack said surprised looking at the two girls.
"Well, if we're going to be Benja's future wives, we should learn to be understanding too." Diana said with a smile looking at the man.
"Fine, I'll go prepare the paperwork for Benja's trip, come on Jack." Reyes said before leaving the room, leaving the three girls behind.
"I want Benja's clothes!" the three girls spoke at the same time before jumping on my closet.
"Put that down, it's mine!"
"Get your hands off that shirt, Benja wore it on our date!"
"Fuck you, Diana, I saw it first!"
"Really. But really, is this really possible?"
Anzu and Yuzu were now at Sweet Justice having some ice cream outside the establishment while the pigtailed girl looked with some bitterness at the registration form where only my name was on it.
"This was worse than last year. Ugh, let's forget about today's mistake, we can't take a boy to the academy." Anzu said firmly before leaving the form on the table.
"Anzu, umm, listen, I don't want to be the one to tell you but." The other girl was nervous, she took a breath and then sighed before showing a letter with her hand shaking, Anzu saw the letter and took it before looking at it for a moment and then opening it.
"Dear Miss Kadotani. We are writing this letter to inform you that the council will not wait any longer for Ooarai Academy to resume operations. We have received news of many students who have decided to drop out of the academy and even the closure of many academic clubs. We understand that you are going through difficult times, but we cannot let these things pass as if they were nothing."
"It pains us to say this. But if there is no improvement at Ooarai Academy, we will have no choice but to close it forever. Personally, I do not want to be forced to close the academy, but time is running out and with it the options. I will try to buy time, but I can only guarantee that it will be a few months. You have been warned. If Ooarai Academy shows no signs of improvement, this may be the last year for all of you."
"Signed, The High Academic Council."
When Anzu finished reading that note, the girl lowered her head in defeat with a depressive aura.
"This is a horrible nightmare, how did we get so low?" The girl asked sadly looking at the letter.
"Don't be depressed, Anzu. We still have one more chance, besides, with this new student, we might have more chances." Yuzu said with a smile making the other girl look at my name on the registration form, a bitter sigh left the girl's lips before grabbing her ice cream.
"So sei es." Yuzu's eyes sparkled with joy at Anzu's words before she began eating the ice cream with the girl. Something told them that tomorrow would be a busy and fun day.
The day arrived. We were all gathered at the Metropolis docks about to see me leave and I couldn't be happier and more excited.
"I can't believe it, this is so exciting, I feel like I'm going to short-circuit!" I screamed with happiness and accidentally ended up releasing a strong electric shock, leaving the city without electricity. Seeing that, I got scared and immediately returned the energy with an electric spell.
"I'm sorry!" I shouted embarrassed to the numerous citizens who looked at me somewhat upset.
"I've never seen Benja so excited as that time we told him we were going on a trip to the mountains in hell." Venelana said seeing me so energetic and lively.
"Ha, Benja is really excited to go to a new school." Reinhardt said with a smile looking at me.
"Remember bro. You bring clothes for any occasion, chargers, icoffin, backup cell phone, your ink and stamp papers, acupuncture kits, swords, knife sharpener." Draculaura started to name me items that I was going to need, making us all have a drop of sweat anime style.
"Draculaura." I immediately interrupted the vampire girl before she could continue speaking.
"I'm just going to a new school, a normal one. I'm not going to war." I said with a shy smile looking at the girl, who laughed embarrassed.
"That reminds me, when will the ship that will take you to the academy arrive?" Lucio asked looking at me curiously. I searched my pockets until I pulled out the pamphlet to read it.
"I don't know. It doesn't say anything about a ship here, and it's strange, is it a short trip?" I asked confused looking at everyone but then we all felt a tremor on the dock.
We all turned around and what we saw left us with our mouths open, literally. If I ever wondered what a steel colossus would look like, now I had it in front of me. What was approaching the dock was an aircraft carrier of enormous size, the enormous steel giant was the same height as Lex Luthor's building and the width of the city or even more, I had no doubt that Metropolis could fit there with absurd ease and even Kuou.
"Holy mother of god." I said shocked seeing the enormous ship in front of us, which made the dock look like the most insignificant thing of all.
We all watched as a cargo elevator slowly lowered itself to the dock making it clear that this was the only way up.
"Good luck Benja." Jack said with a smile looking at me, a gesture I returned.
"Thank you all. I promise I'll write to you all every day." I said smiling looking at everyone before hugging them.
"Sigma, don't you have something to say to Benja?" Moira asked mockingly, which made the man nervous, who looked at me with some fear before taking a deep breath and sighing.
"When, a star moves away from its orbit. No, that sounds terrible, umm, When two stars." Sigma was speechless when I hugged him tightly, a gesture that left him frozen.
"I'm going to miss you too." I said smiling while the man slowly hugged me with a smile.
"Take care of yourself, our little fox." Venelana said before hugging me along with Zeoticus.
"Don't forget to train." The red-haired man said as I climbed onto the cargo elevator.
"Take care everyone, I love you!" The cargo elevator began to rise as I waved to everyone one last time before the carrier began to move again.
When I reached the top I expected to see fighter planes, or soldiers moving around, but when I turned around I saw with amazement that instead of everything I thought, what was in front of me was a fully functional city. Children walking with their mothers, old people walking calmly feeding seagulls, and vehicles circulating without any difficulty.
"Impressive, right?" I turned to see Anzu and Yuzu at my side.
"Welcome to your new home, Benja. Come, we will show you the neighborhood where you will stay." The girl with pigtails said before starting to walk and I followed her.
"How is this possible? I have never seen such a gigantic aircraft carrier." I said still amazed seeing the fully functional city despite being on board a ship, my words made the two girls laugh before looking at me.
"Surprised, huh? Well, many people are surprised to be here for the first time. And surely you have many questions, right?" Anzu asked with a mocking smile before walking again.
"How do these houses have electricity?" I asked looking at the working houses.
"The ship itself uses gasoline like any other, but it also uses a hydroelectric system that feeds the energy of the houses in this city, of course, the aircraft carrier also uses this energy but when we have to set sail again we must use the fuel we have before sailing the open sea." said Anzu with a smile as the three of us passed in front of a bakery.
"How can they survive storms?" I asked with some fear but the girl showed me a confident smile.
"We are not afraid of that, whether it rains or shines, this beast can never be brought down, although of course, many times when we have heavy rains we advise everyone to stay in their homes, but only that, you already saw the size of this boat, the waves cannot hit us so we are safe." Anzu said with a smile while Yuzu turned to look at me with a smile.
"Of course, there are days when we have to close the school due to heavy rain, all for the good of the students," said the girl as we continued the tour.
"And how do they manage to have food being so far from the coasts?" I asked curiously looking at the supermarkets and stores nearby.
"That's easy. This aircraft carrier was modified so that we can grow vegetables and fruits, as for meat, although we don't have wide access like pigs or beef, every day the fishermen of our city catch approximately one hundred thousand to two thousand fish per week, obviously they are careful in selecting the fish that will be consumed and those that will return to the sea, in total two hundred kilos of fish are distributed in schools and convenience stores. Also when we arrive at a new city we make sure to gather the necessary supplies for an upcoming trip." Anzu said with a smile looking ahead, leaving me amazed.
"Wow, they must have a lot of credit to get everything they have." I said looking at the city, not noticing that the girl's smile faltered when she heard what I said.
"Yes, a lot of credit." The girl said with a nervous smile as we slowly approached an apartment complex.
"Alright, enough questions for today. I present to you your new home where you will be staying these next few months." Anzu said before opening a door that led to my home. The apartment itself was a standard one like any Japanese apartment complex, but that didn't displease me, what I liked the most was a beautiful view that looked out to the sea.
"Classes start in an hour. I advise you to leave your things and unpack them at another time, make yourself comfortable, we will be waiting for you there." Anzu said with a smile as I entered the apartment.
"Thank you very much for this. I promise I will do my best." I said smiling as I walked further into the house.
"We look forward to that." The pigtailed girl whispered softly before closing the door leaving me alone.
I looked around the room with a smile before opening the window. The seagulls' song and the sound of the ocean made me feel calm. I closed my eyes to concentrate and listen to the city in the distance, and suddenly, I felt my heart at peace.
Nothing. Robberies, street fights, screams of panic, not even the sound of high speed chases. I sighed deeply before letting myself fall on the bed.
"Gods, thank you for this gift. I never thought my ears would be as relaxed as they are now, no gunshots, no terror in the streets, I feel like I'm in heaven now." I said with a calm smile before starting to stretch like a feline but then I noticed something that caught my attention, a black package on my desk. I got out of bed before approaching it with curiosity, the package had my name written on it.
"And this?" I slowly opened the package and saw that it was my school uniform. When I took it out of the box I saw that it was a simple shirt with a dark green tie with lighter green pants, without thinking I put on the uniform before approaching the mirror to see myself, I smiled calmly looking at myself in the mirror.
"Today will be a great day, I have no doubt about that."
Anzu was looking at the apartment complex from an office with the help of some binoculars before turning to see Yuzu and another girl.
"We have a big year ahead of us today, ladies." The girl said with a smile before putting a lollipop in her mouth.
"A boy is really joining us today?" A girl with glasses asked with some seriousness looking at Anzu, who was carefree.
"That's right. I already talked to Miss BloodGood from Monster High School, and I can say that this student has it all." The girl with pigtails said with a smile.
"The board of directors may not be in full agreement on this." The girl with glasses said with more seriousness, making Anzu become a little more serious.
"I'll take care of that shit later. Right now we have other things to do, in the meantime, it would be better to prepare the auditorium and the presentations before the last recess." The two girls in front of Anzu nodded before leaving the office, the girl with pigtails turned in her bed to look again at the apartment complex where I was and then glanced at the letter that was sent to her yesterday, a bitter sigh left her mouth before she turned away and returned to her desk to work.
I left my apartment with a calm smile, it was a strange and pleasant feeling to leave the house without having to run out to stop a thief.
"What a beautiful morning." I said before closing the door of my apartment before looking at myself for a moment, using the front camera of my icoffin. I stared at my tails, ears and fangs with some fear.
"I just hope no one gets scared." I said with some fear before hearing a door close, when I turned I saw a brown-haired girl wearing the same uniform as Anzy and Yuzu. The girl was ready to leave but then stopped before walking back to the door, making sure it was closed, but then she froze when she saw me.
The silence stretched out awkwardly, only being broken by the sound of the sea and the seagulls passing by, my ears lowered from nerves due to the look of amazement and shock of the girl in front of me.
"Umm, good morning?" I said shyly, causing the girl to come back to her senses.
"Umm, good morning." The girl said with the same shyness and nervousness as me. Silence reigned between the two of us again, I had no idea how to make a good impression at this moment.
"I umm, my name is Benja." I said shyly before extending my hand. She saw my extended hand and shyly accepted the gesture with a small smile.
"My name is, Miho Nishizumi." The girl said as the two of us had a good handshake.
"It's nice to meet you, Miho." I said smiling with a little more confidence, she noticed my uniform and then looked at me.
"Are you going to Ooarai Academy?" The girl asked in surprise making me nod.
"Yes, I registered yesterday and they said they were going to pick me up this morning. Although I'm nervous, I don't know if I'll be able to fit in." I said worried. Everything was perfect, but what I was worried about now was the girls' school. The mere thought of all the girls being like those at Kuou Academy or worse was already generating fear in me, and without realizing it I released electric sparks that surprised Miho a lot.
"I'm so sorry! It happens to me when I get really nervous." I said shyly as my ears dropped again.
"Well, if you don't want to draw too much attention, you could hide your ears and tails." Miho said looking at me with a shy smile. I looked at myself for a moment and then at the girl, if just seeing me was enough to shock her, I didn't want to know how she would react seeing me using magic.
"Yeah, umm, you're right." I closed my eyes and slowly a turquoise aura covered me. The girl watched in amazement as my ears and tails slowly disappeared, leaving me as a normal student.
"Wow." The girl said in amazement at what I did but I got a little nervous and embarrassed.
"I look better like this, right?" I asked shyly making the girl nod.
"Much better." Miho said with a slightly calmer smile making me smile with some blush.
"Thank you and umm, I would appreciate it if you please don't talk about this with anyone, this stays between the two of us, okay?" I asked with some seriousness making the girl nod.
"Yeah, I promise." The girl said with a smile making me nod.
"Thanks, and umm. Do you mind if we go to school together? I just don't know the way." I said with a shy smile making Miho nod.
"Yeah, no problem, let's go." The two of us started walking to the stairs before reaching the street.
As we walked, I looked around with a calm smile being able to enjoy walking at a slow pace without the chaos being present.
"This city is really quiet." I said smiling looking at the sky making Miho nod.
"That's right, it's really quiet." The girl said with a smile. Then the two of us almost melted as we smelled the sweet aroma of freshly baked bread.
"Gut, Gut. The smell of freshly baked bread." Miho said in wonder before turning around and seeing the bakery we just passed.
"I think I'll come back later for some sweet buns." I said smiling, also enchanted by the sweet aroma of bread.
"You should, they're really good buns, especially the sweet bean ones." Miho said with a smile as the two of us continued walking. Suddenly, the girl's attention was stolen when she saw a convenience store, leaving her in deep thought.
"Mm, now that I think about it, we don't have many Sunkus at home." The girl said looking at the store, that strongly caught my attention.
"Sunkus?" I asked curiously making the girl laugh somewhat embarrassed.
"I meant..."
Without both of us realizing it, we ended up crashing into a traffic sign while being distracted talking.
"Miho, are you okay?" I asked worriedly looking at the girl, who laughed somewhat embarrassed.
"Yes, don't worry. Are you okay?" The girl asked with a soft smile making me nod.
"Yes, thanks for worrying." When we both stood up, we could see the sign we crashed into and couldn't help but have a drop of anime-style sweat when we saw the road sign that showed some humanoid fish.
"It's ugly but cute at the same time." Miho said with a nervous smile making me nod.
"What are you having for lunch today?" Our attention was now directed to a group of girls who were calmly passing by us.
"I wonder what I should have." As the girls left, I could see some distress on Miho's face which worried me but then I smiled a little.
"Hey, Miho. Do you want to have lunch with me later?" I asked with a smile, surprising the girl.
"Really? I'd love to." The brown-haired girl said with a smile making me smile more.
"Great, let's go, surely classes will start soon." Miho nodded at what I said and the two of us went to school together, enjoying the breeze and the quiet.
As much as I wanted to stay calm, my instincts were altered as if I was now on a battlefield and the girls now in front of me were going to execute me at any moment.
"Come on Benja, you can do it." I saw Miho supporting me from her chair in a low voice making me smile with a little more confidence.
"My name is Benjamin Escudero. I'm a transfer student from Metropolis, I hope we can get along." I said with a shaky smile as I bowed in front of all the girls. I closed my eyes nervously, praying to god that nothing bad would happen.
"Girls, are there any questions you want to ask Benja?" The teacher asked looking at her students.
"What do your parents do for a living?" I raised my head to see a girl raise her hand with a gentle smile.
"Is your hair natural or dyed?" Another girl raised her hand with the same smile.
"What beautiful eyes! Are they natural or do you wear contact lenses?"
"What do you like to do?"
"What do you do for a living?."
I was very happy to hear the questions, for the first time no one was asking anything daring or out of place. Miho watched with a smile as I slowly answered the questions with a smile, she was stunned like everyone else when I said that my white hair was natural and my eyes were magenta. So the presentation continued before moving on to the normal class where everything went on normally, which was a huge relief for me while I was sitting next to the brown-haired girl who was also just as calm as me.
The bell rang, it was time for recess and most of the girls in the classroom had already gone to the hallways and others were chatting among themselves.
"I wonder what's for lunch today."
"Let's go buy Brot and eat it on the roof."
These were the talks the girls had among themselves while I put my things away before seeing Miho.
"Miho, are we going to have lunch?" I asked with a smile making the girl nod.
"Yeah, I wonder what we're having today." But when she stood up, she dropped her pink pen.
"Damn." Miho said somewhat annoyed before bending down to retrieve the pen, but accidentally hit her head on her desk, letting the rest of the supplies fall.
"Miho, let me help you." I said before walking over to help the girl pick up her supplies. Once we were done, we were both ready to leave.
"Excuse me. Would you like to have lunch with us?" Miho and I turned to see two other girls. One of them had light brown hair with brown eyes, and the second girl was tall with black hair and greyish eyes.
"Come on, Saori. Don't put so much pressure on Nishizumi and Escudero." The black-haired girl said, making the other girl laugh shyly.
"I'm so sorry." Saori said with a nervous smile looking at us.
"Please, let me ask it a bit better. Would you like to join us for lunch?" The girl asked with a gentle smile, taking Miho and I by surprise as we weren't expecting this.
"Are you serious?" The brown-haired girl beside me asked, looking at the other two girls, who nodded with a smile.
"Benja, what do you think?" Miho looked at me with some doubt and fear. I stared at the two girls wondering if this wasn't a cruel hazing, but they spoke in such a confident and gentle way that it made me smile.
"Yes, we accept." The two girls smiled happily as did Miho as the four of us walked out of the classroom, heading to the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was large and spacious, in my opinion, it was just as big as the main dining hall in Overwatch. Although I couldn't deny that it was a bit overwhelming being the only guy in this academy, I was happy that all the girls were kind and polite, it reminded me of my first days at Kawakami Academy.
"We took a girl and a boy today." Saoi said with a smile as the four of us stood in line, receiving our lunches.
"We've been wanting to talk to you two all morning." The black-haired girl said looking at Miho and I, drawing our attention greatly.
"Really? Why?" I asked curiously looking at the girls, Miho also seemed to want to know why they wanted to know so much about us.
"Well. We never thought that a boy would be accepted into this academy, and it's because boys are strictly forbidden, in fact, the former headmistress of the school announced that no man, not even a teacher or janitor would ever enter this academy. It's surprising that despite that strict rule you are here." The black-haired girl said, surprising me a lot to know the strict rules of the academy.
"And Nishizumi, she seems to be someone very funny." Saori said with a smile looking at Miho, who seemed to be staring at her plate in silence.
"Fun?" The girl asked shyly and with a weak smile, unable to believe what she heard.
"Yes/Ja." Were the answers she got from Saori, the black-haired girl and me.
"By the way, my name is..."
"Your name is Takebe Saori, your birthday is June 22nd." Miho spoke up before the other girl could finish speaking before looking at the other girl.
"And your name is Isuzu Hana, your birthday is December 16th." This left us surprised, as none of the three of us expected Miho to know so much about the girls next to us if they seemed to have never met before.
"That's right." Hana said with a smile looking at the brown-haired girl.
"It's amazing, you even remember our birthdays!" Saori said with a smile that made Miho laugh shyly.
"Ja, I checked the class register, so I knew I would have friends sometime." The girl said with a smile as we moved forward in the line.
"Isn't Nishizumi amazing, Hana?" Saori asked with a smile and then she smiled more when an idea crossed her mind.
"Genau, umm, if it's bothering you, could we call you by your name?" The brown haired girl asked with a smile, taking Miho by surprise but then she started to smile.
"That would be great, you're so kind!" I smiled happily seeing the three girls getting along. I had no doubt that this school would be fun and relaxing.
"Your mackerel, students." The girls and I watched as the cook would put a plate with a generous portion of mackerel which we received with pleasure, Miho, because of her happiness grabbed her tray and did a quick turn but by accident she would end up tripping and in reaction, Saori, Hana and I immediately had to catch her between laughs before going to the table.
"I'm so happy that today I got three good Freunde." Miho said with a smile as we sat down.
"I'm a little confused, why do you use other words from time to time?" I asked looking at the girls making them laugh.
"Forgive me Benja, Freunde means friends in German. Sorry if you feel a little dizzy mixing up words." The brown haired girl said with a smile, leaving me surprised but I smiled back.
"No problem, it's interesting, it just took me by surprise." I said with a small embarrassed giggle.
"Back to the topic, we thought you'd have a lot of friends here, Miho. We didn't think we'd find you alone." Hana said with a soft smile looking at the girl who laughed shyly.
"Not really. In fact, I moved here to Ooarai by myself." Miho said with a smile, surprising us.
"I see. Life can be a little strange, just like the long and endless love triangles of being rejected before you've even confessed, or finding out that the guy you're dating is going to see four other girls." Saori said with a smile making me smile a little nervously under my cup that I raised to drink some tea. I didn't want to imagine what the girls would think if they knew that in Metropolis I had girlfriends and fiancées, internally I decided that that topic would be the last one to talk about to avoid making everyone uncomfortable.
"Is something wrong with your family, Miho? Maybe some fight or an unexpected inheritance?" Hana asked with a soft smile looking at the brown-haired girl, who smiled a little less upon hearing that.
"That's not really..." The girl's words stuck in her throat without knowing how to continue.
"Oh I see, so your parents have gotten a different job?" Saori asked with a smile looking at the girl. The three of us noticed that Miho stopped smiling, which worried me a lot.
"Umm, how about after school I invite you to have tea at my house? I have a good porcelain set and I can make cookies." I said with a smile, trying to break the awkward situation.
"Yeah, that sounds wonderful. Now it would be better to eat before our food gets cold." Hana said with a smile, understanding the idea making the girls nod.
"Yeah." Saori, Hana and I felt a little better seeing Miho a little happier before we started eating lunch while chatting about trivial topics.
"Aren't we altering the information by doing this?"
"You worry too much, oh, and don't forget to involve the new guy in this."
"You're talking about Benja? But..."
"I know the risks and the huge repercussions of this decision, but believe me, I know what I'm doing. I'll fix this personally, right now we must hurry this up and get good results, there are times when breaking one or two rules can give great rewards."
"Jawhol. I'll start immediately."
I can say without lying, that today is a day of peace and quiet. No fire sirens, no police driving recklessly through the streets, no sightings of giant monsters or aliens wanting to invade us, all of this made me feel like I was on vacation.
"We should do something else outside of school." Saori said with a smile as the four of us were back in the classroom.
"What? How could we do? I feel like a high school girl!" Miho shouted with a smile making us laugh a little.
"It's because we're already in high school." The four of us laughed at the harmless joke, enjoying the break.
"That's it! I have a topic of conversation." Saori said with a smile but that smile went away when she saw me, which took me by surprise.
"It's a problem of mine. I feel like I'm very popular lately." The girl said with some sadness but then we saw Hana shake her head with a smile.
"Again with that, Saori?" The black-haired girl asked with a smile, while the other girl lowered her head.
"A lot of guys have been approaching me lately. What should I do?" Hearing that made me a little serious, was it harassment? Discreetly my fingers were already shuffling tarot cards.
"A lot?" Miho asked looking at Saori who shook her head.
"I mean, just in my neighborhood. Every day they greet me with a "Guten Morgen", or "Wei lauft."." Saori said looking at us with some fear but Hana shook her head with a smile.
"As I've been telling you, they are greetings." The black-haired girl said looking at the brown-haired girl, who stared at her.
"But surely they must be flirting with me." Saori said looking at her friend, who simply smiled.
"Yeah, sure." Miho and I were speechless upon hearing this, I discreetly put my cards away seeing that it was all a misunderstanding and internally tried not to laugh, and I could swear that Miho was also struggling not to laugh.
"Takebe, you are a very bright girl, maybe they just want to be your friend." The brown-haired girl said with a smile making me nod.
"That's true. I may have only known you for a few minutes, but I've only just realized that you're a nice girl and a good conversationalist." I said smiling, looking at the girl, who blushed and lowered her head.
"Benja, now you fell for my charms." The girls and I had a drop of anime-style sweat upon hearing that with nervous smiles. I won't deny it, Saori is an adorable and beautiful girl, but we were just getting to know each other, and there were still many things she should know about me.
"I think it's a good way if you can make friends quickly. I was really happy when you called me, I thought I made a wonderful friend!" Miho said with a smile, making the girl smile.
"You're great, Nishizumi." Hana said with a smile, that took the brown-haired girl by surprise, who shook her head, embarrassed.
"Nien, that's not true! Hana, you're always so calm, strong and also, so mature. I'm jealous." Miho said with a smile, surprising the black-haired girl.
"Please... I've been told so many times that I'm too strong." The girl said with some embarrassment in her smile looking at us.
"Really? At my school they always complained about me and told me that I didn't trust them, I wonder what I have to do to be like you." Miho said looking at Hana who laughed a little.
"Maybe it's because I've been making flower arrangements forever." Hana said with a smile, surprising Miho and I.
"That's amazing. I've always wanted to try that, it's good to be feminine and beautiful." The black-haired girl was surprised to hear that while the brown-haired girl next to me was still smiling happily.
"Thank you so much for being my Freunde. And thank you too, Benja, you're a good Freunde to me too." Miho said with a smile looking at me, making me smile.
"The pleasure is all ours." Hana said with a smile while she and Saori bowed slightly.
"You're a good friend to me too, Miho. I have no doubt that I'll love being at this school with my new friends." I said smiling, a gesture that the girls returned with the same kindness and happiness.
Before the conversation could continue, we heard firm footsteps entering the classroom that caught everyone's attention, inciting the girls and myself. When we turned around we saw Anzu being accompanied by Yuzu and another girl that reminded me of Tsubaki.
"The president?"
"What is the student council doing here?"
The murmurs of the other students didn't take long to come as the three girls looked around until the girl with glasses whispered something to Anzu before pointing at Miho and I, which made us tense.
"Hey, Nishizumi, Escudero, my dears." The girl with pigtails greeted with a smile before approaching us with the other girls.
"Um, Ha?" Miho didn't know what to say to everything that was happening, and neither did I, intermittently I was praying that Anzu hadn't changed her mind regarding my enrollment or that I made some mistake.
"She's the student council president. There's also the vice president and the public relations representative," Saori said quietly before the other girls reached us.
Miho and I shrank in our seats, maybe I was taller, but the way they looked at us made us feel like helpless ants facing giants.
"We have a topic to discuss between you two." Said the girl with glasses, where I could clearly see that only one of her eyes was wearing said object.
"Can we know what it is about?" I asked somewhat fearfully while the brown-haired girl next to me nodded with the same fear.
"Outside, please." Yuzu said with some seriousness, everyone stared at us while the five of us left the room while Saori and Hana looked worried and curious.
"What topic do we have to discuss?" Miho asked somewhat nervously looking at the girls, but then we saw Anzu approaching with a smile.
"It's time to choose our electives. So, you two will take a Panzerfahren, okay?" Those words confused me, but I saw that Miho looked even more terrified and nervous.
"Excuse me, but what exactly is a Panzerfahren?" I asked, looking at the girls, wanting to calm the situation down a bit.
"It refers to tank drivers." The monocled girl said seriously, making me shut up. Was that girl perhaps some sister of Tsubaki's that I didn't know?
"Um, I'm pretty sure that this school doesn't have Panzerfahren in their curriculum." Miho said somewhat nervously trying to get away but then she was intercepted by the girl who spoke to me moments ago.
"It's being brought back this year." That statement was another hard blow for the brown-haired girl, who was stunned.
"I came here specifically thinking that they wouldn't have any Panzers." The girl said with some fear, making Anzu laugh.
"It must be fate, then." The student council president said with a smile, but that didn't cheer Miho up in the slightest.
"But, I thought that I could choose my electives myself." The brown-haired girl said with a more broken voice, which worried me.
"Thanks for taking it! Now, Benja." I stiffened as I saw the girls were now looking at me.
"You look completely different from how I first saw you. But I'm not surprised." Anzu showed me a smile that made my blood run cold.
"Your principal told me that you know a lot of things, and you have a lot of tricks up those sleeves, or do you prefer the term, claws?" The girl asked with a smile, leaving me pale, my heart was pounding hard in my chest and my instincts were begging me to run away.
"We're going to have a lot to talk about. But don't worry, your little secret is safe with me." The pigtailed girl said before starting to walk with her group.
"See you later, students!" Was the last thing Anzu said before walking down the halls, leaving Miho and I completely pale and shocked with Saori and Hana looking at us in confusion.
What I thought would be a nice day now turned into a day of fear and tension for me. When I came out of my trance, I took Miho back to the classroom with the help of Hana and Saori, but as much as I wanted to concentrate on the class, it was impossible. How much did Anzu know about me? Did she know my past? Did she know my life? The questions pierced me like nails. But the one who worried me the most was Miho, she literally looked like a motionless statue with a lost look, I wasn't going to deny that I even felt a little scared because of how she was.
"Now, the next question. Miss Nishizumi." The teacher called the girl in a friendly manner. We all turned to see Miho, who continued with a lost look, something that worried me a lot, not only me, but also Hana and Saori.
"Miho, they're talking to you." Saori said, trying to break the brown-haired girl's trance, which worked as Miho jumped when her name was called.
"Are you okay? Please go to the infirmary." The teacher said, looking at the girl with some concern.
Hana, Saori and I were worried and scared when we saw Miho slowly walking to the door with a lost look, the three of us looked at each other with fear before raising our hands.
"Teacher, my head hurts a lot!" I said touching my forehead.
"Teacher, my stomach hurts a lot." Saori said touching her stomach with some discomfort.
"I have a chronic disease." Hana also raised her hand looking at the teacher, who was surprised and worried.
"Three girls and the new student seem to be krank today. You better rest and relax, I'll have to talk to the lady at the cafeteria."
The girls and I were now in the beds in the infirmary pretending to be unwell, at least in the case of Saori, Hana and me. The four of us heard the footsteps of the nurse leaving the room, leaving us completely alone.
"Miho, are you okay?" Saori asked worriedly looking at the other girl in the middle bed.
"Yeah, I think so." Miho tried to get up, but the other girls and I stopped her.
"You better stay lying down, you looked like you were going to faint in class." I said worriedly looking at the girl, who lay back down.
"Danke." Miho said with a weak smile, but it didn't stop worrying us.
"What did the president say to you to make you worry so much?" Saori asked curiously, looking at the brown-haired girl.
"Tell us if you don't mind, you can trust us." Hana said with a smile, looking at the girl, who looked at the ceiling in fear.
"She told me that they are reviving Panzerfahren." Miho said with some difficulty at the last part, drawing more of our attention.
"Panzerfahren? Like the traditional martial art reserved for women?" Hana asked curiously looking at the girl. Hearing that caught my attention a lot and I remembered the pictures in the pamphlets.
"But, what does that have to do with you?" Saori asked confused looking at Miho, who hid her face with the sheets.
"She told me to take up Panzerfahren." That surprised the two girls a lot when they heard that statement.
"But, why?" I asked looking at Miho curiously.
"Um... Well."
"Is this some kind of harassment? Oh, I get it! Are you in a love triangle with someone from the student council?" Saori asked abruptly, interrupting Miho.
"Nien!" The brown-haired girl immediately answered the other girl's question.
"If the idea of taking on a Panzerfahren is so difficult for you, then maybe you must be a seasoned war hero. Going one on one, extorting money and going on a rampage?" Hana asked with a smile, but Miho shook her head.
"Not really." The girl said with some uncertainty.
"So, what is it?" Saori asked staring at the girl, causing her to sigh in defeat.
"My family has a long history in Panzerfahren." When we heard that we were very surprised to know now that Miho's family had stories related to Panzerfahren.
"But I don't really have any good memories of all that. That's why I moved here, to avoid Panzer." Miho said in a depressed tone as she tightly grabbed her sheets.
"I understand now.." Hana said with some sadness looking at the girl.
"I see." Saori said with the same sadness and concern.
"Well, you don't have to do this if you don't want to." The girls looked at me while I stood up and sat down with Miho.
"Anzu has no right to force you to participate if you don't want to, we should talk to her later, maybe she'll understand and change her mind." I said looking at the girl with a smile.
"Benja is right, Miho." The girl turned to look at Saori.
"Besides, it's not like all the girls have to do it anymore." The brown-haired girl said with a smile, making Hana nod.
"If the student council keeps bothering you, we'll defend you." The black-haired girl said with a smile looking at Miho, who smiled again.
"Danke." The girl said with a smile, making us smile. Suddenly we all heard the sound of a bell and looked at the ceiling.
"Class is over. And I was feeling very comfortable right now." Hana said looking at her bed with some tiredness.
"Now we only have the classroom left." Saori said, but suddenly something caught our attention, the sound of an alarm.
"What's that?" We all looked at one of the school's megaphones, where the noise came out before stopping.
"To all students. Meeting in the gymnasium, I repeat, Meeting in the gymnasium. Everyone must attend compulsorily." The girls and I looked at each other not knowing what was going on, but we slowly started to get up to see what was happening.
We were all gathered in the gym now, no one knew what was going on and murmurs filled the place as the girls talked amongst themselves looking for some explanation to all this.
"What's going on?" Miho asked looking around.
"I don't know, I just hope it's nothing serious." I said looking at the situation with some seriousness.
"That's how they do these things." Hana said with a smile, making Miho smile.
"You take this too easily." The brown haired girl said with a smile.
"Quiet." We all stayed quiet and looked ahead where the student council girls were.
"Please, we'll ask you to keep your eyes on the screen to see an introduction to your required choice." The girl with the monocle said seriously. Yuzu nodded before signaling for a student to turn off the lights before stepping off the stage with Anzu and the other girl.
Our eyes were fixed on the screen as an ancient looking recording slowly played, Soari, Hana and I could see Miho tensing up as the screen showed "Introduction to Panzerfahren" before showing us an ancient looking military tank.
"Panzerfahren. This is tradition, this is culture, studied by girls all over the world to hone their character." As the narrator told the story, we all saw different tanks and then girls in military uniforms with cold, steady gazes at the camera.
"As such, this study is a martial art, to hone their grace and femininity." The video showed five girls bowing to the camera before turning around and bowing to the tank as well, once they were done, they put on their hats before running to the vehicle and entering with great skill in record time.
"Studying the art of Panzerfahren means studying what it means to be a woman. Hot and hard as steel, lovely as the rumble of iron rails, and the absolutely deadly passion of the main gun." We all jumped when we suddenly saw a tank being shot, I instinctively covered my ears because of the loud gunfire. My monster parts may be hidden, but my enhanced senses are not.
"If you learn to know the Panzer, you will be good wives, good mothers, and successful in business. When the body and spirit are solid and indomitable, the goodwill of countless men will surely be yours." I blushed deeply upon hearing that and lowered my head in shame while Saori was in awe as was Hana, but Miho, she was lowering her head, as if trying to disappear.
"Come on now! Let's study the Panzer and become beautiful and healthy women." The tape slowly panned to a platoon of moving tanks before ending with one last message directed to the girls "Come on, Madchen." I had to cover my ears again when a loud explosion filled the stage, taking us by surprise, but then we saw that on the screen there was now a record sheet.
"Wunderbar." Hana said, marveling at what we just witnessed as Anzu and the rest of the student council walked up on stage.
"Come, in a few years, the Panzerfahren World Cup will be held in Japan. The Ministry of Education ordered high schools and universities to strengthen Panzerfahren education." The monocled girl said before looking at Anzu, who smiled.
"That's why our school is also re-enrolling Panzerfahren. I'm more than sure that you won't regret taking it, right, vice president?" The pigtailed girl asked with a smile looking at Yuzu.
"Those with the highest grades will be given one hundred food coupons, 200 pardons for being late, and also, triple credits in all normal subjects!" When we heard that our eyes widened in shock, a gigantic reward indeed that was impossible to refuse.
"We're counting on you all!" Anzu shouted with a smile before leaving the stage with the other girls, leaving us shocked at everything we heard but also greatly exciting the girls.
"I'll do it!"
As we exited the gym, everyone was talking about participating in the Panzerfahren. Saori, Hana, and I were clearly surprised and excited after everything we saw, though of course, I was being realistic.
"I'm already hearing guys talking about strong and reliable girls these days. If I take the Panzer, don't you think I'll be super popular?" Saori asked with a huge smile full of enthusiasm before standing in front of Miho.
"Miho, you should participate too. Isn't it your family's tradition to take part in the Panzerfahren?" The brown-haired girl asked with a smile, taking the other girl by surprise, but then she lowered her head.
"But, I'd rather you not..."
"Actually, I understand Nishizumi well." We turned to see Hana, who looked at us with a soft smile.
"Flower arrangements are our tradition." The black-haired girl said, still keeping her smile.
"Really?" Miho asked curiously making Hana nod.
"Although, don't you think Panzerfahren is a wonder? I've always wanted to do more in my life than just making flower arrangements." Those words were like a cold bucket for Miho as we watched the girl stand in front of us.
"I'm going to take Panzerfahren too." Hana said with determination, leaving us surprised.
"Benja, you should participate too." Saori said with a smile but then she noticed that I laughed shyly.
"Girls, I'm a boy, technically they won't let me participate." I said with a nervous smile, taking the girl by surprise, who was now embarrassed.
"Damn, I forgot, I'm so sorry Benja." Saori said with her head down but I shook my head.
"It's okay, I'll look for another club in the academy, so don't worry." I said smiling looking at the girl.
"That won't be necessary."
We all turned around and saw Anzu walking over to us with an envelope in her hands.
"Anzu? Umm, is everything okay?" I asked a little nervously. The girl still scared me since I still didn't know what BloodGood told her.
"Benja. I regret to inform you that the clubs within Ooarai Academy are completely full, but I'm pretty sure, this will put a smile on your face." The pigtailed girl said before handing me the envelope. When I opened it, I could see some documents. I could see my student registration and my photo showing my Kitsune ears and tails in the Panzerfahren registration, that last thing left me in shock.
"I had to make a couple of moves, but I want to congratulate you, Benjamin. You will be the first male in the history of Panzerfahren to participate in this martial art." Anzu said with a smile. Leaving us even more surprised than we already were.
"But, how is that even possible!?" I yelled in surprise. I had no words to describe how amazed I was.
"Never underestimate the power of the student council, Benja. Anyway, the exam is inside the envelope, finish it and hand it in first thing tomorrow morning, I just hope there is no full moon for you." I was speechless upon hearing that as Anzu walked away nonchalantly, leaving Saori, Hana, and Miho somewhat confused.
"Benja, what did Anzu mean?" Hana asked in confusion but I quickly put the documents away.
"Nothing, nothing." I said nervously but then we were taken by surprise when we heard Saori's happy screams.
"Let's do it together!" The girl shouted with a smile looking at the three of them making me smile along with Hana before looking at Miho.
"I hope we can learn a lot from you, Nishizumi." Hana said with a smile as she bowed looking at the brown haired girl, who was surprised when Saori took her by the shoulders.
"If you take it, I'm sure you'd be the best in the class in an instant!" The brown haired girl shouted with a smile looking at Miho.
"I umm." I saw that Miho seemed to be very nervous and then I remembered what she told us before, which made me tense.
"Girls, umm, Miho must be tired, I'll walk her home, we're neighbors. It would be best to concentrate on our exams for tomorrow." I said looking at Hana and Saori.
"That's right, it's time to go. I think I saw the student council handing out the exams outside, we better hurry up before they're finished." Saori and Hana ran away at high speed while Miho and I went at a slow pace, I looked at the girl with concern, she was really affected by all this.
"You are aware of what you have done, right?"
Anzu watched from her office with a smile as everyone was gathered in search of their exams at the entrance of the school and even saw Hana, Saori, Miho and me in the crowd.
"What you just did was against the rules, when the high academic council finds out, it will be the end of us." The girl with the monocle said seriously, making Anzu sigh bitterly.
"Don't you get tired of being bitter, Momo? I know what I did, we'll be fine." The girl with pigtails said confidently looking out the window.
"But Momo is right. The other academies and even the council don't know anything about Benja, not only are we breaking countless rules, but we also had the nerve to forge their signatures." Yuzu said fearfully looking at Anzu, who turned to see the other two girls.
"Listen. I will personally talk to them, I have everything under control." The girl said with a smile. But Momo shook her head.
"This is beyond your control, Anzu. It was one thing to allow that boy to enter the school, and now to involve him in something like Panzerfahren is already beyond the limits allowed." The girl with the monocle said seriously, looking at the girl with pigtails.
"Anzu, Momo is right. We don't know how the others will take this news, they don't know anything about Benja's existence." Yuzu said worriedly, but then she was surprised to hear Anzu speak.
"I already took care of that. I sent a copy of Benja's academic record and all the academies he attended to all the other academies and the academic council." Those words surprised the two girls greatly.
"Does what you've done seem sensible to you!? You should have consulted me about this before doing such an action!" Momo shouted between anger and shock looking at Anzu, who remained unconcerned.
"If you had done that, you would have refused." Said the pigtailed girl with a smile, which annoyed the other girl.
"Of course I was going to refuse. You can't just come out and say you're letting a boy into the academy and then tell me you're going to involve him in a tradition strictly for women!" Momo shouted seriously, looking at Anzu, who turned to look at the entrance where all the students were slowly leaving.
"I'm doing it for everyone." Yuzu and Momo listened to Anzu speak seriously while she kept her gaze fixed.
"This academy is falling apart. Teachers, clubs, festivals that were cancelled, students who decided to leave us, this is our last chance to save our academy, I already gave him the exam and it's a matter of him accepting or not, besides, we still have Nishizumi with us, and with that we already have a guaranteed advantage. But even so, think about it, if the two of them get together in this, I have the feeling that Ooarai Academy will live." Anzu said with a smile before turning to look at the other two girls, who remained silent.
"I'll talk to the others to hold a video conference. I still have my doubts about this, but if this is the solution to save the academy, then so be it." Momo said before leaving the office a little more calmly, but without losing her cold and serious attitude.
"Anzu, do you think he will accept?" Yuzu asked, looking at the pigtailed girl with some fear.
"I'll talk to him tomorrow, tell him our situation and hopefully, he'll accept. After all, he's our little fox." Anzu looked at my picture on my Monster High student registration with a smile before watching the sunset with Yuzu.
The silence was endless in my room. My eyes were fixed on the exam, the exam was not what worried me, but Miho. When we wanted to leave, she tried by all means to refuse the exam, but the girls from the council said that it was mandatory and that there was no way to refuse the exam, all the way home, she was silent without even looking at me, which worried me the most. As much as I tried to cheer her up, my attempts only failed, and it continued until we reached our apartments.
"Miho." I left my pencil on the desk, it made me sad and worried to see how someone full of happiness and emotion was now nothing more than a person with a lost look like a soul in pain.
I got up and left my apartment without knowing what to do or say, my mind was now divided, between the dangerous curiosity in wanting to know Miho's past, with the duty to help her, but I was also worried, I saw how she was traumatized in every way, and I did not want to touch a subject that would harm our friendship.
I took a deep breath before walking to the door and nervously knocked on the door softly.
"Miho, are you awake?" I asked with some fear, but received no answer, making me sigh.
"Listen. I know I shouldn't get involved in matters that don't suit me, maybe I don't know your past, but I've seen that look so many times that it's the worst thing that happens to me in my life, because many people I know have gone through horrible times and even me. I won't ask you to tell me everything, but if at some point, you want to talk about this, my door will be open to help you." I said with concern looking at the door before sighing.
"Rest, Miho." I slowly returned to my apartment, not realizing that she was awake listening to everything on the other side. The girl was hugging a stuffed animal tightly in the silence of her room, her eyes were fixed on the exam while she wrapped her arms around the teddy bear as if her world was going to fall apart.
As her eyes were fixed on that exam, memories hit her mind like buckets of cold water hitting her face which only increased her nerves. The girl turned to look at her door before getting up and slowly walking to the entrance, but when she touched the doorknob her whole body froze, her grip began to weaken until she finally let go of the knob and walked back to her bed before hugging her teddy bear in the darkness and silence of her home.
I was staring at the Pazerfahren exam sheet thinking deeply about this decision, although, perhaps this would be an excellent way to take advantage of my vacation as a hero, Miho continued to worry me, it was very likely that the girl would ruin this and she would be left alone, something that worried me a lot. Suddenly, the image of Saori, Hana and me walking away, leaving Miho behind hit my mind, causing me to now look at the papers with distrust and sadness.
The two of us, separated by a wall, were staring blankly at the exams in front of us, with sadness and distrust clearly etched on our faces.
Nothing. Completely blank. Saori, Hana and I looked sadly at Miho's blank exam while the girl stared at the ground.
"I'm sorry. I just... can't do this." The girl's tears fell on her skirt, feeling unworthy of looking us in the eyes.
"I came here because I really wanted to not study Panzerfahren!" Miho said through tears looking at the ground before feeling a hand on her shoulder, looking up, she could see that I was showing a soft smile.
"It's okay." Saori said with a smile looking at Miho.
"We're so sorry. We made you go through all this." Hana said with the same smile. Suddenly, to Miho's amazement, she saw how her friends crossed out answers on their exams and even chose the wrong answers.
"We'll accompany you in your choice." Saori said with a smile, which surprised the brown-haired girl even more.
"Nien, Nien. You have to choose Panzerfahren! Benja, please, you will go there, tell them to change their minds." Miho said looking at me but I shook my head with a smile.
"I made the same decision." The girl was shocked when I took my test out of my backpack and it was blank.
"Why are you doing this!? You shouldn't give up because of me, that's not fair." Miho said looking at the three of them with surprise and concern.
"Don't worry, together is better." Saori said with a smile looking at the girl.
"Besides, maybe you'll start remembering things you don't want to if we do this." Hana said with a smile, which made Miho nervous.
"But, I'm fine." The brown-haired girl said but we shook our heads with a smile.
"Miho, we chose this by our own choice. And it's because we share the same thought, we don't want to hurt you and much less abandon you." The girl was surprised and slightly blushed while the other two girls nodded.
"Besides, I can just take what my boyfriend does." Saori said with a smile making the three laugh, Miho was shocked and slowly joined the rich ones.
Classes continued until recess, though it wasn't all that nice. Panzerfahren had a huge impact on the school, to the point where all the girls were talking about the same thing like it was the latest fad, right now, the girls and I were trying to have a quiet lunch, but it was almost impossible due to the many comments made regarding the Panzer theme.
"What have you chosen?"
"It was a difficult decision, but I went for the Panzer."
"No way, you too?"
"What do you think the Panzer will be like?"
"They say it's the way for girls."
Saori, Hana, Miho and I, though we didn't seem to, were having slight difficulties concentrating on lunch today due to the comments that were only increasing.
"Ha, who ever heard of a man driving a Panzer?"
"Yeah, those two don't go together."
"He says he wants to see me in my uniform."
"I can't wait to fire the cannon in a battle."
"Hey, but be careful, I heard that the new guy will be the first to drive a Panzer."
"No way, are you serious!? He will be the first among us?"
"BOOM!" Miho and I jumped when a girl slammed her table pretending to be shot by a tank.
"They used to have it here at school, the Panzer, I mean."
"Hey, don't you guys want to go get ice cream after school?" Saori asked with a nervous smile, trying to change the tense atmosphere between us.
"Ooarai is famous for its sweet potatoes." Hana said with the same smile looking at Miho and me.
"That sounds wonderful, I can't wait, and you, Miho?" I asked with some nervousness looking at the girl.
"Yeah, and you should try the dried potatoes too." The brown-haired girl said with a calmer smile.
"You know, something? There are people who call them dried potatoes." Saori said with a smile looking at Miho.
"I didn't know that." The girl said with a smile.
"Nishizumi Miho of standard education from class 2-A. I repeat, Nishizumi Miho of standard education from class 2-A. Please report to the student council room immediately." Everyone fell silent upon hearing Momo's voice over the speakers, Miho was clearly nervous upon hearing the order, but she saw the girls and I looking at her with a smile.
"What am I going to do?" The brown-haired girl asked nervously looking at us.
"We'll go with you." Saori said seriously looking at Miho.
"Don't be scared, Miho, we won't leave you in this alone." I said smiling looking at the girl.
"Please relax." The brown-haired girl felt better seeing how the girls and I put our hands on hers, giving her a sign of trust and loyalty, something that made the girl feel better.
"Do you want to explain to me what this means? Because it's clear that it wasn't an accident." Momo said seriously before showing us our test papers.
Upon arriving at the council office we were greeted by the coldness and seriousness of Momo and Anzu while Yuzu was the only worried one in the room, Miho was nervous but was a little calmer having Saori, Hana and I by her side to support her.
"Why don't you take it, Nishizumi?" The pigtailed girl asked seriously looking at her computer screen.
"Why do you have to force Miho to accept something that she refuses to do again?" I asked seriously, trying to keep my emotions at bay.
"Our school doesn't have anyone more experienced in Panzerfahren." Momo said seriously looking at us.
"This is the end. Our school is finished." Yuzu said fearfully, which confused me.
"What are you talking about?" I asked seriously before seeing Anzu staring at me.
"This school is falling apart. Over the past few years, academic performance has barely kept afloat, but it's not enough to get funds to keep this school in place. Many sporting events had to be cancelled, clubs were dissolved, some voluntarily and others we had to close by force, we had to make many staff cuts from teachers to janitors or cooks." The girl with pigtails said seriously, surprising me.
"But, does your principal even know about all this?" I asked surprised looking at the girl.
"Our principal resigned last year." I turned to see Yuzu, who was more nervous than before.
"Because of all the problems, the principal had to leave her position and leave this in the hands of the student council, that puts us in charge." Anzu said with a smile, leaving me more surprised and now, nervous.
"But, forcing Miho to do the Panzerfahren isn't fair, she can't do it and you can't force her." I said looking at the three girls with some seriousness I could muster from my nerves.
"We're doing this for the greater good, Benja. Just think about it." Anzu said with a smile but then she saw Saori stomping her foot on the ground.
"You can't be so selfish!" The red-haired girl shouted seriously looking at the pigtailed girl.
"Yes, are you going to force her even though she doesn't want to do it?" Hana asked seriously looking at the girl in front of us.
"She doesn't want to drive the Panzer, you can't force her." Saori said as she, Hana and I stepped forward as shields for Miho.
"Leave her alone, don't do this to her." I said seriously looking at Anzu who looked bored.
"Keep talking like that, and I'll expel all three of you." Those words left us cold, but I was upset when I heard that, to the point that my fangs were about to come out in anger.
"Using the power that was granted to you to give us that threat is cowardly." I said with venom while my eyes emitted a slight shine but that did not intimidate Anzu.
"She never makes empty threats, when the president says something, she follows through." Momo said seriously while the girl with pigtails showed us a smile that angered us even more.
"Well, I'm waiting for my apologies." Azncu said with a mocking smile looking at us. I couldn't help but growl because of the anger while Hana, Saori and I took another step forward.
"Please, we must not take this too far. Just apologize and accept this please." Yuzu said nervously looking at us.
"This is cruel!" Saori shouted angrily looking at Momo and Anzu.
"Not even Hitler's tyranny was as cruel as you guys." Hana said seriously looking at the girls.
"They abuse a power that does not concern them and they will use it to bully a student!?" I shouted annoyed while the shine in my eyes was more noticeable.
Miho was silent with her head down, listening to the girls and me defending her while Anzu and Momo continued to maintain their firm stance.
"Benja, Saori and Hana want to enter Panzerfahren, but right now, they're protecting me. They're doing it for me." The girl was whispering quietly between the angry shouts of the girls and me against the words of the student council girls.
"For me." Miho whispered with her heart pounding as she remembered the sound of the tanks being fired and their tread on the gravel in a firm and intimidating rumble. The memories were drilling into her mind, making her tremble, but then she started to remember yesterday, when she met me, she met Saori and Hana, my words of support yesterday and how today, the three of us decided to fail the exam to stay with her.
"Guys." Miho whispered with tears as she clenched her fists tightly in the middle of the argument.
"I've heard enough from you three. Benjamin, Hana, Saori. You're left.."
"Please wait!" Before Anzu could continue speaking, Miho shouted so loudly that it made us turn around to see the girl, who was wiping her tears before showing a serious look.
"I'll take the Panzerfahren!" The girl said firmly, surprising Hana, Saori and I a lot but also making the girls of the student council smile.
"Miho, you don't have to do this." I said surprised looking at the girl.
"Yes, you can't let them force you to do it." The red-haired girl said surprised looking at the brown-haired girl, but she looked at us with a smile.
"Doing it together, it'll be better." When we heard that, the girls and I smiled touched. I never thought that despite the trauma Miho had, she would be willing to do this with us, we didn't hold it back any longer and hugged the girl tightly with happy smiles.
"For Miho."
The sound of four spoons clashing was present in an ice cream shop with the sunset outside. Miho, Saori, Hana and I were now in the ice cream shop we talked about today at lunch, after a day of school that was difficult but with a happy ending.
"Miho, I'm still wondering, are you really sure about this?" Hana asked as the four of us sat at a table overlooking the sunset.
"Ha, you shouldn't try so hard." Saori said with some concern looking at the brown haired girl.
"I'll be fine...but." The girls and I looked at Miho, who was looking at her ice cream cone with some fear.
"I was really happy. You three did the best for me, that never happened to me before." The girl said with a smile that grew before looking at us.
"She's never really cared about how I feel before. My mom and sister naturally expected me to take up Panzerfahren. Well, it's just that those two are incredibly talented, but..." Miho slowly lowered her head sadly as she looked at the ice cream in a bitter manner.
"I'm not really..." The girl's words got stuck in her throat, but the girls and I instantly understood what she was trying to tell us.
"Miho, I'll tell you something." The girl turned to look at me curiously.
"You have nothing to fear. The four of us are in this together, until the end, although we can't deny that we might be very worried that you're willing to do this with us, we will help you at every moment if necessary, we won't let you carry everything alone. We're a family now." I said smiling looking at the girl. Miho looked at Saori and Hana who nodded, a pink blush appearing on the girl's cheeks as her heart beat very hard.
"Thank you guys, really, thank you." Miho said with a tear running down her cheek before she was surprised when Saori gave her a spoonful of her ice cream.
"My sweet potato ice cream has chocolate chips." The girl said with a smile making Hana laugh who also gave Miho a spoonful of ice cream.
"Mine has a hint of mint in it." the black haired girl said with a smile. I couldn't help but laugh before taking some of my ice cream to join the game.
"And mine has almonds in it." I said smiling before feeding it to the girl who blushed hard before laughing.
"So gut, all three of them are very delicious." Miho said with a smile looking at us.
"Give me some of yours too."
"Me too."
"Girls, we're going to eat all of Miho's ice cream."
"Never mind Benja, we'll attack yours later."
The room was filled with laughter from the four of us as we continued with our friendly game.
With the sun upon us on a new day, Miho, Saori, Hana and I were gathered in the courtyards of the academy with three other teams, one of six and the other two of four members.
"There are less than I expected." A girl in a sports uniform said looking around.
"There are 19 of us in total, 22 including us."
"It'll work."
"This will be fine."
The girls and I had our gaze fixed on the huge warehouses where inside, our Panzers were waiting for us.
"You seem very excited, Benja." Hana said with a smile looking at me, making me laugh a little.
"I can't help it, I get very excited when it comes to doing something new, and this has me excited." I said smiling looking at the girl.
"What am I going to do with my extra popularity?" Saori asked with a smile, making us laugh.
"Attention everyone." We all looked to the side and saw Anzu, Yuzu and Momo walking until they were in front of us.
"Panzerfahren Lessons will begin now." Momo said seriously as Yuzu and Anzu walked to the doors with some keys.
"Hey, are we about to receive a Panzer Tiger? Or maybe..."
"What was that again?"
Our gazes fell on the doors that were slowly opened, we all approached and what we saw surprised us. Inside there was nothing but a sad looking Panzer that had had years of glory before, the place clearly left its abandonment as there were work materials on the floor, tools and a gigantic accumulation of dirt and grime.
"What the hell?"
"This is just scrap metal."
"You've got to be kidding."
"There's modern art around here." Hana joined in the comments of the other girls while Miho walked to where the old tank was.
"This is just a pile of rust." Saori said looking at the black haired girl.
"Miho, what are you doing?" I asked, watching the girl walk over to where the Panzer was, examining it more closely.
"The armor and moving parts seem to be intact." Those words caught everyone's attention, who looked at the girl with curiosity while she turned to look at us with a smile.
"It's possible that we can pull this off." Miho said with a smile, leaving us all in awe and with a smile.
"Right on target." Anzu said with a smile watching as we all walked to where the tank was and examined it.
"Do you think Benja will be of help?" Momo asked seriously looking at the pigtailed girl.
"I know he is, and a lot." The girl said with a smile while a special memory came to her mind.
Flashback.
"This is the information you should know about Benjamin." Bloodgood said before handing a document to Anzu, who received it with a smile.
"We have heard rumors that this school has strictly forbidden boys for years, may I know what is the reason for this sudden change?" The woman asked with a raised eyebrow looking at the girl with pigtails, who was unconcerned.
"Time moves on and with it, customs change." Anzu said with a smile looking at the woman in front of her before looking at the papers inside the document.
"May we know for what purpose, will you let Benja enter your school?" Big Band asked with some seriousness while the girl looked through the papers.
"Our school needs help, a lot of help, and perhaps he has what we need, it seems that he is very valuable." Anzu said with a smile. The two adults looked at each other before nodding.
"Excuse me, Miss Anzu. But I'm afraid Benja may not be available to be an exchange student. He has an important duty in our city and must stay." Bloodgood said seriously before reaching out to take the documents again.
"A duty? And exactly what kind of duty?" Anzu asked with a smile looking at the woman in front of her.
"It's private. We're very sorry if our students didn't want to join your academy, but I'm afraid Benja won't be able to go with you. I'll ask you to please leave." Big Band said seriously looking at Anzu. But suddenly everyone heard something fall and turned around to see Yuzu fall to the ground among a mountain of books.
"Please excuse me, I wanted to take a book to read and I dropped them all." The girl said embarrassedly as the two adults walked to help her.
"Are you okay sweetheart?"
"You didn't hurt yourself, miss?"
While the adults helped Yuzu, Anzu didn't hesitate to take my documents and put them in her backpack before standing up and feigning ignorance.
"Yuzu, let me help you with those books."
End of Flashback.
"I still think what we did wasn't right." Yuzu said somewhat fearfully looking at Anzu.
"Benja signed the enrollment form and his principal didn't want to accept it, we practically freed a student from a forced duty." The pigtailed girl said with a smile before putting a lollipop in her mouth.
"That's one way of putting it. Although don't you think that this supposed "duty" that he has to fulfill in his city isn't a very important one?" Momo asked with some seriousness but Anzu shrugged.
"Duty or not, maybe others can take care of that. Besides, he seems really excited and happy about this, why let them kill that?" The girl asked with a smile looking at her friends, who remained silent.
"Well. I guess it's unfair that a student doesn't have the right to leave a school if he wants to go to another one." Yuzu said watching as Hana and I watched the Panzer's cannons.
"Even so, even if you give Benja permission to participate, we still have to see what the others think. And it won't be easy to convince them, it will be an almost impossible task." Momo said seriously, looking at Anzu, who showed a smile.
"Reject a hybrid monster with a background like the one you read? I highly doubt it, ladies. This is just the beginning of something big, I have a feeling." The three girls looked at the warehouse where all the girls and I were gathered. The Panzerfarhen had returned, a veteran and a monster were now among their ranks, although, Anzu knew that now an even greater challenge was to come, since her actions could bring repercussions, however, seeing my smile and Miho's smile, caused the pigtailed girl to be more than satisfied with her decision. This was only the beginning of the resurgence of the Ooarai Academy.
"What the fuck does this mean!? We're in the middle of a marathon here!"
"Oops, sorry, did you say something? Sorry, we can't hear you with our party for the first episode, bitch."
"What did you call me, you fucking midget!?"
"Du hast mich verstanden, Gothic-Schlampe."
"Don't talk to me in another language! Fuck, where's Benja!?"
"Benja!"
The door to the studio was kicked open by Eva and everyone saw that there was no one in the office
"Where the fuck did he go!?" Lizzie shouted angrily seeing the empty room.
In a beautiful cafe in France, Marie, Ruka, Rena and I were having a nice time together drinking coffee and eating cake.
"So, dear. Do you enjoy your cake?" Marie asked with a smile making me nod.
"Yes, thank you very much, girls, you were right. I really needed this." I said with a calm smile looking at the three girls.
"Anytime, honey. We could do this more often." Ruka said with a smile but was then reprimanded with a punch from Rena.
"Benja already has a lot of work to do too, idiot." The black-haired girl said before screaming when the blonde girl pulled her hair.
"Don't tell me what to do, stupid bitch, even our little bun of happiness needs a moment of fun, not just work!" The two girls glared at each other angrily, about to start a more physical fight.
"Ruka, Rena please don't fight. Although I don't deny that doing this is fun, I love the idea of doing this more often, but please don't fight." I said with a nervous smile. The two girls looked at me and then returned to their places with a gentle smile, as if nothing had happened.
"Yes honey." The two girls said at the same time. Marie laughed at this before looking at her phone.
"It's Leina, she says she wants to record her chapter as soon as possible." The blonde girl said calmly, but that of course angered the other girls.
"Honey, why do you have to please that shitty little princess?" Ruka asked seriously looking at me.
"Yes, you should have chosen only us." Rena said with the same seriousness making me laugh shyly.
"Well, Leina as well as Twilight and Charlie were very patient with me, so I should at least publish the opening chapter before continuing with the main marathon." I said looking at the two girls with some nervousness.
"Then let's make the most of this day." Marie said looking at the two girls who looked at each other.
"I'll drive!" Ruka shouted before running off with some keys, followed by Rena.
"It's not fair, you were the one who drove here!" Marie and I laughed at this scene with a smile.
"I'm still surprised that they allow a military tank to circulate on the streets of Paris," I said with a nervous smile as I watched the Panzer approach us.
"Anything is possible for us, Mon mignon petit cupcake." I blushed hard at that nickname before standing up with Marie.
"Come on, honey, before Rena and Ruka fight again. I want to enjoy this day before you go back to work." The girl said with a smile as the two of us climbed into the Panzer.
"Where are we going, Marie?" asked the blonde girl behind the wheel.
"To freedom!" Marie shouted with a smile, making the two girls laugh.
"Vive la France!."
These were the shouts of Ruka and Rena before they started the tank, ready to continue with the date we had planned. Marie noticed my i-phone ringing in her pocket and she discreetly turned it off with a smile as the Panzer advanced through the streets of Paris.
