A/N: So, I know I had written somewhat of a sequel to Lacrymosa but that was mainly just about Kenny and Jennifer. The Full Gear PPV gave me the perfect idea for a brand new sequel of Lacrymosa. This will be another Omega/Jennifer/Moxley triangle. I have some more ideas left for them. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy this.

Face claim for Jennifer Best: Caity Lotz

CLARITY
Chapter 1: The Space Between

Alex Abrantes is standing with one half of the AEW tag team champions, Kenny Omega, and Jennifer Best for the All Out Red Carpet. While Kenny is dressed in his usual street clothes attire consisting of a t-shirt, gym shorts, and sneakers - Jennifer is dolled up for the red carpet. She's wearing a floral print mesh long sleeve shirt with a black lacy bra underneath, black leather skirt, and sequined ballet flats. Her blonde hair was curled, her eye makeup was done with brown eyeshadow and winged eyeliner, and her lips were stained with red matte lipstick.

"I'm here with one half on the AEW tag team champions, Kenny Omega, and the lovely Jennifer Best," Alex announced. Alex noticed that Hangman Adam Page, who was Kenny's tag team partner, was nowhere to be found. "It's just you and Jennifer. No Hangman," Alex added.

Kenny merely nodded and shrugged his shoulders.

"You have perhaps one of the most difficult challenges in FTR," Alex continued."What are your thoughts on this big match?"

"It's been difficult since day one. People look at us as two singles wrestlers. No one expected us to win tag team gold; no one expected us to get this far. We have defeated every single tag team in this company and now we have FTR, two cockroaches that came out of nowhere to establish their dominance. People have said that they are the greatest tag team on Planet Earth. I want them to prove it, so I am willing, ready, and able to show them that yes, Kenny Omega, the guy that you thought was just a singles wrestler and Hangman Adam Page, the guy who thought was a second string Elite member, are a pretty good darn tag team. We're actually the best."

"What is your current relationship with Hangman Adam Page? There has obviously been a lot going on recently between you two."

Kenny laughed humorlessly. "Relationship? What does that have to do with anything?" He looked at Jennifer and she merely shrugged her shoulders. "Relationship or not… friendship or not… whether we go home and have a slice of pizza and four liters of chocolate milk together; it doesn't matter. What matters is that we have one enormous roadblock until we have proven to ourselves beyond a shadow of a doubt that we're the greatest tag team in this company. We've beaten the Young Bucks…."

"...What an emotional rollercoaster that was," Jennifer interrupted.

"...We've beaten the Nightmare Family," Kenny continued. "We've beaten the Lucha Brothers. There is no one left was FTR. Regardless if Hangman is my friend or brother: what matters is that he has my back, what matters it that we're on the same page when it comes to our double team offense, what happens is that when push comes to shove we can beat those two guys standing across the ring from us and raise our hands in victory." He lifted his tag team title in the air. "And you want to ask about the relationship with Hangman Adam Page? I never left with this tag team belt the other night - why am I holding it right now? Clearly everything is water under the bridge. Everything is completely fine. We're gonna be just fine tonight."

Luckily Jennifer was standing behind Kenny, so he couldn't see the uncertainty she was expressing with her body language.

"Best of luck to you Kenny, I look forward to seeing another five star match." After Alex made that statement, Kenny looked at Jennifer and rolled his eyes. "See you guys."

Kenny and Jennifer left the parking lot which is where they were being interviewed and headed inside the Daly's place. Kenny stood in front of Jennifer. "I've got a lot of stuff to do before the show starts. I'll see you later - okay?"

"Okay." The Cleaner kissed Jennifer on the cheek before he walked down the hallway, leaving Jennifer alone. She sighed and walked down the hallway to see what EVP duties she could do.

Jennifer changed into her outfit that she was wearing onscreen. She was wearing a black leather brami, royal blue high waisted pants that were split open at the ankles, and royal blue and black Nike high tops. Her hair and makeup got touched up.

She was now heading back towards the production area. Matt and Nick's match against Jurassic Express was coming up soon. Their match had the potential to steal the show.

When she got there, she saw Matt and Nick warming up. "Hey guys." She stood by the stairwell that led to the tunnel.

"Hey," Nick replied. "Nice kicks."

"Yeah, those are some sweet shoes," Matt agreed. "They match your outfit perfectly."

"Thanks," Jennifer smiled. "So, are you guys ready for your match?"

"Absolutely," Nick answered.

"We're always ready to tear the house down," Matt added.

"I know."

"So, we talked with Kenny earlier and we were going to grab food once the show was over. Where would you want to go?"

Jennifer furrowed her eyebrows. "I had no idea that we were doing anything after the show."

Matt had a look of disbelief on his face. "He hasn't talked to you about it?"

"Nope." Jennifer shook her head. "I haven't seen him or heard from him since the pre-show."

"You're kidding?" Nick shared the same look of disbelief as his older brother.

Jennifer raised her hands. "He's super busy. All his time is on the AEW video games. It's a project he has a hand in and he's super dedicated to it."

"He stopped by our locker room earlier to talk to us."

"Did he?" Jennifer frowned.

"Yeah." Nick nodded. He could see how hurt she was. "Sorry, Jen."

"No worries. Let's go." She followed Nick and Matt up the stairs and through the tunnel as The Young Bucks' entrance music blared. Justin Roberts announced them and the trio did their usual entrance shebang.

Kenny and Jennifer were alone in the production area for the time being. He was overseeing the Hikaru Shida versus Thunder matchup. She was there directing the cameramen, lighting crew, and the soundboard.

Shida and Rosa made their entrances and the matchup between the two women was officially underway.

Kenny took off his headseat and placed it around his neck, so Jennifer did the same thing. Maybe she could actually talk to him now.

"Apparently we're going out to eat with Nick and Matt after the show?"

"Yeah." Kenny looked confused. "How'd you know that?"

"Nick and Matt mentioned it to me since you didn't have the time to."

"I'm sorry. I've been busy."

"But, you weren't busy whenever you went to talk to Nick and Matt."

"I hadn't seen them all day, Jen. I wanted to stop by and say hello. I wasn't even in their dressing room but for a minute."

"I'm sorry if I'm overreacting," Jennifer sighed. "I just feel like you don't want to be around me that much."

"Why in the world would you think that?"

"I barely see you. We don't spend the night at each other's houses anymore because of the covid. When I arrive at the arena, I don't ever see much of you because you're ready to take on your EVP duties and then you're ready to see Aubrey so y'all can discuss AEW video game business."

Kenny took a moment to think about what Jennifer just told him. He shook his head in disappointment. She was right. Things were going great for them before covid-19. They would swap out between Jacksonville and Las Vegas each weekend. They would stay at each other's house for a weekend and then Monday and Tuesday were their days to get everything together for the upcoming episode of Dynamite. There was also the time that they filmed in Georgia for three days to have several weeks worth of AEW Dynamite and Dark content and they stayed in the same trailer, but they didn't really get to spend much quality time together. He couldn't think of the last time it was just the two of them hanging out.

"You're right. I'm sorry."

"You know I support you and everything you do, but I would like to have an opportunity for you to grace me with your presence."

Kenny nodded. "Sure thing."

"I know I'm being selfish - it's just that I miss you."

"You're not being selfish," The Cleaner assured. "You've been super supportive of everything I've done this year and I really appreciate it."

Jennifer smiled in response.

"Why don't you stay at my house tonight and tomorrow?"

"I would love that!" Jennifer beamed.

FTR had just pinned Hangman Adam Page to become the new AEW World tag team champions. Kenny came into the ring and looked down at his fallen partner. A huge wave of disappointment washed over The Best Bout Machine.

Hangman reached for his tag team partner, but Kenny scooted back and let Hangman fall back down. Jennifer was on the outside looking on with sadness. Kenny looked like he had some not so good plans for Adam, but Jennifer got inside the ring and placed her hands on his chest.

A frustrated Kenny Omega motioned for Jennifer to follow him and they walked through the tunnel backstage. Kenny was mumbling absentmindedly to Jennifer about what transpired until he saw Matt and Nick.

"Come on." Kenny motioned for his Elite members to follow him. He started rambling about how he was done. Matt tried talking some sense into Kenny, but he wasn't having it.

Once Kenny got to the SUV that brought him to the arena, he motioned for Matt, Nick, and Jennifer to get in with him. "Come on, let's go." Matt, Nick, and Jennifer all looked torn about what they should do.

When the three of them didn't get inside the vehicle with Kenny, he shut the door and the driver of his vehicle took off out of the parking lot.

The Young Bucks and Jennifer put their hands on their hips and shook their heads. Matt and Nick each put an arm around Jennifer and escorted her back inside the Daly's place.

Jennifer exited the dressing room changed into a tan adidas short sleeve shirt, ripped skinny blue jeans, and white adidas with brown stripes, she was ready to leave the arena. She was catching a ride with Kenny, Nick, and Matt.

She heard her phone ding so she retrieved the phone from her back pocket and saw it was a text message from Kenny.

Hey, we're all in the parking lot.

Okay. Be there shortly.

She was too busy replying that she didn't watch where she was walking until she literally bumped into an all too familiar male figure. "Jon, I am so sorry."

"No worries."

"So, congratulations on retaining the championship. You and MJF put on one hell of a match."

Jon nodded. "Thanks."

"No problem," Jennifer replied with a smile. "So, do you have any exciting plans since you retained your title?"

"The wife rented us an Air BnB or whatever the hell it's called and we're gonna celebrate my victory."

Jennifer felt her stomach drop. "Right. Of course." Since Jon's wife was no longer employed at the moment, she had more time to accompany Jon on the road.

"I talked with Tony and Cody and they're on board with having her backstage at some shows." Jon knew that his wife and the woman standing before him weren't exactly the best of friends. "Are you going to be okay with that? I'll make sure that she steers clear of you."

All Jennifer could do was nod. "I'll have to be okay with it. It wouldn't be professional of me to deny one of the wrestlers having their significant other backstage because of personal feelings."

"That's one thing I've always liked about you: your professionalism."

Jennifer blushed. "Good to know."

"Anyways, I should probably head out. My wife is patiently waiting for me. I'll see you later." Jon gave Jennifer a small smile before scooting past her.

Jennifer let out a huge breath. Ever since covid-19 hit, Jon and Jennifer were two of few AEW talent who attended every possible taping they could. Jon was out on quarantine two months ago since his wife had gotten diagnosed with covid-19. But, during that time Jon and Jennifer interacted more often and it was safe to say that they were friends, but not best friends by any means necessary.

Jennifer towed her luggage behind her and headed out to the parking lot to meet up with Kenny, Matt, and Nick. When she got to the car, Kenny put her stuff in the trunk of the vehicle and she sat with him in the very backseat.

"We're eating at Applebee's since they're open until 1am," Kenny informed Jennifer. "Are you okay with that?"

"Yeah, that sounds great."

"And then whenever we get done there, we're going back to my house and we're going to have a good time," Kenny added. "How does that sound?"

Jennifer's cheeks burned. "That sounds good to me."
