First, thank you for all the reviews. I'm slipping not thanking you. I promise I'll do better.
It has been brought to my attention that I never put a trigger warning up saying that there was going to be a kidnapping. I really didn't realize that someone could have gone through that trauma. I have personally apologized.
I would like to say I will never write about rape or drunk drivers. Most people who personally knew me to know why. So, I will try and think about all the chapters and try to put a trigger warning in the future. Thank you.
Trigger warning this chapter is the details of Izzy's kidnapping.
Narrated by Shelly Cope.
Chapter 9
It was Monday morning, and they still hadn't heard anything from Izzy's kidnappers. The incident room had to move from the school to the town hall. Charlie had been grateful that Stanley was no longer the mayor.
A team of FBI agents arrived. Sue the FBI profiler told Charlie she thought Renee was behind the kidnapping. She thought this because the kidnappers seemed to have chosen Izzy. Many children played in their yards, and some walked to the park. They had waited until Izzy was on her own.
Mark had other ideas. He thought it could be someone who wanted to get even with Charlie for putting them away. The FBI disagreed with Mark's theory. The FBI told him there would have been a ransom note. Also, no one had been released from jail, recently.
The Cullen's were surprised to see Emmett and Rose. Jasper had contacted them as soon as he had heard about Izzy going missing. Alice and Jasper felt his parents never cared enough for Izzy. The only thing they kept doing was making excuses for Teddy's behavior. Emmett wanted to help find his little sister. Rose believed Teddy was getting away too lightly with his attitude and what he had done to their Izzy.
Emmett made it plain to his parents that Teddy couldn't get away with this attitude he had. The hurt he had caused Izzy was unacceptable. It caused a massive fight in the family. It finished with Emmett and Rose walking out, saying they either do something about Teddy and his attitude or they wouldn't be returning to the house again. Rose pointed out that if they allowed Teddy to continue like this, by the time he was a teenager, he would be out of control. Emmett hoped they wouldn't regret their choices for not correcting his behavior now.
Emmett told his parents that Rose and he would get their things once they left the halls and got their own place. They would never be coming back to the house.
When Jasper told them he would be going to school on the East coast. He, too, wouldn't be coming back. He couldn't stand by and watch his parents let their son go down the road of self-destruction.
Of course, Teddy was quick to blame Izzy for this. It made Rose and Alice lose their cool with him. They agreed with the boys. They couldn't stand by and listen to Teddy say horrible things about Izzy. She was a complete sweetheart, and they had thought that Carlisle and Esme loved her as much as they did. She was the innocent party in this mess.
Esme ran to the door and begged them to come back and discuss this further. But none of them went back, leaving Esme in tears.
Meanwhile, Izzy was frightened. All she wanted was to go home to her Daddy. Izzy wished she had told him about Teddy, saying he would cut her lovey up. He would hurt her while she was asleep if she stayed at his house again. He said she was never his one, Siobhan was. Siobhan kept pinching Izzy's arm or back through her shirt, and she had bruises to show for it.
All Teddy had done was laugh. She felt hurt, let down, and betrayed by him. Also, Teddy's family and the grown-ups who knew this was happening to her.

Izzy
"What the fuck have you two done? The Wolf sent me to bring you back. You should have known the van was fitted with a tracker. You'd better dump the van, and we will use my car," Sparrow informed.
Sleepily Izzy woke stretching, thinking she had been dreaming.
But she soon realized it wasn't. She laid still. She was listening to a woman and two men talking about her.
Tears rolled down her face when she realized she wouldn't be able to go home.
"How did this even happen?" Sparrow growled.
"Harmony told us she was being abused by her husband; that's why she left?" Buzz asked.
"Yes, that's why she wanted the little one because he was hitting her and leaving her on her own," Meadow replied.
"I'm still not convinced of her story," Buzz replied. "I only went to get the little girl because harmony has taken our son. She also knows we were trying to leave."
"We watched this little one for a week, and we saw for ourselves that she had to sneak around, and no one even acknowledged her in that town," Meadow offered.
"I'm still not convinced. Harmony will do anything to live in the big house with the Wolf. She's been sleeping her way further up the ladder. I'm not sure what the angle is with the little one, but I hope it is not a mistake taking her," Buzz replied.
"Harmony knows too much about our plans," Meadow offered.
"I know Harmony wants to get higher in the commune pecking order but to grab the kid. I mean her husband is the Chief of Police in that Podunk town," Sparrow added. "This could end badly for all of us."
"I hope not. The Wolf will punish us for bringing trouble to the commune," Meadow replied.
Sparrow bumped the car he had stolen just outside of Forks; getting into the van they stopped at Port Angles to put Izzy in the car he had left there. Meadow stayed with her and met up with Buzz as soon as he bumped the van and set fire to it. He was hoping that he hadn't left anything that could trace them back to the commune. He knew if he had, he would be moved. Buzz wasn't stupid; he knew that "being moved" was an inventive way to get rid of his body.
"How are you going to disguise her in case the cops stop you? You do realize there will already be an amber alert to find her," Sparrow asked.
"We didn't think. We were just going to drive back," Buzz confessed.
"Fuck! You two are going to get us killed. You know my dad has said that if I bring trouble, I've gone as well," Sparrow growled out. "Find a thrift store and buy her some boy clothes then take her into a bathroom in the mall and get her changed. You'd better cut her hair as well. Jesus, what the fuck have you dragged me into?"
Izzy lay as still as she could, trying to think of a way to run away from these people. She wanted to get back to her Daddy. She promised herself once she got home, she would tell him everything Teddy had said and done to her. She would also tell him everything those meanies at school have been doing to her and show him all the bruises Siobhan had given her.
Izzy fell asleep soothed by the rocking of the car.
"We have a long way to go. Meadow and Buzz will take you to use the bathroom. You must be a good little girl. If not, our friend will hurt you and your daddy. Do you understand?" Sparrow commanded.
Izzy looked towards the floor and nodded. They helped her out of the car. Both Meadow and Buzz held Izzy's hand as they walked to the bathroom.
Quietly, Izzy did as he said. She didn't want her Daddy to die and be a star in the sky.
"I need you to stand still," Meadow instructed.
She was nodding her head. She nervously watched when Meadow pulled Izzy's hair into a ponytail. Taking a giant pair of scissors out of her bag, she cut off Izzy's ponytail leaving short, uneven hair.
"Take off your boots, overalls, and shirt," Meadow said.
Izzy took off her clothes. They passed her a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a jean jacket, and a baseball cap, along with tennis shoes. She put them on, pulling the baseball cap over her eyes. Izzy cried silently. Her clothes were stuffed in a bag.
They walked out of the bathroom, where Buzz waited. He took Izzy's hand and walked out to the parking lot where they dumped the bag with her clothes in a big dumpster.
Sparrow waited hoping that they wouldn't be caught. The only thing going through his mind was what had he done to warrant his father to want him dead as well.
He was that angry by the time they got back to the car he had just driven, and the car was in complete silence.
Once again, Buzz put a cloth over Izzy's mouth and nose, and she fell asleep.
As sparrow drove, he just tried to work out how to do this without getting caught.
Izzy was woken by someone lifting her. She looked around. She was in a room with two beds; it looked like a house. There was a TV and a machine that made Daddy his morning drink.
Someone knocked on the door. Izzy could smell the food before she saw it. Izzy's stomach growled at the smell.
"I hope you like the food we have. Your mom told us it was your favorite," Meadow said.
"I shouldn't think that bitch even knows when it's her birthday let alone what she likes to eat," Sparrow muttered.
Meadow shared the food with everyone. Izzy looked, and she didn't like pepper, especially not on a pizza.
"Teddy and I never have anything on our pizza," Izzy commented.
Meadow looked across at Buzz. Renee had told them that Teddy was her imaginary friend she had for when she was locked under the stairs.
Everyone ate in silence. Izzy looked around the room to see if there was a way out or if she could leave a message so her daddy could find her.
Sparrow had left to take the empty boxes away when everyone had finished eating. Meadow cleared her throat.
"Honey, they don't have a tub here for you to have your night-time bath. Have you ever used a shower before?" Meadow asked.
"Yes, I had them when I was at Teddy's house. I can't wash my hair. His mummy did it for me," replied Izzy.
Smiling, Meadow took her into the bathroom.
She couldn't believe all the bruises over her petite body. Any doubt she had about taking her was long gone.
Meadow got the scissors to tidy up Izzy's hair.
"Do you have a little girl?" Izzy asked.
"I have a little boy. His name is Henry. He's back at the commune with your mommy. She's been looking after him while I came to get you," Meadow replied. "Come on, let's get you to bed. You've had a busy day."
"Where am I sleeping? There are only two beds," Izzy nervously asked.
"You are sleeping in the smaller bed. Buzz and I will sleep in the other one. I think Sparrow will sleep on the sofa," Meadow replied.
Izzy became concerned but didn't want to make Sparrow angry. He had pulled the sofa over the door and slept there. Her daddy had told her to make sure there was always a path to the door in case of a fire. Now, what would happen if there was a fire? For a grown-up, he was stupid, and she wasn't allowed to say that. Mrs. Clapp, her teacher, told them it wasn't nice to call someone stupid.
Izzy didn't sleep very well; she cried a good deal of the night. Even she could see that she wouldn't be able to escape. The only thing she could think of doing was trying to get a message to her daddy about where she was.
Izzy knew her phone number, but she didn't think she would be left alone long enough to make a call. Sparrow had a cell phone, but she didn't know where he kept it.
One of them always held her hand so she couldn't ask for help. One thing she did know was she didn't want that cloth over her mouth and nose again; she didn't like it. She would have to think about it more.
Izzy didn't think Sparrow wouldn't hurt her. But, he made her feel uneasy, so she stayed close to Meadow.
"Izzy, it's time to get up, sweetie," Meadow whispered. "Go in the bathroom, wash your face, brush your teeth, and put these clothes on. Do you like Lucky Charms for breakfast? They are Henry's favorite."
"Yes, I like Lucky Charms. I have them at home sometimes. But when I'm at Teddy's, I have pancakes and bacon with fresh-squeezed orange. It's yummy," Izzy replied, beaming.
"That's good. We have orange juice in a box. But maybe before we get to the commune, we can go to IHOP and have some pancakes. How does that sound?" Meadow asked.
"Yes, that sounds like it's a nice place," Izzy said. "We only have the diner in Forks. Collin, he's in my class at school. His mommy and daddy have the diner."
"That must be nice to go there for breakfast," Meadow answered.
"Yes, Collin is nice to me, not like those other boys. Ben is nice as well. He's Angie's one. Emmy and Rosie said everyone has their one," Izzy offered.
"That's okay thinking like that kid, but you will find that the only one you can rely on is yourself. People will let you down and outright lie to you," Sparrow offered.
Meadow took Izzy's hand as they left the room.
"Don't let him put that cloth over my mouth, please," Izzy whispered.
"I'll do my best," Meadow replied, squeezing her hand.
"I need a booster seat in the car," Izzy stated.
"You don't, honey, your eight. That's when you don't need a seat," Buzz replied.
"No, I need a booster seat because I'm seven. My daddy said so," Izzy sobbed. "I want to go home to my daddy. I don't want to go to my mom. She hits me and shakes me."
"Doctor Teddy's mommy has a seat for me in her car. Teddy doesn't like having his seat because he says seats are for babies. I'm older than him. His birthday isn't until June. Mine is in September the year before, so I'm older than him. I'm the oldest in my class."
"It's okay, honey; we will go to target and get you a seat. If you are good when we get there, I'll buy you some coloring things and reading books. How does that sound?" Meadow replied. "Come and sit closer, and I'll hug you. That will make it feel better."
"But I want my daddy or Emmy to hug me. My Dad always makes me feel better," Izzy sniffed.
"It will be okay once we get to your mommy," Buzz offered.
"But I don't like my mommy, and she doesn't like me," Izzy replied.
"Come on; we must go to a Target store. I want to get on the road. The Wolf wants us back in the next two days. I don't want to piss him off," Sparrow demanded. "I thought she told you the kid was eight, almost nine. Doesn't she know the age of her own kid? this is a bad idea can't we just leave her somewhere."
Meadow glared at Sparrow, then took Izzy's hand.
"You will be okay until we get to Target. It shouldn't be much longer," Meadow offered.
"Make sure the child lock is on. I don't want her to try and jump out of the car when it's moving. It's bad enough that you have grabbed her. If we get caught, I'm not going to prison for you two. I'll tell them you took me and made me drive. I'm seventeen they will believe me," Sparrow snapped.
"Sparrow, ease up. She's just a little kid, and she's frightened. I know Henry would be," Buzz growled.
Buzz went to ask where the nearest Target was as Meadow got Izzy into the car. Sparrow checked that the child lock was on.
Izzy just looked out of the window, hoping to be able to get help to go back home to her daddy.
They pulled into the parking lot of Target.
"You stay in the car with her. What do we need?" Sparrow snapped.
"Buzz knows what to get a child. Some juice boxes would be good," Meadow added.
"I can't believe Harmony is holding Henry until we get back. Do you think the Wolf has anything to do with this," Buzz asked.
"First, I don't care what you have to say. Second, his name is Leaf. You joined the commune and had him baptized into the flock when you committed yourselves. You are no longer John just as Meadow gave up the name Vera. I'm not having fun making sure you both go back. I would rather be back home than babysitting you. So, let's get back on the road. I don't intend to stop, so I hope you can help with the driving. We're supposed to be back in two days. Leaf will be shipped out if we're not, and I don't know if you will ever see him again," Sparrow replied.
"He wouldn't do that, would he?" Buzz asked.
"He's run the place for about twenty years. I've seen him do it many times, and so have you. So why do you think you would be an exception? I don't know what Harmony has held over you both to make you do this, but that bitch will do anything to make her way into the Wolf house. I just wish I didn't have to be a part of it. That little one loves her dad. I think this Teddy is a kid a real kid not an imaginary friend like you said the bitch told you," Sparrow added as he put a booster seat onto his cart.
They were quiet as they left the store and while they fitted Izzy's seat into the back of the car.
Buzz took Meadow to one side and told her what Sparrow had said about Henry.
Meadow tried to force back the tears as she didn't want to frighten Izzy by crying. She hated Harmony even more than she did before. Meadow should have never sent the letter to her sister asking for help in leaving the commune. Harmony snooped around everyone's business. She saw the letter and was now blackmailing them.
Meadow just hoped that the crazy bitch did not hurt little Izzy. As soon as Wolf asked Harmony who she would bring into the fold, she never hesitated to say, Izzy. Renee made it clear to the other women while they worked. She had no intentions of keeping little Izzy with her. Izzy was just a way for Harmony to move into the Wolf house. Meadow promised herself that she would do her best to keep Izzy close to her.
Everyone was anxious to be getting back. Sleeping in the car was difficult. But they had to stop mostly for Izzy to have toilet breaks.
Meadow helped Izzy color in her books and read to her. Izzy drew pictures to make them look like the other kid's pictures from school. She didn't want anyone to know how good her drawings were.
They stopped at a diner sixty miles from the commune. Everyone was stiff from sitting for the past day and a half in the car.
"Have you had enough to eat, Izzy? When we get back, we might have missed meals. You won't get anything else until tomorrow," Meadow asked.
"Yes, but I need to use the bathroom," Izzy replied.
Izzy knew this was the last time she would be able to get help or for her daddy to find her.
"Ready to go?" Meadow asked. "They're waiting for us outside."
"Yes, I'm ready," Izzy answered as she walked behind Meadow.
"I've made this for you to put on the wall," Izzy said to the server.
"Okay, thanks, honey," the young woman said, puzzled.
She pushed the picture on a shelf under the till.
"Why did you do that, Izzy?" Meadow asked. "If you are trying to get help and we get caught, your mom will have Henry sent away, and I'll never find him. You wouldn't want that would you?"
"At our diner, we give them pictures, and they put them on the board near the till. They had a board, so I thought they might put my picture up," Izzy answered.
"Honey, that board was for advertisements and phone numbers," Meadow replied.
"Oh," Izzy said, looking down.
"I'm sure they will put it somewhere," Meadow offered.
"This is your last chance to give the girl a better life. Why don't you leave her here or drop her off somewhere safe," Sparrow begged.
"No, we want our son back," Buzz growled.
Izzy looked out the window and got concerned when they started driving for miles of land with no houses. Then in the distance, she saw a wall that went on forever.
"We are here now. You must be a good girl. Do as you're told and I'm sure you will be fine. You will get a new name. Make sure you answer to it, and you won't get punished. I think you might be living with all the other children. I don't think your mom will keep you with her," Meadow instructed.
A large double gate opened, and Izzy could see all the different-sized buildings, with a big house in the middle of all the small ones.
"Hi, Sparrow. Welcome home. Wolf wants a car tomorrow to move some people. He said we could dump it on the way," A tall man said.
"I'm glad to be back, Apollo. It's been the longest eight days of my life. Is the Wolf around?" Sparrow asked.
"They're getting everything ready for her baptism," Apollo answered.
"Already? She hasn't had time to adjust," Sparrow stated.
"We've got her bed ready with the other unwanted kids. They will put her to work tomorrow," Apollo confirmed.
It didn't sit well with Sparrow, but he knew better than to question anything.
"Isabella come here now and meet everyone," Renee said as she grabbed Izzy's arm.
With a smirk at Meadow, she pulled Izzy away from her.
"I don't want to stay here. I hate you," Izzy seethed.
"For once in your miserable life, just shut up. We've got to get you dressed in a pretty white dress to get your new name," Harmony said.
Before Izzy could do anything, her mother pushed her into a house. Izzy was dressed and taken into a big room. Waiting in a white suit was an older man with long black hair, which had been tied back.
"Come, little one," Wolf smirked.
"No, I want my daddy," Izzy shouted as she struggled against her mother's grip.
Apollo grabbed Izzy and pushed her into the water.
Izzy lost her balance and fell into the water.
Renee laughed. "She's so clumsy."
"Come to me, child, and you can join us in paradise," Wolf said.
"I don't want to. I want to go home to my daddy," Izzy growled.
The Wolf grabbed Izzy's arm to pull her towards him.
"You will be known from this day forward as Sky. You will serve the commune and honor me," Wolf said as he immersed Izzy into the water.
Harmony followed the Wolf out of the room, leaving Izzy standing in the water, not knowing what to do.
"Come this way, Sky. Your mother has left you. I knew she would," Apple, an older lady, said.
Izzy followed her, shivering.
"I'll get you some dry clothes and show you to your room. You will be sharing with three other foundlings—children who have been abandoned by their parents. Don't expect to see Harmony again. You have served your purpose," Apple added.
Izzy was given a change of clothes and told to get some sleep as her day started at dawn.
Izzy cried herself to sleep.

Back at the diner.
"Why don't you ever clean up under this cash register," the diner manager yelled.
Pulling everything out, she found a picture drawn by a child. She saw writing on the back. She scrunched it up to throw it into the bin until she saw the message on the back.
HELP ME. I BEEN TAKEN. I WANT MY DADDY. MY NAME IS IZZY SWAN I'M FROM FORKS. PLEASE TELL MY DADDY TO COME AND GET ME.
"When did this get left here," Fallon shouted.
"I don't know, maybe a week ago," Joellen shouted.
Picking up the phone, she dialed the sheriff.
"Hi, Sheriff. It's Fallon from the diner. You better come over. I've just found a picture," Fallon said. "The kid from Washington that was snatched a couple of weeks ago was in the diner last week and asked for help."
"I'm on my way," the sheriff replied.
Even though he knew it was too late to do anything to help her. At least they would know she hasn't been taken out of the country yet.
