The warm glow of the twin suns of Universe 6 shone over the Saiyan base as Cabba, Caulifla, and Kale stood together, listening to Goku's pitch—this time, a literal one.
"Come on, it'll be fun!" Goku grinned, hands on his hips. "Last time was a lil' crazy, sure, but that just makes it more fun, don't ya think?"
Cabba's expression darkened at the memory of Beerus and Champa nearly tearing each other apart on the baseball field. "I don't know, Goku… last time was a disaster. I barely even got to play before Lord Champa started attacking his brother. Are you sure things will be different this time?"
Before Goku could reply, Caulifla smirked and jabbed her thumb into her chest. "Tch, who cares about all that? A game's a game! If the old man wants to invite us, then we're goin'!"
Kale shifted nervously beside her. "B-but, Sis… I don't really know how to play. And… it's Goku." Her cheeks darkened slightly at the mention of the Saiyan warrior she had mixed feelings about—part admiration, part resentment for pushing her limits in their first fight.
Caulifla playfully nudged her. "Then it's about time ya learn, huh?"
Cabba sighed, rubbing his temples. "I guess I don't have a choice then…"
Goku chuckled, then dropped another surprise. "Oh yeah! I invited Hit too!"
The Universe 6 Saiyans blinked in shock. "Wait, what?!" Cabba exclaimed, while Caulifla's eyes widened with excitement.
"Seriously?! That's awesome! I wanna see how the assassin plays a sport!"
Kale simply gulped. "I-I hope he doesn't use Time-Skip to cheat…"
Goku laughed. "Nah, Whis and Vados are umpires again. No cheating allowed!"
The moment they arrived, Cabba was the first to spot Vegeta and ran up with a beaming smile. "Master Vegeta! It's so great to see you again!"
Vegeta groaned, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "I knew it… Kakarot, why did you bring this nuisance back?"
Goku snickered. "Hey, don't be like that, Vegeta! Cabba's a good kid!"
Before Vegeta could fire back, a loud BOOM echoed across the field—Beerus and Champa were already in each other's faces, fangs bared, growling like wild animals.
"You're still sore about losing last time, huh, Champa?" Beerus smirked, crossing his arms.
"Hah! You got lucky!" Champa shot back, jabbing a pudgy finger into his brother's chest. "This time, I'm gonna CRUSH you, Beerus!"
Whis sighed and waved a hand. "Now, now, my Lord, let's not have a repeat of last time."
"Indeed," Vados added with a light giggle. "I wouldn't want to see you embarrass yourself again, Lord Champa."
Champa's face turned red. "Tch! Just start the game already!"
The teams were set.
Team Champa:
Champa (Team Captain) Vegeta Hit Cabba Caulifla Kale Saonel & Pilina (who were dragged into this mess by Caulifla)
Team Beerus:
Beerus (Team Captain) Goku Gohan Goten Kid Trunks Piccolo Android 17 (who was here only because 18 forced him to come) Yamcha (who deeply regretted agreeing to this)
"Alright, the rules are simple," Whis announced, floating above the field. "No energy blasts, no super speed, no Time-Skip, no Hakai, and no breaking the field in any way."
Caulifla groaned. "Ugh, this is gonna be so boring!"
Vados gave a knowing smile. "Oh, I think you'll find it plenty exciting, dear Caulifla."
With that, the game began.
Goku stepped up to the plate, twirling the bat in his hands. Across from him, Vegeta stood on the pitcher's mound, gripping the ball tightly.
"Alright, Kakarot, let's see if you can handle my pitches!"
Goku grinned. "Heh, bring it on, Vegeta!"
Vegeta hurled the ball with all his might. WHOOSH! The ball zipped toward Goku at incredible speed.
CRACK!
Goku made perfect contact, sending the ball rocketing into the sky.
"Whoooa, that's goin' far!" Goten cheered.
"Not if I can help it!" Caulifla shouted, dashing toward the outfield.
Kale followed close behind, eyes locked on the ball. "Sis, I got this!"
With a sudden burst of speed, Kale leapt high into the air and CAUGHT the ball with one hand, landing with a soft thud.
"OUT!" Vados declared.
"Nice catch, Kale!" Caulifla grinned, patting her on the back.
Kale blushed slightly but smiled. "T-thanks!"
Goku scratched his head. "Aw man, she got me!"
Vegeta smirked. "Hmph. One down, two to go."
As the game went on, it was time for Universe 6's legendary assassin to take his turn at bat.
Hit held the bat with one hand, staring at the pitcher's mound. Yamcha, of all people, was the one throwing the ball.
Yamcha gulped. "O-okay, just gotta throw a good pitch… and not get killed…"
He wound up and threw the ball.
Hit's cold eyes followed its trajectory.
THWACK!
He barely moved, but the ball vanished—sent flying faster than the human eye could track.
"HOME RUN!" Whis announced as the ball soared over the stadium, disappearing into the sky.
Caulifla cheered. "That's how you do it, Hit!"
Hit merely walked back to the bench, adjusting his collar. "Simple."
Yamcha groaned, clutching his head. "I knew I shouldn't have come…"
The game came down to the last inning. Team Beerus led by one run, and Team Champa had one final chance to win.
The bases were loaded.
Cabba stood at bat, sweat beading down his forehead as Beerus himself prepared to pitch.
"Y-you sure this is safe?" Cabba gulped.
Beerus smirked. "If you can't handle it, then sit down, kid."
The ball whizzed through the air.
Cabba swung—and missed!
"Strike one!" Whis called.
Champa screamed from the dugout. "Cabba, don't mess this up!"
Next pitch.
Cabba swung again—and hit!
The ball shot toward Piccolo, who caught it with ease.
"OUT! Team Beerus wins!"
The field erupted in cheers—except for Champa, who threw his hat to the ground in fury. "AGAIN?! THIS IS RIGGED!"
Beerus cackled. "Better luck next time, Champa!"
As the dust settled, Goku threw an arm around Cabba's shoulders. "See? That was fun, huh?"
Cabba, still sore from his loss, chuckled. "I guess… but next time, we'll win!"
Caulifla grinned. "Damn right we will!"
Kale nodded, blushing. "Mhm!"
As the teams left the field, Hit turned to Goku. "I still don't get this game."
Goku just laughed. "Don't worry, Hit, you'll get used to it!"
