Pentious felt as though he was flying. Everything was a rush, a blur as his body was catapulted into an endless vorb of spirals and colors. Hopefully the spell was working and it would take him to Cherri.

Finally he saw a bright light up ahead and was engulfed by its brightness. Then everything became still. Pentious made out the sound of crickets and felt a fresh cool breeze brush on his scales. Blearily his eyes opened then they widened. He was laying in a field of some sort, with small white flowers blossoming and around the field were mountains standing proud and tall against the twilight sky. Pentious got up and slowly slithered to look around.

"Did it work? Am I in Cherri's dreams?" he wondered aloud.

Noticing a hiking path leading up to the mountains, he decided to follow it. Where in the world could he be? This land was foreign to him, nothing like the 18th century England he knew during the time he was alive. It seemed more open, deprived of people and their bustle. Could this be where Cherri lived before she died? Was it a memory?

Suddenly a loud sound came from the sky, followed by a shower of sparks. Pentious grinned. Only someone he knew could pull off an explosion like that. Picking up pace, he slithered down the winding trails leading up the side of a mountain. He was about to the top, when something unexpectedly tackled him in the side, knocking him over.

"Alright, you creepy fuck, you think you can sneak up on bitches like me and have your way, you're dead wrong!" said a familiar female Australian voice.

Pentious gasped in delight. "Cherri! Cherri Bomb wait! It'ssss me!"

Cherri froze her fist mid air, her single eye wide, her breath caught short.

"Pentious?"

Pentious nodded briskly.

Cherri instantly scooted off him, her expression a mixture of shock and disbelief.

"Holy fuck. It-it can't be."

"But it issss my dear."

"But, you..you died. And you look so different."

Pentious paused, feeling self conscious all of a sudden. His appearance had undergone a slight change since becoming an angel. His dark colors were now white and gold with little spots of red and a halo shone above his top hat.

Moving back to give her a little space, he sighed.

"Yes, it's true, I was destroyed by Adam during the battle. I felt my soul starting to be ripped apart but then this light sucked me up and suddenly I was in Heaven."

Cherri blinked. "Wait, you were in Heaven?"

"Yeah, I know. It's crazy right?" Pentious said with a small shrug.

"Maybe. Then that means the Princess's hotel worked." Cherri said, putting the pieces together in her mind.

"Yes, it did! She was right all along. I never once doubted her work." Pentious said with a proud smile.

Then he noticed Cherri looking away and out into the distance.

"Cherri?"

Cherri turned her head slightly. "Are you really real or is it just my mind makin up shit just to make me feel better?"

"I really am real. I had special help from a friend so I can see you like this."

"Oh." the Cyclopian woman looked away. If he could see her face, he would have noticed how frail and tired she looked.

Pentious's brow furrowed. They were finally together now but there seemed to be this distance hanging between them. Fiddling with his fingers, the serpent moved to stand beside the cyclopian woman. Together they stared across the plain, the cool night wind in their faces.

"This is um, a beautiful place." Pentious spoke first, hoping to break the ice.

"Yeah, it is. Mt. Kosciuszko was one of my favorite places to visit when I was alive. I would come up here all the time to think and to escape all the madness at home. And create a little madness of my own as well." Cherri said with a slight smile. "I often dream of this place, somewhere I can feel a small moment of peace and forget all my troubles." her eye casted down and her smile vanished.

Pentious's stomach flip-flopped nervously. This reunion wasn't going the way he hoped it would.

"Why didn't you let us know that you were alive?" Cherri spoke after what felt like a long time.

Pentious blinked in surprise. "Huh?"

"You had survived something that could have permanently killed you and you didn't think to send us a message or a sign that you were still around and kickin?"

There was a bitter note to her tone, which caused Pentious's insides to turn inside out.

"Well, I, um, it wasn't like I didn't want to. I was just told to wait about until they got the news of my arrival organised and then contact Hell." he nervously explained.

"Did you think of us the whole time you were up here? While you were flying through the clouds and singing the fucking gospel?" Cherri snapped.

"Yes of course, I thought about everyone all the time!"

"Then what about me?!" Cherri whirled to face him and Pentious fearfully flinched as he saw the contorted look of anger on her face. "Do you realize how hard it was for me, to think that you were dead, to spend many moments missing our fuckin fights, for me to actually miss your fuckin presence?!" Tears started to well up. "You know, I missed you man. I missed you so fuckin much. But now to see you, find out you're not dead, I should feel relief but…I'm so fuckin conflicted right now!" She clench the sides of her head. "When you told me that you loved me, I was really happy. And that made me recognize my feelings for you as well. Then you die and I was all…" Cherri fell to her knees, face buried in her hands. "You broke my heart, you idiot. And you really thought that this "meeting in our dreams" plan would help us both feel better? It can't. Cause there are too many emotions man. I don't know what to feel anymore."
