The sound of shuffaling cards, and the smell of red wine danced throughout the room. It was a small gathering, of those considered to be pro-duelists, and at one particular table two brothers sat. The younger brother adjusted his spectacles, and looked up at his older brother, and noted that his brother's stone cold persona seemed slightly less than usual.

Looking down at the half empty class of wine, Zane felt a swirl of a memory, something, or rather someone who was also asscociated with the colour red. Although it had been three years, he had found that he still could not recall the face of histag-partner. It was as if his partner had never existed in this world at all. Yet, he knew in his very soul that they had. He took a deep breath, forcing the memory aside.

The silence between the two brothers continued, until the younger of the two couldn't take it anymore."Zane why areange this meeting of you're not going to talk about what is bothering you?' He said

Finally breaking the silence, Zane shifted his gaze sligtly towards the card he held."Heh, tell me Syrus, do you remember encountering a duelist at the academy with this card?" He asked, as he carefully slid the card over to Syrus.."

Syrus carefully lifted the card, and examined it. He saw that it had a black border and background, with only the word 'cyber' in the top left corner,"I'm Afraid not, Brother.." he said, as he carefully slid the card back to Zane.

Zane let out a small sigh, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the table. He remembered someone's soft hand placing the card in his palm, and then that someone walking away. "Heh, that is the typical response, and no matter who I ask..I havn't gotten any further clues.."he said with a drawl of annoyance. But he couldn't shake the memory of that mysterious encounter, the sense that he was missing something crucial.

Syrus adjusted his spectacles, and looked slightly upwards in contemplation. Maybe if his brotherwent back to Duel Academy, and looked around it would trigger his memory? "What about visiting Duel Academy to jog your memory, brother?"he asked.

"Syrus, I spent an entire week there last summer..looking for awnsers-and nothing."he stated, as he pressed his fingers against the table as he stood up to view the gathering crowd in the corner. He saw a few rookie's engrossed in conversation with a duelist cloaked in black.

"Woah I thought only the Kaiser used Cyber Dragons! Where did you get cards like his!"

"I can't awnser that.."

"Aww, why not?"

Syrus swallowed hard, as he heard the words 'Cyber Dragons' and the sound of his brother's boots hitting the floor. This was not going to end well!

"The Cyber Legacy is my birthright,so.. I would like to know..where you aqquired those copies.."

The duelist imidiattly stood up, and before she could shuffle through the crowd any further, she felt the hood of her cloak pulled back. Before she could even think of an escape plan, her path was blocked by the Kaiser himself. The long black trenchcoat, with an off white trim, accentuated the tall man's features. It really had been a long time, so much so, that her data on the duelist had faded. She looked upwards and met his gaze."That, is classified information.."

" Heh, I suppose your name is 'classified' too?" Zane smirked, his eyes narrowing as he held her gaze. Whoever this mysterious Duelist was, he wasn't going to simply let her walk away, without giving him an awnser! "

"Names mean little for those of us with a twisted existence," she replied coolly, before she side-stepped to the right, and walked straight past Zane.

Zane spun around to reach out and grab her shoulder, but in an instant the duelist was gone, "How is that possible?', he said, his voice mildly shaking with shock.

The crowd of duelists, suddenly began talking like a gaggle of geese. All of them seemingly not surprised at all, but rather there eyes were filled with excitement.

"Wow, that is so cool! I can't believe the Vagabond actually appeared!"

"I can't belive it! This must mean it's almost ready!'

Syrus grabbed his brother's shoulder. It seemed, that his brother had not heard about Kaiba Corp's new project. "Brother, snap out of it. She was just a test-duelist for Kaiba Corp's new project." He stated

"I thought that was just a rumour.."

'It's more than a rumour, Bro. It was officially three days ago"

"Heh, what is it called?"

"Duel Links.."
