Dr. Isaac Clark invited us to his home in Castro Valley on the east side of the Bay for a Labor Day barbecue. Dr. Vladimir Jariabek and Colonel Angus Rickman also attended.

We had tri-tip and hot dogs and hamburgers and roasted corn on the cob, with soda and beer to wash it down.

Dr. Clark, mentioned that his daughter Catherine was just starting her freshman year at CalTech in Pasadena.

"She is growing up," he said.

There was more discussion of work of course, including sending explorers to other parts of other Earths, as well as working on plans to set up permanent off-world outposts.

A pleasant day, though of course I knew I had to prepare for tomorrow's classes.
