Skye slept in the next morning. She got up and threw on one of her new sets of sports bra and leggings before going into the kitchen.

"Good Morning," she said to Bruce and Nat, who were in the kitchen.

"Good Morning," they both said to the teenager.

"Training this morning?" Nat asked.

"Planning to go for a run," Skye said.

"Eat something first," Bruce said.

"Yes, Doctor," Skye said with a smirk as she went through the fridge and pantry to find the stuff to make a yogurt parfait.

Bruce smiled and shook his head.

"So you two dating yet?" Skye asked as she cut up a banana.

"Skye, that is none of your business," Nat said.

"Do I need to tell you both what I can feel off of you both right now?" Skye asked smirking

"Skyler, enough," Bruce said.

Skye finished making her breakfast and leaned against the counter as she ate it, still smirking.

"Keep it up, Skyler, and see how that works out for you," Nat said.

"I'm sorry. I can't help my abilities," Skye said.

"At this point, I think you have more control over them than you are implying at the moment. But even if you can't, that doesn't mean you need to stick your nose in other's personal relationships or business," Bruce said.

Skye didn't say anything.

"We understand it's hard to feel the feelings of others even when you don't want to, but Bruce is right. It's not fair to others to share that with others," Nat said.

"You are both in denial if you two can honestly say you don't know how the other feels about you without me having to tell you. But I'm sorry for butting into it," she said before she went to finish her breakfast in the living room. It was clear she was upset.

Nat went to get up to go talk to her, but Bruce stopped her and asked her to let him. He went and sat in the living room where he could look at her.

Skye let out a breath.

"You know I know how hard it is not to be able to fully control an ability," Bruce said.

"I know," Skye said.

"And I get it has to be hard to feel what everyone else is feeling and not be able to do anything about it," Bruce said. "But you have to know it's not fair to anyone for you to share someone else's feelings with others. Unless of course, you are worried about someone's safety because of what they are feeling."

"I don't need my abilities to know how you and Nat feel about each other," Skye said. "Everyone who knows you two knows."

"Okay, maybe that's true. But no one else has made it their business the way you are trying to," Bruce said.

Skye nodded a little. "I'm sorry."

"I know your intentions were not mean, so it's forgiven. Just don't do it again," Bruce said.

"I won't," Skye said.

"Good," Bruce said getting up and going back to the kitchen.

When Skye had finished her breakfast she went and put the bowl in the dishwasher and looked at Nat, who was still sitting at the table. "Sorry."

"Come here," Nat said.

Skye went over, and Nat hugged her. "It's forgiven."

Skye hugged her before she headed out for her run.

When she was out for her run she felt like she was being watched. It made her realize she had forgotten her suit that morning, so she decided to turn around and head back sooner than she planned. When she turned around she saw who was watching her duck behind a truck on the other side of the street. She sighed and went over, but when she looked around the truck he was gone. She went the rest of the way back home. and the first adult she found was Tony.

"So I was on a run and felt like I was being watched. I turned around to come back home and saw Loki on the other side of the street. He ducked behind a truck, but when I went over he was gone," Skye said.

"I'm assuming you mean Kid Loki," Tony said.

"Yes," Skye said.

Tony nodded. "Let's go to the office and call Thor."

Skye went with him and called Thor on speaker.

"Hello, Stark," Thor said answering the phone.

"Thor, Skye is with me, too. You're on speaker," Tony told the man.

"Okay," Thor said.

"Seems you need to find a way to lock your kid brother in a room," Tony said.

Thor sighed. "He told me he was going into town. Misguided trust. He is there?"

"Not exactly," Skye said. "I was out for a run and saw him briefly before he hid behind a truck. When I got to the other side of the truck he was gone."

"Be there in just a moment," Thor said before he hung up, grabbed the Storm Breaker, and transported himself to the compound.

Tony and Skye greeted him.

"Skye, if you want to be involved in finding him you need to get your suit on. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you were told not to leave the compound without it," Tony said.

"You're right. I forgot this morning. Won't happen again," Skye said.

"Go," Tony said.

Skye went and changed into her suit before going to meet with Tony and Thor in the living room, where they were talking to Steve.

Steve looked at Skye. "I'm not going to stop you from helping find Loki, but make sure you listen to Tony and Thor," Steve reminded Skye.

"Thank you, I will," Skye said.

Skye went with Tony and Thor, showing them where she had last seen Loki. They all looked around the area. Skye went down an alleyway, and her variant stepped out.

Skye took a breath. "So, are you the variant I have met?"

Variant Skye smirked.

"That's a yes," Skye said with a sigh. "What do you want?"

"I am just here to bring Loki back where he belongs," Variant Skye said.

"Why? So you can kill him?" Skye asked.

"He will be given a chance to join Hydra," Variant Skye said.

"I don't think he has any interest in that, or in going back to a universe that is completely destroyed because of your precious Hydra," Skye said sarcastically.

Variant Skye made a fireball in her hand.

"For some reason, I don't think your abilities will work on me," Skye said.

"Why, because yours didn't work on me? I'm stronger than you," Variant Skye said.

"Partly that, but also my suit offers an extra level of protection," Skye said.

Variant Skye threw the fireball at Skye, and it bounced off of her.

"Told you," Skye said.

Thor heard Skye and went quickly towards the sound. He saw the two Skyes standing there. He was behind the Skye he knew.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here," Variant Skye said, smirking at Thor.

"Skyler, are you alright?" he asked the Skye he knew.

"I'm okay," Skye said, hearing Thor behind her.

Loki came into the alleyway as well, and Variant Skye smirked. "Oh, goodie. You can watch me kill your brother in this universe too."

Skye could feel the immense fear coming off Loki. She noticed a small puddle of water just behind the other Skye, tapped into her ability, and started to make the puddle grow.

Variant Skye saw what was happening and started to form a large fireball in her hand, aiming at Thor.

"Come on, it's Thor. Do you honestly think your fire is going to hurt him?" Skye asked, trying to get the attention off of him and back to her as she continued to grow the pool of water.

"Probably not without someone weakening him," Variant Skye said. Wanda stepped out of the shadows behind her.

Skye looked at Wanda, and her mind was brought out of her focus on the puddle.

Variant Skye smirked. "Worried about your precious Wanda? That's not yours. Don't worry."

Skye nodded. "I knew that, because my universe Wanda would never be on Hydra's side."

Variant Wanda noticed Loki had his knife pointed at Variant Skye and used her power of telekinesis to take it from him and throw it toward Thor.

Skye saw what was happening and knew that, while not much could hurt Thor, that knife could. She could not let that happen.

Tony had heard the commotion and called for backup. He went into the alley in time to see what was happening. He could see the look in Skye's eyes and what she was planning.

"Skyler, don't!" Tony said, but Skye didn't have time to process what she had been told before she was jumping in front of Thor just as the knife was about to hit him. taking the knife to her stomach.

Tony aimed his missile and shot it towards the opposing Skye, knocking her out. And when Wanda was distracted going towards her, Tony took her out as well.

Thor was already on the ground with Skye. He had pulled the knife out and was putting pressure on her wound.

Loki grabbed his knife from the ground by Skye and Thor.

"Loki, what are you doing?" Tony asked.

"I am avenging my brother," Loki said, going towards Variant Skye, who was lying on the ground groaning in pain.

"Loki, don't! We need to get Skye out of here," Thor said to his brother.

Skye shook her head. "I'm fine. Loki, do it!"

Tony went to grab Loki

"Uncle Tony," Skye whined to distract him.

Tony turned his attention to Skye, giving Loki a chance to get to Variant Skye. Loki stabbed her in the stomach and pulled out the knife.

Variant Skye screamed.

At that moment Dr. Strange teleported in with America.

"Perfect timing," Tony said, grabbing Loki and pulling him away. "Get these two back to their universe and make sure no one follows you back."

"America, make sure you take them to someone who can help them," Dr. Strange ordered.

"Let her die!" Loki screamed.

America opened a portal and sent Variant Skye and Wanda through it and went with the two of them.

Dr. Strange went over to Skye and Thor. "How bad is it?"

"It's Loki's knife. It went through her suit. It's bad. Why did you jump in front of me? You should not have done that!" Thor asked Skye, his voice slightly raised. He was clearly annoyed with her.

"Because I told Loki I would never hurt you and I would die for you. I wasn't about to make a liar of myself," Skye said, pouting a little.

Dr. Strange looked at the wound, taking over and applying pressure for Thor.

"I'm fine. It will heal," Skye said weakly.

"Don't talk, conserve your energy," Dr. Stange said.

"We need to get her to Banner's lab," Tony said.

"Sorry I didn't listen Uncle Tony. I didn't have time to stop myself when I heard you," Skye said weakly.

"I know. Now do as Dr. Strange said, and stop talking," Tony said.

Thor picked up the girl.

Tony made sure his grasp on the back of Loki's neck was secure, and Dr. Strange teleported them to the compound.

"Banner, your lab now. Rogers, you too," Tony called out as they went that way.

Bruce and Steve went quickly.

Thor placed the girl on the table and moved out of the way, grabbing his brother from Tony and pulling him from the room.

"What the hell happened," Bruce asked as he helped her get her suit off her upper half and checked the wound, applying pressure with gauze.

"Long story short, Wanda's variant got a hold of Loki's knife and threw it towards Thor. Skye jumped in front of it," Tony said.

"I'm fine," Skye whined.

"Skye, you have been told to shut it twice. Don't make it three times," Tony said.

"Listen, Skyler," Steve said.

Skye nodded.

"Skye, I'm going to ask you questions, and I need you to answer them honestly," Banner said.

Skye nodded.

"Pain level?" Banner asked.

"Six out of ten," Skye said. "But it was worse before. It was at a ten when it first happened."

"How deep did it go?" Banner asked.

"I don't know," Skye said.

"More than half the blade was inside," Tony said.

Banner nodded. "We are going to get some scans done just to make sure there is no internal damage. Everyone but Rogers out."

"I'm fine," Skye whined as everyone left the room.

"Humor me," Banner said.

Skye nodded.

The scans were done, and Banner looked at the screen waiting for the image to load.

"Thor is annoyed with me," Skye said looking at her dad.

"Is he now?" Steve asked.

"He thinks I shouldn't have jumped in front of the knife," Skye said.

"Well, I don't like that you are hurt. But I understand why you did it," Steve said.

"You're not annoyed with me?" Skye asked.

Steve shook his head, "No. Now stop talking, and rest."

Skye nodded.

Banner examined the scan when it came up on the screen. "Yeah, it went deep. I can see where it's already starting to heel."

"Super serum for the win!" Skye said, raising her arms and whimpering.

"Okay. Shut up and put your arms down," Steve said.

Skye put her arms down and pouted.

Steve looked at Banner. "What's the next step."

"Stitches," Banner said.

"I'm good. It will heal," Skye said.

"Skyler Sarah Rogers, do not argue," Steve said.

Skye cringed. It wasn't often she got full named.

"Yes, Skye, you need stitches," Banner said.

Skye nodded. "Sorry for arguing."

Banner nodded and started on the stitches.

Skye whimpered.

Steve took her hand. "Squeeze it."

Skye squeezed his hand through the pain. "That knife went through my suit."

"Knife resistant, not knife proof. And Loki's knife is different because it's not from Earth," Steve said.

"Well, maybe we need a material not from Earth in my suit," Skye said.

"The only thing I know of that might work is vibranium, and that is hard to come by," Steve said

"Vibranium?" Skye asked.

"My shield is made of it. It's a material only available from Wakanda," Steve said.

"Shuri lives there," Skye said.

"Yes, we will see if maybe we can get some to put in your suit," Steve said. "But I need to ask, what happened to your variant?"

"Loki stabbed her, and America took her and Wanda's variant back to their universe," Skye said.

"Wanda's variant, yeah that was a surprise to hear," Steve said.

"Yeah, she is part of Hydra in that universe, too. She was here helping her Skye," Skye said.

Steve nodded.

Bruce finished with the stitches. "How is the pain now?"

"Still about a six," Skye said as Steve took off his sweater and gave it to her so she could cover up.

Bruce took out a glucometer and held it up. "You want to check your sugars or should I?"

Skye held out her hand for him to do it.

He checked it for her.

"It's normal," Banner said.

"It's been normal for a while. Even since the specialist told me to go off the insulin," Skye said.

"Do you think you are cured?" Bruce asked.

"I don't know. It would be about time the super serum did its job in that department," Skye said

"When you are back to 100% we can do some testing to see," Bruce said.

Skye nodded.

"Do you want something for the pain?" Bruce asked.

"No," Skye said.

"You don't need to act tough, Skye," Steve said.

"I'm okay," Skye said.

"Go, rest. If you need something for the pain let me know," Bruce said.

"Can I shower with stitches?" Skye asked

Banner took a large bandage out of a drawer and covered the stitches. "Carefully. When you're done take the bandage off. If it's bleeding, let me know."

Skye nodded and got up from the table. Steve went with her to the elevator and started to ride up.

"When are we going to debrief?" Skye asked.

"Probably tomorrow, you just need to rest today," Steve said.

Skye nodded. "I feel okay. I'm okay to debrief today, if it's needed."

"Okay, I'll keep that in mind," Steve said as the elevator door opened. "Go rest. That is an order."

"Yes, Cap," Skye said with a smile as she went to walk away

"Funny. Skye," he started.

Skye looked back at him

"I'm proud of you. It sounds like you handled yourself today the way you were trained," Steve said, going over to her and kissing her head.

"Thanks, Dad," Skye said.

"Go," he said.

Skye went to her room. she took off the rest of her suit and the hoodie before going into the bathroom and turning on the shower. She reached back to remove her bra but couldn't. She sighed and went and opened her bedroom door and called out. "Can I get a woman's help in here?"

Wanda got up from the kitchen table and went to her room.

"My bra," Skye said grumpily as she turned around.

Wanda smiled a little and undid it.

"Thanks," Skye said.

"You okay?" Wanda asked.

"Yeah," Skye said.

"Your variant did this?" Wanda asked.

"Not exactly, she was there but someone else's variant was more the one aiming for Thor, and I jumped in the way," Skye said.

"Who's variant?" Wanda asked.

Skye let out a breath. "It doesn't matter."

Wanda tilted her head.

"Thanks for the help, Wanda," Skye said, smiling at her.

"Of course, Malyutka," Wanda said, leaving her be.

Skye showered carefully before getting dressed in a pair of sweatpants and an oversized tee. She took the bandage off and made sure the stitches looked okay before she went into the kitchen.

"You're supposed to be in bed," Bucky said from the table.

"Just getting some water," Skye said.

"Bed, I will get it and bring it to you," Bucky said.

Skye sighed but did as she was told.

Bucky came in five minutes later with some water and a granola bar.

"Thanks," Skye said, taking the bottle of water and granola bar.

"Of course," Bucky said. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay," Skye said, sipping the water.

"You sure? You have the same look of guilt on your face that your dad gets," Bucky said with a smirk.

Skye smiled a little. "Not guilty, but Thor is annoyed with me for jumping in front of the knife for him."

"I think he is just worried about you, like the rest of us," Bucky said.

Skye nodded a little.

"Do you want me to go get him so you two can talk?" Bucky asked

"I don't want him to yell at me," Skye said.

"Has Thor ever yelled at you?" Bucky asked.

"Yes, once," Skye said softly.

"What did you do to get him that annoyed?" Bucky asked.

"Ignored him, disobeyed him more than once while I was in Asgard," Skye said.

"Well, it was probably warranted then," Bucky said with a smile.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I want it to happen again," Skye said.

"Tell you what, you eat that granola bar. I'll go get him and tell him not to yell at you, okay?" Bucky asked.

"K," Skye said.

Bucky got up and left the room. Skye opened and ate the granola bar.

Thor came and knocked on the door.

"Yeah?" Skye said.

Thor went in. "I am not going to yell at you."

Skye looked down.

Thor sat on the end of her bed. "I am sorry if I scared you. I am not angry with you. I was never angry. I was just worried, and it came out as annoyed."

Skye nodded.

"No, I do not like that you jumped in front of that knife for me. I don't ever want you to do that again. But I am not angry with you," Thor said.

"So, we are okay?" Skye asked

"We were never not," Thor said, moving closer to her and opening his arms.

Skye hugged him.

Thor wrapped his arms around her gently. "So promise me you will never jump in front of an attack meant for me again."

"I don't want to make a promise I might not be able to keep," Skye said.

"Skyler, please," Thor said.

"Would you be able to make that promise to anyone here?" Skye asked.

Thor smiled. "Point made, little one."

Skye smiled.

"How is your pain?" Thor asked.

"Barely hurts anymore," Skye said.

"Ah, I know when you are lying little one," Thor said.

"It's about a six," she admitted.

Thor nodded.

"I've dealt with worse," Skye assured him.

"That I believe," Thor said. "But I will leave you to rest. If you need anything text someone, and they will bring it to you."

Skye nodded as Thor got up and left her room.

Skye crawled under her blankets and closed her eyes to get some rest.
