The weekend after Valentine's Day. All of the young supers were coming to the compound to train. Skye was looking forward to it. That was until she saw Thor walk in with Kid Loki.
"What is he doing here?" Skye asked, annoyance clear in her voice.
"I could ask the same thing about you," Loki said snarkily.
"Actually, you can't because I live here, and this is my universe," Skye said.
"And thanks to you, my universe is destroyed," Loki said, narrowing his eyes at Skye as he moved towards her, trying to intimidate her.
"Kind of hard to destroy someplace where I have never stepped foot," she said taking a step towards Loki, showing she was not scared of him.
"Okay, that's enough," Steve said, placing a hand on Skye's shoulder to stop her moving forward as Thor did the same to Loki.
"Captain Rogers is right. I do not want to hear about you two having problems this weekend," Thor said.
"Is that clear, Skyler?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, it's clear," Skye said.
"Loki," Thor said.
"Yeah, I get it," Loki said, pulling his shoulder away from Thor's grasp.
Loki was shown to the room he was going to be staying in. Skye went to the living room, where everyone else was, and sat next to America.
"I take it you knew he was still in this world?" Skye asked her.
"I did, but I was told not to say anything. Sorry," America said.
"It's okay," Skye said.
Soon Loki came into the living room as well. Bruce followed close behind.
"Who wants a tour of the labs?" Bruce asked.
And everyone but Skye got up and followed Bruce.
Steve came into the living room and sat with Skye. "You didn't want a tour?" he asked with a smile.
"I could give the tour," she said with a smirk.
Steve chuckled. "Probably," he said before he changed the subject "I know you and Loki haven't had a great start to a friendship. And I'm not saying you need to be friends with him. But as you said, this is your home. He is a guest. And I expect you to be cordial with him."
Skye took a breath and nodded.
Steve nodded. "I know it's not the same, but I know you are not the kind of person that Loki has described from his universe."
Skye smiled, "Well, no, it's not the same, but I appreciate it."
"Why does it bother you so much that he thinks that way? You don't know him," Steve questioned.
"I've done some things in my past that I'm not proud of sure, but I have never gone out of my way to be mean to anyone. And the Skye he is describing sounds like she not only went out of her way to hurt him and Thor, but that she manipulated Loki's feelings to do it. That is cruel. I don't want anyone thinking I'm like that," Skye said.
Steve nodded. "Give it time. Be nice, as you have been told, and I'm sure he will come around."
"I'll be nice, but I'm not going to hold my breath for that," Skye said.
Steve nodded. "Fair enough."
About an hour later Steve got a text. He checked it before looking at Skye. "Come on. You and I are needed in the training room.
Skye got up and went with Steve to the training room, where the other youth were with Tony, Nat, and Wanda.
For the next hour, they trained together before they were called for lunch. They all went upstairs to the kitchen and ate.
After lunch and cleaning up, Loki excused himself and disappeared while everyone else went into the living room to watch a movie.
About half an hour later Skye decided to go outside and get some fresh air. She went to her favorite place and found Loki sitting there smoking a joint.
She let out a huffed laugh.
Loki looked up and sighed. "You going to go tell on me?"
Skye took a breath. " Not if you share."
Loki raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were a good girl in this universe."
"I never said that. I just said I wouldn't hurt Thor or you unless provoked," Skye said.
Loki held out the joint.
Skye sat next to him. She took it and took a hit of it before handing it back.
"This doesn't mean I trust you," Loki said as he took another hit.
"Okay," Skye said.
The two sat in silence sharing the joint for the next ten minutes until the door opened and Steve and Thor came out.
The joint was taken from Loki's hand by Thor. "Apparently, our last discussion about this did nothing," Thor said.
"Skyler Sarah Rogers, I'm surprised," Steve said.
Loki rolled his eyes, and Skye let out a breath.
"Who's it this?" Thor asked.
Neither of the teenagers spoke.
"Skyler, is it yours or Loki's?" Steve asked.
"Mine," she said. She figured this was her opportunity to show Loki she wasn't out to get him. She knew she was in trouble regardless.
"Inside, now," Steve said.
"You too, Loki," Thor said.
Both teenagers got up and went inside followed by the two adults.
Thor grabbed Loki by the collar of his shirt and led him into his room.
Steve led Skye into her room as well.
The two adults went to the kitchen, leaving the teenagers in their rooms. At that point, they were high, so any conversation and consequence would fall on deaf ears.
"I'm guessing you found your two teenagers doing something they shouldn't have been doing," Nat said.
"Smoking marijuana," Steve said. "I'm sorry Skye dragged Loki into this."
"It's not the first time I've caught him smoking. He was a willing participant in it," Thor said.
"You wanted them to get along," Nat said with a smirk.
"Natasha, that is not funny," Steve said.
"She is not wrong. We did want them to get along," Thor said.
"But not like this," Steve said.
"No, you're correct," Thor said.
"Careful what you wish for," Nat said, still smirking as she left the room.
A couple of hours later Steve knocked on Skye's door.
"Yeah," Skye said.
Steve went in.
"Skyler, what were you thinking?" Steve asked.
Skye sat up on her bed. "I just wanted a minute to get out of my head."
"And weed is the only way you could come up with to do that? And you didn't leave the compound today, so you have had the weed before today," Steve said.
Skye let out a breath, giving herself a chance to come up with how she got it. "I got it a couple of days ago when I went for a walk."
"And you dragged Loki into trouble?" Steve asked.
"No, he came outside and caught me. He said he would cover for me if I shared," she said. She was hoping Loki would give the same story, otherwise lying would have been pointless.
Steve shook his head. "I'm really disappointed in you, Skyler. I thought we were past this."
"I'm sorry," she said softly.
Steve sat on the bed next to her. "Sorry isn't going to cut it this time. You went out and bought weed, you were smoking it, and, instead of letting yourself be caught, you brought Loki into it as well."
"Dad, it's not like it's the first time he smoked weed. He knew what he was doing," Skye said.
"I don't care," Steve said. "You knew better."
Skye nodded.
Steve pulled her over his lap and spanked her until she was sobbing.
"You ever going to smoke weed again?" Steve asked.
"No," she sobbed out.
Steve sat her up, wrapped her in a hug, and held her as she sobbed into him.
Meanwhile, in the other room, Loki was sitting on a chair in the room looking at his phone and ignoring Thor.
Thor took his phone from him. "You want this back, you will pay attention to me."
"Hey!" Loki said.
"Shut it, the only words I want from you is an explanation," Thor said.
"It was Skye's weed," Loki said. He had been surprised she had covered for him and, as much as he disliked her, he wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.
"That doesn't mean you needed to smoke it," Thor said.
"You wanted us to get along. I found her out there smoking it. She offered it as a peace offering to keep me from telling on her," Loki said.
"And you could have walked away. You could have come and told me or Captain Rogers what was happening. You took part in it, so you are responsible for your actions in this," Thor said.
"Whatever," Loki said.
Thor took a breath. "What did I say would happen if I caught you smoking again?"
"Some empty threat," Loki said.
Thor yanked his brother from the chair he was sitting in and took the spot pulling, the teenager over his lap.
"Hey!" Loki said as he tried to fight against Thor.
"I promised you if you were caught smoking again, I would tan your hide, and I keep my promises," Thor said as he pulled the squirming boy closer and wrapped his arm around his waist to keep him still.
Loki continued to squirm and fight until he felt the first smack to his backside, shocking him still.
After the first smack seemed to calm him, Thos gave him another two. "You're done fighting this?"
Loki let out an annoyed breath but didn't say anything.
Thor took that as a yes. "Why am I doing this?"
"Because you're an ass," Loki said.
Thor gave his brother half a dozen hard smacks. "Try again."
Loki bit his tongue to keep from yelping. He was not going to let his brother have the upper hand in thinking this was hurting him.
"Because you are a controlling oaf," Loki said.
Thor gave him another six hard smacks, this time on his sit spots.
A small grunt escaped Loki's lip.
"I have nowhere else to be, brother. We can continue this until you choose to cooperate," Thor said.
Loki said nothing.
Thor had gone into this deciding to let Loki keep his pants on. But at this point, he needed Loki to understand how serious he was, so he stood his brother up and started to unbutton his jeans.
"What are you doing?" Loki asked, trying to push his hands away.
Thor ignored him and unbuttoned and pushed down Loki's pants before pulling him back over his lap. "You will cooperate and answer my questions, or I can remove your last layer."
He gave him two more hard smacks. "Why am I doing this."
"Ouch! Okay. Because you caught me smoking weed," Loki said, quickly realizing his brother was not going to back down.
"Correct," Thor said. "And is that something I approve of?"
"No," Loki said
"Right," Thor said as he started to give his brother the spanking he had planned.
Loki did his best to breathe through it and focus on anything that wasn't the stinging sensation that was gradually getting worse.
Thor continued until he could hear the hitch in his brother's breathing. He didn't expect he was going to get the boy to cry.
"And are you going to smoke any kind of substance again?" Thor asked.
"No," Loki said between gritted teeth.
Thor gave him two more hard smacks before standing him up in front of him.
Loki quickly fixed his pants, and Thor opened his arms.
"I'm not hugging you after that," Loki said.
Thor gently pulled his brother into his arms. "I will just hug you, then."
Loki fought a little but, while he would never admit this, it wasn't the worst thing in the world to be hugged by his brother.
They all went out and joined the group in the living room.
The next day they were all back in the training room working one-on-one with a partner. Skye was working with Shuri. She didn't know her very well, but she knew Shuri was crazy smart and strong. She was someone Skye knew could help her improve, so she was glad when she had been paired with her. The two were sparing.
Skye let out an annoyed breath after she missed three shots in a row. Shuri used that to her advantage, taking the opportunity to knock her to the ground. Skye grunted.
Shuri put a hand out and pulled Skye up when she grabbed it. "You can never let your guard down. The villains will wait for that moment to strike."
Skye nodded, and the two went back to sparing.
After training and lunch, the young people were in the living room just talking when Happy came into the room with two officers.
"Skye, where is your dad?" Happy asked.
"I think he's in the kitchen," Skye said, looking between him and the officers. She recognized one of the officers from her past. She hated that particular officer.
Skye got up and went into the kitchen. Happy and the officers followed.
"Dad, there are some police officers here with Happy," Skye said.
"Steve Rogers," Steve said, standing up and reaching his hand out to shake theirs. "Officers, what can I do for you?" Steve asked.
"Officers Robbins and Eaton, we need to talk to you and your daughter," the officers said.
Steve led them into the office, closing the door behind them. He did not realize that he had not closed it completely.
"What is this about?" Steve asked.
"We have been given information that Skyler might have had contact with her old friend group," Officer Robbins said.
Steve looked at Skye, instantly wondering if that was where she had gotten her marijuana.
"It's not true," Skye said.
"What is your source?" Steve asked.
"Tucker Nelson," Officer Eaton said.
"Tucker said she spent time with the old group?" Steve asked, finding it hard to believe that, even if it was true, he would have given her up.
"You're lying," Skye said.
"And why would you think that?" Officer Robbins asked.
"Because it's not true. And Tucker would never lie and say I did," Skye said.
"Your friend isn't as loyal as you think," Officer Robbins said.
Skye took a breath to calm herself down.
"Why would Tucker just give her up like that?" Steve asked.
"I'm sure it was to attempt to lessen his time in jail," Officer Robbins said.
"He was arrested?" Skye asked, her eyes filling with tears.
"He was," Officer Eaton said.
"For what?" Steve asked.
"He was caught with the group, selling drugs," Officer Easton said.
"And what exactly did he say that I did?" Skye asked.
"That you were out selling for them," Officer Robbins said.
"I might believe she had hung out with them again once. But Skye is barely ever alone. She is here or school, where she is highly guarded. If she is out, she is generally with an adult that I trust. I think she has been alone outside of the compound and school twice since I got custody of her. And it wasn't recently," Steve said.
"I remember you, Officer Robbins. We all know what you do. You throw out these wild accusations that are so far from the truth, hoping that someone will cave and admit to something they did. And in the past that worked because I had been doing illegal things. But you are not going to catch me up with some bullshit lie this time. And little a tip, if you ever want a chance to that working for you again, don't use Tucker as the person who gave me up. Because he would never," Skye said. "I haven't done anything wrong."
Officer Robbins pulled out a warrant. "We have a warrant to search."
Steve took the warrant and read it over. He didn't know much about the legal speak in the warrant. He went and opened the door to the office and called for Tony, who came. Steve noticed Loki standing near the office but didn't think much of it at the moment.
Tony came into the office and the door was closed. Steve handed Tony the warrant.
"Why?" Tony asked as he looked it over.
"Someone has claimed she has been selling drugs," Steve said.
"Yes, because she'd have time for that," Tony said sarcastically. He read over the warrant carefully. "This says you can look in her room only."
"I'm sure that's where her stash is," Officer Robbins said.
Skye shrugged. "I have nothing to hide."
The officer's backs were to Steve at the moment, and he looked at Skye and, thinking back to the events of the day before, mouthed, "You have nothing?"
Skye shook her head.
"Yeah, we don't have a choice," Tony said as he led the officers to Skye's room.
The officers started their search. Tony and Happy watching.
Steve stayed in the office with Skye, closing the door again.
"Are you okay?" Steve asked.
"No," Skye said, her eyes filling with tears again.
Steve wrapped her in a tight hug.
"He told me the last time we hung out, when he pulled me out of the funk, that he almost went back to hanging out with them again. I got annoyed with him. I made him promise he wouldn't do it again, and he did promise," Skye said.
"I'm so sorry, peanut," Steve said.
Skye sobbed into him.
"It's going to be okay. We will do everything we can to help him," Steve said.
"What can we do?" Skye asked.
"Get him the help his family won't," Steve said.
Skye looked at him.
"We know lawyers, good ones," Steve said.
"You'd be willing to do that?" Skye asked.
"I think it's more if Jennifer is willing to do so, but yes. Because when I couldn't be there for you, he was. I know that if I hadn't found out about you, you'd probably have ended up in jail, too. You changed because you had the people to help you. I know Tucker means so much to you. We are going to help him," Steve said.
"Thank you, Daddy," Skye said.
"Now I need to know the truth, I should have asked you yesterday. You have no marijuana left?" Steve asked.
"No," Skye said. "I promise."
Steve nodded. "You don't just have it hidden somewhere not in your room?"
"No. I have none," Skye said.
"Okay," Steve said.
After the officers had destroyed her room looking for any drugs and not finding any, Officer Robbins was annoyed.
"Now that you are done destroying the room of a fifteen-year-old and found nothing, as you had been told, are you done bothering us?" Tony asked.
"We will be back," Officer Robbins said.
"No, any more questions you can contact Skyler's lawyer," Tony said, handing Officer Robbins a card with Jennifer Walter's information.
"So, you don't care enough about the teenager to make sure she pays for her mistakes, I see," Officer Robbins said as the two officers walked towards the door.
Happy stopped Tony from going after them. "I will show them out." Happy followed, giving Tony a chance to calm down. He was angry.
Tony took a breath and went back to the office. He opened the door. "They're gone."
"Thanks, Tony," Steve said.
Skye wiped at her eyes. "I'm okay."
"It's okay if you're not," Steve said.
Skye shrugged. "I can't think about it right now. I just need time with the information."
"Okay," Steve said.
The three left the office. Tony and Steve went into the living room. Skye went to her room and sighed, looking at the mess. They were thorough.
"Who is Tucker," Loki asked.
Skye looked at him, confused.
"Your father did not close the door well," Loki said with a smirk. "Is he your boyfriend?"
Skye took a breath and walked away.
"Karma's a bitch, isn't it?" Loki asked.
Skye spun around and looked at him. "What is that supposed to mean?"
"It means, you turned your back on me and killed my brother, and now someone important to you has turned their back on you," Loki said.
Skye growled. The anger was building in her. Fire was growing in her hands, and she was doing nothing to stop it. "Shut the fuck up! Last I checked your brother is in the other room. And if this is karma for anything. It's for me taking the blame for you yesterday. Trust me, I will never do that again," she said as her entire body started to be encased in flame. "You have no idea what the hell you are talking about because my true friends like Tucker would never turn on me."
The commotion in the kitchen was heard on the other end of the building. Bruce was closest to the kitchen and got there first. Steve and Thor came in from the other entrance.
They got there just in time to see Skye throwing a fireball at Loki, who dodged it and laughed. They watched the fireball hit the back wall, and Bruce quickly put it out.
"Loki, stop it. And get out of here now," Thor demanded.
Loki smirked and just walked out of the room.
"Skye, close your eyes, remember what we worked on to help you calm down," Bruce said.
"I don't want to calm down. I want to kill," Skye said.
"I understand that feeling, but killing isn't the right answer," Bruce said.
"I don't care," Skye said. "He said I deserved it. Deserved to have my best friend turn his back on me."
"I don't know exactly what you mean, but no you didn't," Bruce said. "Don't let him get to you like this. He is not worth it."
"I fucking covered for him yesterday too!" Skye said her anger rising and the flames around her growing.
"Skyler Rogers, you do as you're told and close your eyes," Steve said.
"No," Skye said.
"Steve, I've got this," Bruce said. "Skye, think about it. Do you think, with the amount of people here, you could get to Loki without hurting anyone else? And does anyone else deserve your anger?"
"No," Skye said calming some.
"So, close your eyes, and take a breath," Bruce said.
Skye closed her eyes and took a breath. Her eyes filled with tears and the fire went out. She sank to the floor, sobbing.
Steve went over and wrapped her in a hug.
Bruce and Thor left the room so they could be alone. Thor went and grabbed Loki from the living room and dragged him to his room.
"What the hell did you say to her?" Thor asked.
Loki shrugged. "Nothing."
"You know she will tell her father what you said. And he will tell me. I'm giving you a chance to tell me first," Thor said.
"I didn't say anything. She has anger issues," Loki said.
"What did she mean she covered for you yesterday?" Thor asked.
Loki shrugged again. "No idea."
"Loki, when I find out the truth you are going to be in far more trouble than if you tell me now," Thor said.
"I don't know what she is talking about," Loki said.
Thor shook his head. "You do not leave this room until I tell you that you can." He said before he left the room.
Steve had picked up Skye and moved her to her room to get her away from the eyes that were starting to look into the kitchen. It was a bad weekend for this to happen. He laid her down on her bed and rubbed her back as she sobbed.
"It's going to be okay," Steve said softly, trying to comfort her.
Skye sobbed herself to sleep.
Steve got up and left her room. He went back into the office and called Jennifer to see if she would be willing to help Tucker.
Jennifer agreed to go see what she could do for him.
When they hung up Steve went back to the group.
Skye woke up about an hour later. When she was awake enough she took out her phone and called Tucker. She was hoping that maybe this had been all some big lie and Tucker hadn't been arrested. The phone rang once before it went to voicemail.
Skye let a few tears fall. This wasn't supposed to happen. Tucker had promised he would stay away from them. He promised. And Tucker had never broken a promise to her.
There was a knock on her door. She wiped the tears away before she said. "Yes, come in."
Steve stuck his head in. "Everyone is starting to head out. You should probably come and say bye."
Skye nodded and sat up, putting her phone in her pocket. She went to say goodbye to her friends, hugging them and ignoring Loki for the time being.
Once everyone had left Steve and Thor told both teenagers to have a seat in the living room.
Loki sat down, crossing his arms.
Skye sat and looked at her hands.
"Skye, please look at me," Thor said.
Skye looked up at him.
"I have a couple of questions, and I just want the truth. Loki has had his chance to tell me his side, so it's your turn. What happened?" Thor asked.
"I guess the door to the office wasn't properly closed or something, and he took advantage of that to listen in on our conversation with the police officers. I was told that Tucker had been arrested for illegal activity and he had told the police I was involved, too. Which, I wasn't. And even if I had been, Tucker would have never told them I was. I did tell the officers that I knew Tucker didn't tell them anything about me. I'm sure others in the group probably did. These would be the same people Loki pretended to be me around to try and get me in trouble." Skye said. "So whatever Loki thought he heard, he made clear to me that he saw Tucker turning his back on me, despite the fact he didn't, as karma for what my variant did to him and your variant in his world," Skye said.
Thor took a breath and nodded. "And what did you mean when you said you covered for him yesterday?"
"It wasn't my weed," Skye said.
Thor looked at Loki. "You let her take the blame for something that was your doing?"
Loki didn't say anything.
"Skye, why did you take the blame?" Steve asked.
"I stupidly thought if I did, he would see that I'm not my variant, and it would make things easier when we have to be around each other," Skye said.
Thor was still looking at Loki. "I'm still waiting for an answer, Loki. Why did you let her take the blame."
"She said it was her. What was I supposed to do?" Loki asked.
"Say no it is mine," Thor said.
"Whatever," Loki said.
"If you are like this, how could you possibly think anyone could ever like you? It's your own damn fault my variant set you up. You made it easy," Skye said, getting up and leaving the room.
"Your variant is the reason I'm this way!" Loki screamed.
"My variant, not me!" Skye screamed back, turning back into the room.
"Okay, both of you, calm down," Steve said.
"No, I'm so fucking tired of this. I've done everything right. I've done everything to try and keep the peace, and he actually says that if my best friend turned his back on me is because of some karmic justice because of something someone who isn't even me did!" Skye said.
"But it is you!" Loki said.
"Okay, so you are the Loki who is actually from this world? You should be held accountable for his actions? Because he's in prison for his crimes. You should be there too?" Skye asked.
"He didn't kill my brother," Loki said.
"There are variants of Loki from other universes who killed their Thor," Thor told him.
Loki looked at Thor.
"The Skye from your universe should be held accountable for what she did, but that is not this Skye," Thor said. "And you are not the Loki from this universe."
"Yet, he's here," Skye said.
"Skye, his universe was destroyed. There is nothing there," Steve said. "Everything and everyone he knew is gone."
"And I'm sorry about that. If I could change that, I would. But I can't, and I'm tired of being blamed for it," Skye said.
"And you shouldn't be," Thor said. "Loki, you are not unintelligent. You have to realize. This is not your Skye, and she is not going to hurt me. She is not trying to manipulate you into having feelings for her so she can get close to you just to turn on you."
"She was ready to hurt me. She tried to," Loki said.
"Because you said I deserved to have my best friend turn his back on me! You haven't had an easy life, I get that. But newsflash, neither have I!" Skye said. "And if you even bothered to try and get to know me, you would know that. But you just assumed I'm the same person who turned on you and didn't give it a chance," Skye said.
Loki let out a breath. "You grew up here, how could your life have been that hard."
Skye shook her head. "I didn't grow up here. I didn't even know he was my dad until just over a year ago. I grew up in foster care."
"What?" Loki said.
"The only person who has been there for me for as long as I can remember is Tucker. I survived foster care because of him. So you saying that I deserved to have him turn his back on me? That hurts," Skye said. "And it's uncalled for given that I didn't do anything to you."
"Oh," Loki said.
"And what a shock. You don't care," Skye said.
Skye looked at her dad. "Can I please go back to my room?"
Steve let out a breath. "This needs to be resolved so that in the future what happened today doesn't happen again."
"Well, he is never going to accept that I'm not the Skye from his universe, and I'm done fighting it," Skye said.
"Finally ready to admit it to be true, then?" Loki asked.
"I'm not going to admit to something that isn't true. It's just not worth fighting over anymore. You are never going to accept that I'm different than her, so I'm done wasting my time and energy," Skye said.
"I'm not going to accept some lies you are spinning to get me to trust you again," Loki said.
"Then don't. But don't forget. This is my universe. And if you continue to make my life difficult, I can make yours so much more difficult," Skye said before she walked away.
"See, right there. That proves to me she is the same person. She's the threat," Loki said.
"Loki, you have pushed and pushed. She has reached her limit. What do you expect?" Thor asked. "She has tried to be nice, to be your friend, but you just keep accusing her of being someone she is not."
"You will be very sorry for not trusting me when she hurts you," Loki told his brother.
Thor was frustrated. He just wanted Loki and Skye to get along. But nothing he said or did was getting through to him. He looked up at Steve. "I'm sorry. I do not think this is being resolved today."
Steve nodded. "I agree."
"Loki, go get your things. We are going to go," Thor said.
Loki went to do as he was told.
"I'm so sorry. I will try talking to him in a couple of days once he has had some time to think about it," Thor said.
"I know this is not your fault. Clearly the Skye he knows really did a number on him, and he still needs time to get over that," Steve said.
Thor let out a breath and nodded.
Loki came back with his stuff, and Thor stood up and grabbed his things that he had already brought out to the living room.
"Thank you for including Loki in this weekend," Thor said.
"Of course, if he is going to be sticking around, he should be part of the training for the next generation," Steve said.
Thor and Loki left using Storm Breaker.
Steve went into the kitchen and grabbed a beer.
Bucky looked at Steve. "That didn't go well, I take it?"
"No," Steve said. "This weekend did not go exactly how I was hoping."
"I don't think with a bunch of teenagers it will ever go how we expect," Bucky said.
"Okay, but it's not just that. Tucker was arrested. Skye is completely torn apart because of it," Steve said.
Bucky nodded.
"And I don't know what to do to fix this for her," Steve said.
"You can't," Bucky said. "Tucker needs to be the one to fix this. He is the one who screwed up."
"Yeah, but he is a teenager, too. They make mistakes," Steve said.
"Yes. But you can't fix the mistakes he made," Bucky said.
"I know," Steve said. "I just wish I could take Skye's pain."
"Pain is a part of life," Bucky said.
Steve let out a breath and nodded. He knew Bucky was right. But that didn't make this any easier.
