Excited Dog's First Tournament in Centuries!

"Ugh, wait… are you being real with us, Senku?" Inuyasha asked in shock after he and the others are the big main scientist of the Kingdom of Science just told them.

"We all agreed that Inuyasha is entering the Grand Bout, but this is unexpected." Kagome said exclaiming.

"You're gonna participate in the Grand Bout too?" Kohaku asked.

"And I was the one who signed him up for the big battle!" Ginro revealed with a stupid sly grin expression on his face.

"You did what?" Inuyasha asked with a confused blank expression.

"Yep! Senku is over 14 and unmarried, isn't he?" Ginro danced a little creepy causing Kagome, Kohaku, and Suika to step away from the guy.

"That's right. Plus, there's no rule that says you have to be a villager to participate." Senku smiled a little evilly, then he and Ginro chuckle together as they hold hands of their weirdly unnatural friendship.

"This is kinda weird. Since when have Senku and Ginro been so close?" Suika asked.

"Well, they're birds of the same devious feather." Kohaku pointed out the one thing those two have in common, and it's kinda scary when one thinks about it too much.

"But Senku, you're no fighter! You're the brain of the Kingdom of Science, why would you want to go through the trouble of being in this fight?" Kagome asked worry for her brainiac friend.

"I don't plan on winning the thing. My main goal is just to tire out our opponents." Senku revealed the true purpose of entering the Grand Bout.

"And not only that, if we happen to go up against each other…" Ginro explained the little detail of how their match would play out.

(Scenery if Senku vs Ginro)

Ginro would "run" up to Senku and "hit" him with his safety spear.

"Oh no, you sure got me good!" Senku acted hurt while having the face of someone who is faking the whole thing just to mess with others.

(Reality)

"We move up without breakin' a sweat! So, the more contestants on our side, the better! You see?" Ginro proclaimed with his tongue sticking out like a snake.

"You're really gonna rig the Grand Bout? How dishonorable. Even for you." Kinro felt like he had just discovered a new low level of his brother just when he thought he knew everything with Ginro being sneaky and a lazy ass.

"Either way, although the goal is worthy, rules are the rules. I won't throw my match. I'll still fight fairly and with honor." Kinro refused to change his way of combat.

"Yeah! Course you will!" Senku and Ginro said together at Kinro much to his shock.

"Everybody knows that you and Inuyasha have the best chance at beating Magma in a one-on-one fight. So, we're gonna need you two to save your energy and make it to the top!" Senku explained.

"Exactly! Nobody's asking you to cheat, Kinro. Once you hit us, we're just gonna cry out "mercy" and the match will be over. No problem there, right?" Ginro added.

"Actually, there is a problem with your plan. A very big problem." Kagome pulled the two "snakes" away from Kinro.

"What are you talking about?" Ginro asked.

"One word: Inuyasha." Kagome pointed her thumb at Inuyasha.

"Huh, Inuyasha? Why would Inuyasha be a problem to our plan?" Ginro asked in confusion but suddenly freaked out a little bit when he heard Inuyasha chuckling.

Inuyasha smirks widely showing his two sharp canine teeth and threw one arm at one section of the wall that got completely destroyed in one hit, the entire section crumbled into small pieces making Senku and Ginro start sweating in fear.

"One thing you should know about Inuyasha is that he rarely holds back his strength, as in never, when it comes to fighting whether on the streets or in a tournament or in the middle of a forest, and he doesn't even care about stupid plans like rigging matches because he'll just fight until the ones he's fighting are down for the count." Kagome explained.

"In other words, you two would probably be out before you could even forfeit your matches with him." Kagome winked with a slightly evil chuckle.

Senku and Ginro look at each other for a second then back at Inuyasha who is still smirking and probably seeing things because they could've sworn that they're seeing a dark red aura in the shape of a dangerous dog surrounding Inuyasha glaring at the two.

"You boys better be really sure that you're ready because I had a talk with Chrome about him not participating in the Grand Bout, he's probably help heal your coma bodies when I'm done with ya." Inuyasha chuckled as he walks away.

"(I think we're screwed…)" Senku thought gulped.

"(PLEASE, don't let me fight him first?!)" Ginro thought prayed to the Heavens to not let him fight Inuyasha at all in the Grand Bout.

"Hey, Kagome." Kohaku walked up to her.

"Were you saying that because you didn't like how Senku and Ginro were talking about cheating just for us to win?" Kohaku asked curiously.

"Something like that. I can tell that you'd be okay with it because you would be willing to go through any length if it means saving your sister from death." Kagome answered with knowing how Kohaku feels for Ruri.

"But that was honestly a warning because Inuyasha really doesn't hold back in a fight." Kagome mentioned.

"I see, then we should make sure those two have a good funeral." Kohaku joked and they laugh a little together.

Kinro heard their conversation, including the part where Kagome figured out Kohaku would do anything to help save Ruri's life which is something that reminds him of what Kohaku said about saving her and all.

"Hey, Sango!" Kagome ran up to Sango who is doing some stretches with her arms and legs.

"What's up, Kagome?" Sango asked.

"It's about that "Thing" I asked you to make. Is it ready yet?" Kagome asked.

"Oh yes, that thing. You'll be happy to know that I've just finished it this morning and waiting on you." Sango nodded with a smile.

"Great! Inuyasha is going to love it!" Kagome squealed joyfully.

"I hope so, because he owes me a wall that I had to help make that lab." Sango said.

(The Next Day)

Inuyasha is waking up from his sleep knowing the big day of Grand Bout is today and he can't wait to see if there are any strong fighters that could give him a challenge.

"Man, it's been a long time since I've gotten into any fight that doesn't get involve thugs and idiots." Inyasha rolled his shoulders.

"I bet you would look great in something else that that black clothing." Kagome said.

"Blame Tsukasa. He was the one who gave me this cloth since it was the only type of clothing he has at his empire." Inuyasha mentioned.

"Then how about something a little more red?" Kagome asked.

Inuyasha was a little confused about what she meant by that and turns around to see her, and holding something red in her hands and appears to be his size.

"Kagome. What is that?" Inuyasha asked.

"A present from your thoughtful girlfriend. I asked Sango to make this for you with the idea of dying the color into red, I also asked Senku how to do that in the Stone age." Kagome answered honestly.

"I figured you would want to go back to your own red style, and I've come to grant you that wish." Kagome said.

"Kagome, this is amazing! It looks so badass!" Inuyasha smiled.

"Yep, now hurry and put it on! Senku is just left for the village." Kagome pushed the robe onto him.

"Oh yeah, everyone is going to love this!" Inuyasha smirked.

(With Senku)

The drumming sound of the Grand Bout plays as Senku makes his way to the bridge almost like it's a sign that is welcoming him.

"Hey, Senku!" Inuyasha called out as he runs with Kagome on his back.

"I was wondering what took you so long." Senku looked back, seeing the new outfit Inuyasha is wearing.

"Whoa, a red robe. Now I can see why Kagome was asking me about making a red dyed color soap for clothes two days ago." Senku was impressed with the new wear on Inuyasha.

"Yeah, isn't it awesome! And look, Kagome even got me this bead necklace with little fangs." Inuyasha pointed at his necklace.

"Just a little something I made myself. I'm not really a master of crafting, but I do a little bit from time to time." Kagome explained.

"So, are you ready to enter the village for the first time?" Inuyasha asked Senku.

"I was going to ask you two the same thing." Senku said.

"Come on, don't want to keep the people waiting." Senku looked at the village.

The three young people from the old modern era started walking together on the bridge all the way to the other side where the Kohaku and friends are waiting for them along with the entire village watching the outsiders they heard about coming.

Kinro and Ginro uncrossed their spears to finally allow Senku to enter since he first came here, but now there are two more entering the village as well.

"Ha. It's been close to half a year since Senku arrived. Now finally, with Inuyasha and Kagome…" Kohaku felt excited to have them in the village.

The moment that happened, Senku finally steps into the village that has been avoiding him for so long, but now he is allowed to be inside because of the Grand Bout and now he'll be able to see the village with his own eyes up close.

"This is the first time I've set foot in the village. Well, I'm here." Senku said.

"I hope they don't think we're troublemakers or anything." Kagome was worried on what the villagers would think of them.

"Like it matters what they think of us, they'll soon see the kind of people we are." Inuyasha smirked.

Somehow, what he said just now is making Kagome feel a lot better as the people of this village will soon learn about the power of their bond and science.

They met up with their village friends and walk together to the area where the Grand Bout as Kokuyo is seeing this.

"I take it those two are the outsiders? The ones foolish enough to enter the Grand Bout?" Kokuyo asked Jasper.

"Yes. The boy with the white hair boy is named Inuyasha and the other is named Senku." Jasper revealed their names.

"(Senku?)" Ruri thought gasped upon hearing that one name from Jasper's mouth.

"It's what? Hold on. Did I hear correctly that this man's name is Senku?" Ruri asked, wanting to be sure that she didn't hear something else.

"It is. I assume you haven't met him before. Have you?" Kokuyo asked, seeing how Ruri's reaction upon hearing that name.

"No, sir. Of course I've never met him. How could I have." Ruri stood up from her seat and walked outside, looking down at the people until she spotted one young man, she believed to be Senku.

"But yet… I do know him. This Senku… Could he be the one?" Ruri asked, then walk down the steps.

"Wait, Ruri." Kokuyo tried to tell her that she shouldn't be up so suddenly, not with her condition, but Ruri ignores him.

"I've known him for years, possibly even from long, long ago in the past. I've heard that name all my life." Ruri said, now standing on even ground with Senku.

"Hey, I think that is Ruri." Inuyasha looked at the girl that came down from that hut, seeing the resemblance between her and Kohaku. She even smells similar to Kohaku too.

"Your name is Senku, is it not?" Ruri asked.

"And you're the village priestess, Ruri. So nice to finally meet you in person." Senku chuckled.

"You must really want to know something if you've come down despite being sick." Inuyasha said.

"Indeed. I have a very important question to ask you." Ruri said, looking directly at Senku.

"Tell me, please. Senku, what is your surname?" Ruri asked the question to make sure this is the Senku she heard about so much.

This shocks both Senku and Inuyasha that a village priestess would even ask about something that shouldn't even more in this age like a surname.

"Say what?" Ganen was confused.

"Surname?" Shovel was puzzled, having no idea what that is.

"I mean, your family name. The one that's passed—" But Ruri was cut off when Inuyasha is suddenly in front of her.

"(There's no tradition of having surnames in this village, so how does she know about them?)" Senku thought wondered.

"Sorry, but you should head back to that hut now. I can tell how sick you are with my nose, and that you're about to collapse." Inuyasha said.

"Wait, I have to know… If he's Ishi…" But just as Inuyasha predicted, Ruri fell collapse from her illness and coughing hard.

"Ruri!" Kokuyo gasped as he, Jasper, and Turquoise ran up to check on her.

Senku gasp on hearing that Ruri was about to see his former family name and wanted to ask her himself, but Turquoise stops him.

"Stop there! Stay away from the priestess, outsider!" Turquoise said.

"Don't make her walk! Carry her back immediately!" Kokuyo ordered.

Turquoise and Jasper got a stretcher to carry her back into the hut as quickly as possible.

"Are you all right?" Turquoise asked Ruri.

"I am." Ruri said.

"She looks even worse than how you guys said about her condition." Kagome felt worried for the girl, hoping that they'll be able to get the medicine to her on time.

"But it is crazy to hear that she somehow knew about family names. Could have been in that hundred tale thing you mentioned before?" Inuyasha asked Sango.

"I don't know exactly all of them, that is something you will have to ask Ruri herself." Sango said.

"I have about ten billion questions for her as well. I think she and I should have a nice, long chat after this Grand Bout business is over." Senku started to become curious about Ruri.

Then they heard laughter nearby and look over to see one man actually smiling at Ruri in her worse.

"That's him, right? He's Magma?" Inuyasha asked Kohaku.

"Yep. That's him." Kohaku glared.

"Now we're talkin'. It looks as though I might not have to go through the trouble of killing her. At this rate, she'll probably keel over on our wedding night." Magma smirked as he looks at Kohaku.

Magma is a large, muscular man with slicked-back blond hair that brushes the top of his shoulders, with a single lock falling in front of his face. He has thick, pointed eyebrows that are usually furrowed. His chin is prominent, and he has a strong jawline. His physique is thick and muscled, significantly more than any of the other villagers. He wears a dark blue tunic with short sleeves that displays his voluptuous chest. Underneath, he wears very dark-colored pants that are tied around the ankle. Like most villagers, he lacks accessories, however he has two bracelets made of brown leather thonging on his wrists. He wears the village rope around his waist as a belt.

Kohaku felt angry at how Magma talks about Ruri like that and thinks he could get away with this, but Inuyasha placed a hand on her shoulder with a look say that he's going to take care of him soon.

"You better watch this carefully, Chrome, because that guy is about to become trash for your amusement." Inuyasha said.

"Yeah, I'm counting on you to get a hit on him for me!" Chrome smirked.

Later, the combatants are given straws with each one having a different color that should match with another as that will be decided on who will be fighting whom in the Grand Bout.

"Rig the match! Rig the match! Give us an order that'll let us win!" Ginro cheered.

"You do know I might have to fight you, right?" Inuyasha reminded him, causing Ginro to freeze with fear.

"Doesn't matter, I say to hell with having a fair fight. The Kingdom of Science uses our wits and cunning as weapons. Our strategy is to game the Grand Bout to work in our favor." Senku stated.

"I think you should only use your rig strategy for Kinro in case he has to fight Magma while leaving me and Inuyasha handle things with our own strength." Sango pointed out.

"And if either of us happens to fight Magma first, then we'll take him out early in the Grand Bout and it's smooth sailing from there." Kohaku added.

"That's correct, if one of you guys can take him out early like that then we're good as good." Senku agreed.

"Since they're drawing straws for the order, all we can do is pray for luck. One of our fighters starts off together. Kinro and Magma never go against each other…" Suika started praying in a weird way.

"Is that a prayer or some kinda tongue twister?" Kaseki asked.

"Let just leave her be." Kagome said.

And the moment has come.

"They're drawing up the brackets right now." Kohaku alerted.

One of the villagers, Namari, starts drawing up the bracket to show which pair will be facing each other and finish while Suika keep on praying for Magma to face off one of the stronger fighters and never against Kinro.

"Listen up. As some of you have noticed, we have an odd number of people in this Grand Bout, so we have decided that one of you will be put into one round with two others to make it a three-way fight for only one to move on." Jasper informed.

"(Make sense since there's not a lot of other fighters in the village.)" Sango thought agreed with that.

"Now, the first round of the Grand Bout will be between…" Jasper paused for a few seconds and show the first fighters.

"Kinro and Magma!"

The Kingdom of Science team became completely pale upon seeing the first matchup, the thing they wanted to avoid.

KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!

The Grand Bout has finally begun with the Kingdom of Science team signing up their toughest fighters, and Senku for his own sneaky-smart reason, to hopefully win against Magma, but that there is one problem: Kinro is fighting Magma in the first round.
