Fifth Incident - Reimu and Marisa in Wonderland

Prologue

Marisa was flying around on her broom and performing tricks when a dark pink cloud with pink spikes flew past her. Looking at the strange cloud, she realized that it was a magical construct. Then she looked up and noticed that the sky was crowded with these clouds of various colors that were beginning to rain strange things like hot chocolate and whipped cream then strike random places with bolts of lightning!

"What the-?!"

Other strange things started happening on the ground: The animals started to transform into strange things, roads were moving by themselves and vanishing when someone walked on them, patches of grass were turning into soap or growing out of random places, and most disturbingly of all, thick, thorny dark pink and purple vines that look like wickedly sharp claws were tearing up everything, wrapping people up and making them fall asleep. And all the while, the miasma of Makai was gradually filling the air. Frightened and believing another Incident is about to occur, she went to find Reimu.

At the Hakurei shrine, Marisa finds Reimu fending off vines that are trying to grab her and clouds that were trying to shock her. Using a particularly powerful spell, Marisa clears it all away, much to Reimu's relief.

"Reimu… What is going on?" Marisa asked upon landing at the shrine.

Reimu gave an annoyed huff, "I wish I knew, Marisa! It feels like Gensokyo is-is merging with another world!"

Marisa tilted her head, "Another world? Which one, ze?"

"It feels like Makai, somehow!" Reimu pointed out, "Whoever is responsible must be from there!"

"Makai, huh… That's a dangerous place, ze! And not everyone can get there. If only we knew someone from there… Wait! We do!" Marisa snapped her fingers.

Reimu's face lit up. "You're right, Marisa! Alice Margatroid claims to be from there originally. I don't know if she was telling the truth, but I don't see why she'd lie. Let's head there right now."

Suddenly, a living stuffed animal that looked like a little rabbit girl ran past them in a big hurry. She wore a light brown petticoat-sweater combo with pink sleeves and sides with four yellow buttons lined with cream fur that exposed the upper half of her arms, chest, shoulders and back. She wore a pair of dark brown puffy shorts with a frilly light brown skirt which, due to its miniscule length, resembled a very large belt. She wore very dark brown, almost black pantyhose under these shorts that were torn with carrot-shaped holes in several places.

She wore hot pink gloves with orange and green carrots sewn on the back and hot pink and brown combat boots with large orange and green carrots stuck to the front of each boot. Her neck-length cream-colored hair was short, fluffy, and bouncy with a large butterfly-shaped cowlick that framed her light pink eyes. Her rabbit ears were very long, going down to just below her kneecaps and both were ringed with fluffy pink fur. She also had a pair of buck teeth that constantly protruded from her upper lip. She stopped, looked at her pocket watch, and her eyes widen in horror.

"Oh, my ears and fur! I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!" the bunny girl called out as she looked at the mages, "Sorry girls I'd love to say hello and goodbye, but I'm very, very late! Hopefully it's not too late, or my head's going to be stuck under my tail…"

She then grumbled to herself, "AGAIN! Oooh! Alice Margatroid, I swear, if you're not where you're supposed to be, you're in for the beating of a lifetime! I don't care WHAT Hearts will do to me, it'll be worth it! Oh, oh, I'm late! So very, very late!"

Reimu was confused. "…Who was that? I've never seen her around here before."

"I dunno, but if she wants Alice that badly, it must be important, ze! We better go after her, we need Alice to help us get to Makai and stop this madness!"

And with that, Reimu and Marisa chase after her, the rabbit shouting "I'm late!" the entire time. They make a beeline straight for Alice's house in the Forest of Magic.
