Max was very glad when his lunch break arrived. It was Sunday today and Sundays were always the busiest day of the week for the giant Spoonerville Sports Store. It sold everything that had to do with sports, including bikes, skateboards, scooters, skis, tubes, water skis, jet skis, water tubing, sledges, snow mobiles, snowboards, parachutes and hand gliders among them. They even sold clothes including cycling clothes, runner clothes, ski clothes and ice-skating shoes among them. With the store being so enormous and the amount of the stock it bought and sold, it was often said that it could be a shopping mall for sport clothing and items all on its own.

Max's job at the store was an assistant who worked in the backroom. He would help with the stock, counting how much they had left of the stock, he would help with the delivery trucks when new stock arrived and he would put the new stock in the store when he was told to. Whenever he was asked by customers where a certain sport item was sold, he would either point them in the right direction or take them to it if they needed him to before he went back into the backroom.

Max had this job since he was fourteen and he worked shifts on weekends. When he wasn't at school and he had more time to work, he would work more on weekdays as well. Even though it could be tiring like all jobs could be from time to time, he loved his job. He was glad he got the job when he did because he earned money, it helped to prove his worth to the customers and the other members of staff of the store, it helped to make him look good on his resume and he felt that he learned more at work than he did at school.

Unfortunately, there was a problem with Max's lunch today – it wasn't in his bag. Then he remembered that he was running very late for work this morning that he didn't have the time to make anything for his lunch – he didn't even have time to grab an apple or a banana from the fruit bowl in the kitchen. Also, his dad Goofy was away at the weekend in Duckberg playing golf with his friends Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck at Scrooge McDuck's golf course so he couldn't make anything for Max's lunch in an emergency.

Then Max noticed that there was something on the other side of the road. It was a large fast-food restaurant and it was called Sunrise Meals. He had never been to there before as he always remembered to take his lunch to work, before today that was. Then he checked his bag and he was very glad that he had remembered to bring his wallet and that he had enough money to buy a meal. Then he made his way to Sunrise Meals.

After ordering a cheeseburger with fries and a carton of lemonade at the restaurant, Max sat at a table all by himself. He only had to wait seven minutes for his order to arrive. He was very surprised when his order arrived. It was exactly what he ordered, only it was double.

"Excuse me," Max said to the waitress, still looking at the food and not at her. "You brought the right food, but it's more than I ordered."

"I know, Max."

Max was very surprised when he heard the waitress say his name and even more surprised when he recognized her lovely voice. Then he looked up to see her.

"That's because half of that is my lunch too."

Max was very delighted to see who the waitress was. "Lisa!" He rose up so he and Lisa could greet each other with a kiss on each other's lips. Then they sat down at the table and they ate their delicious lunch.

"And don't worry, Max," Lisa said. "Your lunch is on me. I insist."

"Okay, then. Thanks, Lisa."

This was Max's first time at Sunrise Meals and he was really enjoying his very first lunch there, which Lisa was delighted to hear that. Then he told her that the reason he decided to give this restaurant a go was because he had forgotten to pack his own lunch.

"But if I didn't forget to make my own lunch," Max said to Lisa, "I wouldn't have learned that you work here, let alone try this tasty food."

What Max said made Lisa feel very happy. "Thanks, Max. It's nice to know that we have another satisfied customer." Then she told him that she had been working at this restaurant since she was sixteen and she enjoyed her job of being a waitress ever since her very first day.

Max was very happy that Lisa enjoyed her job. Then he told her that he worked across the road at the Spoonerville Sports Store for about a year now and how much he enjoyed his job as well. Lisa was very pleased to hear that Max was enjoying his job too.

After they finished eating their delicious lunches, Max and Lisa both still had half an hour left before they had to get back to work, so he took her to the Spoonerville Sports Store with him. Now that he saw where she worked, she wanted to see where he worked.

And Lisa was very glad that she went with Max because she thought the store he worked at was very awesome and she enjoyed seeing all the cool sports stuff that they sold. And Max enjoyed giving her a tour of the whole store, except the backroom of the store which was a shame because that was where he worked the most but he couldn't show her because no unauthorized personnel was allowed there.

By the time the tour of the store had finished, both Max and Lisa had only five minutes to get back to work.

"Thank you so much for showing me this place you work so hard at, Max," Lisa said. "It's truly amazing."

"Thanks, Lisa," Max said. "And thank you for that very delicious lunch."

"No problem," Lisa said. "I hope you come again."

"I hope so too. Maybe I should forget to pack my lunch more often."

Both he and Lisa chuckled at that joke. Then they hugged and kissed each other before they went back to work.
