Peter was abruptly propelled by a swift kick to his back, hurtling him through a thicket of dense bushes. He tumbled backward, his body rolling awkwardly until he came to a sudden halt against the rough bark of a tree. A pained groan escaped his lips as he struggled to regain his balance. Fighting against the disorientation, he glanced up to see Laura, also known as Laura, poised for another strike. Their confrontation had ignited when Kraven had dispatched her to confront him, but Peter desperately sought to quell her fury, hoping to reason with her. Yet the fire in her eyes made it all too clear—she was in no frame of mind for conversation.
"Just so that we are clear: You are the worst half-sister that I ever had," Peter groaned as he tried to regain his strength. "I mean if I had a nickel for every half-sister that wanted to kill me, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but odd that it's happened twice, rig- YIEP!"
Laura wasn't listening as she grabbed Peter by the leg and dragged him over where she then tried to stab him in the face. Peter quickly shifted his head to dodge the strike. Laura then tried to go at it again with her second hand, but she just missed him. Peter then got an idea as he kicked her upward, sending Laura flying into the air. Latching a web to her foot, Peter saw he was going to have to get her to let her anger out first.
Kraven was watching the entire fight from the cliffside and was awed at the fight. "Beautiful..."
Brooklynn and Kenji were still in awe and shock, and a little bit of confusion when they saw Ben standing there. He was last seen falling off the monorail, but that was easily weeks ago. And a lot has changed since then evidenced by his new attire and the grown-up Bumpy. Ben tossed the stick that he used to knock out Hap.
"Hey...?" Ben greeted.
Kenji wasted no time as he ran over and hugged him. "How? How? How?"
Then it was Brooklynn's turn as she ran over and hugged him. "Hmm."
That was when Hap groaned and got them to look back towards him. "Oh, right. We should probably deal with that." He then got to work and tied Hap up with vines, a skill he picked up over the weeks as he tried to explain what happened. "Fell off the monorail, got savaged by pteranodons, found Bumpy, survived in the jungle, met this new kid, I named her Laura as she didn't talk, defeated Toro, and then I overheard that fancy couple conspiring with this guy, Hap. So I figured you guys might need my help."
They were amazed to hear what Ben had been through. The guy who was worried about germs, and was here covered in mud and ripped jeans. He sure has changed a lot over time.
"Oh, hey, I still have your dork pouch," Kenji said, looking down to see it was gone. "What?"
"Oh, yeah," Ben revealed as he snatched it back. "I snatched it off of you earlier. But thanks for keeping it safe." He then picked up the cattle rod. "Could have used this while fighting ol' Toro, eh, Bumps?"
Brooklynn then interrupted him. "Ben, focus. We can get back to this whole 'new girl' in a minute. The couple, what exactly did they say?"
"Not too much, but they're definitely up to something." Ben shrugged. "Haven't even seen Laura since they arrived. "Hap has to be in on it."
"What about Kraven?" Brooklynn wonders.
"Who?" Ben asks.
"Guess you never saw him," Brooklynn guessed.
"Well, what do we do about him?" Kenji asks.
"I say we feed him to the Mosasaurus or the T. rex." Ben offered possible solutions.
Hap then stood up, still tied up in the branches. "Or you could listen to me."
Everyone gasped as they saw he wasn't knocked out. "You're awake?" Brooklynn asks.
"Of course I'm awake." Hap scoffed. "You think I'm gonna be taken out by a bunch of kids?"
Ben raised the cattle prod up to the man. "Challenge accepted."
"Put that down, boy, before you get yourself hurt," Hap warns him.
"Someone's getting hurt, old man, but it ain't me," Ben stated.
"Zap him, Ben!" Kenji calls.
"With pleasure," Ben states.
"Bring it!" Hap dares.
"Everybody, chill!" Brooklynn called out, trying to calm down the situation. She jumped between Hap and Ben, keeping him from zapping the man. "Lower the weapon, Ben."
"You're protecting this guy?" Brooklynn asks. "Whose side are you on, Brooklynn?
"I am on the "not electrocuting a human being" side, Ben," Brooklynn states.
"We don't have time for this!" Hap calls out. "You kids have to trust me. I'm trying to save your lives."
"Did you pack the camo net like I asked you to, babe?" Mich asks.
"I already told you I did, babe," Tiff replies, carrying a bag and tossing it to him.
"It's just sometimes you forget, like that time with the-"
"Night vision goggles. Two years ago. Let it go, babe."
Darius was confused when he saw all the gear. "Uh, what's going on? I mean, do we really need all this to go look for Brooklynn, Peter, Yaz, Kenji, and Hap?"
"We just wanna be prepared for whatever we might encounter along the way," Tiff says as he walks off, placing a bag down. "After all, the boat will be here in three days. You wanna be rescued in one piece, don't you?
"What?" Sammy asked. "You had said the boat would be here in two days."
"Two to three days. Right, babe?" Mich asks.
"Hundred percent. Mm-hmm." Mich confirmed. " Now grab that "stuff" we need from Hap's yurt."
"Um, I thought Hap said no one's allowed in his yurt," Sammy said, looking toward Darius in confusion.
"All right. Why don't you guys have some chocolate?" Tiff asks, pushing them off and away from the area. "It's from France. And over there. Go on."
Sammy and Dadius backed off from the sitting area, a little distance away. "Is it weird or just me?" Sammy asks.
"What?" Darius asks.
"How do you forget what day the boat is coming back?" Sammy clarified. "And they're being kinda shady about all that stuff they're packing."
Darius scoffed when he heard that. "You're just as paranoid as Brooklynn." He looked over to the tent and watched Tiff and Mich leave, they had too big of smiles to not be up to something. Sammy looked over to Darius in concern.
"Fine, I'll prove you both wrong." Darius sighs. "Here's the plan..."
"Hey, Tiff! What's in that?" Sammy asks, jumping over to try and distract them. "Ooh, what's in that?"
That gave Darius the chance to sneak into the tent and look around. He saw two cups on the table and just scoffed. "Real suspicious." He said sarcastically looking around. He then noticed there was an entire table full of knives. Not just cutting knives, but hunting knives. He then looked over and noticed bear traps, hunting crossbows, and even a few had what he guessed was a family crest. Kraven...
Then there was something under the tarp so he yanked it off to see what it was. He gasped and shrieked as he jumped backward, seeing that it was the head of a Triceratops.
That was when Mich returned and saw the boy. "What are you doing here, D?"
"You're not eco-tourists." Darius finally realized. "You're all-"
"Big game hunters, yeah," Mich confirms as he picks up hunting knives. "Yeah, we didn't find Kraven, he runs in the same crowd. Loved the chance to come to Jurassic World. Honestly, I'm glad you've seen this, Darius. Friends shouldn't lie to each other."
"You said you got our distress beacon." Darius reminds him.
"Oh, yeah, no idea what that is, but we didn't want you asking questions." Mich shrugged. "And, hey, it all ended up working out." He then showed a tablet from his bag. "Bought this ACU tablet off the black market." He tossed it to Darius. "It was supposed to help us track the chipped dinos, but…"
Darius saw the tablet wasn't working. "The grid's down."
"Uh-huh," Mich confirmed. "And despite Hap coming highly recommended, he's been pretty useless at finding dinosaurs. And its like since getting here, Kraven just praises these creatures. Saying that tracking these creatures is an insult to his craft. He doesn't know half the stuff about them, or the island, that you do. So, now you can help us."
"How could you possibly think I'd help you kill dinosaurs?" Dadius asks. "I thought you cared about them."
"I do," Mich states. "I've been waiting my whole life for this. Living, breathing dinosaurs, up close and personal?" He then looked to the decapitated head of Triceratops. "But Isla Nublar is under UN quarantine. The dinosaurs, they've been abandoned, forgotten. We're the last people to ever see them. I am trying to preserve the memory of Jurassic World. Don't you get it? Thanks to us, these magnificent creatures will live on forever!"
"By mounting their heads on your wall!" Darius cried.
Mich sighs. "Oh, I'm disappointed. I really thought we understood each other, D. But I'll make this easy for you." He then shows that Sammy was being held by Tiff with a cattle prod. "You help us bag the dinosaurs we want, and we'll take you and your friends home. You don't, and we leave you all here. Abandoned and forgotten, just like the dinos. So, Darius…what's it gonna be?"
Laura went in to stab Peter and he grabbed her fist to stop the blades. She fought back and the injuries as well as the poison Kraven gave him helped Laura with getting an advantage. Peter then quickly moved his head out of the way, allowing the claw to impale the dirt rather than him. Laura drew her second hand brought out the two claws between her knuckles and went in to strike again.
Peter moved out of the way, but she stabbed him in the shoulder, causing Peter to groan. He headbutted Laura, causing her to get slightly dazed, but it did more harm to Peter if anything. His head was left in a daze, but he worked fast to kick Laura off of him. Shooting two webs, he began to tangle Laura up in the webbing.
Laura retracted her claws and then stabbed the webbing, ripping her way out. She then went in to try and stab him again, but Peter dodged to the right, and when she repeated the same with her other fist, Peter dodged to the left and dodged the attack. He then managed to back off a little, giving some space between the two. Peter leaped over Laura, watching as she went to try and strike him from above.
That allowed Peter to web her claws so that they were now dangling above her, and then he leaped over a tree branch, yanking Laura upward. She was left dangling as she roared, trying to attack him.
"Okay, I know you can talk, so don't go trying to fool me with that one," Peter said as he approached Laura. "So, let's talk. Like actual people. Why are you trying to kill me?"
"You know why," Laura snarled.
"Let's pretend like I don't," Peter said, not realizing she was using the dangling swing to cut the webbing holding her up. "I didn't do anything to you. I can only guess what they had done to you, and I am sorry."
"Sorry?! You can't apologize for what you've done!" Laura cried, swinging and using her foot to stab Peter.
Peter screamed when he felt the talon in his stomach. He then felt as Laura swung and cut herself free. She charged at Peter, trying to stab him, but he grabbed her by the arms.
"I'm not..." Peter then realized what to do and reached up, yanking off his mask to show his face to Laura. "I.. am not... my father!"
Laura froze when she got a good look at Peter. She assumed that he had to be the same person since his scent was with Richard's. She then looked at the hands and realized he was also enhanced.
"I am a victim of our father's experiments, just... like... you..." Peter tried to help her see reason. He then reached over, using her own claws to cut his arm, showing his blood to her. "I am the one person in the world who might understand you." He then reached over, trying to be nice to her. "And the only family we might have for one another."
Laura seemed to finally be convinced as she reached over and pulled Peter in to hug. He was shocked to see how quickly she changed over but decided to just go with it and hug her back.
"I've got you," Peter promises. "I've got ya."
Laura then caught the scent of someone and snarled. "Kraven..."
"Oh, right, he's still out there," Peter finally remembers. "That's something we are going to have to deal with..." he then looked to Laura with a grin. "Together."
Laura smiled and nodded, retracting her claws, watching the sun hit them with a large grin on her face. "Let's fucking go."
"Is that your catchphrase or something?" Peter wonders.
Hap was now on his knees while he was trying to explain everything to the group.
"Okay, start talking," Brooklynn tells him. "Why were you-"
"Are these Windsor knots?" Hap wonders. "Where'd you learn how to tie people up?"
"Hey! We're asking the questions." Ben told him.
"Yeah! Dude here has a dinosaur and he's not afraid to use her." Kenji stated, gesturing to Bumpy.
Hap didn't seem to be intimidated by him and Ben approached. "I got this." He stood over Hap, marching closer. "Think you're tough? You don't know the meaning of tough." He then showed off a bruise on his leg. "See that? Leech bite."
"Whoa!" Kenji said in shock.
Hap then showed off his own scar. "Gator bite."
"Sunburned for three days straight." Ben stated."
"Buried for a week in an avalanche!" Hap cried.
"Chased off a pack of Compies!" Ben stated.
Hap leaned closer. "Wrestled a pack of-"
"Punched a hammerhead in Hawaii!" Brooklynn cried out, stopping their competition. "We are all impressive!"
Kenji felt a little left out. "I'm really wealthy."
"Okay, how exactly is chasing us through the jungle saving our lives?" Brooklynn asks Hap. "Plus, we heard you tell Mitch and Tiff you were going to "take care" of us."
"I'm trying to, by getting you home," Hap explained. "Look, I'm no angel, but once they said they were gonna leave you all here to die, well, I had to do something, didn't I?"
"Really?" Brooklynn asks.
"Look, what's important is getting you out of here." Hap states.
"I still don't buy it," Ben said. "Let's tie him to a tree and be done with him."
"We have a boat moored at the northwest dock," Hap said, getting them to gasp.
"There's a way off the island?" Kenji asks.
"You all said it was refueling," Brooklynn stated.
"We lied." Hap sighed.
"Wow, that's supposed to make us believe you." Brooklynn scoffed.
"Listen!" Hap was getting a little infuriated. "I scouted out some kind of garage near here when we first landed. We can take a vehicle, get to the dock, and prove I'm telling the truth. Kraven isn't exactly on Mich and Tiff's side, he just wanted to come to this godforsaken jungle. Please. Believe me."
The three of them backed off a little to talk on their own, leaving Bumpy to watch over him.
"He's lying. I can smell it on him," Ben stated.
"Look, if he is telling the truth, Darius, Peter, Yaz, and Sammy, are in big trouble." Kenji reminded them. "We have to trust him."
"You know what kept me alive out there, city boy?" Ben asks.
"City boy?" Kenji muttered.
"My instincts," Ben stated. "And they say, "Don't trust Hap." I vote we go after our friends and leave him here."
"You're the tiebreaker, B. What do we do?" Kenji asks.
Brooklynn sighed as she knew that she needed to figure out a plan. "Okay, here's what we're doing. Kenji, Ben, and I are going to save our friends."
Ben cheered. "Yes!"
"And we're taking you with us," Brooklynn tells him.
"No! What? W-Why?" Ben asks.
"Because he might be telling the truth," Brooklynn stated.
"Kenji for the win." Kenji cheered.
"Then get these off me, and let's go!" Hap said, watching her approach.
"Not so fast," Broklynn states.
Kraven the Hunter stood confidently amidst the vibrant tapestry of lush greenery that enveloped him, the cacophony of chirping birds and rustling leaves surrounding him like a living symphony. His keen eyes, sharp as a hawk's, scanned the dense underbrush, intent on deciphering the chaotic aftereffects of the fierce battle between Laura and Peter. Kraven was driven by an insatiable desire to uncover the victor, for it would reveal who among the two would become his most exhilarating prey in this untamed arena.
Having journeyed deep into the heart of the jungle, he embraced the idea that this primal setting was the ultimate playground for his hunting instincts. The air was thick with humidity, sweetened by the scent of damp earth and blooming flowers, and a sense of anticipation buzzed in his veins. Suddenly, a sudden rustling from the bushes broke the stillness, and with a whirlwind of motion, Peter swung into view. He landed gracefully on a sturdy branch, the sunlight glinting off his iconic red and blue suit, ready to spring into action. The tension in the air thickened, and Kraven's heart raced with the thrill of the hunt just beginning.
"Hey, Kraven!" Peter cheered. "I hope you brought your bug spray because this jungle is swarming with pests!"
Kraven turns, a mix of irritation and amusement on his face when he sees Peter survived. "You underestimate the thrill of the hunt. I shall take down both you and the girl who stalks in the shadows!"
As if on cue, Laura drops down from a tree, her claws glinting in the sunlight. She lands silently, her expression fierce and focused. "You're not the only one who knows how to navigate a jungle, Kraven."
Kraven narrows his eyes, taking in both opponents. He draws his spear from his back, ready for the encounter. "You think you can challenge me by working together? Then I will make you both as my trophies!"
With a swift motion, Kraven throws the spear toward Laura, but she dodges with cat-like reflexes, rolling to the side. Peter uses his web-shooters to ensnare Kraven's arm, pulling him off balance.
"Nice try, but you should really work on your aim!" Peter cried.
Kraven grunts and uses his free hand to cut the webbing with a knife, then charges at Peter. The agile hero swings high, flipping over Kraven and landing behind him.*
Laura seizes the opportunity, lunging forward with her claws aimed at Kraven's back. He spins just in time, blocking her strike with his spear, the clash of metal and claws echoing through the jungle.
"You're fast, but not fast enough!" Kraven comments, countering with a series of thrusts, forcing Laura to parry and evade.
Peter, from above, shoots webs at Kraven's feet, trying to immobilize him. "Let's make this a team effort! We can take him down together!"
Laura nods, focusing her attacks on Kraven while Peter keeps him distracted. She strikes with precision, landing a few hits and forcing Kraven to backpedal. Kraven, realizing he's being overwhelmed, retreats into the dense foliage, using the environment to his advantage. He activates a series of traps he had laced since his arrival.
"You may have the advantage now, but I am the hunter!" Kraven cried out. "You will fall!"
As Peter and Laura pursue him, they trigger one of Kraven's traps—a net that ensnares Peter! With a quick reflex, Laura slashes at the net, freeing him.
"We have to outsmart him," Peter tells Laura. "Remember, we lived in this jungle, he's only been here a few days. This is our territory."
Laura nods and begins to formulate a plan, using Peter's webbing to create distractions. He shoots webs at nearby trees, causing branches to fall and create noise, drawing Kraven's attention.
As Kraven turns to investigate, Laura launches herself at him, claws extended. The clash is intense, and for a moment, they are locked in combat, each trying to overpower the other.
Peter swings in, delivering a swift kick to Kraven's side, causing him to stumble. The trio continues to exchange blows, a whirlwind of agility, strategy, and raw strength.
Finally, after a fierce back-and-forth, Laura lands a decisive blow, slashing at Kraven's arm, and Peter follows up with a web shot that ensnares Kraven's legs, bringing him crashing down to the jungle floor.
Peter began panting. "Guess the hunter is now the hunted, huh?"
Kraven struggles, but the combined efforts of Peter and Laura prove too much. He glares at them, a mixture of respect and frustration in his eyes. "This isn't over."
"For now it is," Peter stated with a sigh. He then groaned as he and Laura began to walk off. "Don't worry, once we get to the boat and get back to the mainland, then we will let people know about him."
Laura scoffed. "He could rot and be eaten by Toro for all I care."
Peter was a little confused when he heard that. "Wait, you know Toro? How?"
"Ben told me," Laura said.
Peter was shocked when he heard her say that. "Ben?" He asked in shock and worry. "Ben... is alive?"
"You thought he was dead?" Laura asks.
Peter felt as if a weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. "Oh, my god!" He cheered as he grabbed Laura, trying to hug her but she went a little defensive. "Oh, my god!" He pushed past and just grabbed Laura into a hug, spinning her around. "Oh, I am so happy to hear that! He's alive! Oh, wait until the others..." That was when he froze in place and looked around. "Oh, god! Yaz!" He cried looking off to the jungle. "She- she has to be running back to the camp to tell the others of what happened with Kraven!"
Laura looked around and tried to smell around, using her enhanced animal instincts to search the air for her scent. Luckily due to being in close proximity to Peter, there was still a scent of her on him.
"I think I found it," Laura said, racing off and Peter quickly following after.
Rather than untying Hap, they tied him up and had him followed along on a vine wrapped around his hands.
"Well, at least she knows how to tie a knot," Hap stated.
"I'm telling you, he's leading us into a trap," Ben stated.
"Dude, please don't let Ben be right about you," Kenji begs Hap. "I can't start listening to a guy who eats bugs."
"This way, Bumpy. Allegedly." Ben said, leading Bumpy towards the path that Hap led them on.
"And he's talking to his dinosaur." Kenji moaned as he walked ahead.
"You, uh…" Hap said to Brooklynn. "Hey, you really punch a shark?"
"It was more of a flailing panicked punch," Brooklynn admitted. "But, yeah, I did."
"Nice," Hap said. "You and I-"
"Just so we're clear, Hap," Brooklynn interrupted him. "We're not friends and I don't trust you."
"I wouldn't trust me either. But you can." Hap promises. "And I'm gonna prove it to you."
"Brooklynn, look!" Kenji called, getting them to come forward, seeing there was indeed a garage.
"Believe me now?" Hap asks.
"An empty garage in the middle of nowhere proves nothing," Ben states.
"Maybe the vehicles are inside," Kenji replied.
They began to head forward towards the garage when Bumpy began to act up as three Baryonyxs were hunting through the jungle. As they made their way over to the door, they spotted the three of them sniffing around.
"This is bad," Brooklynn whispered.
"I know it wasn't easy, but you made the right choice, kid," Mich said as they were walking through the jungle. "Thanks to you, we'll be done in no time."
Tiff groaned as she was swatting bugs around her. "We better be. Oh, God! I told you I never wanted kids. Now we have two of them and no guide."
"We don't need a guide, babe," Mich said. "We have Darius.
They then heard the bushes rustling, getting them to look over towards them, preparing the cattle prods, wondering what was coming. But to their surprise, it wasn't a dinosaur, it was Yaz who came to a stop and fell down in a groan when she saw her ankle caught up with her.
"Guys... Peter-" Yaz stopped herself when she saw what was going on. "Wait... what is happening?"
"You are going to wish you kept running," Sammy said in fear.
"Well, there we go, babe, now we've got two insurance policies the kid will comply with us," Mich said as Tiff grabbed Yaz.
"Comply?" Yaz asked in confusion. "Darius, what is going on?"
"Darius is our new tour guide," Mich answered. "And he is taking us to… drumroll, please."
Darius sighed. "The watering hole."
"A one-stop dino-hunting shop!" Mich cheered. "This kid is something. Didn't I tell you this kid is something, babe?"
"What?" Yaz asks.
"They're hunters," Sammy caught her up.
Yaz saw that they had to talk and decided to act like her ankle was worse than it was. She cried and dropped on her knee and groaned.
"What? What is happening?" Mich asks.
"My ankle hurts. I ran through the woods for a while." Yaz answered. "I need a break. Just for a little bit."
"Fine." Tiff sighs. " It's exhausting keeping these bugs away." She groans as she walks off and Mich follows her. "Why are they only attacking me?"
"You can't seriously be going along with this," Yaz said as she leaned against a log. "We have to do something. Peter needs us. Kraven is hunting him.
"What?" Sammy asks.
"Yeah, he got ahold of Peter's dad's cross-species book, and now wants to hunt them, using Peter as bait to draw out others," Yaz explains the situation to them.
"I want to help Peter, but we can barely help ourselves. We only have two choices," Darius explained. "Help them and get back to our families and hope Peter can hold his own, or don't and stay trapped here forever regardless of what happens to Peter and Kraven."
"What's option C?" Sammy wonders.
"There is no option C!" Darius sighed. "We just have to… Look, I promised I'd get us all back home, no matter what it takes."
"But…" Yaz was saying when Mich creeps up on them shushing them.
"You hear that?" Mich asks.
Back with the others, they were still hiding from the three Baryonyxs while Bumpy was making too much noise. While they were backing up, Kenji was trying to get the door open but it required a card. Brooklynn backed up past the scanner just as the door opened.
"How did you…?" Kenji wonders.
Brooklynn took out the keycard and realized what it was. "The key card I found in Wu's lab."
They all then sneaked their way inside of the facility to stay hidden from the three Baryonyx.
"Why would the birthday guy have a key to this place?" Brooklynn wonders, now piecing it together yet. "Unless it's a master key. It could open something in Wu's lab. It could open everything!"
"Here we go again." Kenji moans.
"Quiet," Hap says. "She's the only one of you that has any sense at all."
Brooklynn made her way over to another card scanner when she heard voices. "Those things got this close!"
"It's not my fault!" A second voice cried.
"Some tracking ability you have there. What, did you smell the gas and want to see it?"
"What the hell does that even mean?" A voice asks.
"You are officially the worst half-sibling ever," Peter said as they noticed the two of them.
"Peter!" Brooklynn cried in relief as she ran over and embraced Peter. "Oh, I am so happy to see you! What happened?" She then noticed the bruises and dry blood on his suit. "Is that blood?"
Peter looked down and saw the wounds. "Oh, yeah, you can blame her for that," He stated, gesturing towards Laura. "She stabbed me in the back, and shoulder, and tried to get my face."
Brooklynn looked over to Laura in anger. "And she is...?"
"My half-sister, Laura. X-23." Peter said.
"X-23 from your dad's book?" Brooklynn asked as she looked at Laura. "Wow... she looks more..."
"Human?" Peter finishes her thought. "Yeah, much more human than Scorpion. She must have been one of the later ones."
"Wow," Brooklynn says.
"Oh, Laura," Ben gave her a wave. "This is the girl I was telling you about."
"Really?" Kenji asked as he put on the tough guy act and approached her. "Hey there, names-"
Laura cut him off mid-thought, thrusting her fist forward, the blades springing from her knuckles in a clear warning for Kenji to keep his distance.
"You are... also a mutate," Kenji said, recalling what Richard called humans with animal-mutated DNA. He then chuckles nervously and backs off. "Message perfectly clear."
Brooklynn chuckles and looks at Peter. "No need for a protective big brother, huh?"
"You kidding? I am sorry for anyone who thinks they can get with her," Peter stated as he groaned. "Trust me, they are sharp."
"Where's Kraven?" Brooklynn wonders.
"We left him dangling," Peter said as he gave Laura a bump. "Little sis and I gave the hunter a double strike, leaving him in a cocoon of webbing." Peter then wondered something. "How did you get in here?"
"The birthday guy's keycard we found," Brooklynn answered. "How did you get in?"
"You left the door open," Laura said, retracting her claws.
"We closed it on the way in," Peter assured them. "Wait, have you guys seen Yaz?"
"Wasn't she with you?" Kenji asks.
"Before I had a run-in with Backstabber," Peter said, gesturing to Laura. "I told her to run."
"I thought I was tracking her, but I was tracking... her," Laura said, gesturing to Brooklynn. "Her scent is on your clothes."
"What?" Peter and Brooklynn ask, almost blushing.
"Her scent is on you," Laura shrugged.
Peter began stuttering, looking at Brooklynn who was blushing. "I- we- she- he... WAIT!" He then started to piece it together. "Main Street. She fell asleep, resting on my shoulder."
"Right!" Brooklynn said. "And without showers..."
"I couldn't wash your scent." Peter finished the plausible explanation.
"Which means Yaz is still out there," Kenji said, gesturing to the outside.
"Oh, god, he's right," Peter said with a gag. "Ugh, it hurt to say that."
Brooklynn then went back over to the card scanner. "This should open this door, too."
When Brooklynn used the scanner, it began to open up the main doors to the garage. Everyone began to panic as alarms were blaring, giving the hint to the other Baryonyxs that they were inside.
"Brooklynn!"
"Shut the door!"
"Bring it!"
Brooklynn tried to shut the door with the card, but nothing was happening. They quickly all ran to hide, Peter had to drag Laura off since she was itching to fight them. The Baryonyxs were approaching which caused them to panic.
"How do we get out of here?" Peter asks.
"There!" Hap gestured to a motorcycle with a sidecar.
Ben then had an idea when he saw barrels of gas, kicking one over and allowing it to spill towards the entrance. Getting on top of Bumpy, he lit the gas using the cattle prod and caused a massive explosion. Charging out of the flames on Bumpy with Laura on her back, Brooklynn drove the motorcycle with Kenji, Peter, and Hap inside the sidecar.
They raced off into the jungle to get as far from the Baryonyxs while the flames blinded them. But it didn't help them for long as they then chased after the two of them.
"I'll draw a couple this way." Ben offered, turning to the right and leaving them.
But the three of them didn't seem to care for them and went after the motorcycle rather than the dinosaur.
"No good," Hap said. "We've still got all three."
"Maybe they remember when I webbed their mouths shut," Peter joked as he stood up, preparing to fight.
"Remember the good old days when we'd only tick off one dinosaur at a time?" Kenji asks.
"Ah, good old days of yesterday!" Peter cried as he shot two webs against some trees, trying to use it as a barrier.
Brooklynn saw a possible escape up ahead. "We'll lose them in the tall grass!"
They drove through the tall grass, but the Baryonyxs were still keeping up with them.
"Any other ideas?' Kenji asks.
They drove through the grass and found themselves surrounded by various gigantic boulders. They tried to drive around them. While they did so, Peter used his powers to shoot webs and keep them back, or punch them when they got too close.
"That's the clutch!" Hap tells them. "Brake with your foot! Foot! Right! Watch out!"
They then watched as one of the Baryonyxs used the boulders to leap over and tried to tackle them.
"They can't do that," Kenji said in shock. "How'd they learn to do that?"
"Untie me! I can help!" Hap offers.
Brooklynn wondered what to do and looked over to Peter. "What do you think?"
"Better than Kraven!" Peter proclaimed. "Do it, Kenji."
Hap then was untied and took the rod. "Try and keep it steady."
Hap then used the cattle prod to keep the three of them back, but things were only getting worse with the four of them weighing down the motorcycle. With no trees, Peter couldn't risk trying to swing.
"This thing isn't fast enough!" Brooklynn cried. "No way we're gonna make it!"
Hap looked to the Baryonyxs and looked to the three of them. "Not all of us." He stated, standing up with the cattle rod. "You kids…live a good, long life!" He then stabbed the sidecar hatch, dislodging it from the motorcycle.
"Hap?" Peter asks, watching as he leaps from the motorcycle and prepares to keep the Baryonyxs back. "Hap!"
"Hey!" Hap called to the dinos. "The party's over here!" He keeps them back, keeping them off from the kids.
They didn't see what happened next, but they could take a guess...
"Hap, he…"
"He took care of us… just like he said he would," Brooklynn said with sorrow as they drove off.
They kept on driving through the jungle when someone came running out of the bushes, causing them to skid and stop their motorcycle. Looking over in surprise, they saw that it was Yaz.
"Yaz?" Peter asked as he ran over to help her up. "Yaz! You're okay! I was so worried!"
"Peter?!" Yaz cried in relief as she grabbed him and hugged him in relief. "I thought Kraven-"
"He's been dealt with," Peter assured her. "Laura helped me."
"Who's Laura?" Yaz asked, trying to hide her jealous tone.
"My half-sister," Peter shrugged.
"Oh," Yaz said, the relief in her voice not going unnoticed.
"Where are Darius and Sammy?" Peter wonders.
"Tiff and Mitch have them," Yaz answers in terror. "Darius is leading them to the watering hole so they can kill the dinosaurs there."
Peter scoffed when he heard that. "Darius would never do that."
Yaz then revealed that there was a piece of paper in her hand from Darius and unwrapped it. "You're right, he's leading them here."
Looking down at the map, they saw that it was leading them towards Main Street. Where the Tyranasorus nests...
