A crazy day!

Fran and Maxwell are still sitting on the bench, kissing repeatedly and holding each other tightly. Maxwell strokes Fran's face.

"I'm so glad that stupid story is in the open now. I just hope you didn't worry too much about it."

Fran tries to put on her biggest smile. She doesn't want to show Maxwell how miserable she had been because of this picture. Now, looking back, she feels pretty stupid about herself. She should have just trusted Maxwell and her own instincts. She laughs out loud.

"You don't seriously think I allow myself to be intimidated by such a conceited, boring chick. Not in this life, especially now that I know how everything happened. And I know only too well what mothers can be like when they are convinced that they know what is best for you."

Fran pulls herself together and tells Maxwell the story about Aaron. At first Maxwell remains very calm. But his expression darkens when Fran describes what happened during the car ride. He clenches his fist.

"I hope that creep at least understood that he has no chance with you. He shouldn't dare try something again."

Fran grins mischievously.

"Believe me, he clearly got the message."

"And if he does show up here in London, he will get to know me. I won't let anyone take you away from me. I hope he isn't bigger and stronger than me, is he?"

Maxwell asks with a little hesitation. Fran chuckles.

"What's the point of your question? Are you saying you wouldn't fight every man who makes a pass at me? For example, what would you do if King Kong would come along right now and just carry me away? Would you just let that happen?"

Maxwell realizes Fran only wants to tease him and counters quickly.

"Well, in that case, I wouldn't worry at all. As far as I know, apes have a very sensitive hearing. All you have to do is scream loudly and he'll bring you back immediately."

Fran pouts and pokes him in the ribs.

"You are so mean!"

But Maxwell laughs and hugs her even tighter. He gives her a kiss that makes her knees go weak.

"I love you too, Francine!"

Then he gets up and pulls her with him. They continue their stroll through the park in a good mood. Since Fran barely ate a bite at breakfast and everything is now back to normal between her and Maxwell, she starts to get very hungry. Finally, she can no longer hide the growling of her stomach. Maxwell bursts into laughter again.

"That's my girl like I know you."

So they stop at the next food stall and Maxwell buys Fran everything her heart desires. With new energy they continue their walk.

Little later, Fran spots a group of musicians and runs to them excitedly. In a close embrace Maxwell and Fran listen to them for a while. But eventually Fran can no longer keep her feet still. Wildly, she starts dancing to the music and pulls Maxwell to join her.

At first Maxwell reacts hesitantly, he feels a little bit embarrassed by the situation and notices many people are staring at them irritated. But eventually he lets himself be infected by Fran's good mood. And in the end, other passants start dancing as well. The atmosphere gets more and more exuberant. When the musicians finally take a break, Maxwell goes over to them and gives them a generous tip. Then he hugs Fran, shaking his head in amusement.

"You really are a crazy bird. I could never experience something like that with any other girl. I would love to hang out with you all day."

Fran laughs at him, but then she gets a strange feeling. She peeks at her watch. When she sees what time it is, she panics.

"Oh my God, I didn't even notice how fast time passed."

She stares at Maxwell in horror, her eyes wide open. He asks her, confused, what's wrong.

"I solemnly promised Susan that I would pick her up from kindergarten on time. How am I supposed to make it now?"

Maxwell takes her soothingly in his arms.

"That's no problem, Francine. Of course I'll drive you."

"But to get to your car we'd have to walk all the way back through the park. We'll never make it in time."

Maxwell realizes that Fran is right on this point.

"Well then come on..." He pulls her along. "...Then we'll have to try to find a cab."

The two leave the park and run towards the street. They rush to the nearest taxi stand. But when they finally reach it, the only cab that was there is just driving away. Fran calls and waves after him, but it is useless. Fran is now really close to despair and can hardly hold back her tears.

"So what are we going to do now? The only option is for me to take the bus. And then I will never make it on time."

She looks around frantically, in the vague hope of finding a way to save herself and get to kindergarten as fast as possible. And finally she has an idea. Without any warning, she suddenly runs off and hurries across the street. Maxwell stumbles after her and wonders what Fran is up to now. On the other side of the street stands one of the usual tourist carriage rides. The coachman is standing next to his horse and is obviously taking a break.

Fran hurries over to him and uses all her charm to persuade him to take her to kindergarten in his carriage. The driver initially thinks she is joking and taps his forehead. But Fran is not defeated so easily. She continues to talk to the coachman and says that it can hardly be in his interest to be responsible if the heart of a little girl gets broken. The coachman finally agrees after Maxwell takes out some cash and offers him a generous reward.

So it happens that a short time later, Fran and Maxwell are sitting together in the carriage, hurrying towards the kindergarten. Fran urgently asked the man to drive as fast as he could. The coachman sits on his box and leads his horse through the traffic. He is still wondering how he got into this mess. Maxwell seems to be asking himself the same question. He pulls Fran in his arms.

"You really are the most impossible person I know. I bet there is no other au pair in the whole wide world who would practically hijack a carriage ride just to pick up her girl on time."

Fran, on the other hand, begins to relax with every mile they get closer to their destination. She realizes that they could really make it, if god isn't against them. And indeed, they reach their goal just in time. Fran jumps out with great relief and Maxwell follows her.

The man waves to them once more, shaking his head, and then turns around. Fran says goodbye to Maxwell with a heartwarming kiss. The two agree to meet that night as usual, on the porch of the Kent mansion. Then Fran rushes into the building and just as she arrives in the hallway, doors are open everywhere and soon a cheerful Susan jumps happily into her arms.
